This place is a total scam and I feel like I should report them to BBB. I was interested in a used VW Taos and after few texts with a salesperson and confirming the price, which was around $17.9k (also posted on their website as well as on CarGuru), I decided to drive in heavy traffic for about 2 hours to go check it out. We test drove it and I decided to proceed and work on the offer. Then this guy tells me that because the dealership decided to add 3 accessories, like a film coating and some tracking service that allows you to see where the car is on a map, the price is not $17.9k, but more than $22k. I told him I don't care for these "add-ons" and shouldn't be paying for it, as no one asked for it, especially the tracking app, because VW has an app that does that. He confirmed with some manager that the price was indeed ~$23k How does a dealership get away with such illegal behavior - posting a price on their site and others and then casually bump it by over $4000! If they really wanted to install those accessories because they thought it would help sell the car, then publish the actual higher price, so that I would not bother considering it, instead of wasting my time

We traded our car in from a Crosstrek to an outback, and we were very excited about our purchase unfortunately, we were promised to functional keys for my husband and I to drive the car. We received one functional key and the second key was a valet key. Every time my husband tries to use that key it sets off an alarm and makes it look like we are stealing our own car in Oakland. This is not a good sign. We ask the business to give us the second key and they refused to come to a solution for us. They said the second key was broken and should not be setting off the alarm when we made an appointment to get it serviced. They said this key is supposed to do that. It is not made for every day use. We took it to service and they said to gain another key, it would be another four to $500. The manager refuses to talk to us via phone and prefers to only text us through a third person. This is very unprofessional and we have been dealing with this situation for about a month now we wish to be done with it. She refuses to help us because she said she gave us a deal on the car when originally we were promised two keys. This is unacceptable. We never would have traded our car to begin with if we did not get two keys that actually work shame on this business.

I had the pleasure of leasing a new Subaru from Fiorella Cuba, who was outstanding. She was highly informative, explained things clearly, and helped me get the new car that I wanted. The entire team at Albany Subaru was fantastic. I highly recommend them!

Black mold, also in the back seats. This was never present before.

We still have the car 8 years later. Added 60k miles on it along the way with minimal issues as one would with any car.

This dealership did not describe the condition of the car accurately, and allowed a test drive of a vehicle with apparent mechanic and safety issues. Called the dealership and made an appointment to test drive a 2009 Maserati Gran Sport. A close friend of mine wanted to fly in and drive the car home so I agreed to check it out and be a part of the transaction. Spoke with Matt on the phone who assured me the car was in 'mint' condition and that there were no issues with the car. I originally planned to view the vehicle within 24h, but was told the car was at another dealership being shown, but would be 'back soon because he had five other people inquire about it'. No problem, I had expected that maybe a car of this age/caliber, even with a low 51000 miles on it probably needs some work before being offered, and was willing to accept the car with some flaws if the price was right. Showed up two days later with my GF, about 30 mins late to my scheduled test drive (I appreciate the flexibility on a Friday). I was greeted and did a walkaround of the car before going inside. Noticed the under dash panel was missing from the driver side, a cluster of buttons were broken on the dashboard and sunken in, and a parking sticker from the previous owner remained on the window. Ok, maybe it was in for service? The Check Engine light was still illuminated, however Neither Matt nor the salesperson who went on the test drive acknowledged the other person, my GF, with me. It was like she was invisible. Rep made some questionable comments about women while we were on the test drive. Made us raise our eyebrows and ask "what year is it again?" The rep on the test drive talked the entire time - was hard to concentrate on the vehicle condition but did quiet down after I asked him twice. What I was able to discern: the car sounded awesome. It is a Maserati after all, but had been in at least one front end collision. The alignment was off and the car pulled to one side. The rep on the test drive told me they fixed it at the shop. Fender and hood did not line up, front bumper and grill had visible damage, and distance sensors were going haywire on the test drive. Between this and the CEL, I expected this maybe from a $5000 car on Craigslist, but not a $30k car being offered by a business with such a high Yelp rating. Got back to the dealership to talk to Matt, find out what the story was with the damage and perhaps make a deal given the flaws of the car. Went to park the car, and the parking brake was not functioning. Major safety issue, and probably the final straw. Matt was first very dismissive when I told him of the issues with the car, insistent that it was in reasonable condition. When I pressed Matt, while remaining courteous, about the accident damage and apparent effects on the radar/distance sensors up front, he became very combative and rude. He did not offer to look at the issues I mentioned and raised his voice. Because of their unwillingness to accept responsibility and put a potential customer at risk in a vehicle with apparent safety issues, I cannot recommend this business and would caution anyone in the market for a European automobile to purchase elsewhere.

