Presently staying at the Disneyland Hotel and while our trip hasn't officially ended I am going to give the 5 stars. A few things, from the moment we pulled up Jorge who handles getting the cars in was very kind and helpful. Albert who helped us with our bags took the time to be a conversationalist and actually get to know us. The hotel has been well kept in mid-century decor which is why we chose it (that and the convenience to the rest of the property). All of the classic Disney memorabilia on display was like taking a step back in time (which having never stayed here before was my hope for this hotel). Now, as for the hotel room... We are staying in the Adventureland Tower and I love the smell of the first floor. The models they have on display are true treasure of the past. The room is cozy and just enough space for the 3 of us staying. There is one thing I'd like to address because I read through the complaints others had on their posts... Our room had an AC issue it wasn't terribly hot in the room but, when we called down to guest services they were right on top of it and sent two very nice gentlemen to resolve the issue. All hotels have their own quirks, but I was deeply impressed at how on top of everything the staff had been and for their kindness. While you pay a premium to stay on the property, I have to say through my experience it's been earned. We will be back and we will be staying here again.

We loved the disneyland hotel. First off people saying its too expensive. Yes it is expensive, but when has disney brand ever been cheap. Like everything is extra. Yes staying here cost equivalent to a hotel suite at the Marriott. But if you want to try disneyhotel for the experience go for it. Anyways check in and check out was a breeze. We did the contact less and everything was smooth on the app. We arrived 1am and went straight to our room with no problems and unlock the door with my phone. We stayed on the 11th floor. Next time, we want to request a view of the park with firework views. Our room felt clean and the beds were amazing. I havent slept this good in years. The headboard was a plus. Love the nightlight and musical box. The room is pretty noise canceling We can barely hear the fireworks. We couldnt hear anything expect the toliet flushing from the next room. Room services are impeccable. Everyone we encounter at the hotel were nice and friendly. The pool and waterside was out favorite part. It so big that it didnt feel crowded despite many guest were there. My kids had an awesome time. I took 1 star for the lack of food varieties here. They suggest to use the app but there only 2 places that do pick up orders or its in the parks... None of the restaurants in downtown disney offer this. We plan to stay here again but when we do its too really hang out at the hotel and still have the disney feeling without the disneypark chaos.

First time staying at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel and it won't be our last! Everything from check in to check out went smoothly. We were able to check in at around 8:30-9am which I appreciated sooooo much because my 9 month old was ready for his early nap. I feel like most hotels won't allow that so I am thankful. Our stay was probably during a not so busy week so don't expect an early check in whenever! You check in at the main tower which is the Fantasy Tower and from there, they will direct you to your designated tower. I like being able to walk through the hotel grounds, because you get to see where things are! Like the pool, the restaurants, coffee shop, merch shop. We didn't get to use the pool because it was too chilly. We did eat at Tangaroa Terrace for breakfast morning of check out, which was a-okay. Okay back to our stay. The room was exactly as stated in the booking description. Our room had a balcony, mini fridge, microwave, view of one of the pools, a Murphy bed that was easy to pull down. The bed itself was comfortable! The bathroom was clean, bright and spacious. The water pressure, however, was pretty weak; esp the water pressure from the wink. There is a body mirror for your pre-disney outfit pic. Good amount of drawer/ closet space if needed, too. Overall, I have no bad things to see about my stay at the Disneyland Hotel. I mean, yeah I wish it wasn't $500+ a night but the convenience of it being close to the parks with an infant is worth it.

The Baseline: For a hotel the rooms must be clean/comfortable, the amenities on the property must be usable/convenient, and the service on property must meet the needs for a comfortable stay. Property: This is the OG Disney Hotel with fun amenities. The pool, restaurants, theming, feeling, and general magic of the property comes through. The best part of a Disney property hotel is the short walk you take after your day in the theme parks. Also this hotel is a great area to watch the fireworks and it really makes your hotel experience that much better. Love the Disneyland Hotel! Rooms: The rooms are clean and extremely well kept. The best part of a Disney hotel is the theme you are staying in. The Adventure Tower we stayed in had a strong Jungle Cruise/Adventure Land theme throughout the entire experience. Comfortable beds and though the room has gone through constant rehabs it has been keeping up to accommodate for modern technology and needs. Service: Disney cast members are on super mode at a Disney hotel. Accommodating, friendly, helpful, and out to make your stay magical.

