DTD has undergone many changes over the years! It's still a touristy destination, but I've grown to enjoy the latest food and entertainment options as a local. The extensive upgrades over the past couple of years, along with the current growth and expansion plans, are leveling up the Downtown Disney Experience. The latest food options include Din Tai Fung, Earl of Sandwich, Paseo, Centrico, Black Tap, Ballast Point, Parkside Market, and more coming soon! If you're craving snacks, there are churros, corn dogs, Wetzel's Pretzels, Salt & Straw ice cream, Wonderful World of Sweets, and more. There's undoubtedly a place to satisfy your taste buds. Plenty of bars and lounges to suit your needs: Naples, Centrico, and Jazz Kitchen, all with relaxing bar settings. The Disney Resort hotels are also within walking distance and offer more food and bar options. DTD offers plenty of shopping options, including merchandise from Disney and partners, art, clothing, Sephora, Lululemon, and more. Disney fans and visiting guests can be sure to find something to add to their collections. The main stage on the west side of DTD showcases various performers during the day and evening. With a nice area to relax, let the kids loose, and enjoy the atmosphere. On Saturday evenings, live music is also played at the Jazz Kitchen. Some restaurants and shops will honor discounts for Magic Key pass holders. Prices are generally on the premium side since it's on Disney property, but it's worth visiting DTD if any of the food or shopping options interest you. Had a little business in the area (Downey-20 plus min drive) so what a perfect opportunity to drop into Downtown Disney and wait in a hopeful not too long of a line for my Galactic ID! You can opt for any of six classes of id, or you can do what some did and get all of them! I've always admired the visuals, sound, speed, and maneuverability of even the earliest of Tie fighters as seen in Star Wars, so getting my Galactic ID within the Tie Fighter class was an easy call. Be warned! This line can grow to gargantuan proportions! Don't believe me? Google **Disney Galactic Star Wars ID** and see what kind of line/wait your potentially looking at! But the force was with me today! Got in and out with $10 for parking, and $15 bucks for the id. I was probably in line all of a half an hour! But you folks know me by now, so you know what's coming next! The absolute singular reason this line was moving the way it did was without a doubt due to cast member and CSA (CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL STAR) Mariannie-pictured. Her smooth, pleasantly repetitive, and super informative dialogue should be considered the blueprint of Disney cast members when it comes to relaying instructions or information. By me being the middle aged guy that I am, I was admittedly a bit intimidated by getting into the booth, then dealing with God only knows what kind of technology. The way to sit/, sunglasses on or off/ payment ready asap/touch screen tech-of course, etc. some of you probably can do it easy breezy, but it can be a bit unnerving since you want to be conscious of time and courteous to the legions waiting behind you. So many new stores and restaurants have opened up/swapped out. Theres a new stage area and outdoor seating/hang out area for families and people of all ages. There are lively sometimes performances to keep the place high energy and fun. The parking is a bit of work and can get pricey. Don't forget to have your ticketed validated when you shop or eat. You will need to go through security screening so if you plan to meet up with friends or you have a dinner reservation, plan additional time for parking, walking, and security. There's so much to do in Downtown Disney. You can easily spend hours just walking around, taking pictures in front of beautiful displays and planters, shopping and eating. Visit Downtown Disney for a touch of magic, food, and shopping without fully committing to the parks. Think of it like a city walk. Disney is very dynamic, so things are constantly changing. Almost nothing stays the same, and it's very rare that it does. Older restaurants and stores are always being closed with new ones taking its place. They do try to be inclusive by offering diverse food options. There's American food from Black Tap and Ballast Point, Italian food from Naples Ristorante and Napolini, Shanghainese food from Din Tai Fung, Mexican food from Centrico and Paseo, Creole style food from Jazz Kitchen, etc. There's enough options for everyone. There's also endless amount of sweet desserts. Even more restaurants are coming like Porto's, Gordon Ramsey's gastro pub, steakhouses, and BBQ house (as of 2026). Reservations are highly recommended. Don't always expect to get lucky with doing a walk-up. You can book online directly on the website or through the Disneyland app, if it is Disney affiliated. Not all restaurants are Disney affiliated. You'll know if it is if the restaurant doesn't pop up under the reserve dining tab. Larger parties are a bit difficult to accommodate, so wait times might be longer. Friday evenings, weekends, and holidays are extremely busier. Don't be shocked if finding a parking spot is difficult. The Downtown Disney parking lot is also called