I have used Terry's Carpet Care for years. I mostly have had good experiences, depending upon who was working for him (not always great). I had one really bad experience with one of the workers, who ended up lying to me and standing me up. When I talked to Terry and told him about it, he said he'd clean my carpets for free the next time and he did. I called him in desperation 2 days after having had another company do a huge botch job on my carpets. I needed Terry to seriously rinse out all my carpets. He was very sympathetic and made an exception to come the next day later in the afternoon. He came himself with another nice man and did a wonderful job of rinsing all the soap and perfumed smell out. And he did a good job of extracting the water out of the carpet and it dried in about 16 hours, which is pretty good. I am very grateful for his helping out of a really tight spot. read more

I would highly recommend Terry's! After going way too long without having our carpets cleaned, I started looking around for a good deal. There were a ton of half-off coupons in the local Clipper, but Terry's was the only place with good reviews, and a positive BBB rating. I was very happy with my choice. It was great to call and have the people I hired show up- a lot of other places subcontract out their work, and you have no clue who you're getting. The two person crew arrived on time, and were able to do the job quickly and effectively. They were knowledgeable and polite. It was so nice to walk into a great smelling house with super clean carpets! After a weekend, we can already tell the difference in our allergies. The team was able to get out stains I never thought would come out, and they removed the pet odors that had been there since the previous owner. Showed up @ 1230. Window was 12-2 PM. No markings on van but still under a temporary license tag in the window. Two employees looked like workers, sweaty and dirty but extremely friendly and courteous. Recommend they get covers on their shoes like moving company. Vacuum/steamer leaked water when moved room to room but they wiped it up completely. Doors stay open during cleaning so expect flies and bees to come in. They don't move any furniture so move and vacuum before they arrive makes the job go quick. I had 6 rooms and stairs, they were done by 1:30. Carpet looks great. Hopefully it will dry in about 3 hours. Couple of very friendly workers. Price seemed about right $109. Hate to put the furniture back, carpet looks so good. read more