Disneyland Hotel - Classic Disney Stay with Unbeatable Location Staying at Disneyland Hotel is one of those experiences that just completes your Disneyland trip. From the moment we checked in, this hotel delivered that classic Disney feel--but with a modern touch and one huge advantage: location, location, location. --- ### Cast Member Magic (Shoutout Where It's Due) Huge shoutout to Jaqueline at the front desk--truly one of the highlights of our stay. Seeing her throughout our check-in and check-out days made everything feel more personal, and it's those little interactions that remind you why Disney service stands out. --- ### 70th Anniversary Touches The Disneyland 70th anniversary decorations throughout the hotel were beautiful. It added an extra layer of excitement and made the entire resort feel like it was celebrating something special the whole time we were there. --- ### ‍ Location - This Is the Game Changer You really can't beat where this hotel sits. - Steps away from Downtown Disney District - Short walk to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park - Easy access to the Disneyland Monorail No buses. No waiting. Just walk out and you're in the magic. --- ### The Layout - Classic Disney Towers The hotel is made up of four main towers: - Fantasy Tower - Adventure Tower - Frontier Tower - Discovery Tower (DVC Villas - where we stayed) Plus the convention center. We stayed in the Discovery Tower Villas with a mix of Deluxe Studios and a 1-Bedroom--and the rooms were beautiful, spacious, and perfect for our group setup. --- ### Hotel Perks That Actually Matter One of the biggest perks? We received a free Lightning Lane per night of our stay, which was a total game changer. Combined with the Disneyland system (which lets you book across both parks), we were able to stack rides and get so much done. --- ### Dining Options The hotel keeps it simple but solid: - Goofy's Kitchen (character dining staple) - Coffee shop (good coffee, food was just okay--but it gets the job done) - Quick service near Trader Sam's for easy bites It's not overloaded with options--but with Downtown Disney right there, you don't really need it to be. --- ### Pool & Recreation The pool area is awesome, especially for families. - Great pool setup - Steamboat Willie splash pad for kids - Fun, relaxed vibe for downtime between park days --- ### Final Thoughts The Disneyland Hotel hits that perfect balance of Disney charm + convenience. Is it the most luxurious hotel on property? No--that title probably goes to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. But in terms of overall experience, location, and that classic Disney feel? It's hard to beat. This has easily become one of our favorite places to stay at Disneyland--and we'll absolutely be back!

Service - from time of check in to check out, the staff was amazing. Thank you to Brittany for changing our room to a king. We were a big group and the staff ensured that we made it to our hall inside the park with no issues. The room - we were in the original tower. The room was very basic but I loved Disneys touch throughout the room. From the headboard, to the faucet handles to the light fixtures it was Disney all the way. The house keeping staff was great The room was always cleaned and maintained with care. We overlooked the pool area but we didn't hear noise from the area. The grounds - always immaculate and very well maintained. We enjoyed the early admission to the park as a perk for staying at the hotel. I like that Downrown Disney was within walking distance but still a distance that you were outbid the crowds.

Wow. Magical, impeccable, memorable are three words that describe our weekend stay at the Disneyland hotel. The moment you step on property, you can feel the effort and attention to detail employees put into this gorgeous hotel. I loved the different towers with themes, the iconic monorail water slides and pools. There's a private pool for the tower I stayed in along with a splash pad for littles. All the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. I feel like everyone who works here loves their job. Everyone was in a happy mood haha. The suites are so clean. Our room had a kitchen which was nice even though we ate out most of the time. The price to stay here is high but it's so worth the convenience being walking distance to downtown Disney and the parks.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Disneyland Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the bell hops were incredibly helpful--holding our luggage before check-in so we could start enjoying our trip right away, and again after check-out so we could relax and have lunch without stress. Their kindness really set the tone for our trip. Our two-year-old twins especially loved the splash pad--it was the perfect place for them to cool off and play. This was our boys' very first Disneyland trip, and the hotel made it so memorable. We're already looking forward to making many more family memories here in the future!

Room/ beds - someone is excited for the park...

