The team (Tim-Salesman & Jason-GM) did reach out to us and apologize; however, Dan Raba, Sales Manager) Who Jason said would get back to me never really did. He played text games like a 12-year-old schoolgirl. Even when I called and left him a message, he never actually called me back. Not what I would expect out of an adult Sales Manager. Dan should be lucky he does not work for me, as he would be gone for his lack of maturity and ability to follow up with customers. Anyways, the Honda of Libertyville Team did pull through in the end by not being able to locate the floormats and purchased a really nice high-end matching Ford Bronco floormat. Better than expected. In all fairness, they initially tried to play the game of we will get you the carpet mats, or if you remove the review, you can get the high-end mats. I explained to them that I'm kind of about principle, in case you haven't noticed. Strong-arming does not work for me. That's not going to happen, in case you can't tell. I said, put yourself in my shoes during this experience, how would you feel? They said point well taken. So in the end, Team Honda of Libertyville pulled through, but they just got off to a really, and I mean really, slow start. In all fairness, without this post, I'm not certain how things would have ended. But they ended well. The End - Semi-Upset Customer ********************************************************************************************************************** I had a terrible experience with Honda of Libertyville and want to warn anyone considering buying a vehicle there. On March 28, 2026, I purchased a used 2024 Ford Bronco from them. When I first saw the car, it had carpeted floor mats and sunroof covers in the trunk. During the financing process, the dealership took the car to "detail" it. When I got home later that day, the floor mats were gone. My son reached out to our salesman, **Timothy Koszczuk**, about the missing mats, and his response was dismissive -- suggesting we "check the we-owe." There was no "we-owe"; the mats were in the vehicle when we bought it, and the dealership misplaced them. I then spoke to the sales manager, **Zeeshan**, who said he'd look into it but never followed up. After that, I emailed the new general manager, **Jason Bulthuis**, on April 1st, 2026. He didn't reply until I called him on April 3rd, 2026. To his credit, he apologized and agreed the situation wasn't handled properly. Jason said he'd have his used-car sales manager, **Daniel Raba**, take care of it, and even offered to buy a replacement set near my home rather than making me drive back. That sounded great -- until they both stopped responding entirely. GHOSTED AGAIN It's now been well over two weeks, and I've received zero communication despite further calls and emails. Every person I dealt with there has failed to follow up or take responsibility (over a lousy set of $150-$200 car mats on a $45,000 car). Once they make the sale, it seems customer service stops completely. I'll never buy from this group again. Do yourself a favor -- take your business somewhere that values integrity and follow-through. Honda of Libertyville has shown me they do not. I hope the owner of Honda of Libertyville (Murgado Automotive Group, led by CEO Mario Murgado) sees this and knows who he has working for him. Absolutely pathetic !!! Tarnishing his trusted name over a few hundred bucks. Just wait until I pay to have a Blow Up Rat placed outside on the sidewalk protesting on a Saturday, how crappy the service is. I wonder how many deals will turn away. Well over $200 worth, I'm sure. The End - One Angry Customer

I had a very misleading and frustrating experience with Liberty Auto Plaza…read more Before making a 90-minute drive, I spoke multiple times with someone identifying himself as "Jack" from the finance department. He called and texted repeatedly and positioned himself as the person who had personally secured my approval. He told me I was already approved up to $35,000 (including tax, title, and fees) and that I was simply coming in to pick out a vehicle and sign paperwork. He even had me send over my driver's license and pay statements ahead of time "to attach to my file" so everything would be ready when I arrived. I made it very clear that I did not want to travel that far unless this was legitimate, and I was reassured multiple times that the bank had already approved me. As soon as I texted "Jack" to let him know I was on my way, he stopped responding completely. When I arrived, I was told to ask for "Jack." There was no Jack. Instead, I was handed off to a salesperson named Quinton, who asked me to provide all of the same documents again. While sitting with him, I began receiving multiple alerts that lenders were pulling my credit -- confirming that my credit had NOT been run prior to my visit, despite being told I was already approved. During this process, Quinton had an earpiece in and was having unrelated conversations about personal matters (like arranging to have his house power washed) while asking me questions. I had to repeat myself multiple times just to be heard, which made the entire experience feel even more unprofessional. Shortly after, I was told that the "approval" had been reversed and there was nothing they could do. This was clearly not a real approval -- it was simply a tactic to get me into the dealership. To make matters worse, I had already clearly explained: I do NOT have a co-signer I can NOT get a co-signer I only have $1,000 to put down After a 3-hour round trip, nearly $100 in gas, and lost time from work where I would have otherwise made money, I left with nothing and feeling completely defeated. What makes this even more frustrating is that there were vehicles on the lot priced around $12,000 -- and even with those options, they were still unable to structure a deal based on the terms I had already disclosed ahead of time. That tells me this was never a legitimate approval to begin with. This experience was misleading, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. For customers who are already navigating financial challenges, tactics like this are not just frustrating -- they have real financial and emotional consequences. I strongly recommend getting everything in writing and verifying any "approval" independently before visiting this dealership.

