He went over all of my concerns during this service request and even had a tech ride with me prior to the maintenance of my Model 3 to hear the unusual sounds I was experiencing when driving during certain road conditions. All the points I laid out were covered and their team even found something I wasn't aware of. Repairs made were covered under warranty. My car's charge was also topped off. So, to be fair, I must amend my initial review, with the resolution of the issues I experienced: Upon my request I was contact by a manager, Pooja, who conducted herself in a kind and professional manner. She apologized for the wrong estimate I had received and emphasized that the root cause was that all estimates are computer generated but also reviewed by senior staff. Well..., that doesn't track. Of my estimate had been reviewed, how could it possibly be off by over 100%? Since I was stuck between a rock and a hard place, I asked Pooja if there was any way they could make me whole; after several rounds of back and forth I was finally offered $200 off the labor and a free tire rotation, which I accepted. Still, I paid well over $2k and when I finally received the call to pick up the car, I was compelled to pick up it upon within hours on a Saturday instead of Monday morning 'to avoid storage charges'. I found my car parked in the street, dirty inside and out (it was clean when I dropped it off) and later also noticed that the frame of the center screen (which had been replaced) was bent slightly out of shape. In summary, I owe the manager, Pooja, some positive feedback, because she did make an effort and followed up each time she said she would. Beyond that, the overall experience was still not good and not confidence instilling in any way. I wish I could leave a better review, because this is the only Tesla Service Center in reasonable driving distance for me. Made a service appointment a week out was told the repair would cost $66 from Jose. Then once I arrived I was told it wouldn't cost anything. It would be covered under warranty most likely, then 30 minutes later I was told it would actually be around $700. I did not do the repair. I just wasted a day off of work for nothing. Would not recommend the service center. They don't know what they're doing. The service was for a RGB light on the passenger front door. They told me because the windows are tinted. I have been here several times, this last time to replace the 12 volt battery. It has been four years since we bought our Model Y. This is very good, factory batteries tend to last longer these days, im guessing. Usually, car batteries need to be replaced at three years on average. The time that I spent waiting was less than an hour. My appointment time was at 1pm, I arrived earlier and our car was ready 35 mins later. The cost was very reasonable too for a car battery. This isn't the first time I've experienced poor communication at this service center. I came in today for a tire replacement, and Rose told me it would take around three hours. While waiting, the Tesla app showed an estimated completion time of 45 minutes, which seemed great -- but the status never changed, so I continued waiting. Overall was a great experience, but I wish the steps and procedures in obtaining or buying in the Tesla was a little bit more thoroughly explained. Additionally I think that there needs to be a section where people need to understand to get or book an appointment time so that these sales rep could probably assist the customers rather than bombarding on other customers and asking questions which I found was pretty rude on both ends but mostly on the customer side. Definitely a place to check out and very serviceable, for future buyers if you are trading in a car, make sure you have all the paperwork, credit check and everything done too much as possible so that the transaction is much smoother and is ready to go by the time you make an appointment rather than waiting on last minute which causes a lot of disruptions. read more

First time I took it in for service was great from Leland but the second time was the worst shady service from IAN. If you have to get service avoid Ian, this guy is the shadiest guy I've ever had to deal with. He will try to deny warranty on a fix by blaming it on something that has nothing to do with the problem. His technician also said they were not confident in replacing a part that a newbie could replace. I came here because Tesla told me the mobile technician wouldn't be able to help me with the gap in the front trunk hood not closing all the way. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to drive my car to the service center because the hood was open and my car wouldn't go faster than 15 mph, so I had to get it towed. After arrival, Tesla said nothing was wrong with my car and the hood closed fine if you pressed on it correctly. I tried multiple times and couldn't get it to work with the intake guy watching me (even though he did it himself just fine). But he couldn't explain properly to help me do it myself, so he went to go get a technician to help. While he was gone, I kept trying over and over again and finally figured out what worked. I had to close it first to latch with a gap and then press down firmly under the logo area with the heels of both palms and all my weight until it clicked again and fully closed. So the whole towing and appointment was a bit silly when nothing was actually wrong with the car. I just needed someone to show me how to close the hood properly. Watching YouTube videos myself wasn't enough. But I guess there was no way for them to know that beforehand. Thankfully this was covered under warranty, so I didn't have to pay. read more