It's the official Disneyland hotel that's located right next to the parks and Downtown Disney. There's definitely that Disney aura I get when I walk through this place. I can only assume this place had a few renovations since opening, but they do keep a lot of the decor and vintage displays around to show its history. As of the time I am writing this review, I've been here a lot of times: - One time I stayed here overnight with family because we were going to the parks the next day. Fond memories, cause I was there with my nieces. - a few other times, I was invited to a holiday party by a very prominent video game company in the area. They've had their holiday party at this location multiple times and I got invited to a few of them so much fun! - most recently, I was here for a breakfast/brunch picnic for my own company picnic. We were treated to a breakfast then tickets to Disneyland afterwards. I have to say the quality of food was pretty solid. Better than I expected for a hotel, brunch buffet type thing. The eggs are fluffy. The bacon was delicious and the fruit was fresh. Not much more you can ask. All in all, a really convenient place to stay if you were visiting the parks or a great location for hosting a company party. The logistics always seem to be very easy and organized. It's also home to the fun tiki bar that myself and lots of friends have visited. As a consumer, I would say the pricing would make my mind on whether to stay here or not, but honestly, I've never had a bad experience here.

We planned a little getaway to Disneyland as part of our stay cation. Haven't a 2-year old and a 8-year old, I wanted to have nearby access for naps as well as being able to get to and from the hotel at the beginning or end of our day (via the Monorail). I was upgraded to a pool view room as a surprise. Our room was (actually a conjoined room with what I could hear another infant in the next room, maybe that's why?). We try to travel with a sound machine and it comes in handy. We could occasionally hear the curtains open/close but not too noisy. We were greeted by a personalized Welcome greeting on the Disney screen. We had access to the Disney Channel or you could choose to stream from your phone to the TV. The beds were pretty comfy just a little high off the ground for us short people. The room itself was clean except for a water bottle container under the bed. The shower pressure was good but the ceiling looked a little ragged. My husband pointed out the swelling on the bottom of the bathroom door. The hotel is huge. We didn't get to explore the Tiki restaurant/bar as we had planned due to timing. But the hotel has a coffee shop right next to Goofy's Kitchen (make reservations in advance). There is a gift shop and a snack shop in the hotel Lobby. We stayed in the Fantasy Tower but there were 2 other towers that we didn't get to explore. They have different hotel events each day. Disney Walk is just a short walk away where there is a multitude of shops and restaurants. The staff here were generally very friendly. I honestly wish we could have stayed another day but it was out of budget. We stayed 2-nights and enjoyed our time here. In all the years I've been to Disney, I did not have a chance to stay at this hotel. This was a first for me! If you're staying here, it out of convenience to the park. We payed an additional $40/night for parking. Concierge can store your luggage before and after check in to maximize your stay.

We stayed in the Adventure Tower and our experience was nothing short of amazing. Checking in was a breeze! There were plenty of staff at the front desk, all incredibly friendly, and we had zero wait time. We were even able to check in before noon, which was so helpful and made our day so much easier. The room was spotless, tidy, and filled with charming Disney details that made our stay feel truly magical. The hotel offers endless activities and plenty of amenities to enjoy after a day at the parks. They also have a nice restaurant right below with a huge water play area, which was such a fun bonus. They offer valet and have a large self-parking area, which made everything super convenient, though I do feel they could add more handicap parking spots. The location is perfect with about a 10-minute walk to the park gates and only 5 minutes to Downtown Disney. We had a wonderful time and absolutely can't wait to come back!

Disneyland Hotel Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Disneyland Hotel

Does this hotel provide turndown service?

I was upgraded for free to a suite, and they did come by and provide turndown service. It all depends which kind of room you get.

If I'm booked in a club level room, is it still true that I get club access for the full day of arrival and the rest of the day that I check out?

You get access from the time you arrive (even if your room isn't ready) until check out time the day of your departure (11am)

Is there direct access to Disneyland from hotel?

No direct access It is a short walk thru Downtown Disney, or you can take the monorail into Disneyland.

Is there a bar at the pool?

    Yes

Are you allowed to bring outside food to the pool?

    Yes

Are wristbands needed at the pool? could you also go to the pool before the 3PM check in?

No wristband but you need a room key to scan in. However, they did tell us that we were allowed to use the pool when we checked in before 3pm but our room wasn't ready yet.

Is there a reservation system or time limits to use the pool?

No, you are able to use the pool from open to closing time. You do need a room key to open the gait. You will need to make reservations if you want to use their cabana area.

Are there trams that run directly to and from Disneyland park from the hotel? I realize that trams are not operating at the park but thought maybe the hotel trams were working for hotel guest.?

The monorail is currently open from downtown Disney

How much do they hold for incidentals on your card. Also, can you go to the pool before the 3pm checkin?

