After thoroughly inspection the technician named Adrian stated that he will need to replaced the strut due to leakage. That being said, they provided a courtesy vehicle, allowing us to carry on with our day at no extra charge, which made things much easier for us. Whoever completed all the work on the vehicle, did an amazing job. The service at Karl Knauz is truly impeccable. From the moment you arrive, you're treated with professionalism, transparency, and genuine care. Kristy from service department is knowledgeable, attentive, and takes the time to explain everything clearly, making the entire experience seamless and stress-free. Gave me a blank key after I paid $117.00 for a NEW key cut and shipped from Germany. They order cut keys at fields bmw 20 minutes down the road. I simply came here since it's closer, They SAID they cut keys at Karl knauz too which is why I brought my registration. When I asked why I was handed a blank key the ugly smelly boy in the parts department I was talking to simply shrugged and didn't even care. I was told my refund would be sent to my address I have still NOT got my refund. I will get my refund or my new key I was SUPPOSED TO GET in other legal ways if means if need be. I have the transaction ID and all the receipts. Corporate bmw is currently investigating the situation as well. If you had any sort of brain in that building I would've had my key and not have called corporate. read more

Just purchased a new X5 from Knauz BMW. The salesperson, Sam Picchetti, made this car buying experience such a pleasure. He went out of his way to answer all of our questions. We were very comfortable with all the decision making. He made us feel right at home. No pressure sales. We would definitely recommend our friends and family to use Sam's sale experience. He made it so easy. We were able to send all our vital information (insurance, driver's licenses, etc.) ahead of time and Sam and his team (Peter) had it all ready to go. If I could leave less than 1 star for the treatment I received from this dealership, I would. What makes this even more disappointing is that I was a loyal returning customer who previously leased three 7 Series BMWs from them. I came back expecting professionalism, honesty, and respect, but instead I experienced one of the most frustrating and dishonest dealership experiences I've ever had. After negotiating a lease deal with Matt Pudlo and scheduling a time to finalize everything, I was contacted the night before and suddenly told the numbers were "wrong." From there, the story kept changing, management got involved, and I was even told how the dealership "needs" to make $8,000-$12,000 profit per deal. That alone told me exactly where their priorities were. Matt Pudlo even felt the need to name fault to another employee named Luke. Trying to be reasonable, I still agreed to revised terms and showed up ready to complete the deal. Instead, I was blindsided with unexpected lease-end charges and claims that my tires were suddenly damaged -- despite another BMW dealership inspecting the car the week before and saying everything was fine. When I expressed my disappointment, the response I received was essentially, "Go to the other dealer." After being ready to lease my fourth 7 Series BMW from this dealership, I left feeling completely unappreciated, misled, and treated like nothing more than a number on a profit sheet. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a dealership and an incredibly disappointing way to treat a loyal customer. read more

At first I was apprehensive about spending the day at the dealership but we were in and out with a brand new car in under an hour. I was completely shocked at how easy and seamless the experience was! Pedro was fantastic and had the car he had picked out for me ready and up front and all we had to do was sign the forms. I have been doing the services on my car at this dealership for almost a year and a half and it has been a lottery ticket every time I go in . Some of the service technicians are great but some don't have the basic knowledge to help the customer . Customer service in sales is great. He was pleasant to deal with and we bought a BMW X1with no drama. Everyone there seemed helpful, and really appreciated Luke, the product specialist who walked up through the tech side of the car which is something we badly needed. read more

