What to do when you try to assemble the e bike yourself, misplace the instructions, and seem to be missing a couple of parts? Call Carmen! He instructed me to bring the bike in, he'd look it over, and provide an estimate. He did, I did not think the quote was outrageous, so I left the bike in his capable hands. He said it would be ready the next day, but called a couple hours later and said it was ready! When I got there, he and his helper provided info about the electric assist and general bike care. They helped me place the bike on my rack (it is a bit heavier than my hybrid). I went home and tried the bike, and was well pleased with their work. $41.73 to change out and replace two blown out inner tubes??? No estimate, just "leave it here and you can pay when you come back." They saw me coming a mile away... and since this is the only bike repair shop on the south side of Chicago, what else can you do? (The scary part is that the bike I brought in to this shop to have fixed was a bike the shop gave me when they gave away my original bike to someone else last year! There's a long story behind that one... it's a wonder I didn't sue.) I took my bike there to fix a flat, Carmen showed me that my tires were worn thin, best to buy new ones. Great price, awesome service. He even repaired some spokes that were weak and 1 was missing at no charge. Honest and knows his business with fair prices. Got it done in 2 days. read more

He carries all styles/models and accessories. Carmen's has been in business for almost 40 years. Need I say more? My husband bought his bike here this past weekend. Carmen took his time with us to explain the difference between all of the bikes and he found us something that fit my husbands' needs. After we made our purchase he said to bring the bike back in for free adjustments for the remainder of the biking season. This place also does all the basic bike repairs that you may need. I brought my road bike here because the break kept getting stuck. He took a quick look at it and discovered my wheel was not aligned properly. He aligned it and showed me what he was doing. I had been neglecting my bike and he gave me some pointers on using my gears. He didn't even charge me. Any other shop would have charged me. I absolutely love Carmen! He was such a sweet guy and the guys in there with him were hilarious. He helped me pick out the bike he thought was best for me. Extremely knowledgeable, you can tell he knows what he's doing and simply enjoys bikes and bike accessories. I have a tiny ford Taurus and couldn't take the bike with me. A friend of his delivered it to my house for free! Talk about customer service. Told me to come back for a free 30 day tune up. Which I never did, the bike is beautiful, my fav color and was exactly what I needed. I recommend him like crazy!
