I purchased a model S Plaid and have experienced multiple problems with it. I love the car, but the service center is terrible. They never answer the phone or app messages. I took it in for a cracked windshield and they installed a defective windshield, then forgot to glue the rear view mirror in place. Passenger door handle stopped working and was repaired incorrectly. They don't always have a loaner car. The shop seems constantly overwhelmed. Overall, not close to what I'd expect from a luxury car. Will not purchase another Tesla. read more

When they say "Touchless Experience" and that I can have my service "without having to interact directly with any Tesla staff" I definitely agree because after interacting with the advisor for 1 minute when I dropped my car, I never interacted with them again! They never responded to my messages or calls about the status of my car it was all automated responses. The service seems to be good except that during the service they inadvertently damaged some trim and put it back without noticing that it was damaged, luckily I noticed and they were able to rectify the issue once I informed them. They topped off my washer fluid and refilled my tires which is really nice but I just noticed that one of the tire valve stem caps is a different color than my original one, not sure what happened there, maybe they lost it and replaced it but I might have to go back to see if they have a similar one... They definitely did an OK job at taking care of my car, I definitely expect some scratches when brining a car into the dealer. Things I noticed: new scratches in a few areas, black grease in several areas, a new small gouge/paint chipped in the paint on my rear bumper (not there when I dropped it off). Not trying to be super picky but I don't mind scratches but there was chipped paint on my bumper which was kind of disappointing. All in all OK, but after trying out different service centers, I definitely feel like Vallejo has the better communication and quality of service from my experiences so far. Customer service here is horrible,.. we had our 1 tire fixed there because we had a nail on it which went well,.. but the sensor fault came in after we had the tire fixed but the guy who helped us was rushing on our problem and is not really paying attention to us, but when speaking to other customers, he was more attentive and more courteous,.. idk what the reason is, but oh well,.. i guess we dont look like tesla owners i guess,.. read more

My car was towed to this location to fix a flat. A few hours later I was sent an invoice for a tire replacement for a 21" wheel with summer tires when my car has 20" wheels. Since then, I have sent messages, called several numbers and after 24Hs I have no response whatsoever from anyone. I have no information when the car will be ready or what's going on. It is impossible to talk to a human. Customer service from Tesla has been going down the drain from previous experiences. Tesla delivers the worst user experience outside the car sadly. read more

Getting a simple part replaced (which is covered under warranty) was like pulling teeth. Despite saying they would have the part in on the next day, they failed to deliver. It took over 3 weeks to get a part, and required me to follow up as they would forget that this was an open order. Then they schedule a mobile repair for me. On the day of the repair (which I cleared my calendar for) they told me I should call them to schedule a repair. I called to clarify- letting them know that we were expecting them here now. Have you tried getting in touch with them on the phone? It's impossible. Finally after speaking with Matt - he suggested my communication was lacking. Im sorry, but it's not my job to keep Tesla apprised of my service needs time and time again. I expect that once we align on a plan, that they deliver. And I STILL don't have my car repaired and no appointment scheduled. They want to avoid giving you a Tesla car rental, or another car rental and instead want you to take Ubers around town. Which is VERY unsafe giving COVID. They tell you they wont clean the inside of your car anymore because of COVID but then expect that you get into a car WITH a stranger to get around town. They are cheap, looking to cut corners, and have no sense of customer service. GO elsewhere! read more

Terrible service, unavailable by phone, and the app does not allow for deletions of estimated repairs if you don't want all the repairs listed. No waiting room out of the cold. No personalization from the reps. Can't compare with other service centers of other makes of automobiles. Radical changes are necessary to compete in an expanding electric car market. Two of our door handles didn't open and that cost $600 to repair. I had seen that this was a problem online and said to replace all 4 as I wouldn't have to make a second service call. They said they could not. 3 weeks later the other door handles wouldn't open. Second call. My driver's window won't close after the door is open. $300 repair, but no choice. The right front headlight turns itself off intermittently when driving. Cost to repair? An astounding $3,000+! Try to decline online and the app won't let you so I called and left a message on the robo phone. Waiting to hear so I will drive to Berkeley to decline the service. Shameful for a brand that wants to call itself a premium product. The car is alright, but the maintenance is a disaster at this center. read more

