Having everything so close and being immersed in the Disney experience made the stay feel extra special. That said, I do think the hotel is starting to feel a little dated and could definitely use some upgrades, especially considering the price you pay. I would highly recommend booking one of the upgraded rooms if your budget allows. Unfortunately, our room also had a concerning issue. It appeared that the previous guest had left pills and medication behind, and they were still there when we arrived. It made me wonder if the room had been prepared in a rush, as this should have been noticed during cleaning. Overall, despite those issues, staying at the Disneyland Hotel for my son's 8th birthday was a dream come true for me and a very special experience for both of us. The magic, atmosphere, and memories we made definitely made it worthwhile. With some room upgrades and more attention to detail during housekeeping, I think this hotel could be even better.

Homewood Suites Anaheim Resort - Convention Center has become our family's go-to hotel for…read moreDisneyland trips, and with three kids, it solves the accommodation problem better than almost any other Hilton property we've found in the area. The hotel is relatively modern and has been maintained extremely well. Rooms have consistently been very clean, and there are a surprising number of configurations designed for larger families. Depending on the room, you'll find bunk beds, separate sleeping areas, and layouts that give mom and dad at least some separation from the kids at the end of the day. That's harder to find around Disneyland than it should be, particularly within the Hilton portfolio. The lobby is large, bright, and airy, with plenty of seating, a good snack/market area, and Disney+ seemingly always playing for the kids. The complimentary breakfast is the typical Homewood Suites buffet, but the breakfast area itself is enormous. It gets very busy in the morning--as you'd expect at a Disneyland hotel--but we've generally been able to find somewhere to sit even during the rush. The pool is OK. Nothing particularly special, but perfectly adequate for letting the kids burn off whatever energy Disneyland somehow failed to extract from them. Service has consistently been friendly and helpful. The property is also surprisingly easy to get in and out of for a hotel this busy. Two elevators keep things moving reasonably well, and multiple exits provide quick access to different parts of the parking lot. Parking is gated and does carry an additional fee, which is worth factoring into the room rate. Disneyland is walkable from the hotel, although I'd put an asterisk next to "walkable." With school-age kids it's very manageable; with toddlers or younger children, the distance becomes considerably less appealing--particularly at the end of a long park day. The location also works well for travelers who aren't visiting Disneyland, as the Anaheim Convention Center is very close. For families, especially loyal Hilton members, this is an outstanding option. There are hotels closer to the parks and certainly hotels with better pools or more upscale amenities, but very few combine the room configurations, cleanliness, breakfast setup, location, and family-friendly common areas as well as this one. While we are moving out of the stage of life where this may be the case, for our previous trips with kids ranging from 2-8, it's served our family, extremely well. -AC

Keep in mind that this is also a college town area with a lot of younger broke students. I always encounter at least one Car of young kids being dumb and reckless. If you do not have to come to the station, do not do it. I should have just driven to Brea closer to home in normal people. They get two stars just because there's food around.

Bathrooms are clean enough and decently well stocked. Parents can grab a seat on one of many benches and there is good visibility as the kids run from area to area. There are baby and regular swings, and one big flat disk that you can lay down on. There are also spider web ropes for climbing. The softball fields are great for running the bases in between games, or flying a kite in the outfield. We tend to come in the evenings when it's cold so we haven't had a chance to use the splash pad but the structures in the area are still available for climbing. Solid choice for running off some kid energy.
