Chem-Dry charged me for professional carpet cleaning and three gallons of its specialized P.U.R.T…read more urine treatment for a tiny 10-by-10-foot bedroom. The result? The carpet looked dirtier, the urine odor was completely unchanged, and the company's customer service was every bit as ineffective as the cleaning. The technician initially claimed that this approximately 100-square-foot room needed six gallons of P.U.R.T. I reluctantly paid for three gallons because of the excessive added cost. Despite this supposedly substantial treatment, there was not even a minimal reduction in odor after the carpet had fully dried. When I called to report the failed service, the representative's response was essentially that the technician was experienced, so there was nothing they were willing to do. She promised to speak with him and call me back. She never did. Chem-Dry then stopped answering and returning my calls entirely. Since Chem-Dry apparently had no interest in either fixing the problem or standing behind its work, I purchased my own product and treated the room myself. Approximately one gallon of Rocco & Roxie eliminated the odor that three gallons of Chem-Dry's expensive "professional" treatment had failed to improve at all. So, to summarize: Chem-Dry left my carpet looking worse, failed to reduce the odor, sold me an extraordinary amount of treatment for a very small room, ignored my complaint, broke its promise to follow up, and left me to pay more money and do the job myself. The only thing Chem-Dry successfully removed was money from my bank account. I would not recommend this company to anyone who expects clean carpet, effective odor treatment, responsive customer service, or accountability when the service fails.