Took my car to this location to service for two issues, including a steering wheel that had leather coming apart. At the time of service, my car had been in my possession for roughly 6 months and about 6k miles. Was told that this was not a manufacturing defect but instead "wear and tear" and that a replacement would cost upwards of $1300. Spoke to the GM and he said it was "black and white" and there was no way this is covered under warranty. They made up some 6 month interior warranty that isn't mentioned ANYWHERE in the owners manual. When I picked up my car after hours, I was told a PIN lock would be enabled. The car was left on the main street outside of the service center, keycard in the cup holder (exposed and in visible sight), and NO PIN LOCK. My car could have been stolen and driven off if someone had passed by and decided to be shady...since the car key was just left out in the open and unlocked. Took my car into another Tesla Service Center for another issue and asked about the steering wheel. They said it was absolutely covered by warranty and the Torrance service center was wrong. They replaced my steering wheel free of charge, and even upgraded it to one capable of being heated if I purchased the cold weather package! Will never be coming back to this service center again! So, this could have been better, 3 services repairs, 2019M3 with less than 40K miles. Front suspension needed to be nearly completely replaced for excessive wear. On a 40K mile vehicle. The tech removed my sun shade, no issues there. Didn't put it back, no big deal. However, all the retaining clips are missing-gone? So now, i can not re-install it! Was told the vehicle would be done before 7pm, it was not. But no follow up either, had to get on site to see when the vehicle would be ready. Also, the waiting area-show room is to put it mildly filthy. Broken cabinets, dirty floor. I don't expect the same as my Porsche dealership with free expresso and snack bar. Avoid this service center! The service manager, Alex, will do anything to claim your Tesla is not under warranty. I came here because my driver side window shattered on its own while parked. I was told by the scheduler to explain my story and the technicians will determine whether it can be warrantied or not. Upon my arrival, the service manager asked me what was wrong with my car and as I was explaining the issue he immediately told me glass has a warranty exclusion and there's no point in trying to figure out what happened; and I signed the contract with Tesla and the rules are black and white. I asked him if the exclusion also excludes anything that is a manufacture defect and he said yes. While I was trying to figure out my options with how to get my glass replaced, I looked up the exclusion on glass warranty and realized that manufacture defects are covered under glass warranty. When I brought this up he started to back track what he said by claiming Tesla said they only warranty glass based on craftsmanship. When I argued the language used on the warranty terms he started to tell me that glass manufacture defect is only eligible for the first 100 miles of the car and he knew that my car didn't qualify because he already knew my car was over 100 miles. When I told him I'd like to see the clause of where this is stated he just ignored me and continued to claim warranty does not apply to my case. After an arduous debate over the issue, he said I am more than welcome to take my car to another Tesla service center to see if I get different response. I ended up going to the Long Beach service center and had a much better experience. They patiently listened to my story and was extremely reasonable with their response and solution. read more

Took my model s to get a diagnostic completed due to a whining sound coming from the drive motor. They replaced the motor under warranty, but the sound continued. Turns out it was the junction box. I went to the gym and parked my car in a parking structure. I couldn't find my actual key, but I wasn't worried about it, because I had my phone and the Tesla app, which I often use to unlock and start the car. After my workout, I returned to the car, and it wouldn't unlock! I tried everything, but the app wasn't communicating with the car. I called Tesla roadside, and after they tried to "wake it up" and failed, they told me that my only option was to get the car towed to the Tesla service center. My husband had AAA, so we called a tow truck through them, since it would be free. We waited 3 hours for a tow truck! I was so frustrated, as I had to cancel an important meeting to deal with this. Once the tow truck finally arrived and got my car out of the parking structure, the app was able to communicate with the car, and all was well. But, to be safe, we decided to drive to the Tesla service center to get a key made, just so we are not in this position again. When we arrived, we were greeted by Leland. He could sense the frustration in my voice, and he was absolutely amazing at calming me down and taking care of things right away! We were in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. Always had a good experience with the service staff while servicing my vehicle. The staff in Torrance always accommodating, attentive, courteous, professional. I was especially thankful for the technician (Josue), who rode along with me to trouble shoot a persistent rear suspension "clunk". The repair only took a day to trouble shoot and fix. A loaner vehicle was also provided. Upon picking up my vehicle, I noticed a right front fender abrasion. The service team investigated and none of the techs had any knowledge of the occurrence. Without question, Phil offered to have the abrasion buffed out. It took the team less than 10 minutes to look like new. Few days later, my vehicle was back in with a faulty charge port door. I was fortunate enough that team Torrance found a way to plug me in last minute. The car was ready the next morning. Upon inspecting the newly replaced charge port door, I noticed a (5 inch grey streak) abrasion near the area worked on. This time around, I was in denial that lighting could strike twice in such a short window (from the last incident). Once again, I brought this to the attention to the service staff. They escalated this to the shop manager, who was understanding and empathetic. He tried using rubbing compound and alcohol. Most of the streak come off, but left underneath was a 2 inch scratch with some damage to clear coat and paint. The shop manager saw I was disgruntled and asked what they can do. I was lost for words on the back to back careless occurrences. I asked why they don't do walk arounds upon checking in vehicles for service. They simply said they don't! Odd! Then why do they conduct a walk around for loaner vehicles, which I was provided and SIGNED off on? Even more odd...the shop manager told me to, on future service drop offs, tell them to be extra carefulI. OMG, should this even be brought up? I walked away and told him to contact me once they came up with how to make things right. BTW, I'm still waiting for them to call or contact me. What concerns me is that I ran across other reviews regarding similar matters, which damage was caused during service and NO followup call from MGT. One previous review mentioned, "aren't reliable safe keepers of your vehicle"! Spot on, as they park overflow on the street. Look at my reviews...11 in the last 8 years. The ones I wrote up were positive supporting businesses for the good work and services they provide. Tesla, a large company, huge understatement, has QC issues and need to polish up their standards. I had a cracked rim and drove over to the service center. They got it fixed and I was on my way in 30 minutes. I spent more time at Americas Tire trying to figure out what was wrong than at Tesla. read more
