I think once you make your reservations online, you have to follow up with a call to ask for outdoor seating. My friends and I chose this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon (3/29/26). We were originally going to Capital Grille but decided on this place because of the views and ambience. The worst mistake I could have ever made. We arrived around 5:00 PM, there was no host at the counter. We proceeded to walk in and was not greeted by anyone not even the bartender. There were maybe 2 tables seated and about 4 people at the bar, very light day. I approached the bar and asked if they were serving food, she nodded her head yes, no verbal communication. My next question, should we seat ourselves, she nodded yes again. That should have been a red flag for how the rest of our evening was about to go. We sat ourselves and was never greeted by anyone for about 30 minutes. There was one server walking around (which I found out later was the manager) that I approached and asked if he was waiting our table. His response was, " I will be with you all in a moment, my server is due to be here at 6pm but I will go ahead and take care of you all). Every other table was being waited on by this manager but it seemed an inconvenience when I asked who was waiting our table. We recieved our appetizers and drinks and that was the last time we saw our waiter. The entre took about another half hour to come out and was served by I believe kitchen staff. By this time the 6pm server has arrived, however no one waited our table for the rest of the evening. After noticing that we hadn't been waited on for about an hour by our original server, I approached the 6pm server who is now waiting every other table but ours and asked what happened to our server. She shrugged her shoulders and said she wasn't sure and she thought the bartender was serving us. She went to the bartender to confirm but no one came back to our table to tell us anything. 30 more minutes pass and now I'm walking up to the bar to ask what is going on. The bartender replied that she wasn't sure but if we were ready to close out she'd help us. She brought the check to the table and that was it. We Waited again for payment to be collected but once again no one came to the table. At this point I was tempted to walk out and leave the check unpaid since to them we weren't there anyways. I did the right thing and walked back to the bar with the check and payment method and me and my friends stood at the bar until she closed us out. What started as a quick bite to eat turned into a 4 hour waste of time. I will NEVER return to this restaurant, use this hotel or attend any events going forward. This place is super cute! The rooftop balcony was wet so we didn't get to fully enjoy it but the view was nice. Parking was easy to find and the hostess was a pleasure to meet! The main drawback from this place is that we were told that we couldn't create our own drinks. We had to order what was on the menu but could substitute items. We were also told that we could not just order a glass of Sangria. We had to order it in the large format that was on the menu (which is for more than 2 people lol). With that being said, we just ended up ordering some fries and enjoying the view before we left. The old bay fries were delicious and the portion was pretty good! Had the absolute worst experience at Tesserae tonight. Service - We were super excited to check out this rooftop, but were disappointed rather quickly. Our reservation was for 7:15, which we showed up on time for and were sat promptly. It then took 25 minutes for a server to come over to our table (it was not crowded). We finally got our drinks at 8:00, 45 minutes after we sat down. Our server did not once, nor any other staff member, come up to check on us throughout our stay here. We had to flag her down to get the check. For valet - we left the restaurant and directly asked the hostess if they validated our valet. She said "no we do not offer that." Once we got downstairs to request our car, the valet asked if we validated our parking, to which we said no they told us this was not an option. The valet then laughed at us suggesting we go back upstairs to get validated because "they're lazy." To put it short - I would not recommend. The views are great; however, no view is worth the absolute disregard we felt as customers here tonight. read more

Great aesthetics and views. While I didn't get a full meal, I enjoyed both their Cajun fries and cauliflower dish. I would be interested in tasting more! Great service and servers, extremely friendly and helpful. The view of the city is great and you have the option to sit both indoors and outdoors. There's also a large bar inside. The DJ played light music, nothing too crazy or loud. I went on a Saturday and while the vibe was a bit stiff - Tessarae is the perfect spot to come with a large party to hang and enjoy the views of the city without feeling the need to party hard. The rooftop is definitely a vibe. I went on a Friday night with my girls. They had a DJ playing, libations were flowing. This place is so unprofessional. We were told we couldn't make a reservation on the phone and to try online. We try online, there is no place to make a reservation on their website AND social media. so we arrive at the hostess stand and she informs us that the waitlist is 20-40 minutes. We waited for an hour before we went back to the stand and she told us the waitlist was pointless, they do not honor it, and if we wait ANOTHER hour we will find out if we can get our spot honored or not...rather than her telling us this when we first came in. The service is so bad and slow- specially with our server Elizabeth- not sure if because tip is already included but never felt so unwelcome in a place! The ambience and views were amazing. Nice, diverse crowd of young professionals. However, the bar and ordering process was a bit of a nightmare. I think they were understaffed, so there was a long wait time to order, and the bartenders seemed flustered which made for less than desirable customer service. They then stood frustrated at the bar while we were asked to sit down at the table where we waited for a manager and our server for 15 minutes. All employees involved, including the manager, were miserably rude as they thought we had left without paying. We explained that we were in plain sight and had asked prior, but not one person wanted to hear a word from our mouths. We had to ask for our items to be removed from the bill as only a free round was offered. The manager made a repulsed face that we did not accept her free drink round resolution.
