We Rate Portera Five Stars. We have been moved in now two months in our 4th floor suite, well it seems like a suite at the JW Marriott. We actually have a 2 Br, 2Ba, Nook and Living Room with two foyer entry closets and large laundry/Pantry Room. All apartments come with multiple quiet Daikin AC Units that will freeze you out if you don't adjust the temperature. Which is great because you have remote digital controls for each AC Unit. The Kitchen cabinets and appliances are high end stainless steel oven, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. Each apartment also comes with high end Washer and Dryer front loading units. Our big item we needed moving in was a big garage. So we also added the largest garage they have which is just over 800 sqft. It's really nice just driving into your garage and then going right into the 1st floor hallway to one of the three elevators. They also have carport parking and open parking so it's your choice. Now if that doesn't grab your fancy, the Staff here is fantastic. They are all extremely friendly and most sociable. They have activities going on every week for the tenants to meet and gather so you may meet all your neighbors and make friends. The staff also attend all the events so you can get to know them better to. We already know all the staff by first name, including the building maintenance engineers. How did we come about choosing Portera At The Grove? My wife and I looked at every apartment complex in Wilsonville and surrounding cities. We compared the 2br 2ba apartment prices and amenities. Yes, Portera is just a little higher then some of the other non-55+ living apartment complexes in the area. We decided that the extra $50 to $100 higher monthly rent was and is well worth it. If one of you reading this Yelp review is over 55 years old at time of choosing your next residence. Really go over your budget and compare prices I think you will decide on Portera Living over some of these other apartment complexes. So my grandparents, who just turned 55yrs young, planned on moving away from sunny California. They were used to having their own house so looking for an apartment in a state that they did not know definitely proved to be more difficult than we imagined. Now, since I was the only one who lived here in Oregon, I had to be the one to tour different communities. Most places that I looked at didn't even have their leasing office open or even have anyone answering their phone. Anyway, all our troubles went away when we decided to call Portera. They immediately answered their phone and were very knowledgeable about the area. They took their time to explain to my grandparents about all their options and even went inside to each apartment to take pictures of the ones that were available. They had the patience of emailing us all these pictures and walked my grandparents through the application process. It was definitely important for us to find the perfect home, but also a community with a perfect staff. My grandparents love their apartment because of the spacious floor-plans (which is important since my grandfather has a wheelchair), and the maintenance team repairs things quickly. It is amazing to find a caring staff nowadays and I feel super happy that my grandparents feel that they are at home. Portera proved to be a great community because of all the friendly events they hold for all the residents. My grandparents have already made a few friends and I am very thankful for that! We have lived at Portera for eighteen months and it is wonderful for this time in our lives. We have always owned our own home so renting an apartment is new to us. No more worrying whether anything needs repair or if the lawn needs mowing. We just give a call and the wonderful maintenance man shows up We love the location of Portera as most things we need are about a mile away such as our dentist, markets, Costco, many parks, and restaurants. Our apartment is spacious and has everything we need. The rooftop area is lovely and inside facilities are nice. We are looking forward to activities opening up as the pandemic winds down. We have remained safe during. COVID as everyone wears a mask and stays the required distance away. The Smart bus stops right in front if scheduled. Walking is convenient as there are nice walking paths nearby. We love being in Wilsonville. It is also very quiet as we face the front of this lovely building. We are on the first floor so have easy access to our home. A real nice place to live. read more

Visited my family this past weekend and Portera is the best apartment community I've ever seen. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and guided us in the direction to my parents apartment. After we got there, my parents showed us around the place, with the Skydeck, resident community room, we played cards (family tradition) at night in the card room. There are TVs EVERYWHERE! Definitely excited for my parents to be in a techy kind of place. My girlfriend loves the chandeliers all around. My parents picked the best place to relax and retire to. They're very happy in their 2 bedroom apartment. The washer/dryer and pantry storage makes my mom so happy and my dad loves that he doesn't have to do the lawn anymore. He said maintenance is fast on fixing stuff, so he doesn't even try to do anything himself. We'll definitely be back to visit as much as possible! read more

I have experienced nothing like what is available to rent at Portera. The homes were delightfully decorated and the large windows are a big pleaser to me living in Oregon. Not only are the homes appointed with granite, stainless steel and wood flooring, the extra amenities are quite a perk. The community spaces such as the billiard room, theater room, sundeck and lounge look like they were decorated straight out of a magazine! If that does entice you alone to come take look, meet the staff. Friendly, helpful and charming. The stroll around the community with the big oak trees and park seating is such a nice addition. I can't imagine living anywhere else that caters to a mature group of lively residents! Portera gives a new name to 55 and BETTER! read more