$250 for incidentals. You can absolutely go to the pool prior to 3pm. Just check in with the front desk when you arrive or do pre check in on the Disneyland app for the key.

Do rooms come with a refrigerator and microwave?

Standard rooms do not come with a microwave, but they do have small refrigerators. Note, when we stayed our refrigerator did not work, the sink stunk from rotting hair, and they up-sold our original suite and downgraded us to a standard room.… Read more

    Is the pool heated?

Yes! It's also a salt water pool, very gentle on your skin and refreshing :-)

Are toddlers okay to go down pool slides by themselves or with an adult?

They are life guards not babysitters. Toddlers should be accompanied by an adult.

Is there a slide, hot tub, & heated pool?

    Yes! They have all three!

Is the Disneyland hotel or paradise pier closer to the parks?

Both are close but the Disneyland Hotel is the closer of the 2 you listed. I've stayed at the Disneyland Hotel many times over the year with the last time being May 2017.

Does the monorail go through the Disneyland hotel?

Not through but it's a very quick walk to the station.

I have a family of 6. My kids are 6, 5, 4 and 1. do I need to book a 1 bedroom suite because a regular bedroom would be fine for us?

Get a suite it will give you some extra room and pay the extra for concierge level. You get small snacks to eat and drink throughout the day

I'm probably asking a very stupid question but does this hotel serve free breakfast?

No there is no free breakfast at any of the Disney hotels in Anaheim.

Is a room upgrade necessary? Are the premium rooms/views that much different than the standard?

You get six different views at the hotel. The main tower fantasy tower the front of the view is valet you also get the view of the fireworks the other side of the fantasy… Read more

The hotel itself feels a bit dated and could use some updates, but honestly, a room is a room--it serves its purpose. My main issue was the lack of communication and professionalism from the staff throughout my stay. For context, I am an IHG Platinum member. One of the benefits of Platinum status is eligibility for early check-in and room upgrades, both of which are subject to availability. I travel frequently and completely understand that these perks are never guaranteed. However, based on my experience and recommendations from hotel staff at other properties, I typically call the night before arrival to request that a note be added to my reservation regarding an early check-in request. The night before my arrival, I called the hotel and spoke with a front desk employee named Daisy. I politely asked if she could add a note to my reservation requesting early check-in. Her only response was, "Early check-in is subject to availability," which I already understood. What confused me was that she never asked for my name, confirmation number, or any information that would allow her to locate my reservation. When I pointed this out and asked how she could add a note without identifying my booking, she still refused to pull up my reservation. The call ended with no note added and a very poor impression of the hotel's customer service. The next morning, after landing around 7:00 AM, I called again hoping to speak with someone else. I was hoping to refresh before the rest of my day. This time I spoke with Elizabeth, who was much more helpful and was able to locate my reservation and add the note. I mentioned my experience from the previous evening, and her immediate response was, "Who said that?" I chose not to name anyone and simply explained what had happened. She told me she would do her best and said I should be able to get into a room around noon. Since I was already nearby, I slowly made my way to the hotel and arrived around 11:30 AM. Elizabeth was not there at the time, so I spoke with a male front desk employee and explained that I had been told a room would likely be available around noon. His immediate response was again, "Who said that?" It felt as though every staff member was more concerned with identifying who had provided information rather than helping the guest in front of them. The lack of communication between employees was becoming increasingly obvious. I then asked if I could at least begin the check-in process and park my car in the garage rather than continue occupying one of the check-in parking spaces. Only then did he ask for my reservation information. In my experience, most hotels are able to begin the check-in process even if the room is not quite ready. After parking and waiting a short while, Elizabeth returned around noon and was able to get me checked in. During check-in, I also requested a late checkout and was told that a 1:00 PM checkout had been approved. The communication issues continued the following day. My partner asked me to confirm our checkout time, so I stopped by the front desk. A male and female employee looked up my reservation and appeared confused, telling me there was no late checkout noted on the account. Once again, I had to explain that it had already been approved. And once again, I was asked who had approved it. Both employees then agreed to honor the 1:00 PM checkout. Even on the day of departure, the confusion persisted. While I was in the shower getting ready to leave, the room phone repeatedly rang. When I finally answered, a front desk employee asked whether I had a late checkout. I replied that I did. My entire stay felt like there was little to no communication between staff members. Every request seemed to require re-explaining the situation, and every interaction was met with questions about which employee had said what rather than a review of the reservation notes. As a loyal IHG member, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I've had. Unfortunately, because of the poor communication and inconsistent customer service, I don't know if I would choose to stay at this property again.