After cleaning the carpets in the house we just bought they came to do our old house. Twice as a matter of fact because the 1st time the pipes were frozen and I couldn't get the water to flow again. No charge on the thwarted attempt, and very reasonable rates. They were quick, efficient and careful. Faster then the last carpet cleaner we used, cheaper and a better job as well. Called Terry's before 9am on a Friday. My cat had just peed on a cushion on my couch and I needed someone here that day. A gruff sounding man answered the phone, told me that they were "pet odor removal experts" and that he could have someone here between 11am and 1pm. At 1:10, a 'technician' showed up and let me know that he wasn't prepared to do the job. He didn't have hoses long enough. According to this technician, he hadn't even learned about my job until about 20 minutes prior to his arrival. When I called the number to find out what in the blazes was going on, the gentleman on the other line kept telling me to calm down and couldn't understand why I was upset. 1. They were late 2. It was too late in the day to get someone else to come out 3. He hadn't given the technician any information about my apartment (I had EXPLICITLY explained that I was a bit far from the parking area and that I lived on the 2nd floor and also that I had to pick my husband up at the airport at 3pm so the job had to be finished by then) 4. They didn't come prepared and couldn't do the job at all, so my couch sat there marinating in cat pee for the entire day and NOW another night) He kept repeating that they were only a little late and that there was nothing they could do that evening that I would have to wait until the next morning to have someone else come out. He tried to blame this on me saying that I wasn't clear and that there was miscommunication. THERE WAS NOT, the dispatcher had NOT done his job and had not apprised the technician of any of this. After being interrupted countless times, and not being given a satisfactory solution, I hung up the phone. By this point, no one else could make it out to me that day, and I called EVERYONE. The dispatcher from Terry's then called me back and asked me if I'd had "enough time to CALM DOWN." WHAT?!?! Being as I was between a rock and a hard place, I agreed to have him come back on Saturday morning (today). The technician was here for two hours and 15 minutes cleaning one mid-sized couch and one chaise lounge. During this time, he disappeared TWICE for 20 minutes each time. He also refused to honor the coupon that I had that the dispatcher told me he WOULD honor, so I was charged double the amount agreed upon. There was no further apology. BEYOND THIS, the technician today showed up with THE SAME equipment as the one yesterday, and nothing additional was needed. Why the guy today could do the job with the same stuff the guy yesterday couldn't is beyond me. All of this, I would let go, except that NOTHING IS CLEAN. The cushion, despite being soaking wet, still smells like it did before this guy got here and of course, no one is returning my phone calls. So now, I am going to have to call someone else and have this job done AGAIN and pay even more. Between the time and the money I wasted and the fact that everything is exactly as it was before Terry's came, I'm incredibly angry and would not recommend this place to anyone. I used Terry's Carpet Care to clean my carpets upon moving out of a rental house. The carpets were cleaned just fine, but what follows is my warning to you. The technician was kind of a disaster: he forgot to bring his phone so he wasn't able to alert us as to his arrival time and then he needed extra coaching to run my credit card at the end of the service. Had to use my phone to call his bank. Come on, credit cards aren't rare. Oh yeah, and then there was that part where he BACKED HIS VAN INTO MY GARAGE, cracking a few bricks. "Oh, I guess I should have been watching you when you signaled me to stop." Um, yes. Mistakes happen, and can be forgiven if the company makes it right. But Terry's Carpet Care was totally non-responsive. Over the next week and a half, I left my callback number several times -- the voicemail on his seven (seven!) phone numbers was full (is that a thing?) so I couldn't leave a message. I sent a message through his website, but no response. Extremely difficult to get a hold of. I was able to find a friend of his to pass along the message that I would take him to court. "Court" is the magic word to get a callback, by the way. He kept promising that he would have a contractor get in touch with me. After several days and a long list of excuses, a contractor finally called. By this time, my landlord was so concerned that this company wasn't reliable that she elected to not even go ahead with the repair; they might make it worse. Excuses parade included: "I was in the hospital." (true, but only for the first day) "This is the first I'm hearing of this." (not true) "Didn't call you because of religious beliefs." (for over a week?) "It was Mother's Day." (for over a week?) "I was having difficulty picking up the phone." (for the times when he would pick up the phone and then just hang up on me...unprofessional!) Each of these on their own isn't that damning, but clearly his intention was to make it very difficult to resolve the situation. In the end, he won. The repair wasn't completed and he didn't have to pay out any insurance. My landlord didn't ding my deposit, but now she is left with a busted brick. Again, mistakes happen. The true value of a company comes from how they handle the resolution. Do not take a chance with this guy. read more

So i was all set to give them 1 or 2 stars after waiting for four and a half hours (2 1/2 hrs after the 2 hr window) and not getting a call or a straight answer as to when they would be there when we called them. But when Edward FINALLY showed up he did a great job. He was quick and professional and the rates were low. The carpets dried the next day. Just keep in mind that this is bargain basement carpet cleaning and they don't move anything, you have to move furniture etc for them (it's just one guy) or they will just do the main traffic areas. If they would get their s**t together with scheduling (which is a common problem with them from what I gathered) they could be 4-5 stars. read more