We relocated from Vancouver Washington to Wilsonville OR for work in February and chose Portera at the Grove because it offered a 55+ community, wonderful amenities and the perfect location. The facility is beautiful and very well maintained. They've thought of everything! The staff at Portera are helpful, friendly and they truly care about the tenants having the best experience possible. They do a FANTASTIC job of organizing events and activities to fit everyone's interests and after just a couple of months we feel like part of the family. Lovely place to live!!! Quiet, upscale, great staff, great neighbors!! Age 55+ but not an old age place!! Young seniors, still many working in careers. Animals allowed....perfect for those who no longer wish to care for a home. My dog, Jack,and I are so happy here. We have a patio and a park right out from the building, a dog park up the street and lots of buddies here in the building. This is a great alternative to cleaning gutters and broken sprinkler systems!!! After reading the previous negative reviews I must strongly disagree. Portera is an amazing place to live and I'm so glad (now) that I do. The staff is attentive and professional and friendly -they are like my second family. I'm always called by name, which makes me feel welcome and valued as a resident. I feel safe, I live in a gorgeous apartment. If a resident has a bad experience (which we all do from time to time) why not try to solve it without social media as an outlet. So immature. Stop with the sophomoric way of posting such unfair reviewing. I dare anyone of these negative people to find any nicer place to live - guess what . . . it doesn't exist. We are completely satisfied with Portera. It is so nice to be living in a place that is so well maintained and professionally cared for. We are thrilled with our apartment and the layout of it. There were several flour plans to choose from. The staff has been so helpful and friendly during our transitioning into our new home and continue to be ever so helpful. If we had any maintenance issues Jeff and John were very friendly and prompt to address them. There are so many amenities and events going on at all times its hard to choose. Before I finish I have to say our baby (Brandi) is loving all the attention she is getting from everyone there. It is a very pet friendly place. read more

I am amazed at the negative reviews Portera has received; I have lived here for three years and have only positive things to say about the experience. The management staff is always polite, considerate , and accommodating. The maintenance staff is prompt and efficient and always willing to help with the smallest problem. My apartment is spacious, comfortable, with a pleasing decor. The common areas of the building are kept in pristine condition. Before COVID-19 restrictions, ample opportunities were given for tenants to meet and socialize. I have never heard another tenant complain about anything, and I think a common feeling is that we get what we are paying for here. read more

When I was able to visit Portera at the Grove I was very impressed with how nice it was. It was very clean and pristine, which left it with a aura of professionalism. Also the staff was very helpful, answering the questions you would have about Portera. The assistant manager, Heather, was very helpful, as she was always ready and eager to help with anything you needed. The staff were always smiling, which gave the place an overall safe and pleasant feeling. I would recommend Portera at the Grove to anyone looking for an active adult community. We moved in nearly a year ago and have enjoyed Portera for so many reasons. Beautiful property, inside and out. From the beginning, the staff was so pleasant and welcoming...and throughout our stay, they have been incredibly responsive to our needs. They treat everyone like family. The amenities are amazing, everything from a large roof-top deck with seating areas, fireplace, full outdoor kitchen, community gardens, to a movie theatre, fitness center and beautiful community room. The apartments themselves are very nicely appointed and comfortable. We are so pleased with our decision to make Portera our home. read more

I recently discovered the place where I want my Father to live. Portera at the Grove!! A beautiful place with wonderful staff. It will be so convenient for him to wake up each morning and head down to the excellent Fitness Center for a little workout before breakfast, then head up to the 6000 square foot Sky Deck to check out the bird feeders for the latest arrivals. He is an avid birdwatcher. Currently, the Goldfinches are dining on black oil sunflower seeds and thistle. It is so sweet to watch those feathered friends in action. I can hardly wait for him to move in! I highly recommend Portera! read more

I toured Portera with the manager Andie a week ago...and was so impressed! It's luxury living at it's finest and she was such an informative and personable manager. I could tell immediately that I would appreciate having her looking after me when I live there. The grounds are impeccable, clean, beautiful landscaping and architecture, elevators....A dream to live in. The sky deck, the gorgeous movie theatre area....and then, the billiards and card room....OMG........Amazing. This will undoubtedly be my living space in a year when I'm 55. I visited some family at Portera a few months back and absolutely loved it. I toured around and immediately wish I could have moved in! The community room was so impressive and the Skydeck, even though it was raining, looked like it would be my favorite place on the property. I know my aunt and uncle love living at Portera and are always talking about it. We've done dinner night in the room on the 3rd floor before because their table can't fit all of us. I've recommended to a few other friends in our family to check it out when they're ready to retire. read more

Portera is absolutely beautiful and the staff here is incredibly attentive and kind! One of my favorite things about Portera is how clean and perfect everything is! You'd swear the management staff has an obsession with keeping everything clean! (I've never seen dust here) The theatre is a treat, the deck is a gift and I've never seen a common room like the one here! Everyone always has such a great smile here too! This is one of those places that you have to see to believe with modern, quiet, beautifully appointed apartment/homes. When you walk into the lobby you have the feeling of a 5-star hotel. The adjoining lounge is a great place for a casual meeting or a morning cup of coffee. The other revues shared most of the amenities, but failed to mention the in-building storage units, garage parking options, and the feeling of security. Wow! I couldn't have found a better place to live! I am enjoying every part of my life. Portera provides a wide range of activities for everyone. Meryl, the activities coordinator, is open to new ideas and many new opportunities. Activities offer a wonderful chance to meet new people, and, if you prefer, you have the opportunity to enjoy the quietness of your own space. The apartments are spacious and have many amenities. Many of them have a spectacular view of Mt. Hood. I recommend Portera for anyone desiring a true joy of living. read more
