Our food tour stopped at this butcher for tastes of local meats and cheeses. Definitely different than the usual Iberico or Parma ham, these are more Tuscan and therefore taste differently. With it, slices of fresh and aged cow's milk cheese. All delicious and with an introduction and explanation by the butcher. Fabulous.
After that, we had some fresh bread with an interesting meat dish that some of my friends on the tour guide decided to skip but I dug in. Lampredotto is made from cow stomach (specifically, the fourth one), slow-cooked in broth and seasoned. It was... unusual. I wouldn't say I would definitely have it again but I enjoyed the opportunity to try something completely different.
In addition to the butchery, Terrazza Menoni has a proper sit down restaurant upstairs.
