Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. After some back and forth with their customer support, they remotely assessed that the inverter failed and they would install a new one for a reasonable price. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. Jose is an excellent employee and my mom had a great experience working with him.

The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. David the technician ended up coming out and found a really serious issue that could have been disastrous had it not been fixed. The communication and quality of the service overall are what really stood out. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

That meant my new system needed to be designed as a non-export system with battery storage. Before choosing Solar Sesame, I had already received three other quotes. My existing provider kept pushing another leased system where I'd continue paying per use. While it was cheaper than PG&E, it was significantly more expensive over the long run than owning the system myself. Another provider told me they couldn't fit enough panels on my roof to meet my energy needs and recommended much more expensive alternatives. A third provider quoted nearly 40% more than another installer for essentially the same system. Solar Sesame stood out immediately. They designed a system that fit all the panels I needed on my roof, met my energy goals, and came in at the best overall price. They also went above and beyond when the federal tax credit rules were changing. They were able to structure the project in a way that effectively preserved those benefits for me, which I really appreciated. Originally, I planned to install just one Tesla Powerwall. After doing more research, I decided I wanted two. I found a competitive online offer, and without any hassle, Solar Sesame matched it by adding the second battery at a heavily discounted price. That flexibility and willingness to work with me made a big impression. Throughout the entire project, the team was transparent, professional, and kept me informed every step of the way. There were a few delays, but they were all related to the PG&E process rather than Solar Sesame. Now that everything is up and running, I'm extremely happy with the system. The installation looks great, my electric bills have been dramatically reduced, and I feel confident I chose the right company. Solar Sesame is a brokerage company, they don't install the panels; they work with another company…read morecalled GoodLeap that installs, maintain and owns the solar panels. There is a 3.59% increase annually to a flat rate fee and a connection fee with the quote. After 25 years of this contract, you can choose to buy the panels (by that time, the panels will be 25 years older), but if you'd like to keep the panels, it'll cost a todays estimate of 900-$1200 to maintain annually. When I did the calculations would $327 monthly for electricity. And even with the panels, there is a $15 connectivity fee to connect to the main grid aka PG&E. So the quote I got is unsustainable for what I'm trying to achieve; which is to be independent from PG&E. Because I used only about $30 of electricity and $15 gas, but have to pay $125 delivery fee from PG&E, and it's just gouging for no reason. And the solar sesame quote I got ended up more expensive in the long run than if I stayed with PG&E. I was referred to an actual government run solar panel installation company through a local state and federal program called Grid Alternatives and is looking forward to a quote from them. was told by a clean energy program that I may be able to get solar panels free of charge and get a electric panel upgrade at no charge if I qualify. After meeting with their rep; they were pressuring me to sign at the meeting. Very aggressive. The solar seasame rep said he has been with the company for 10 years; but solar seasame was established in 2021. Maybe I heard this wrong, but there were a lot of questions unanswered; and a lot of confusion on who and what is getting done. They also use the Tesla battery...which I don't want to support. Unfortunately I will not be going with Solar Sesame.

By the time the solar panels were installed in late 2025, we had signed three contracts with them due to a series of delays dealing with all the idiosyncrasies of our old house. Through it all, our sales contact, Jason Coolman, was patient and knowledgeably answer our questions as they came up. Everyone at Solar Technologies that we worked with was great. They made sure that things went smoothly and on time. We are thrilled with our new solar system. Solar Technologies has been a Bay Area Sunshares vendor for many years and a lot of other reviewers sound like they're as happy as we are. Down the street from us, a large cluster of neighbors hired Solar Technologies and I have only heard good things from those I've spoken to.

Bad bad bad. They were great at making a proposal and getting our money, but there were so many…read moreproblems with the design and installation. We knew they were running against the clock trying to wrap up installations before the tax credit ran out, but now the system is installed and having TONS of problems and they do not respond to calls or emails. We fin called the manufacturer (Enphase) and they sent a technician out to diagnose and turns out Solar Technologies configured our system incorrectly and other problem. Enphase communicated to Solar Technologies what they need to do to solve all of our problems, but Solar Technologies is completely unresponsive. Our batteries only charge up to 17 percent capacity because they didn't set the system up correctly so basically we paid 50k for a system and that system is only functioning a quarter of what it should be. I wish they would refund us for all the capacity that we've missed out on. They are terrible.

