Make sure you have a BIG budget. This place has a little bit of something for everyone and it adds up fast. You can get a craft for the weekend, a few blind boxes, snacks, stationary, and on top so much skin and body care. Truly is hard to describe everything offered. This is pretty much a mix of a miniso and an Oliveyoung. If you have any kind of skin, hair, or body care items from the other side of the globe (Especially Korean and Japanese brands) I suggle checking her before ordering online as the pricing is not too different from places like Oliveyoung and Yesstyle. I will say the brands are not all encompassing and since opening I've found some of my favorites are no longer in stock, but really worth the look. This place is a DREAM. You walk in and there is so much to see. They have small wooden electronic carnival rides, mini rooms (bedroom, bakery, restaurants), and SO MANY blind boxes you can buy. On the other side is a multitude of drinks, snacks, pastries and candy! So many options/varieties. It's so fun to see all the different things, and they have flavors we don't normally find in the US (think melon Fanta, Halo Halo ice cream in a tub, steak Lays, ect.) It's such an adventure! And it doesn't end there! You'll find organizers, skincare, hair care, laundry and cleaning products, kitchenware, and makeup. Once you make it to the checkout line, you'll still find items in the queue, and they have a little discounted section. Sometimes they have small, clear bags with soon to be or recently expired snacks, candy and drinks. It's so cheap! The staff are nice, music plays over the speaker, everything is well organized, and it's overall a VERY pleasant experience. They even have small carts that move in all directions, if you've been to IKEA, you know what I'm talking about. Lol. On the bottom of the cart you can add a basket, and it's built to fit! TESO Life is basically what you get when you combine a Daiso with a beauty products store: an eclectic mix of toys, snacks and beauty products, with a smattering of home goods, stationery, and other random Japanese goods, such as decorative dioramas (for some reason...even though they are awesome!). My wife, who became addicted to certain hair care products after our trip to Japan last year, was thrilled to find that all of the elusive brands she brought home with her were well-stocked on the shelves here, and reasonably priced, meaning this place is going to become part of our regular Asian rotation! read more

Teso Life is a chain and now they have come to East Portland. About a third of the space is dedicated to skin and body care. They have kitchen items, especially bowls and storage. They have home goods. An aside of pens, though I think they are weak on Japanese stationary. In the front they have a large collection of branded Japanese toys you would not find elsewhere in Portland. They have a very large selection of Japanese snacks, cold drinks and frozen deserts. Beyond skin and body care, this is a good place for small gifts, including snacks. In Japan, they love writing in English even when questionable, like we like kanji tattoos even when questionable. That said many people like snack packages from Japan! What you need and they have are Japanese washcloths. You know all the bath brushes with handles we have for the shower to scrub your back? They get mold and mildew and break. Forget that! The Japanese washcloth is about 1 meter by 20cm - 40 inches by 10. They are nylon and come in grades of roughness. Perfect for your back. They are inexpensive. The staff is nice and have store uniforms. I love this store. I was told it was similar to a Daiso but it's really not. The location is great, next to mall 205 there is a strip mall developing with a strong Asian culture which I love. There's a Ranch 99 market, The Alley boba shop and a miniso in one building. Teso Life has everything that I like. Blind Box plushies (baby three, Sanrio, Nanci), Korean and Japanese skincare. The good Korean brands too. They have mixsoon, round lab, torriden, medicube, beauty of Joseon for examples. There's also make up, skin care, body care. My daughter loves it here too. There's also a small food section and home goods. I'm glad this area is developing well as Mall 205 unfortunately has been on a downward trend, things are looking up for SE Portland. read more

Honest review from someone who's been to plenty of Asian stores. For those in the know, Tesolife is more like a Miniso superstore and less like a Daiso. The size of the store is impressive but much of the shelf space is taken up by lots of the same product. Photos of the store are pretty glitzy but the actual store can be broken up into 5 product areas: licensed products (think Hello Kitty, Rolife, etc.), snacks (not groceries), household goods, health & beauty, and lastly, make-up. Of course everything is Asian-centric (primarily, Japanese, with some Korean and Chinese). You'll find products here that you could only find either overseas, in US cities with large Asian communities, or online. The most eye-catching areas were licensed products & make-up, though there's something here for everyone. Prices were decent though maybe higher than their competitors. Variety is where Tesolife wins cuz it's a large place where one can do "one-stop shopping" for ladies, men & children. read more

