We were the only diners for about a half hour and got great service from everyone in the place. Our server was friendly and knowledgable, and very attentive. We ordered miso soup, crab rangoons and the seasoned squid salad for appetizers - all of it was delicious!! The enoki mushrooms in the soup were a nice touch; the rangoon pastry was light and crispy; and the squid was very tender and well seasoned with sesame oil and cucumbers. For our mains we both ordered 'signature rolls'. I had the Red Dragon with spicy tuna, seared tuna, asparagus and roe - it was spicy and fresh, really good. My friend got the Hangover roll with shrimp tempura and cream cheese. It was drizzled with a spicy mayo which she found really spicy, so she scraped most of it off. But she liked the combo and we finished every bite. We would have loved the deep fried cheesecake for dessert but were just too full. Next time!

Brandi behind the desk at Best Western called her manager and they told Expedia to refund the wrong date's fee and gave us a much better price than Expedia tried to charge. It's late and after driving 12 hours, this was not how we wanted to end the day, but the amazing staff here turned a bad situation into smiles on our weary faces. The room is beautiful and the bed is extremely comfortable. THANK YOU BRANDI AND MANAGER! Time to pass out.

Shopping was very fun! We bought T-shirts for the family, hats, magnets and a variety of other things. Best of all was the food. We tried the brisket sandwich and Carolina pulled pork sandwich, along with some Beaver chips (homemade potato chips). We bought fudge to go and it was the best fudge I've ever eaten. The jerky selection was next-level and the jerky we tried was amazing. I really wish we had one closer to home but at least we have one in our home state of Arizona now.

It's a touristy gift shop, with some specialty items, lots of buc-ees branded merch, convenience store style hot food items, coffee, stuff for your car, your pets and you, your kids, your sweetie. I'm not sure if it's a mini mall, an expanded truck stop convenience store, or a glaring testament to consumerism. What makes it different from the usual convenience store might be the bbq cutting station with periodic group shouts from the guys working that area. I have no idea what they were saying, but it happened pretty regularly and you could hear it all over the store. And let's talk about the fudge station. Oh yes .... Winner on that. Still, it's a convenience store, a couple of steps above the norm, but once you get beyond the circus-y vibe, it's an experience that leaves me with the meh mindset for a repeat. Except maybe for that fudge and the people working the checkout counters ...
