She went on and on saying you had to pay right there and I described the man who worked the night before and she just stared at me blankly. I even mentioned charging the room and she was incredibly rude. She even said "well, i didn't look at the receipt", ok? So why are you saying I didn't pay for the toothbrush? The receipt even had the room charge on it! She was being adversarial and rude for no reason.

Lots of businesses close by. The Tesla charger lot was clean and I felt pretty safe. Saw a few homeless people hanging out in front of the Bashas store.

I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by everything from the gorgeous hotel and welcoming staff to the delicious food. I mean seriously... everything was so good! Our service was excellent. We ordered quite a bit of food and our server timed everything perfectly so no meals overlapped, giving us time to digest and enjoy our drinks between courses. A majority of their menu includes nuts, and I have a tree nut allergy. I was able to alter my orders a bit to accommodate my allergy but the level of care the staff provided to put my mind at ease, without me asking mind you, was truly what I would consider above and beyond service. My server made sure what I ordered was safe for me to eat by personally checking food labels as well as speaking with the head chef and then the manager came out to confirm that my orders were nut free AND the staff would be changing gloves to avoid any cross contamination. I mean, wow! After we finished eating, we went to the gift shop (which is a must visit!) and explored the hotel and got to see some truly unique and deeply thoughtful pieces of art by the incredibly talented, Tina Mion. The Staff are super friendly and the place is old, but well kept to a boutique style hotel.. It's old old school.. If you struggle with carrying your luggage up two long flights of stairs, request ground floor.. There is no elevator.. Just FYI.. We were put in the smallest room they have.. Didn't know that until we were told that checking out.. They weren't even fully booked.. The room was small.. The Clark Gable Room.. Who ever stuck us in that room wasn't very nice, just saying.. The bed was hard and difficult to sleep on and the pillows didn't make it much easier either..Also there is only one outlet to charge phones on. There is only a charger/outlet on the table next to sink area. The air conditioner had one speed and didn't cool very well.. It was only 98 degrees outside.. I will tell you the shower room was seperate from the sink which was nice.. The shower was spacious and comfortable to shower in.. The lavender soap is nice too.. The towels were super thick and nice.. Had we been in a bigger or more comfortable room i probably would have given more stars.. To be honest.. Probably won't stop here again..