During the purchase of my 2026 Hyundai Palisade, the financial terms were handled deceptively. We had agreed on a trade-in value of $34,000, yet the paperwork reflected only $31,000. Additionally, while the total agreed-upon sales price was $60,000, the final documents were inflated to $68,000. Throughout the signing process, the finance manager consistently talked over me to prevent me from reviewing the actual figures. The post-purchase experience has been equally unprofessional. They did not provide the second key to the vehicle, claiming it would be available in a few days. Furthermore, 27 days have passed, and my trade-in vehicle has still not been paid off. I have visited the dealership five times to resolve these issues. During my most recent visit, when I requested the key and an explanation regarding the payoff delay, Tom Wessel was incredibly rude and threatened to call security. I eventually had to contact the police to file a formal complaint. I strongly advise others to avoid this dealership. They rely on deceptive practices and provide poor customer service. I am currently pursuing legal action to address these discrepancies.

I always service my vehicles here and recently purchased a new ascent. I had also purchased several of their premium insurance add-ons. I went to the service area for a windshield ding, tiny door ding, and my passenger mirror dimmer was broken. They sent me to their other service area for most of it. I was then told they were unfamiliar with the insurance I purchased, even though I bought through them. They said I had to call a number which I did. The rep I spoke with explained that it was the service department's responsibility to call and initiate. Service also sent me back to the dealer because they don't work on mirrors. So I go back and all the mechanics have left for the day. So I make an appointment for the next day. Same story, different day. Franco tells me I have to call the number and initiate a claim. Franco eventually takes pictures while the mirror is being looked at and says he will get on it. I'm waiting for about 2 hours on the mirror and they find a pin sized mark from what they guess was a rock and they say they can't do anything because it's cosmetic and that the cosmetic damage needs to be fixed first. So at this stage it seems they didn't even address my initial concern. Which was what looks like a huge internal crack barely visible but more importantly, the dimmer is only dimming half the mirror and it makes it difficult to see out of when driving. Then they try to charge me around $500 for it. Mind you I've had this new vehicle not for very long. I explain that I was under the impression that this was covered under my warranty, either regular or the others that they sold me and that I was not prepared to spend that. I'll say it again - they said they wouldn't address the dimmer malfunction which I assume they are blaming on this pin sized mark which cannot be seen by the naked eye. Then he says they still have to charge me for the inspection which is $250! They ultimately waived the fee but the way I've been nickel and dimed here is ridiculous. Meanwhile, I go back to Franco a couple hours later and he says he hasn't called anyone yet but he would get on it later in the day. It has been over a week now and I have heard nothing from anyone. I regret purchasing from this dealership with all the hassle I've been through over the years of being a local and regular customer and I would honestly in good conscience not recommend them. They could make this right but there is clearly no effort or desire for them to do so, unless I sink more money into them. So, for the time being, I can either give them $500 on top of the $55,000 plus I've already given them which may or may not even address the dimmer malfunction which is what I needed and asked to have looked at, or I can live with it, along with the cosmetic issues I currently have on my new vehicle. Beyond disappointed!