We went this morning at 11am when they opened. Best time to go here is in the morning. There's not a lot of parking spot when we tried to go here yesterday we can't even find a parking spot. Place was so packed when we tried to go there in the afternoon. Well, this morning the store was so clean and a lot of varieties to choose from from drinks, snacks, toys, make up items etc The workers are so nice and very friendly! My son got toys and we bought a lot of noodle and some snacks. Will definitely gonna go back here! Items are great clean and very organized! read more

Friendly staff | Good products | Skincare heaven I went on grand opening day! I waited 45 minutes in that long line that wrapped around the building and then another 1h 15min at check out. It was quite the experience! But let me tell you, this is THE place to go to for all of your Japanese and Korean skincare needs. Besides skincare, they have a bunch of collectible blind boxes and Rolife DIY kits. There is another aisle dedicated to stationery, another section for home goods, and another for snacks. These snacks are unique just like the ones you'll find at Uwagimaya's, but Uwagimaya's is more expensive, in my opinion. Among the very neat and organized shelves is two aisles worth of skincare. One aisle is dedicated to face masks alone! We're talking about brands like Dr. Jart, Mixsoon, Tony Moly, Anua, Beauty of Joseon, Medicube, Round Lab, CosRX...etc. I think they are reasonably priced. I picked up a Gold Collagen mask kit (10 count) for $14. I saw the heart leaf Anua masks but didn't see the rice mask. They may carry it, but I may have to wait since they just opened. Apart from masks, they have ampoules, toners, corrective serums...etc. I almost bought an Angel Lab pimple patch (24 count for $6), but I wanted to spend more time comparing that to other brand they had before committing. They also carry various drinks (sodas, teas). One wall is lined with body lotion and hair care. I saw Dr. Groot for those who are dealing with thinning hair. Lots of products by Diane. Closer to the front register area is makeup. Brands like 3CE, Judy Doll, Dasique, TirTir, CanMake, Peripera, Rom&nd...etc. They have a lot of lip balms/glosses/tints. I can't forget to mention the row for eyeliners and mascaras! So, think Uwagimaya's hair and makeup section but even more of it. I picked up the Judy Doll black iron wand mascara for $9.99! I absolutely LOVE it. The lift it has with no clumping is amazing, so I will continue to buy from here instead of Amazon ($16.99). The lip tint I got by Dasique is called Juicy Dewy Tint in Papaya Milk ($12), which is a very popular hint of pink. This is very similar to Dinto brand! It's not sticky, more on the watery side and leaves a nice tint on your lips throughout the day. I feel like all of these items I've seen on Yes Style and Stylevana are here. There were a couple of products I could not find and asked workers, but that's okay, I can check back next time. Everyone I engaged with working there was friendly and did their best to help direct me to where I needed to look. I plan to come back here with my friends in a couple of weeks. Bought a Rolife puzzle kit for my daughter for her birthday. Turns out, someone already bought the same one for her. I came in with her to do an exchange for something else she might like. I was told the manager is on lunch and won't be back for another 50 minutes, thus I can't exchange NOR return until he's back. The employees were really nice and apologized but I told them it's not their fault and nothing to apologize for. Took me half an hour to drive to this store and now I'm waiting. 45 minutes later, the "store manager" came back and as I approached the register to get my exchange process going, he told the other employees that he still has 4 minutes left for lunch. Really?! Is this how businesses run these days? When I told him this is bad policy to make customers wait for his lunch to be over before getting serviced, he completely ignored me. Needless to say, I will never do business with this establishment again. I'll pay $1.35 extra and have Amazon deliver it to my doorstep than having to waste gas and deal with this ridiculous store policy. To the owner (Andy Lin), you really need to retrain your manager on customer service AND think about changing your policies so that customers are not waiting during business hours for an exchange/return because your manager is on lunch. read more
