I visited this store after a friend recommended it and I'm so glad I did. What a delightful "experience" it is just looking at all the interesting gifts and items in this store. I love that it's fun to explore, I love that you can buy an item already gift wrapped that looks like a million bucks. I was just going in to look and felt compelled to buy something because I fell in love with so many things. So I bought a Christmas present early and I'll be back. Just their card selection alone is hilarious and worth the visit. I'm so happy to find this store. I came to this amazing shop a few week ago. I was grabbing a juice next door and it attracted my attention and went in. They have so many cute items and they are all pre wrapped. I did not go in with the intention of buying anything but I could not resist my self after seeing all the cute things they have and left with a really cool gift for my teenage son. I also had the opportunity to meet Tara the owner. She is such a lovely and helpful lady. I did notice she was a bit sad and she shared with me that she was very disappointed about a negative review she had received. It seemed very unfair to hear that way they had expressed themselves about her beautiful shop. Specially because as soon as you walk in the door you can see the love, passion and detail that goes into selecting each item that she offers. I was happy that I was able to express to her that I really loved her shop and that some of the items there took me back to childhood memories and I was trilled to share some of those items with my son. I went to my car and he was excited that I not only came back with his delicious juice but a little gift. And for him it was not just any gift. He is a writer so when he discovered that the gift was a note book, but one to write ideas and it even had inspirational quotes he was trilled.. The only thing better than a great giftery is an owner who personally choses every "gift" as though preparing for a christmas party everyday. She pre-wraps them (year round) since there is most certainly something here that will remind you of someone you love, like, or hate but want to buy something for anyway because, damn, this store just has so many clever things - I was in there for an hour browsing. I performed a magic trick. I smelled candles. Laughed at cards and read from hilarious books. I heard a rare vinyl of a throwback 80s Magic Johnson Promo for the Lakers (back when they were good) on a record player that folds into a briefcase (I want it). Tara had something to do with that. Everyone on earth thinks they have a great sense of humor and great taste. Most people have neither - but Tara has both - and enough to go around, man. Meeting Tara was like bumping into that best friend from home you forgot you had. She makes you feel at home while also persuading you to buy the awesome shit she has all over her store. I bought like 6 things but wanted a dozen. You know how they say, to really know if a person is good, don't judge them by how they treat you. Instead, judge them by how they treat a waiter. This analogy double applies to store owners. To see if they are truly kind and welcoming, see how the react to cold-calls. I happened to be the latter a few months ago when I came to pitch my product to Tweak. To my surprise, I wasn't kicked out of the store (which happens pretty often), and instead i felt an enormous amount of love, kindness and welcomeness from Tara (the store owner) and her partner. This warmth along with the store's incredible vibe really impressed me. Even the slightest details, like "we close at 7:30 ish" showed great respect for all the guests of the store. No wonder they were chosen as one of the best gift stores in LA in 2013! Luckily, Tara, with her enthusiasm for something new, unique and unusual, gave my product a chance to be sold at her store (which turned out to be pretty succesful). Now I stop in every couple of weeks to see how things are going. And every time I come in, I'm impressed with the store even more. There wasn't a time when Tara wouldn't be helping customers. And in terms of the way she serves her customers - well, I could probably devote a separate review. It's the extreme attention to every detail of the customer experience. And do you think I got bored waiting for her? Not at all! There are soo many cool and interesting products to discover in the store that you can't possibly get bored. Came here today after seeing Wendy Birch from KTLA this week . I had two people to shop for and they are hard to get Christmas gifts for. They have an array of stuff for everyone. I could have stayed hours if I didn't have my two kids. The staff were nice and the owner Tara was so sweet. My daughter had a ball playing with stuff. Definitely coming back. Can you give a place one million stars? Tweak is ah-maaaay-zing. I've literally been there 5 times in the past week. Each time I have been, the store changes, there is new merchandise, but there is still that amazing OMG I SUDDENLY NEED THIS factor! The owner Tara is SO sweet and helpful! Playing with products is encouraged and seriously my adult ADHD is out of control in the store. You'll be able to find an awesome gift, card, book, whatever you need for that special occasion. And even better? EVERYTHING comes pre gift wrapped! And in neutral print so you can literally stop by here and you're ready to go. Things I didn't know that I needed until I came to TWEAK but have substantially improved my quality of life - Reusable cartoon stickers to place on wine glasses. Talk about a good ice breaker! (ha) - Corkcicle. It's a wine cork attached to a frozen tube shaped like an icicle that allows you to freeze the corkcicle and stick it into your bottles of white wine instead of using an ice bucket - A white assortment of Voluspa candles in pretty votive holders that put anthropologie to shame. And I really like anthropologie. The website is a start, but you really need to just come in person to appreciate everything. read more

This is the BEST gift shop for children. The age range is probably up to middle school and the shelves are not filled with useless toys that they will use once and throw away. I left with a fashion sketch book, a sticker by number flower mirror and reusable puffy doll dress up stickers all for under $50. The kids will love me!! When I took my items up to the register to pay, the worker said she would grab the pre-wrapped ones of each item and that the things I had in my hand were the display. One of the items weren't pre-wrapped and they insisted that they do it for me and it only took a second. If you are looking for a fun and quirky gift. This is the place to come. They have a little bit of something for every age group, but great stuff for children and teenagers. Especially if they are interested in science, fashion or art. The best thing about this store is that most everything comes pre-gift wrapped which saved me a bunch of time. This is definitely the best curated shop for gifts. They have something for literally everyone in your life. I've never walked in and not had found something I've either knew existed or had thought, wow, so and so, would love that! Beautiful personal care items such as scrubs, creams and the most awesome cuticle oil ( which really helps when I wash my hands 100 times a day). The best board games and puzzles for family time, and beautiful gratitude books and journals for those moments when the pandemic feels way too overwhelming for me. Maybe I had a bad experience based on these reviews or the owner has a lot of friends. I went in for the first time today having passed it a ton of times but it was never open for me to go in. I was browsing a picking out a bunch of things in my head to come back and purchase when I had my car (I was on a 2mile walk) I saw the cutest little matchbooks, there were like 6 different kinds. They were with the candles of which I picked out 3. They were not cheap candles. The candles were wrapped really neatly for the holidays so I asked if there happened to be a package of matchbooks wrapped up too. They were so cool with quotes on them what a neat accompaniment to the candles. The owner snapped she did not wrap things for 4.99 and went on with it in such a negative way it was a huge turn off. I was like, I am going to buy 6 of them and I was just asking if you had a cool gift set of them. I was very put off but she did not seem to care and went back to a personal conversation with someone in the store. If you own a store have a little customer service. Its hard enough for small stores but bad customer service could be even worse. read more

I saw this on KTLA one morning and thought it was the funniest store I'd seen in a long time! Of the six(?) items I ordered online, all but one was perfect. But when I tried to return that one, I was told that they only do exchanges. This was not mentioned anywhere on their website, even though PayPal said we are entitled to a full refund. Since I live 1 1/2 hours away (without traffic), I am not likely to drive to their store to see if there is something I want that is exactly the price I paid for the item I want to return. And I'm not about to pay for shipping to return it AND pay for shipping of a new item after I already paid for shipping once. Great stuff. Lousy return policy.