They mistakenly sent me parts that i never ordered or had anything to do with , they belonged to someone by the same name but in Texas . They emailed me asking for the parts back , which I said was cool but they would have to send somebody for pick up as I'm not willing to go out of my way for a mistake someone else made . Fair enough right ? I guess it didn't sit right with the guys at Knauz bmw they proceeded to start calling me names through email . Then when I call to try and talk to the guy, Murray/morrey not sure the name explain to me that the one place in the building Tony Rivera works in doesn't have a phone lol but that I could talk to thier boss which literally led to voicemail . It would seem they cover for each other when they start to harass customers or in my case an innocent bystander , truly disgusting behavior from a supposed proffesional TONY RIVERA from shipping and handling department. I woke up to these messages , I had no reason to be addressed that way. Someone there is not in a right state of mind , someone who's willing to get their personal phone , get my email out into his phone then message me to say " your own old bitch". I perched a 2016 BMW X6 used @Maserati in Downers Grove on January 22, 2022. Had problems since day one truck been in the shop 4 major times at Bmw Knawz in lake bluff I been fighting with my warranty and goin back and forth with Maserati in Downers Grove to the point they stop answering my phone calls my truck is currently in the shop needing a engine warranty about to be up January 22, 2024. I'm at the point that I just want my vehicle put back together so I can get it towed out of there and buy my own engine. I've been waiting for Cesar to contact me, but he's on vacation. My husband and I visited this dealership yesterday. Upon waking in, we weren't greeted or acknowledged by anyone. We viewed every car in the showroom while salesmen glanced at us, but did not interact with us. We proceeded to view the cars in the used lot as there are specific models we were looking to test drive as we are looking to buy in the next two weeks. After again, no attempt to be helped or even acknowledged, we left. This is the worst experience we have ever had at a car dealership. We purchased my BMW from Laurel in Westmont 2 weeks ago, and our experience was amazing. Since we live in Gurnee, we decided to head to Lake Bluff now that we are looking for a car for my husband as well. I would rather drive an hour back to Laurel than ever deal with Knauz BMW again. read more

Disappointing experience. I was prepared to move forward with a lease and when I got to the lease contract, found that the price was not explained adequately. The salesperson response was that it was up on his screen and I should have seen it. I was sitting far away from his screen so did not see that the initial downstroke was expected to be $4300. This fact materially impacted my agreement to the monthly payment amount. Once it was raised as an issue, the reaction by salesperson was hostile and defensive in an attempt to transfer culpability to me. I had done multiple previous transactions with dealer and salesperson and mistakenly trusted that salesperson would disclose things to me fully. Don't make that mistake. read more

Purchased BMW part online, I couldn't wait for them to ship. So I drove up in my BMW i3 knowing that they have charging stations. 2 of the stations were in op...ok that sometimes happens. But they had another charging station right next to it that is only turned on by service department. I asked the manager if they could please allow me to charge since it was available and the others were in op. I was told that was only for customers who had their car in service, even though I was picking up BMW parts I guess it fell on deaf ears. I had to drive to another location to charge enough to get home. MIND YOU...I was in a BMW i3 at a BMW Dealership buying BMW Parts.....GO FIGURE!!!!! read more

I paid $2,800 for issue that they were not able to figure out what was happening and fix. I had acceleration issue in my x328d and they replaced 3 parts that were already working. So I am very dissatisfied. I said that they should not charge me but they said I authorized them to solve things that they diagnosed wrong. I think Knauz should stand behind their work. If they don't fix something then I should not have to pay. read more

Am I a ghost? Because the Knauz BMW salespeople definitely must think I am. My mother-in-law and I came into the showroom to look at a new car for her yesterday and the salespeople didn't look up from their cellphones to even say hello during the 20-min we were there. We could literally see three middle-aged male sales reps staring at their phones like it held the secrets to the universe as opposed to giving a simple wave and a "let me know if I can help". This week I have been to 4 BMW dealers looking for a CPO, so I feel I have a solid data set to work from. I let Knauz know I was coming up to see a specific car. When I arrived the sales guy took me to see the car, handed me the key and said almost nothing. Also the car was filthy. Other dealers this week had the cars cleaned and gassed up for me. I said I had driven a similar model with different packages "they drive the same" he said. Then asked me what other car I wanted to see "ok I'll get the key and come back". When he did he said "I'm expecting a delivery you can test drive it yourself". Which is fine by me. However, again, the car was filthy. After the test drive I told him my price range with trade in and that I was pre-approved for a loan "who did you get the loan from, it doesn't matter anyway " then asking about my trade in "we wouldn't take it, sell it to car max". I got the feeling he wanted me out of there. Little did he know that I was ready to make a deal. I've been buying cars for decades and never have I been told that the dealer not only wasn't interested but didn't even bother to take a look at my current car- which is by no means a beater. With so many bmw dealers in Chicago, I suggest you go somewhere where they value you as a customer. read more