the Simba parking lot. Make sure to route to this specific parking lot if you're going to Downtown Disney. For whatever reason, if you route to the actual restaurant or shopping store, Apple Maps and Google Maps will route you through Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. And you will be turned away at the gatehouse once you pull up and rerouted to the Simba lot. Some restaurants and shopping stores validate. It depends on where you dine and shop. Just remember to bring your ticket and try to get it validated. Parking prices can be ridiculous. They charge hourly, and there's rarely any accommodations. Once you park, there are arrows and directories everywhere, so you shouldn't get lost. There's many photo opportunities. Almost everywhere has a touch of Disney magic. They have the best decor during Halloween and Christmas. The shopping stores are obviously catered toward resort guests. Curl Surf sells shoes for those who forgot to bring appropriate walking shoes, Lulu Lemon sells comfortable workout attire, Sunglass Hut sells sunglasses, etc. The World of Disney Store is the largest store, and it's the perfect store for all things Disney. read more

Downtown Disney District is an entertainment district located next to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. The area contains shopping and dining both Disney and non-Disney related. There's no theme park ticket required to enter but you'll have to pay for parking. It costs $10 for the first hour but you get an extra 3 hours free if you spend a minimum of $20 at participating shops and restaurants. You will have to go through security screening when you enter and there are multiple points of entry including to/from the park. Some restaurants and shops include but are not limited to Din Tai Fung, Ballast Point, Sephora, Lululemon, sweets shops, and Disney shops. Downtown Disney is such a solid option when you want the Disney vibe without committing to park hours. It's clean, walkable, and filled with a mix of shopping and dining that works whether you're popping in for an hour or staying for dinner. This is a shopping and dining area next to Disneyland. You don't need a ticket to Disneyland in order to eat and shop here. There is a separate parking lot just for downtown Disney customers. If you buy something over $20, you get 3 hours parking validation and if you eat at a table service restaurant, you get validation for 5 hours but the first hour is always $10. The entire district is not that large and you probably could walk one end to the other in 15 minutes. There are several restaurants to choose from, some are fast casual and others are sit down. Lines can get long during peak hours. I was there at 2 pm on a weekday afternoon and Din Tai Fung still had a 6 hour wait. But the selection is not bad, you can get Asian food, hot dogs, Italian, Cajun, desserts, etc. Most of the shops are Disney themed but there are some others scattered throughout. There is a Disney home store where you can find everything under the sun for your home. There is also a Marvel store if you wanted to get your Captain America tees. There's also a Lego store, a Star Wars store and various stores to buy summer clothing and sunglasses. Well overdue on visiting Downtown Disney! This was the first place we went to after arriving in Anaheim and checking into our hotel. They're still celebrating their 70th anniversary and they still had most of their Christmas decorations up, which we were lucky enough to catch. We decided to take a rideshare to and back to save money by not parking on site and paying (some restaurants you visit here will comp you for parking, which didn't include the one we went to). The last time I visited Downtown Disney, I don't remember if you had to pay to park, but that was almost a decade ago. What was also new to me here were the security checkpoints at the entrance. Again, almost a decade since I've been back, so I have no idea if this was here before or not. Entering and exiting was very easy and simple. You'll have plenty of options to explore here, so you don't have to worry too much about being bored! We ate at Naples Ristorante E Bar (highly recommend this place if you haven't been yet) and visited some stores such as the Star Wars Trading Post. Other stores that can be found here are the World of Disney store and the Lego store. The Lego store does exceed crowd capacity at times, so be prepared to stand in line to get in. It will move quickly, however. Downtown Disney will also take you right to the entrances of both Disneyland and California Adventure, which we discovered accidentally. We got a ton of steps in at Downtown Disney before we got even more steps in during our time at Disneyland and California Adventure! We considered our walking both days as our main workout. We'll definitely come back here again next time we visit Disneyland. Lots and lots of options to choose from and this was basically the start of our trip for us. read more