Showed up a bit early for my appointment time and I was told by three people that I had to wait for "my" service advisor to show up to work before they could check me in (this is while a bunch of idle service advisors are just walking around with their laptops clearly with no cars to check in)I asked them if they could just take the car/key and have the service advisor call me when he gets in? They said they will do that. Forty minutes passed and as I waited I raised the issue to the service guy behind the line sitting there on his computer. The guy was completely arrogant and pompous and told me I had to wait for the advisor to come to work. I said why can't I just leave the car and have him call me. There is absolutely no reason why I needed to just stand there or physically meet the guy. His response - "You can take your car and leave" No apologies, no accommodations - just a rude person. I've been to a couple of other service centers, and never had a experience like this. This place is absolutely terrible, will not visit again. read more

Following up on my ongoing service "experience", the Gilman st service center called me the second day after leaving my car with them, after failing to respond to any inquiries on my first day, to say they would be done with my car- almost certainly- by the end if the day (Friday). I responded that I couldn't pick up that day, and they told me they would leave the car in the lot so I could pick it up with my other key Saturday. They later sent a text saying the car was done. I paid via the ap and responded to the text asking them to confirm the car would be in the lot. No response, as always. On arrival Saturday- no car in the lot. read more

I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card to get my money back. I don't understand why Tesla had to put me through this. It was incredibly unprofessional. I should mention that they originally held my car hostage saying that I had to provide a credit card or I couldn't get my car back. I was told that if I didn't do it on the spot and go talk to an attorney first, they would charge me additional storage fees. I truly don't understand how they can be so bad with customer service. read more

I purchased a model y in Nov of 2021. The original ship date was May of 2022. Then June, then July, then September now October 2022. They have never provided any explanation for the push out. They are selling and shipping other cars in a month. I feel swindled by them and think they are doing this in hopes I cancel because there have been several price increases or hope I upgrade to a higher priced vehicle. Truly a poorly run business model that is just taking advantage of consumers. I would not have purchased this if they originally stated it was a 11 month delivery timeframe but they only would provide updates after I could make informed decisions and now it seems so close but it has pushed out 6 times after hit the ship date which was even more frustrating. Their customer support cannot provide any real info and only state what the new ship date is which is clearly not real. read more

They totally suck! I had my car there for a week and they were supposed to replace a part. They did nothing and now I am going to have to go back again. I think they are way understaffed and Tesla does not care. My GF just bought a new Model 3 and she could not even call to change the pickup time. She had 2 days advanced notice and it was during my daughters birthday party. They also take an hour to answer the roadside assistance number. Tesla service sucks! read more

Great job at the Berkeley service center! Everyone honored COVID distancing while also doing the work needed ASAP. Granted, it was minor in my case (some issues with my back license plate), but they also did some quick recall work and wrapped in 30 minutes. Expert and friendly group. read more

Love the car, very disappointed with this latest service experience. We've had our model S for three years and it has been wonderful. Unfortunately, the main computer went out two months after the warranty expired. Even though the car only has 30,000 miles on it, Tesla said too bad, so sad, you're paying for it. OK, I can deal with that. What I could not deal with was the service experience. Communications were "delayed." It took at least a day In between communications with our service representative. When we did speak, he was very helpful and knowledgeable. The bottom line is... My biggest complaint is that after three weeks in the shop (mostly waiting for parts) we picked up the car, paid $2500 to a cashier and walked outside to get the car. There was no service advisor to speak to that would explain to us the car needed to be completely re-programmed, which we had no clue how to do and now, two weeks later, we still have not completely done. Equally important, however, the car was absolutely filthy and looked like it had been driven through a sandstorm. We literally could not see out the windshield. This one time $100,000 car looked disgusting as if it had been treated like it was an abandoned wreck like most of those parked around their service center. It was absolutely disrespectful and not consistent with the $2500 we just paid them. They could've at least cleaned the windshield, which we had to do before we drove the car. Of course, we will use them again the next time we need service - but only because we have no other choice. But the next $100,000 car we buy we will have another choice. And this experience may influence our thoughts in that regard. read more

Tesla Berkeley Service Sucks! After booking appointment and sending messages back and forth and I'm telling them I have multiple teslas they have wrong one and to give me a call give a call no one I find number to call a guy said Richard will be my advisor for my appointment and put me on hold said rick is on lunch I ask for mgr Tim or Jim whatever his name is I was on hold for over 20 min guy never came back to line hung up and got Rebecca and she said yes we have wrong car and you would need to cancel and redo in app I said well obviously that's been a problem I'm on the phone with you now can you keep same appointment just switch the VINS to right car seeing my appointment is not for 4 days she said no I would need to start over. I said I'm on the phone with you now how can you rectify it she said it needs to be done manually thru the app. customer service and service teams sucks here choose another location and I'm going back to the guy who hired Tim and tell him how horrible of an experience it was and not to refer anybody else. read more