It seems like it can be good in the right circumstance, but it's worth being a bit careful about it. A friend highly recommended the advisor, saying that they'd saved her a lot of money on her car lease and made the process easy for her. I called and talked for over an hour to the advisor. They were knowledgable and friendly - great customer service. I figured that I may be able to save a little money by looking for a deal myself, but that I wanted to save the time and hassle, so the cost would be worth it. Also, I liked the idea that Cartelligent had access to better deals than I would by purchasing at volume from fleet managers. My plan was to lightly get offer prices myself, compare them to the price Cartelligent got, and then hopefully having validated that they were beating my price sufficiently, I could use them forever and rest assured that it was a worthwhile deal. I reached out to a few dealerships and got opening offers. I was shocked when my Cartelligent advisor came back with an initial price that was worse than three of the five dealerships I'd reached out to, and that was before their $600 fee. When I explained this, they responded a little defensively and asked for proof I had better deals. When I provided it, they came back the next day with an offer $50 a month cheaper than the one they first sent me - a cost difference of $1,800 over the course of the lease! Thank goodness I'd looked on my own and not taken their word for it. The experience shook my faith a bit, so I decided to negotiate with the other dealerships myself and compare. Once I got a bit further into the process, I gave Cartelligent the ability to win my business if they could get to a specific number by dropping their quote a little further. They were unable to do so, so I kept negotiations up elsewhere. Specifically, when I asked if they could get to that number, the whole email they wrote back was "That's awesome. That's a great deal" and that was the last I ever heard from them. With a little bit of work, I ultimately was able to secure a lower price than Cartelligent had before taking their $600 fee into account. Using Cartelligent would have cost me many hundreds of dollars more than negotiating on my own over the course of my lease. At the same time, I was trying to sell my car through them. I did their thorough online process, taking pictures and filling out the form. After it was clear I was going to negotiate a bit and not just take their first price, I stopped hearing about the sale process from the advisor. After the "That's awesome" email, I never heard back from them again, even after asking for updates on the sales process over email. They ultimately never gave me a quote on my car. I think they got mad at me and ghosted me, which I found surprising and unprofessional. It's possible I was able to get an unusually good deal because the EV market is weak right now. The second quote - the one $50 lower - was reasonable, and it did take me a little work to beat it. However, it was clear to me that you should always do your own due diligence and get quotes to check the ones they give you. If you do that, ultimately, you aren't really saving yourself that much work, so I'm not sure the $600 fee is worth it. Edit: David reached out, and we talked about my experience. He sounded as surprised as I was by my experience, and he's looking into it. I was impressed that he would follow up!

I ended up having to call 3 times until I was able to speak with the owner Vahe (sp? ; I'm not sure if he's related to Raj, the previous owner apparently) who refused to give me an estimate over the phone and said he had to 'plug it into my estimate software.' After some additional quibbling, he finally told me that it would probably cost around $600-700 dollars. This amount of money for a simple door and hood swap is ridiculous! It's something I could do on my own time but I just don't live in a place that allows for mechanic work (apartment complex) or access to all the tools. I recall Raj was way nicer and professional about it rather than trying to sound like a used car salesman and sleaze their way into bringing my car to the shop (I would have to ask a friend to bring the spare parts to be swapped since they don't fit in my car, at which point would be difficult to decline the job). Really, really disappointed and I don't think I can recommend this place again. *Update* Very interesting that the owner chose to respond so quickly upon my updated review. Their claim was factually false, as reasons to bring in my car were never discussed over the phone and he repeatedly just stated that he would be plugging in and quoting me whatever his estimate software produced. In fact, they have a button where you can request an estimate right on their Yelp page which makes it even more unbelievable. Would re-iterate to avoid this place like the plague since the new owners obviously did not carryover the honest work from the previous ones.