A kind of they felt they were too good for our business type of attitude. Not what I'm use to when spending close to 100,000 on a car. I wanted to re-evaluate Knauz BMW in Lake Bluff. Originally didn't have the greatest of service from this dealer, but they have made 'some' changes to their sales staff (getting rid of the not so great car sales people) and I think they are working to improve their image and reputation in the community. One area that could still use improvement is in the final sales process. People that are purchasing a vehicle at this price point don't want to be told when it's a good time for the dealer to have the customer pick up their vehicle. If someone comes in and buys a new BMW, they are looking forward to taking it home with them TODAY, not when it's convenient for the dealer. Final preparation for a customer to take their new car home with them is not impossible, so if need be, educate another finance person to assist if it's a busy day. A busy day is a good thing for a dealer and the last thing you should want is to have a customer leave and go to another dealer that is willing to go that extra step for true FULL Customer Service. I thought this was a place like this had people that were slightly more ethical than your average car dealer. Nope. If you buy a used car, insist on a "PRE PURCHASE INSPECTION." First, I overpaid 5k for a car that I could've bought in MANY other places if I just waited longer or negotiated based on AutoTrader today. Even Patrick in Schaumburg is advertising the same model (but even more upgraded) for 2k less than what I paid right now. But, the price isn't the core issue here. I purchased a CPO car & if you do the same, be VERY careful about EVERYTHING here. They don't have any qualms about lying to your face. In my case, they were incredibly deceptive about the noxious shampoo / chemical odor in the car (and this was the thanks I got for paying an inflated price). First, I said I was not going to take the car home with the smell in it. So, what did they do? They opened all the windows and the sunroof and put it in the garage & aired it out so much that the smell was gone & told me they "steamed it". At the last minute, they oddly told me to trade in my car at Carmax rather than with them to make $200 more (which gave them 3 more hours to air out the car). I said I didn't care about $200, but then Doug had to improvise, saying that "I could have more time with my old car" as if it was a dying pet. I knew it was odd, but I didn't connect the dots. Now, I can see that they wanted me gone while it was aired out more because they knew I wouldn't take it otherwise. The definition of fraud is basically this. So, the car sat in the garage with all windows down and the sunroof open & I thought they had "gotten the smell out" as they said they had. Nope. Two days later, I brought it back & got a loaner and they supposedly detailed the car again. And guess what? The smell came back the next day. Why? Read on... I then took it to a detailer in Barrington who does the cars for MotorWerks, and he said that it seemed like an odor masking bomb was used in the car and in the trunk because the original lessee was possibly a smoker. The trunk was actually a bit sticky, and it turned out to be shampoo residue that was never rinsed out (I thought it was just weird fabric). So, the Barrington guys spent 4-5 hours rinsing out endless amounts of foam from the cabin and trunk. Even all of the leather smelled so bad that when I removed the 3 small rear head rests (for visibility) and put them in my guest room - the whole room smelled like the car! It was THAT strong. People could also smell it on my clothes. Knauz claimed that they only used "Technicians Choice foam" but two detailers said the car smelled nothing like that product. They've all used it & it has no residual odor. So, then Knauz told me the former owner left the smell in the car....another lie. I had the former owner's info from my GPS (that they forgot to delete) so I found his name & asked him what the situation was. He never shampooed his car once. He does have a dog (who peed in there a few times) but the chemical smell & gallons of shampoo residue was 100% Knauz. And then they tried to pretend the smell was gone before I signed the paperwork - leaving me to deal with this headache for MONTHS (or for the life of the car - it's still there since March). Every day, I have to get in this car and get hit in the face with this noxious chemical smell - even after extensive detailing and ozone was used. They paid for the detail in Barrington (thanks for that - the car was already 5k over average so $220 isn't much), but why did they lie twice about "removing" the smell the first two times? My husband drove 50+ miles to test drive a car after repeated confirmations (he confirmed 45 minutes before the appointment too) from these folks that the car is available. He reaches there and the response - oh we just sold the car. These guys don't bother to apologize and give an indifferent shrug. Highly unprofessional or may be some sort of bias - not sure. The Sales Associate's name was Bob Geisheker who was "helping" my husband. If you are booking appointments with these folks, I would recommend confirming every ten minutes (not kidding) esp if you are going to these guys from far off places. My husband ended up wasting 2 hours driving a total of 100 miles for nothing. I was going through other reviews - many have pointed out that they don't keep track of inventory and don't bother to improve this experience. I think BMW needs to reevaluate this place. Update: We actually got much better cars (model, year and features) and much better deals in a couple of friendly and professional places- so definitely recommend checking out other places. read more