Horrible horrible customer service. I'm all for the ease of automated everything but if you lose your value and the true essence of good customer service for the convenience of being all automated, maybe your company needs to rethink your core values. I brought my car in for a windshield repair. It was a scheduled repair so one would assume that since it is scheduled, the parts are available. Be that as it may, they gave me an estimated time of completion on Tuesday 10/26 at 430 pm. Did not hear anything from them until I called at 440. Even then, being all automated, it was painful to reach a live person to speak with who told me that the estimated time of completion was the following day at 930 am. No updates at all from this trash of a service center. Come following day, still no call from the service center that I had to do all the work to finally get a hold of them. They told me someone was gonna call me because they are with a customer, and did they? Of course not! Just sent me a chat message that they are waiting for availability of parts and if I want to pick it up, it's ready to go?!? When I asked if the repair was done, NO RESPONSE!!! So disappointed with my experience. I have enjoyed my car but the service advisors need in this service center need retraining on customer service. To top it all, they cancelled my Uber voucher. I can pay for Uber fine, but that's the least they can do for the inconvenience of keeping me car-less for 2 days and they canceL it?! Horrible!! Be mindful of Friday appointments, you might be without your car for the weekend! I dropped my car off Friday morning for a windshield replacement. I received detailed guidance for contactless check-in through the Tesla app. I was further notified I would receive alerts through the Tesla app when my car would be ready for pick-up. The initial estimate for pick up was set at 4pm. At 4:52pm I received an alert my car was ready for pickup, payment was requested. I made the payment immediately and sent a message in the app, asking for guidance on picking up my car since the shop was closing at 5pm. I incorrectly assumed my car would be waiting for me when I arrived, assumed I'd be able to pick-up just as easy as I dropped of. WRONG! To my dismay, the shop was closed for the weekend and my car was locked inside. The app reported my car was available and yet I could see through the app the windows were open and the battery was draining. When I complained Monday morning about being without my car for the weekend without notice, the service team apologized, explained the service professional assigned to my car had to leave work early on Friday, did not assign my car for proper check out. I would absolutely accept this reason if he was the only person working that day. I inquired the protocol to ensure paying customers are not inconvenienced by their internal processes. The person I spoke with said they did not know the answer. I've requested a call from the manager and am still waiting. It's one thing if the service was for free. They gladly accepted my payment and yet there seems to be an indifference or sense of urgency for the inconvenience caused, lack of appreciation for my time or value for my business. I will consider a different location for future services. read more

I have a 2015 S. Once Off warranty I have had multiple repairs more than once per year. My mileage is lt 30000. To make matters worse long delays in service in Berkeley. And cannot get anyone live on the line unless in accident or completely disabled or unsafe. When new was better car than any gas model I ever had including Lexus, bmw, Etc. but not now! read more

Horrible customer service. This is the last time I take my Tesla model s to this Sevice center. I had taken my vehicle at least 3 times for separate issues and this service center in Berkeley is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. I have been a Tesla owner for almost 9 years and I can't believe how bad their service is at this place. This last visit I went in to have my sunroof repair. I had my vehicle their for a week and on the pick up schedule date they tell me something was replaced but didn't fix the issue. They apologized for the delay and for not fixing the issue. The said the new estimate was going to be emailed to me and should be around $2500 dollars or so. Almost 3 weeks later and no email or response. Finally I asked for a manager and explained the situation on the tesla app and all they did was respond with an estimate of almost 5k. I bought my Tesla November 2018. Within a few months, I had a flicker on my monitor. Thought that was a fluke. 2 weeks ago, my monitor acted up and flickered non stop. I set up a service appointment and the next day, a virtual technician called me to canceled my appointment saying that Tesla will be rolling out a firmware that will fix that up in a few weeks without providing a solution!! As any owner Tesla would know, the monitor control everything. I'm worried about my safety, waiting for a firmware in a few weeks without a solution just doesn't seem right. I went online and filling a temporary solution from fellow owners. I LOVE my Tesla. I think It's the best thing the automobile market has to offer but I have had the worst service from during purchasing, to delivering and now to service ever, and I have owned quite a few new cars before. read more