My home had solar installed by Sunnova (they were contracted with my home builder), which now is going bankrupt. Sunnova hasn't responded to any inquiries I've had, or helped me even see if my panels are working, for months. So, I basically have an orphan project. I called around to multiple highly ranked solar companies in the area, trying to see if anyone could help, but all of them were either booked out until the end of the year, and/or they didn't take on any projects they themselves didn't install. Rising Sun Electrify was immediately confident when I called them and shared they've taken on multiple orphan projects, so this is not a big deal. They were able to come immediately the next day to check on how my system was set up, then sent me a proposal later that afternoon for how to get my Enphase box commissioned. After I confirmed I was good to go with the proposal, they were able to schedule me in just 2 days later. Truly incredible service, fast, and very competent as well. I am so grateful for Rising Sun Electrify! I'd highly recommend them, *especially* if you have any orphan projects that need help.

My new solar+storage solution that is working great. The foreman, Peter, gave us really personalized attention even after turn-on, including helping us figure out a couple of app glitches.

Pros - The project manager, Billy, has strong supplier connections and was able to get DaVinci tiles at a good price and pass the savings on to us. He also secured competitive pricing for copper gutter guards. - He is technically savvy and very knowledgeable about all aspects of roofing. You feel like you are working with a true industry veteran. - He speaks excellent English and communicates clearly. - When we pointed out areas that needed improvement, he was accommodating and made corrections without pushback. - The estimate was reasonable for this type of project and closely matched typical pricing for similar work in the San Francisco Bay Area. A couple of the other companies we contacted were noticeably higher. - The crew was highly skilled and worked very efficiently. They nearly completed the entire roof in about five days. - The finished roof looks beautiful and the craftsmanship is excellent. - We were given some extra spare roof tiles for future repairs so we won't have to worry about matching issues. Cons - The project started later than expected. We were initially told November or December, but work did not begin until late January. We received only one day of notice before the crew arrived. - Not all potential extra costs were clearly quantified in advance. The contract noted possible added charges for plywood replacement, but we were not shown photos or told about dry rot until the final walkthrough, along with a 1,500 dollar extra charge. The copper gutter guard cost was also not disclosed until then. - The tile quantity was underestimated. The crew ran out of tiles, causing a delay while more were shipped from Kansas. We had to purchase an additional 400 square feet of tiles, increasing the total cost by about 3,500 dollars and extending the timeline. - At the walkthrough, there was no itemized invoice for the additional charges totaling about 10,000 dollars. We were told an itemized statement could be emailed later. It felt unusual to be asked to pay based only on verbal totals. - After the final walkthrough and payment, we were later told we still owed another 1,000 dollars due to a misquote on the extra tile cost. That change after payment did not feel very professional. Overall, although some parts of the process could have been handled better, we are very happy with the quality of the finished roof. We would still choose Moctezuma Roofing again and would recommend them based on the workmanship and final result.

When the crew came out they were on time and very professional and courteous. I would also like to add that it was A very hot day yet, they took their time and did not try to rush or take any short cuts. They sealed off everything in the work area and did a very thorough clean up after the work was done. My wife (architect) and I (engineer) recently finished an extensive remodel of our home. We had not planned for solar energy but when we saw how happy our friends in Saratoga were with their installation, they introduced us to Meo. Meo realized that we had a window of opportunity less than 3 days to do pre-wiring before our roof was going to get installed. He prepared a quote, explained the process including tax rebates, made a recommendation for the panels and capacity and ensured that his part was done in a timely fashion. His commitment to punctuality during the process which took several emails, phone calls and site visit was exceptional. I had virtually no oversight of his work but later audit and questioning made me realize that he had not only done a professional job of installation but decision making with fiduciary responsibility to me. He had handled setting up my service with PG&E for best possible returns for me. This speaks of him as a subject matter expert. This has become important to me as I realize that the home remodel and contracting space is filled with people who bring little to no experience to the job that they do for you. Subsequently I have recommended Meo to another friend and they were impressed with his ability to solve a tricky situation with them and provide them with solar power. We have now had my solar panels for 6 months+ and could not be more happy that we hired Meo to do the job. I recommend Affordable Home Solar with no reservations. Meo came highly recommended around my office. He did my project a couple of years ago, but continues to monitor our system, notifying me as recently as a few months ago of a potential problem (since resolved). During the planning process Meo was extremely responsive to questions and emails, giving clear explanations of options, concise answers about sizing, PG&E minimum service charges, etc. The system he proposed was very competitive on price when compared to larger vendors even though it was similarly sized and used components of similar quality. Installation was smooth, and very quick. I was still hearing "local installers can't deliver on their promises" emails from national vendors while watching Meo get the system inspected and turned on. Overall a great experience, Meo certainly lived up to my coworker's recommendations. read more

