Where you can enjoy the amenities and a beautiful sunset view. This hotel has a gorgeous lobby and restaurant. It's kids and pet friendly. A family oriented hotel. I loved that they offered s'mores at the front desk. Blossom the front desk lady was really friendly. The rooms are really cute. But If you're outside looking at the rooms you would think you're in an apartment building because the walkway/hallway is open to the outside. On the other hand you can walk out your room enjoy to e view of the sunrise or sunset. The location is perfect if you plan to go to Santa Cruz beach boardwalk, it's less than 6-7 minute drive. And if you are an early bird you can find plenty of open public metered parking spots. Note: the restaurant staff. I found one server didn't treat us well. For one we were told to come and pick a table. And we found one but it hadn't been cleaned so she told us to wait at the front (when clearly nobody's even waiting at the front) everyone's just walking around. Then a couple of people came after us and they were seated right away. Was not even told go to the front. Like what? I find that rude. I give this entire experience 4 stars. It was nice but not the best. But I'd come back again.

Because the gaff was clearly on my shoulders, management could have shrugged their shoulders and smirked at my blunder. Instead, the front desk team went out of their way to assist me without raising an eyebrow. Calm and friendly, I applaud the professional service I received. As for the hotel itself, the rooms are fresh, modern and clean. When visiting Santa Cruz, I will absolutely stay at Paradox (and promise to show up on the correct day.)

Pros: Location - immediately across the street, less than 5 min walk to boardwalk or beach No complaints about the bed comfort, we all slept well Small parking lot within hotel space, overflow parking next door, had no issues finding a spot Rooms have a microwave, fridge, Keurig. Really nice community balcony with comfortable seating, fire pit overlooking the beach, just off the hotel check in space Front desk staff nice, helpful finding restaurant Cons: Cleanliness - baseboards, shower, floors, everything could've used a deep clean. For this price point ($400/night in July), it should be cleaner. Super steep incline and stairs to get to rooms - if you have mobility issues in your group this may or may not apply to you. TV was annoying, window kept opening on screen saying to download update using Samsung remote (only remote in room was a Dish remote) Overall, room did not reflect price point - scratchy bedding/towels, warped faux wood floors, cruddy dirty baseboards, "landlord special" in bathroom (obvious painting over God knows what). Summary - great spot if you want to just step out of your room and onto beach / boardwalk, but for nicer, cleaner accommodations look elsewhere.

Finding a last-minute hotel for this weekend in Santa Cruz was extremely stressful. I wanted to…read moretake my family for their first summer break weekend, but everything was either fully booked or incredibly expensive. I searched multiple websites, including Expedia, Hotels.com, and Booking.com, and found nothing suitable. Most places available were 5-10 miles away from the beach or had poor reviews, which gave me so much anxiety. Luckily, Casablanca Inn called me back, and Camelia was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond to help accommodate my needs. She found us a two-bedroom with a partial beach view--and at that point, I was so relieved I would have taken anything. But once she explained all the details, I couldn't have been happier! She truly made my day, and my kids' day as well. Thanks to her, we're going to have a wonderful time in Santa Cruz. Thank you so much, Camelia!