First off the location is great for the parks, it's a doable walk when your feet are still fresh but if you're too tired they have their cute little trolley that drops you off and picks you up from the parks once an hour. It's a very quiet hotel, i've never had any noise issues staying there. The rooms are always clean and the beds are super comfy. Another plus is the A/C's always work great and since they renovated they're in the ceiling so it cools a lot more evenly. They've got a pool and hot tub plus a small wading pool for the little tykes! They've really stepped up their continental breakfast as well. Lots of choices and great things to grab for snacks later inside the park. The staff is always phenomenal and friendly. From front desk, to maids, to groundskeepers and security guards everyone smiles and greets you when walking by. We like a specific area of the hotel and they almost always honor that and are very personable. The price is pretty comparable to other ones in the surrounding area when you factor in parking fees for them. My family is usually willing to pay a little extra for that Candy Cane Inn charm. More affordable than any Disney branded hotel but still that great Disney level customer service.

Like most travelers, we loved the location of this spot and convenience to getting to Disney (my…read moredaughter saw the others in the elevator with Dsney ears and whispered, I think they're going to Disneyland too!). We used this as our base for Aneheim - Disneyland, California Adventure and Knott's Berry Farm. The breakfast was super convenient - we loaded up on fruit (more like berry compote if you go earlier, less variety like just cantaloupe if you wake up late!), various breads, peanut butter, jelly, honey, coffee, yogurts, pancakes, french toast sticks; and oatmeal to stay healthy. Paid using our 12,000 points per night, and needed to pay for the $40/night for parking. While we tried the Toy Story parking and shuttle, the security line was really long at the time we went, and would've been way more convenient to just walk straight down to the parks. We also loved being near the very yummy Chubby Dumplings - just wished it was open later so I could've enjoyed it on my Disney days! I also used the CVS for last minute Disney items we forgot and Starbucks for a birthday drink nearby (otherwise, would've been perfectly happy with the complimentary coffee breakfast!).

The staff here set the bar for what hotel customer service should look like. Over years of stays, I've never had an unfriendly interaction. When something has gone wrong, they've handled it without making me feel like I was asking for too much. The rooms are worn, it's an older property, but the pool, hot tub, and gym check all my boxes. Breakfast is standard Hyatt House fare. The location is fantastic- walking distance to Disney, right next to a Walgreens, CVS across the street for everything you forgot to pack. It's also right next to a mobile order Starbucks so you're ready to grab your caffeine and hit those parks!

I did not eat breakfast but it was well appointed. And the guests seemed to like it. I grab some hot coffee and it was good. My room was a king room on the end, 3rd floor. It was VERY quiet the first 2 nights. VERY. I got 2 great nights of sleep. The AC worked great (it was not a wall unit but a unit by the window). This is a super easy walk to the Toy Story parking lot. My room overlooked that lot. You can walk to the lot, go through security and hop on the Disney bus that lets you out right at the gate. Super convenient. CON-The 3rd night....there were maybe 3 teens staying in the room that connected to my assigned room. There was door connecting. They attempted to enter my room a few times. Which isn't super comfortable for a single, female traveler. Then they returned late (maybe they'd been at grad night?). They woke me up bc I could hear them. Is this the hotels fault? No. But it may cause me to pause when booking in the future. PRO-William and Jovani are the stars at the hotel. They were super friendly Everytime I saw them and asked if I needed anything. (Kevin and Adriana were also friendly).

The hotel staff was very professional and provided options to the third party booker to rectify the issue, but ultimately I ended up keeping the room that was reserved for me. Again, not the hotel's fault at all. Unfortunately, on the morning of my second day staying here I discovered three bites that appeared to be bed bug bites. We immediately contacted the front desk and they were extremely professional and were able to book us another room. I was pretty upset as it cut out 1-2 hours out of Disney since we had to pack our stuff and move...I ended up filing an incident report as it was recommended by Jeovanni to have it documented. Huge props to Jeovanni for his professionalism and assistance with the matter. Mishaps aside, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Comfortable beds (aside from the bed bugs...), decent free breakfast, and I loved the convienence to Disney. The Toy Story parking lot is around the corner so we took the shuttle from there to get to the park.