We were looking to install solar for our home in Natomas and a friend referred Affordable Home Solar because he had used the company. The company came highly recommended because the company does phenomenal work and very reasonable with the cost. After contacting and getting an estimate from Meo, who was great to deal with as he went through every detail with me on the cost and project. I had checked with other solar companies and Affordable Home Solar saved me over $2000 compared to the other companies. Plus he got the job done within one weekend as others told me it would take over a week! I recommend Sunlight Electrical Solutions…read more My home solar/battery system was having intermittent issues. The company that installed my solar had gone out of business. The owner of that business recommended Sunlight Electrical to fix my system. I spoke with Carlos at Sunlight. He sent out Isaac who seemed very capable. Isaac's assessment was that my system had multiple wiring issues and recommended a service that would require a larger team to complete. He explained why, and I concurred with Isaac's recommendation. Carlos scheduled a larger team to come out the next week. They were led by Jesus, who also seemed quite knowledgeable. Jesus and his team worked diligently for 4 hours. They found more wiring errors as Isaac has predicted. And they found a damaged Tesla MC2 unit on the roof which had cracked. After they completed their repairs, the system started operating better than it ever had before. I estimate that I am now getting an extra 10-15% more power from the solar panels. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. David the technician ended up coming out and found a really serious issue that could have been disastrous had it not been fixed. The communication and quality of the service overall are what really stood out. Between Marlene keeping me informed about the schedule and following up the day after to make sure things were operational to David's work to fix the issue and his communication afterwards and Jeff staying in touch the whole time, it was a great experience. I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

I'm happy to share I referred brother to install solar with Nabu. He was very reluctant, but eventually came around. My roof is difficult to access and they had to come back several times with different ladders but they never gave up and the weren't ever not confident that it could be done easy. Finally the right tools were located. The team was very professional. The install went very well and caused no damage to the roof or my house. The service afterwards has also been great. This is a great value with no cost upfront. PG&E is naturally trying to claw back some sort of a pay increase but so far has been honest at true up. They just increase the price for gas. 5 stars. My experience with Collin was frustrating and confusing. I initially spoke with him about…read moredisconnecting and reinstalling solar panels for an upcoming roofing/expansion project. After learning about the expansion, he strongly encouraged me to meet Benny, a general contractor, because he said Benny was very competitive. I was already in the process of selecting contractors for the expansion but had not signed a contract, so I agreed to let Benny inspect the project and show me how competitive his proposal would be. However, I did not agree that Benny would receive the expansion project, and my main reason for the introduction was still the solar-panel work. I specifically told Collin that Benny did not appear interested in doing only the solar project. Collin assured me that the solar work would have nothing to do with whether Benny received the roofing or expansion work. Based on that assurance, I continued the process and asked Benny to prepare a contract for only the solar portion. When Benny stopped responding, I asked Collin whether I should find another solar contractor. Collin responded, "We can do it," and agreed to contact Benny about preparing the contract. Benny later informed me that the solar price had actually been offered with the expectation that his company would receive the entire addition project. Since I wanted only the solar work, Benny declined the job. I forwarded Benny's response to Collin. Collin apologized for the confusion and said he would call Benny the following day to sort it out, but I never received another update. The main problem was that I specifically asked whether the solar proposal was tied to the larger expansion project and was assured that it was not. I relied on that assurance and lost valuable time. Clear disclosure of the condition from the beginning--and a final follow-up after promising to resolve the issue--would have prevented this experience.