I have always admired this dealersip and have purchase a number of BMWs for them. Apparently things have changed with new ownership. I brought my car in fora few needs; rear brakes, valve cover gasket and a transmission sport mode addition. First, they suggested some work that was unnecessary, they were unfamiliar with the common defect that caused the tranny problem and suggested replacing the shifter because it was " probaby the microswitch" to the tune of $1800. That would not have fixed the problem. I told the service advisor that the common problem on e90's is the wires breaking due to a design flaw. I let them do the brakes for safety reasons, they are fine but they never cleared the code. I brought the car directly to Golz Motors in Deerfield wher eI bring my Mercedes and they knew of the problem and repaired it for about $300 bucks. Good as new. Dealers are only for warrantied cars, they cannot diagnose if it doesn't show a code - waste of time and money. read more

Buyer Beware- This dealership doesn't need your business, and their actions belie this fact. Long and short of it: We went in to buy a certified pre-owned X5. We had a sales associate (Bob H.) We discussed the timing of a possible price drop. We were told to wait a week or so then follow up. Initially, Bob responded promptly. Then Bob apparently lost his cell phone and stopped picking up messages at the dealership. After several ignored messages and texts, we phoned the dealership and dealt with a different associate. After three calls back and forth with this associate negotiating the price, he called back and told us this vehicle was sold! Apparently, Knauz doesn't know or keep track of its inventory. We next spoke with the sales manager who gave us a song and dance..."so sorry, Bob's been out of the office, can I help you find a different vehicle" (seriously, he made that suggestion). Save yourself the time and aggravation of being ignored and treated unprofessionally. Head down 41 a few miles to Fields BMW. They will take great care of you. read more

About me: Recently purchased a certified preowned BMW from Knauz. Had an old Acura that was about to croak. I saw this as an expensive purchase that needed patience and guidance as a first time BMW buyer. Came in on Friday. Worked with Jerry for 30 mins. Good test drive, but needed more time. Saturday test drove 2 cars (X1 and X3) with wife and couldn't get the X3 at the right price. We noticed a car that looked nice on our way out but left for lunch. Returned after lunch wanting to test drive. Was ignored by sales for a good 30 mins. Then it was clear we were being rushed because we kept getting snarky remarks about how long we had been there. For a place that has their people have the Golden Rule on their name tags, I did not feel respected by the staff. Seems to me like you need to buy a seriously expensive vehicle within an hour to earn their respect. I will give them another chance in the future but would be skeptical of their "we are an award winning" "do right by the customer" oversell. When it comes down to it I wish they treated me with more respect. One small annoying thing also was that they sold me a car with a quarter tank of gas. Who does that? read more

Everyone was very kind! I called to schedule an oil change and the guy on the phone was extremely pleasant and informative. I never felt rushed through the conversation. When I arrived Jeremy Znidersic greeted me and helped me out every step of the way. Along with an oil change I had a few questions about the X7. Jeremy happily walked around with me to help me find a client adviser since they were not technically opened yet. Bob Geisheker thankful was there early and went out of his way to find an X7 with a V8 I could test drive. The car had just arrived and was still waiting to be detailed but he made it happen for me so I wouldn't have to come back. He spent a great deal of time answering all my questions and showing me all different samples and styles combinations. Thank you Jeremy and service guys for working together to get me out on time!
