Santa Ana, Ca. This is a good place to charge your car, it is easy to find and easy access. The Main Place Mall is close by if you need something to do for 40 minutes. The mall is pretty void of people so my Covid concerns were minimal. The charge rate is good here but only allows 80% fill. This place even adjusted my charge amount from 85% down to 80%. There is also a free charger in the lot closer to the mall, probably a slow charger though. If you arrive and all the stalls are filled, just drive south on Main to the charging station on 5th where there is very little usage. read more

I stopped by for a quick charge before heading back home last week and found it to be a bit longer than normal. This was the first time I had been to a location with an attendant and a 40min max charge time. Not sure how they reinforce the charge time. I checked the availability less than a mile away and by the time I got there the three vacant spots had already been filled. I was lucky that there was only one Tesla before me waiting across from the charging slots so there wasn't much confusion as to who came first. For such a populated mall area, I wish they had more charging stalls but it gets the job done. read more

When this charging station is full or even semi-full, forget it! I rolled up to charge on a Saturday around 1pm, and it took 20 minutes to get 4 miles of charging. I thought it best to spare my precious time, pack it up and coast home. In addition, I noticed that some chargers have been run into and not fixed. Bad juju here. read more

Stopped by this place to Supercharge on our way back from San Diego. It was fairly easy to find in the middle of the night thanks to the glowing red Tesla logos. Located in the MainPlace Mall, it's right off the 5 FWY. Since we were charging in the middle of the night, there wasn't much for us to do. However, if you head towards the mall, you can find some Pokémon Go Gyms and Pokestops to pass the time. The area was also well lit at night, but I didn't notice any trash cans nearby. There's a 40 minute charging maximum on these chargers. The chargers are located right next to the parking structure. If those chargers are full, there's also a set of Urban Chargers that can be found inside the parking structure. Overall, it was a place to charge up on our way back home. Considering it was the middle of the night, there were also other cars charging right next to us. read more

This is a great stop for a variety of reasons: Lots of chargers - don't forget the two inside the structure. Most move very quick. Convenience - there's a Starbucks in this mall, and the bathrooms are open late. If you need to eat, there's decent enough food in the food court Location - it's super easy to get in and out of here. You can come off of the 5/22/57 freeways and be charging in minutes Tesla Drivers - everyone here is a friendly and cool. They are patient and nobody tries to skip the line. The same can't be said for other locations, especially Irvine. read more

I heard how bad it was but choose not to believe the negative hype. I thought maybe I had a chance to charge with 3 available... Right... This is an oddball SC location. There are 12 superchargers here and also the only live on site Tesla Valet in the world. Yup a live person who works for Tesla is directing charging traffic. This location was so busy and there were so many conflicts among people waiting to charge that they hired a valet to sort out the wait line. This location could quadruple the number of chargers and it would still be packed. The valet is a great idea, but wait times can be 10-20 minutes. Two stars off for insufficient number of superchargers and wait time. But one star added for the valet. If you are coming down from LA and have a choice between the 5 and the 405. Try coming down the 405 and using the Westminster Mall SC. It has twice the chargers, and they are not A/B. No waiting. You can mall shop there too just like Main place. read more

I got charged an idling fee of $5 before the charge reached the limit I'd set. So I took a picture of it and complained to Tesla. "Just send us the picture and we'll straighten it out," they told me. Did that 2 weeks ago and never heard back from anyone. Tesla HAS a complaint department...they charge (no kidding) $15 to post to it...WTF? Don't buy a Tesla. I have never given a 1 star rating at a Tesla supercharging station- but this deserves one. I pulled in at 1:30 pm on Friday afternoon and there were 8 cars ahead of me and 2 stations down. There was a valet guy there checking cars in, but said I could park anywhere. I assumed he would let me know when it was my turn. A bunch more cars pulled in after me and again, no parking in any particular order. The valet guy "went to lunch" and that's when all hell broke loose. The lady next to me got my attention to ask me who I was after. I didn't realize the valet had left and said "I don't know! I'm #8 but didn't know who I was following. About 6 of us got out of our cars trying to figure out the order and somehow I ended up taking charge asking who they were after. We were able to figure out 1-4 and 1 person was not in their car. We all worked together to make sure everyone went in order, but a few people got upset. When I thought it was my turn, the lady who had to go to the bathroom said she was before me. What a mess. Of course I let her go and finally it was my turn, which was about 30 mins from when I pulled in. One guy was so desperate he offered me $25 to take my place! No thanks. That's not how it works. The valet guy finally came back around 2:30 and I told him about the situation. All he could say was sorry. They need figure out a way to make this a more efficient way of working. Maybe a sign up sheet to take names down to make sure everyone goes in order. It was a hot mess. Tesla- you should add more stations or have 2 valet people and fix the stations. There are 2 units inside the parking complex that you can see are available before coming back out and waiting. My parents drive a Model X. Their battery capacity is not suitable for long-range driving. Through research we were able to find out that from a 100% charge coming from the house the farthest supercharging station the car could reach while still playing conservatively on range is located at the supercharger in Santa Ana. LOGISTICS Location: On Mainplace Mall situated near a parking garage Capacity: 12 superchargers up to 120kW/hr Being located inside a mall there's a food court if you're hungry and restaurants situated all over the mall. Most notably there's a Starbucks. I'm from San Diego, so the only times that my parents and I have used this supercharger is whenever we made day trips to LA. While my parents have to charge at this point I could theoretically still have enough power to make it to a supercharger in LA, though I use the opportunity to top off. During the day we arrive early in the morning so that there's no line at all (so we don't experience the valet) and at night we come so late (~12am) that we're literally the only cars using the supercharger. It usually takes us less than 30 minutes if battery power is estimated 200 miles, at around 100 miles around 45 minutes. Guess we've been lucky to not experience broken stalls, slow charging or drivers who don't show common courtesy. Con: As it's a high usage SC, during peak times charging is limited to 30 minutes/session or 80% battery fill, whatever comes first. read more