I actually look forward to visiting Downtown Disney almost as much as visiting Disneyland and California Adventure! What's not to love? Restaurants like Ballast Point Brewery, Naples, the new Din Tai Fung and even Paseo. Stores like Avengers Reserves, Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, Lovepop and even a massive Lego store! They even have a Salt and Straw, Pandora, Jamba Juice, Sephora and a Wetzel's Pretzels! So much to offer for everyone! They have different kisoks throughout that sell pins, sunglasses, macarons and slime too! It's always decorated for a theme - this week while visiting it was decorated for the holidays plus Disneyland's 70th Celebration! Everything is pricy as it is Disney, but it is expected. Downtown Disney is a nice place to take a stroll, eat, and more. There is a parking fee when park in their parking lot. We stayed at a nearby hotel, so we walked there. There are security checks before getting inside. Many eateries and different shops to check out. One main thing we came here was to try the beignets at Beignets Expressed! Downtown Disney District has had many new changes since my last visit and it looks great now with added restaurants and shops, and a lawn area to relax or let the kids play. One of the best changes I've seen here is they now have a security clearance area to be able to access the park. The only downside is there's a line. I haven't been to Downtown Disney District in years, so it was lot of fun to visit recently and rediscover how fun this place is. It was the perfect time to visit because Disneyland Resort is celebrating their 70th anniversary, and there's awesome decor all around. It's also Halloween season, which means plenty of spooky super-cute pumpkin decorations. Walking around Downtown Disney made me feel like I was in a small part of Disneyland. I loved visiting the different stores and seeing all the Disney merch. From pins to headbands, the Mouse definitely knows how to reel customers in ;). I also appreciated how there were several restaurants to choose from. As a foodie, I always like when there's variety. They've got Mexican, Italian and even New Orleans inspired restaurants here! Downtown Disney definitely delivers that feeling, especially with the World of Disney store, which is always a highlight. The surrounding shops are thoughtfully themed and do a great job maintaining that classic Disney atmosphere, making it fun to walk around even if you're just browsing. The main drawbacks are the parking and overall size. Unlike Disney Springs in Florida, parking here is not complimentary. The space itself is much smaller, which makes it feel significantly more crowded--especially during peak times. Because of the limited space, driving in the area can feel extremely chaotic, with heavy traffic and congestion as cars and pedestrians compete for the same narrow corridors. Downtown Disney District is doing something right. There does seem to be renovations over the years and I will be happy once everything is settled for awhile. The people who work in the Downtown Disney District interlocutors is welcoming and make you feel like part of the family. Wonderful place to visit and see all the Disney themed stores and restaurants without paying the big bucks. Yes, this does not have rides, but is a great place to walk around, shop, dine, and see all things Disney. Parking is important to know before coming since the main park and the downtown district share the parking areas. They open around 7am or 8am. You want to follow the signs to downtown disney and find the Simba Parking lot. It's the closest and you pay by the hour, however most of the shops give you like a 3 or 4 hour validation if you purchase like $20.00 at a store, or dine at a restaurant. It is really worth it. Parking is $10.00 and no admission fee! They also have Mickey & Friends Parking lot which I believe let's you park for $35.00 for the entire day. You can take a tram ride to downtown from there. There is security at the entrance so be prepared for that as well. It's very secure and the workers are great if you have problems with directions. So on to the district. A few of the places that stood out for dining were Earl of Sandwich, Jazz Kitchen, Black Tap, and Naples. We ate breakfast at Naples and it was great. Lots of others to choose from. They have the wonderful world of sweets shop as well. I think the name was changed, but simple to find. Star wars, Lego, even Sephora and Pandora. Lots of other shops. Came back to California after 4 years to visit my cousin with my husband. And he was kinda tired of the long drive! So instead of the main Disney we decided to take him there. And he actually loved it , I am so glad ! My cousin & we both took like millions of pictures, technically there is not much to do ! Only to eat & spent money on stuff you don't need. It's a great place for kids but tell you the truth I loved it both times ! You don't gotta pay nothing to enter so that's why most probably grown ups loved it ! Downtown Disney's a cool place to walk around with your friends and family during both the daytime and nighttime. There are a variety of shopping places, dining restaurants, & casual food spots for you to check out throughout the area. Parking fees can vary depending on days and passes. When we went during the nighttime, they didn't charge us which was good timing on our end. You do have the chance to a shuttle there after parking or you can just walk back. Overall, a decent hangout spot in the Disneyland area without having to buy tickets to the parks. read more