We have always been very happy with their quality and professionalism, as well as their prices. Our carpets are about 11 years old, and with four kids and a dog they have seen a lot! We were totally amazed! We had to take before and after pictures. We could not believe what was found under the special lighting that JASON had before starting the cleaning. We were only going to do 2 rooms at a home we were renting. We were told it had already been clean. We could tell that it was not done with the quality equipment/truck operation like Terry's Carpet Care. We thought the home was animal free until we saw the stain marks that the special light showed! I had been using Terry for about 10.years. Never had an issue. However, I phoned him to set up a cleaning on a Thursday. I had company coming from overseas the next day and wanted the house to be clean. I got all of the furniture up and was ready for the scheduled 10-12 am timeframe. I had to make special arrangements to have someone at the house. No one ever showed up. I tried calling him and it always went to a recorded message stating that the mailbox was full. I found the coupon on the Clipper Magazine .This is the first time I used Terry's Carpet Care cleaning.They have No hidden fees and very honest company .I am so happy with Lisa she did a great job to make my carpet look like brand new again .Her work is quality and excellent .I will ask for Lisa again the next time to clean my carpet . UPDATE March 2018 This time the absolute worst company and experience I have had. I called the company to ask for Lisa again. Terry, the owner told me she already quit and told me he will send someone better than Lisa . The guy show up to do my 5 rooms (4 bedroom, dinning room, and 2 stairways) plus 3 large rugs. He spend less than half an hour and said he was done and did a really good job. The carpet was not even done in the rooms. No vacuum marks or wet carpet. He would not do it over and left, saying he wasn't paid enough to spend more time. I call the owner to complain and he told me not to worry he send someone else. This new guy showed up at 7pm on Sunday the same day and did not have all the right equipment. He had to tape 3 hoses together. After he started by spraying the carpet cleaning enzyme and realized it was motor oil in the bottle. He cleaned that up and used a had sprayer for the rest of the house but his hoses started leaking water. He lost about 10 gallons of water in our carpet before he realized the hoses were leaking. If that wasn't bad enough, his generator stopped working and he needed to go get a new truck which took him more than an hour and half. When he returned and set up with a new hose, again his truck generator would not stay running and he said it was out of gas. By this time it was after 10pm and he told me he could come back the next day between noon and 2pm. I agreed to take half day off work and let him finish the job. He told me don't worry he would do very good job and make it right for first guy not doing it right and all the problems. The next day I was home at noon and waited until after 2pm the guy did not show up. I called Terry and he said he couldn't reach the guy either but would keep trying and let me know when he was on his way. My husband also called Terry and he told him the same thing. At 4pm I tried to call agin and Terry would not answer the phone. This guy never showed up at the house to finish the job, left 10 gallons of water I my carpet, and has not returned any of my calls. In the end I called sears carpet cleaning and they fixed everything Terry's company messed up. Terry's carpet cleaning is not one I would recommend again. It took a week to schedule with sears but I would go back to them again rather than waste my time with Terry carpet cleaning. Be very careful. Caution false statement! Don't believe what in the ads. He can not remove pet's odor without tear off your carpet! I ordered his service last summer, but it didn't clean well. I had to order another company to clean again. The 2nd company cleaned out more dog hair and fleas. After contacting Terry, he said only tear off carpet can remove pet's odor. A complain was filed with BBB. But Terry tried to ignore or denial. Even after agreed to reimburse my extra payment he disappear since then. My mistake was: trusted ads and focused on 50% discount! We paid to have our carpets cleaned and had the $2,000 in cash my daughter had been diligently saving for a car stolen from her bedroom (kept in a hidden safe place). The person who came to clean brought a "friend to help" they both seemed high on drugs. We watched them carefully but did not follow them upstairs (where they proceeded to steal our money). We tried countless times to call the owner who never returned any calls. We had to involve the police who also had a very difficult time getting a hold of anyone at this company. We finally had to file a home owner claim but could only recover half of my daughter's money. What type of company hires thieves and then doesn't make it right! I initially found Terry's Carpet Care in 2012 in an ad with a special promotion. They cleaned two rooms, stairs, and two couches for a reasonable price and did a very nice job. So I used them again for the same job. They did the work for the same price as three years ago, and once again, we are pleased with the job. They were easy to work with in scheduling, answering questions, showed up on time on the right day, and called just before arriving. Robert was polite and efficient. Terry's cleaned our carpets a couple months ago, and destroyed our hardwood floors in the process. The technicians spilled and dripped chemicals all over our hardwood floors when moving their equipment to the back of the house to clean the living room carpet. They came back once to look at the damage they caused, and stated they would get back to us to get them fixed. They never called us back, and wouldn't answer our calls. We tried reaching them for weeks, and had zero luck. We ended up having to refinish our entire first floor hardwoods because of the damage they caused. read more

