The trailer was returned Saturday afternoon. Today my husband received a call from the Milwaukee Police Dept. The "cop" said that the trailer was never returned. So we were confused because A) we def returned the trailer Saturday (they unhitched it from our truck) and the trailer company itself never contacted us to say there was an issue. So I'm scared and panicking because there's a "cop" accusing us of stealing. I couldn't find the return receipt either. So then I'm getting ready to leave work to deal with this! My husband called the company and the man said it was a misunderstanding (one of their employees made a mistake). I call the company to get more details--how do you jump and call the cops on someone and you haven't even investigated anything? How is it now "just a mistake"?? After talking to the owner, he says that his brother, a retired cop, sometimes makes calls like this. So the person who called wasn't even a cop. It is NOT ok to impersonate an officer and accuse people of stealing! The owner kept apologizing as if this was a small mistake.