By far the best supercharger in Orange County.... it has 12 stalls, a freaking mall that you can go to for food, bathroom, and shopping!!! I like coming here for a quick charge before leaving OC. Also enjoy meeting the other friendly Tesla owners. This place gets five stars from me! read more

Honestly, I hate almost every single Tesla super charger location out there. Why? 1) lack of spaces available - come on Tesla, you're selling 50k+ model 3's a quarter and the number of super charger locations has barely increased! 2) lots of rude drivers that don't know proper etiquette (such as whoever pulls in first will get that next charging spot, so on and so forth) 3) typically no attendant or anyone to assist with the chaos So WHY in the world is this location a 4* rating? Because they have an ATTENDANT on site until about 8 or 9 every evening! He/she helps control the chaos, keeps track of the order of vehicles, will call you when your spot is ready, AND it's in a shopping mall plaza! read more

Extremely busy Supercharger. We stopped here after a long day at Disneyland since there aren't many charging options where we are staying. We were lucky to find one open stall upon arriving, but there were almost always cars waiting to charge. Everyone seemed very civil about waiting their turn etc. My main gripe is about the charging speed--it never went above 60kW even at a low SOC. Another reviewer mentioned that Tesla told them the speeds are slow because the transformers never get a chance to cool down because of the constant charging. If that's technically true I can see that making sense here. read more

Beware! Once you pull in to supercharge your Tesla, they charge you for parking $2 for every 15 minutes! No signage that states this anywhere! Add that to the cost to charge if you don't have free supercharger miles and it's more than gas! If you do have free supercharger miles, it's still not worth it and cheaper to charge at home. Albeit not as fast. Having to pay to use my free supercharger miles makes referrals worthless. Sorry Tesla, I won't be referring another soul! read more

Almost every time I'm here I can look forward to a nice long wait esp since the model 3s have been out. Even better is when the Tesla monitor tells me there are 4 stalls of 14 open and then I get there and there are 4 cars waiting for a charge - and there are only actually 12 total stalls and one broken. Get it together Tesla Update June 7: while still a mess at least we have had an attendant at this location; apparently tesla is so broke they did away with this guy and there is no added functionality in the app to lock in a spot. I'm feeling less and less confident in tesla every day. read more

Not crazy about the location. It's in a major driveway and difficult to pull in and out. It was our first time here, while waiting in the parking spots, across from the charger, someone came in while we're waiting and took the next charging spot. Not sure if the saw me and the other person but pulled right in. In the future we'll avoid this charger. Maybe the Christmas parking effected this location? read more

One of the newest Superchargers within 20 miles for years. Not quite as many chargers as Westminster or Downey but it's a bit off the beaten path and not widely known of yet. Minutes from both the 605 and 91 freeways so quick easy on and off. Walking steps to many excellent restaurants, Target, Apple store, and Cerritos mall. read more

Busy, tough logistics, slow chargers (?). Upside: The food court is super convenient w/something to please everyone. The shopping is so-so. Given, it was a Saturday afternoon at a shopping mall, I got the last spot at 12:30pm. By 2pm, the queue was 4 cars deep and disorganized. I felt bad for those waiting for chargers, as there's no designated place for the 1st car in line and there's 3 different points of entry to the chargers (creating line-cutting anxiety). Meanwhile, the chargers are situated at the opening of a main parking lot driveway, making it difficult for those backing out of the charging stations to avoid queued up cars and those passing through. Slow chargers? I'm a new owner, so I'm not sure if this is typical, but it seemed longer than usual to charge up my car: It took 1hr and 30min to put on 180miles (I was down to 20miles) on my 75D. Tesla app is helpful, so you don't overstay your visit. read more

This Supercharger receives 3 stars for always being overcrowded, usually has a line, and now this evening 4 of 14 chargers are so damaged that they don't even stick underneath the magnetic hooks, they have to be roped over the chargers indicating their poor charging abilities. It quoted me over 3 hours for 2/3 of a battery charge on my long range Model 3 then after moving to another charger it corrected itself at 1HR. I think these chargers just get too much use through the days and get very little attention and love from Elon and crew. It's about time it receives some TLC. read more

This place is behind Ashley Furniture. You won't see it from the street, turn at the corner at Wells Fargo bank location and follow road, chargers will be on your right.
