Took old bikes there years ago for repair, brought in an electric bike for a tire repair. They don't work on electric bikes because of insurance. Fast! Affordable! Friendly! Efficient. I was first introduced to this magnificent crew bicycle mechanics Summer 2018. I got a tuneup and a few other accessories put on. Last summer I didn't ride as much so I didn't revisit them. This season however as everyone is aware spring/summer 2020 is definitely "get outside season". Upon desiring to ride my bicycle to La Grange his local CrossFit gym, I just so happen to noticing I clearly need immediate tire repair and THANK GOODNESS they were open! Upon arrival, I was the third person in the store, I waited less than 20 minutes before they got to my bicycle, and I was out of the shop in less than 30! read more

Previous experience with this place is positive, but the COVID19 pandemic has created a bike shortage. I called the shop because no bikes were displayed as is usually the case. I was told bikes were coming in, so I visited the shop the following day. No one ever acknowledged my being present in the shop, or spoke with the two men that were there before me. Made three laps around the store and poked my head into their side yard, no response. I think it is good practice to at least recognize customers' presence, even if you're tied up with something. I brought my bike in to true the wheels. I was given an estimate of $59. I agreed to the have the work done. When I called to see if the bike was ready they told me it needed 4 spokes @ $2 a spoke. I agreed. They called to say the bike was ready but when I got there it wasn't done. They said another 10 minutes, the ten minutes turned out to be 45. When they gave me the bill they added an additional $25 for labor. I told them that seemed high since they already had the wheels off the bike, besides they never told me about the additional labor. Their comment was "well we need to make a living". While I was waiting other customers had issues, such as their bike taking 4 weeks to repair when they were told it would take three days. Terry's has been around a long time, but this was the first and last time I will use them. read more

No, just no! If you look at my profile you'll see a very very rarely leave a bad review. I'll see about this is they had my bike for a simple brake job and we'll alignment for 10 days on the 10th I went to pick it up and I couldn't find it I had to go in the back area and hundreds of bikes stored in semi style trailer storage and there's no way my bike was getting fixed anytime soon. If you want to try and make sure they give you an exact day you could pick it up or it's not worth it 10 days just wasted I couldn't get it fixed somewhere else. F*CK Terry's! read more

I Was told it was 3 weeks for a tuneup called after 4 weeks no answer drove to the store and they are closed. I get ahold of someone who says they lost my receipt and that they are going to write a new one. But can I describe the bike because they don't even know which one it is and they have a bunch of Untagged bikes. Get there they have the original receipt they gave me with the matching numbers I don't care about the length of time for repair or the inconvenience of even going there to see they are randomly closed for three days. What I care about were the lies and deception. I'll never set foot in that establishment again very unorganized obvious "staffing issues" I'll have to give another local bike shop a try read more

When you pay a grand for a bike you might be forgiven for thinking that the so-called "mechanics" might just be able to put the pedals on without completely stripping the shaft. But one employee there said it best, "these guys are idiots". I couldn't agree with him more. Add to that an owner who can't stop screaming incoherently at everyone at the top of his lungs (I don't care if he's disabled or not; it's inappropriate) and what you have is a freak show. Wow..this is my 1st yelp review. I was charged a "tariff fee" of 17.00 to just remove a tire tube and replace with a tube I brought in. I complained that this fee was outrageous for literally 60 seconds of labor. I explained that I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and need some help. After my numerous inquiries " are you sure this is the right charge for the small request " he insisted that since the tariffs on our products there was no exceptions. I reluctantly paid since I wanted to ride my bike so bad... I then called around for the same service and was told that a small or of fee of 5 to 10 dollars was sufficient. I then contracted the store and explained the I justice, they refunded me 10.00. So I pleased that they honored my request. read more

I got a new bike still in the box dropped it off I needed them to assemble it The mechanic Chris said it would take two days and the third day I called to see how it's going he decided to say I'm fighting with your bike like I'm fighting with my wife I'm like OK he's having difficulty putting the bike together his excuse it's not a namebrand bike then he called to tell me that the bikes ready I go pick it up he said well the handlebars a little loose I'd be careful I said OK is the bike safe to ride he goes oh yeah yeah yeah the bike is safe to ride I literally ride the bike out of their parking lot and the back wheel falls off !!! not very safe to me and then he says it's a tire so going back-and-forth on a Friday I told him order me a tire he goes well I'm really busy I won't be able to order till Monday I said that's fine come Thursday I called again I said what's going on with my bike he said I thought you're bringing me a tire I said no that's not what my conversation was so he decides to argue with me on the right conversation come to find out he did apologize and said yes I'm sorry I forgot to order it it's just that we're really busy here so now almost a week and a half I still have no bike so I picked my bike and I took it to Dan's bike shop in Berwyn they had my bike done in one hour cannot be happier I will never go to Terry's bicycles ever again not even for a flat tire read more