They never answer their phone... when I set up my appt, I asked, by text, like I said they dont answer their phone, to set up for my neighbor at the same time. He texted me back, gave me a time, but when they got here the guy wasn't scheduled to do my neighbors. When we called to ask he said we didnt set anything up. I forwarded the texts of our conversation and he didn't respond...no apology....they did show up the following day to do it, but we were both not happy...carpets did NOT look clean! Neighbor called to complain, they said they would come back and redo...between 10 and 12...then called to say it would be between 12 and 2...we waited allllll day and tried to call and text several times, but no response..never heard from them again, again no apology. Go to a different carpet cleaner. Poor customer service from the owner Terry. Charges were not made clear to me and it was not made clear that I was agreeing to an additional carpet treatment that is an additional charge (doubling my total cost). Not until the end did I see the charge. On their website it claims they do not have hidden charges, well in my case there was. I called to complain to the owner who did not apologize and said that it was basically my fault. He did finally reduce the extra charge, but did not take it off completely. POOR customer service. Terry, Mistakes do happen by your staff, but if they do happen don't try to blame the customer. read more

We have pets in the house so we asked (multiple times) that they call before they get here so that we can move the animals. He arrives early and didn't call. He finally calls and rudely says that we need to move the car out of the driveway. After we told him that it will be a few minutes to round up the pets it all went south. After rounding up the pets I had to go out and tell him that he can back in to our driveway after illegally parking. After he parks in our driveway he proceeds to smoke in our driveway. When asked to stop it didn't seem like he heard. Once he came in to our house, first he didn't even tell us his name, second he didn't have any shoe covers, and third was very short with me and my daughter. He cleaned the house rather fast for the size but left the carpets VERY wet. Especially the stairs. When he was finished he was still rude in telling us how the carpet was in poor condition and that hindered his job. He was more concerned with the money. I went around the house to check his work and he began yelling out for me to come down! I told him that I would be own shortly but he persisted to tell me that I needed to come down. I wasn't even down the stairs before he asked me if I had a check! When I asked him to go over the receipt he did it so fast that he had to repeat it! Didn't bother to tell me how much and to who the check would be too until I asked. When I called Terry he apologized for the poor service and rude employee and promised that he would come and do our carpets again himself. If you go with this company, make sure that you have Terry himself. read more

Very BAD experience! Only clean half part of each closet carpet without sliding door. I guess he didn't know how to make a turn with his machine, because every corner where needs a little bit effort to reach was not cleaned. Also, the crew broke one of my bi-folding closet doors when he cleaned my upstair carpet. When I found out (after he left, because the carpet was wet at that time, I didn't go upstairs to check before he left-I should'v done that!), I called the office to ask about it. The manager shirked their responsiblity at first (he said it was ME to break the door), and promised to call me back after he asked the crew, but NEVER called back. I was told 1-2 weeks to clean my area rug. After they had it for 3 weeks I had trouble getting them to return it to me. Finally, it was returned and it smelled like fried food and cigarette smoke. The person cleaning left a spot about a foot long and six inches wide. I tried to reach the company for two weeks. Each time the voice mail was full so I was unable to leave a message. That is the voicemail on his THREE phone numbers so I couldn't leave a message. Impossible to get hold of. What a way to run a business. Just had my 800 sq ft apt "cleaned" for the second time in 8 mos and its the last time by Terry's. Cut rate service with no attention to detail or care to provide quality work...just get in and get out and not be concerned with scheduled appointments. Not to mention the water mess left behind in the kitchen. Very disappointed and even with coupon the services was more expensive then expected (added costs). Unprofessional and unorganized company; how this place is still in business is a surprise. A few hundred dollars later (add a few times Terry's Carpet Care had to come out to even finish job) and we are having to use someone else to come in and do the job right. After scheduling and preparing my home for Terry's to clean my carpets, Terry's tech called me at work to inform me that my dogs are barking to loud for him to work. The bottom floor where my dogs are located (in a kennel) is all hard surface so the only place that required cleaning was the upstairs away from where he would be. One of my dogs is a small black lab (45 lbs.) and the other is a toy poodle cross. The tech said he was worried that one of my neighbors might call the police due to the barking. I informed him that my neighbors were aware of my dogs and that he was supposed to be there so there should be no issue. Still, he declined. I'm glad he did. I wonder why he was so afraid of police showing up? I feel that it is absurd for anyone that is legally aloud to be at a premises to have such concerns. I would not ever call this service again due to the amount of time and effort put into this turning out to be a total waste, not to mention the other concerns I have. BEWARE!! read more
