I've always enjoyed shopping at my local Bi Mart stores. They typically have everything I'm looking for and the staff are very friendly.

Bi-Mart reminds me of the hardware areas of back in the day Fred Meyer, pre-Kroger.

Clothing is high quality and so expect the price tag to reflect that. They also sell accessories like affordable jewelry from local artisans, unique scarves, shoes/boots/sandals and even an assortment of wonderful hand reams and candles that smell so good! The other day I had to buy a pitchuli scented candle because it reminded me of my youth! Like any store, some of the clothing works for me and some doesn't. We all have to know our own bodies and what fits best. What I like about adorn most is that they have a variety of styles because they know women's bodies come in a variety of shapes! I try to stop in several times a year to see what's new, when I need a special outfit or a gift for a friend. This week I bought a pair of Mia slides that are waterproof, perfect for after my swims, and they have a Birkenstock footbed making them super comfortable with support for my feet. Love them! Just $30 and in a very on trend rose gold color with white buckles. Wore them to the pool the next day and a little girl complimented me! Too cute. My only complaint is that the store is so packed with items that when trying on shoes, there was nowhere to put the boxes while trying them on in front of the mirror. A sales clerk ended up vclearing off a stool so I could place my potential shoes there as I tried on different sizes and styles. They have several locations (downtown, SE Clinton) and it's worth visiting them all!

However, coming from downtown, for some reason, I got off one stop early. All reason went out the window when I saw Ikea and the Cascades train stop. I got out there and ended up walking something like a half-mile to get to Target. With the help of a couple of extra OTC painkillers, I made it, and only had to sit down a couple of times. I appreciated that the parking lot had sidewalks and crosswalks. It's like so many other Target stores, although I have never seen a CVS inside a Target. (In Hawaii, CVS is still Longs Drugs and they are free-standing. I looked for a certain brand of travel-sized toothpaste; there wasn't any. The bin contained only regular-sized tubes. Many of the travel-size section bins were empty. I also wanted a certain brand of waterproof black mascara. It would be cheaper here than in Hawaii. (Strangely, mascara can't be shipped to Hawaii.) What I wanted was near the floor, making them tough to see and read, and none of the tags were right. I checked all the tubes, and none of them were what I was looking for. I'm now 0 for 2. Next I headed to the grocery section. The fresh food section, particularly the fresh meat section, seemed smaller than others I've seen. There wasn't much on sale, either. I didn't have a ton of stuff, but I was having trouble carrying it. I checked in two spots for a basket, and both were out. There were two human checkers on duty with a few people in line for both. The line for self-checkout was long. Staff responded and opened up two more lanes. The person helping me was pleasant and chatty. It was just a bummer they didn't have two things I was specifically looking for. It was still an okay experience, and I got some unintended exercise. We'll see how much my arthritic joints ache tomorrow.

It was my first time at this chain and I was impressed by the name brands they carry - Nike, Columbia, Brooks, Birkenstock, Easy Spirit, Sketchers, Ryka, New Balance, Mia, Frye, Dr. Scholls, Adidas - and more! Most are previous season, but who, other than shoe aficionados, tracks shoe styles by season? I'm seeking styles that work with my ethos, are comfortable, and don't break the bank. At this location, I found several that met my needs. Walked out with Sketchers Slip In glide sandals, a retro looking pair of Adidas, and the new comfy fit Sketchers slip in sneakers. Pretty good hall! In addition to the shoes, they have a few accessories like handbags, wristlets, Sketchers activewear clothing (didn't even know they made activewear) and belts. Only negative was i was expecting higher discounts. Most shoes seemed to be 10-20% less, which i can often find online, but I do like, and need, the ability to try on live until I know my fit in a particular brand and style. Located at the Cascade strip mall by the airport, it's a convenient location with tons of parking. If you order online they ship free and if you need to return, just bring to the store for no fee.

As a data nerd i appreciated all the info plus the ability to email it to myself so I can share with my Physical Therapist. The staff was really nice to me even though I walked in 15 minutes before closing. 5 minutes before close and employee even went and checked the back for another size for me saying "take your time". I browsed briefly and decided to go back when I have more time. Treat your feet like royalty and your knees, hips, and shoulders will follow.

Several people can browse at once without getting into each other's way. Large selection of retro VHS tapes. Interesting hodgepodge of items and nicknacks that are likely priced well below market value. Main business through the door is likely from the neighborhood families in need, and taking advantage of the discounts for clothing and such. I did not look through the clothing selection, so I cannot speak to its variety, but it did seem to take up most of the floor space. All in all, if you've checked everywhere else, and you're in the area, it doesn't hurt to check them out--especially if you are a collector of something. Consider donating here before going to goodwill. The money raised in the community stays in the community.