Went to get my wheel straightened because another bike shop in the area messed it up. This place was great they not only straightened the wheel but also fixed the breaks that hadn't been working properly since the other place messed them up. Would highly recommend this bike shop! read more

My husband and I came here last night around 7 and they had a bunch of bikes outside so we started to look at them. Within minutes, Mike came out to help us. He was really honest and knowledgeable about everything. He seemed a little on edge since he made it clear that they were closing soon (1 hour) but he never made it seem like we were a burden...maybe he had a long day. They would have to special order a bike for my husband since he is so tall and they only keep a certain number of bikes on hand. Also, if you buy a bike from them they give a free maintenance season check-up (normally $70) and they throw in the kickstand (about $10). We haven't bought a bike from them - yet, but we'd probably be back to purchase. read more

UPDATE 03/19/15: Terry's is back open. They are operating out of the workshop in the back as they continue to rebuild. They don't currently have much stock, as they don't have a ton of space, but they are still all kind and patient when a seven year old is picking out his bike. Though it's a makeshift showroom, we found a great bike and my son is happy. It's also feels good to support Terry and crew as they continue to rebuild. Temporarily Closed: I've purchased bikes here before and packed up the kids yesterday to go buy a bike. Well, it appears that they've had a massive fire and the store is currently closed. The signs out front say that they'll be back open in Spring of 2015. read more

I worked here for a year and the shop itself is good, and I have nothing against anyone that works there, except TERRY. He is a terrible person who treats people like garbage. He has no respect for any of his employees or IMO the customers. Don't be scared away from bringing them your business, just be cautious when Terry is around. I have contacted the store 4 times now in attempt to resolve this issue, I have either been told to call back at a later time or that I have to bring in the bike. Purchased a girls bike for $279.99, after inspecting once we brought it back we noticed some damage, the cover of the kick stand is missing and is quite sharp and could cut a girls leg. All I want is for someone to take accountability, that the bike was not properly inspected before leaving the store (for the high price I would expect that). I have also agreed for them to just ship me the piece so I could repair it myself. Unfortunately the only option I was given is to bring the bike back to the store. I do not have the ability to do that, I really wish they were more helpful. Now I feel like the goal was just to make the sale and that the bike is out the door now it's my problem. read more

Very unprofessional and rude... I left my bike for tune-up and tire replacement and was told it will be ready in 7-10 days. I went to the store after 10 days... the bike is not ready. It is now 14 days and the bike is still not fix. I called several times to follow-up...they get my phone and name but they never call back. I will not go back to this store. read more

Terrible service. Bike had nothing but issues. When i returned after 2 days they tried to blame my 7 year old for riding too hard. Kid can hardly ride as it is. On my 4 return to fix the $350 bike today. Also, very overpriced. Other bike shops in LaGrange have better bikes for a better price. I would shop around. read more

WILL HOLD YOUR THINGS H We brought my moms bike here to get fixed about.... FOUR ALMOST FIVE WEEKS AGO!!!! Every week she calls for an update they tell her they'll have it done by the end of the week. When she calls back by the end of the week, they push it to next week. It's been like this for a month now. They finally tell her to come pick it up Sunday at 10am. She goes. She waits outside. She calls them. Then notices that the employees are looking at the phone ring and not picking it up. Someone finally comes to assist her and tells her that they're closed today due to the amount of repairs. She explains why she is there and says "that's okay, just give me my bike back. Even if it isn't assembled, I just want it back" & they tell her "we have it in one of five trailers in the back. It's going to take 5 hours for me to find it and I just don't have the time". We've been waiting close to 5 weeks now. WE DONT HAVE THE TIME EITHER TERRY! We're currently looking into other options. Finding ways to get this bike back before the summer ends. The staff here is ridiculously rude. If someone asks for their things back, give it back! read more

Super friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I brought my bike in after a tire blew. The cost to replace it was very reasonable and the turnaround time was great. The guy who rang me out put the bike in the back of my SUV after first suggesting and getting a piece of cardboard to put down first. So a week later I brought in a new bike that we had gotten shipped from a dealer. I wanted them to see if it needed a tune up. He took a look at it while I waited, made a couple adjustments and said it looked fine. No tune up needed. I appreciated his honesty - he could've easily charged me to look at it.