On Christmas Day, my family arrived here to shop at the Disney store. We found the downturn Disney parking which was free of charge. There was a lot of families heading to Disneyland or California adventures. We haven't been here in years and lots of new additions of stores and restaurants. 4++ The promenade that leads up to the parks and that greets you when you leave the parks. It's filled with fun Disney related retail, eateries, and some fun things to see and do in general. You don't necessarily need to be heading to the one or both of the parks to visit Downtown Disney, but just know that it could be crowded. When I lived in OC, I know I came here a few times to grab food and see concerts (HOB) even if not going to the a park. A big plus is that there are many places you can grab adult beverages from, so if you wanted to take a break from the park midday or get out of the heat, you can go to one of the many oasis' here in the district. In terms of value, there's eateries that fit many different budgets from low end casual eats to some mid to higher end restaurants. For the chains, the pricing is pretty standard where you get elsewhere. There's a field where they have live music as well. I'm not sure of how the schedule works there, but I've seen live music in that area on multiple occasions. Another great thing is that there is the entrance to the Monorail located in DT Disney - an entrance to Disneyland that I've utilized multiple times now. read more

Always so much fun! Whether you are visiting the parks or just want to be close enough and enjoy without the crowds, Downtown Disney has plenty of shops and dining to wander around and kill some time. World of Disney is so fun because you can pick up some of your favorite character merch (some different but also some as available inside the parks). There is also access to the Grand California and the Disneyland Hotel (again if you want to browse through the lobbies or any of their wonderful shopping and dinning). Most of the dining nd shopping areas we have been to the staff is always friendly and helpful. They are there if you need some recommendations like gifts or a bite to eat. Favorite quick service is Earl of Sandwich! Downton Disney will be going under some updates, EOS will be moving locations to make way for the new Porto's coming in. There will also be a new steakhouse coming to town (the pics look super yummy). Lots of stuff to look forward to! Weekends and evenings are considerably more crowded and of course holidays too. Great atmosphere. From the moment we went through security, Oscar was very kind and friendly to us. He made nice conversation and told us to have a good day. Once you get through the entrance, it's so lively! There's a lot of variety in the shops there. From makeup, to sweets and of course Disney merchandise. So many restaurants to choose from too! There's even musicians playing on the stage at night. Overall, it's a great place to hang out on the weekend or to have a break during the week. read more

Where magic exists! Downtown Disney is exhilarating entertainment, unforgettable food, spirited sips, fanciful shopping and magical moments. Yes! Yes! Yes! Let's jump right into this review. Looking for swag (check), Disney theme treats (check), good food (check), and good vibes (check). Take a stroll through Downtown Disneyland for all those things and more. It's magic exposure on a mild budget. Things to know - 1. Parking is hourly UNLESS you make a purchase of $20 or more and you pay $10 for 4 hours... If you dine at one of the sit down restaurants it is $10 for 6 hours. Please validate at the store or restaurant. 2. Clean. Clean. Clean. I always appreciate the cleanliness of Disney attractions. 3. Stores have all the swag. New things. Traditional items. And historical items. 4. Food is delicious with options for all ages and taste buds. 5. Exceptional customer service. Friendly and engaging employees. 6. The parking lot is mayhem. Finding parking can be a challenge. Guests don't park in spaces properly. Not Disney fault but definitely an issue Disney should fix. Put a parking monitor out there or sumthin'. 6. During peak hours or special events make sure you make a reservation for the sit down restaurants. Overall, Downtown Disney is great to visit and enjoy. Note: Downtown Disney is not a large area to walk. When Disneyland isn't on the plans, whats the next thing to do to get the Disney fix-Walk around DTD. Its nice to finally see most of the construction completed compared to last time we were here. They finally finished building up the newly open Din Tai Fung located where the old movie theater was. Loved that new area. They have lawn seating to enjoy the live music. They added an Avenger store and right next to it there is a small food court. Looks like they will be adding a bit more. There are new restaurants and stores they added along side some of our favorites that is still there. Many many great selections to choose from that the whole family will enjoy from food to shopping! Service isn't as magical as if you were in the park but still good. Side note- crowd was surprisingly low. Not crazy packed and security lines were short to none. read more
