I've been eyeballing this restaurant from the very beginning. Finally I got the chance to come by. Me and my stepdad stopped in after a appointment. We was asked where would we like to sit. We decided on the outside tables to enjoy the sun. Our waiter Lucus was great. We looked over the menu and decided on the Guinness fish and chips and the Pork Belly Skewers. As for the cocktail I got the Campfire. The food and the overall scene was fantastic. Sitting outside people watching with good food and a tasty cocktail was everything I needed today. Taffers Tavern offers very good pub food in a large, inviting environment. I came here with friends before seeing a musical at the Alliance Theater. The fish and chips I ordered were delicious, thick, and crispy and paired well with the tartar sauce and vinegar. The spicy whiskey ketchup that comes with the fries are phenomenal. Our server was fast and attentive just like the rest of the service. The back seat was a little roughed up but, otherwise, I had a great time eating here. It's a great place to watch a sports event. There are several TVs throughout the space, so it was perfect for watching the game while enjoying dinner. Great energy, comfortable seating, and not overcrowded. From the moment we sat down, Jess and Willis were attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. There was a small hiccup early on, but they handled it immediately and made it right without hesitation. That level of accountability and care goes a long way and completely elevated our experience. Finding a place worth our time while on the road is not easy, but the moment we stepped into Taffer's the staff made us feel welcome and just happy to see us there. From beginning to end the team made sure we're comfortable and I can't say enough how attentive everyone was, actually outstanding. the place had a beautiful entrance and the inside really surprised me, it really has a space for everyone to be comfortable, I loved how everything just works together. The food was delicious I could cry trying the vodka rigatoni, just wonderful. The pork belly and mashed potatoes were so well done and the combination of both really melted in my mouth. Waitress who served us seemed unfamiliar with taking cocktail requests. We had to emphasize the particular brand we wanted. She was promoting the seasonal cocktail. Bartenders maybe primarily serve beer and wine. I would stick to those. The waitress kept asking to take the rest of our order which made us feel rushed. Very good artichoke dip. Burgers were ok . A little bland. Nothing spectacular. The manager when he came to greet us was great and wanted to help make our experience a good one. OK, so wife and I blew into Atlanta for the afternoon on a Sunday stayed at the hotel across the street where they told us we had to come over to Taffers Tavern upon we were so pleasantly surprised . This place is so nice and plenty of big screen TVs . Extremely nice bar, craft cocktails ,friendly service& amazing people we instantly felt at home . the drinks were tremendous and amazing food ! let me just put it this way literally the best bourbon burger I've ever had in my life. Clearly using high-quality ingredients. We had an opportunity to talk with several staff members and the manager . my only regret is that we don't have a place like this in Nashville. I met a friend for Saturday lunch at the recently-opened Taffer's location in Midtown. Walking in, there's a definite cozy vibe befitting a true tavern; it's done in a modern style that feels contemporary yet comfortable. There is an expansive bar with multiple large-screen TVs overhead, so Taffer's is now on my short list of sports viewing spots in Midtown. Service was very welcoming from the hostess to our server, who was very attentive throughout the meal. They have a small weekend brunch menu, though the extensive list of comfort-heavy tavern fare is also available on weekends. I opted for the brunch chicken & waffles, which unfortunately took 40+ minutes to come out which I chalk up to the usual "sorting out" new restaurants often experience in their first couple of weeks. To their credit the manager (unprompted) provided me a couple of drink vouchers to make up for the wait. Once received the waffle was very nice and the chicken was good, though it was not the star of the meal. Taffer's seems like a really nice addition to the north Midtown restaurant scene and I look forward to returning soon. read more

Just tried the new Taffer's Tavern at 17th & Peachtree in Midtown Atlanta and I have some important breaking news: I may never cook again. First up was the Prime Rib Sandwich. Perfectly cooked, juicy prime rib with melty gruyère and horseradish sauce on a hoagie bun, with au jus for dipping. And let me tell you -- the meat was so good it practically introduced itself before I took a bite. The fries were insanely crispy and came with spicy ketchup that had just enough kick to wake up your taste buds without filing a police report. Then came the Bourbon Burger -- caramelized onions, bacon, and white cheddar on a Patagonia bun. It's the kind of burger that makes you pause mid-bite and reconsider every burger decision you've made in your life up until now. Drinks? Also excellent. The Campfire Bourbon was smoky and smooth, and the Moscow Mule was bright, cold, and dangerously easy to keep sipping. The space itself is gorgeous -- brand new, beautiful interior with a great bar vibe and outdoor seating right at the corner of 17th and Peachtree. It's the kind of place where you could stop in for one drink and accidentally stay for dinner... and maybe dessert... and possibly a second round of fries. My one small complaint: the au jus dish for the prime rib sandwich was not big enough to dip the entire sandwich. And I am what you might call a Big Dipper. I mentioned this to our sweet server Aneesah, and we had a good laugh about it. (Future improvement suggestion: au jus bowls the size of birdbaths.) Speaking of service -- Aneesah was superb. Big smile, great energy, and she walked us through her favorites like a seasoned food tour guide. Bottom line: great food, great drinks, beautiful space, and fantastic service. Excellent food and staff, baffling parking situation We visited the newly opened Midtown location of Taffer's Tavern and were genuinely impressed by the food and the staff. This is far better than typical bar food. We ordered the salmon sliders, rigatoni with chicken, fish and chips, and the prime rib sandwich. Every dish was excellent--well prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully executed. Nothing felt like an afterthought, which is not something I say often about tavern menus. The drinks were also well crafted. The Prohibition cocktail was a standout and absolutely worth ordering. That said, I don't quite understand the point of the "campfire" cocktail presentation. The drink itself is solid, but lighting wood chips on a platter next to the glass--without the smoke actually infusing the cocktail--felt a bit silly and hokey rather than enhancing the experience. The only reason this isn't a five-star review is the parking situation, which is honestly bizarre. The designated garage is not connected to the restaurant. You take an elevator to "retail," walk through the Nomia apartments lobby to get to the restaurant--but when you leave, you can't go back through the building. Instead, you're forced to walk down the street, enter the garage from the outside, and walk up a long ramp to the third floor with no sidewalks or stairs--just sharing the ramp with moving cars. It's awkward, inconvenient, and feels unsafe. This as the only method to get back to our car was verified by the restaurant staff. All that said: amazing food, excellent staff, and I will absolutely be back. I'll just take an Uber next time. read more

Right off the bat the vibe was nice and inviting. It was clean and nice to be there, chairs were comfortable. Theo was amazing and attentive dealing with our party of 10. Everything came out pretty quick and was delicious. In terms of food, the only thing that might need upgrade or retool were the cinnamon whiskey wings. They were good but didn't really get that cinnamon or whiskey flavor. First time eating at a Taffer's Tavern and it won't be my last. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in the door. The hostess was so friendly and seated us right away. Our server was Kylin and he was amazing. I loved his laid back but attentive service. He never rushed us and gave us great recommendations on the menu. My son had the whiskey burger that he really enjoyed. I stole some of his fries which were hot and crispy and so delicious. I had the bleu salad with blackened salmon. It was so good! If you can endure the search for a parking spot on a Friday night, I think you'll enjoy Taffer's Tavern. There is a parking garage 3 blocks away. My wife and I drove from Smyrna for our Friday date night out. The place is modern with TV monitors all around. We had a relatively early reservation (6:45pm), so we were seated right away. They have a large bar area and it was packed. We were seated towards the back which was more quiet. Our cocktails were delicious, our appetizers (spinach dip and tomato bisque) were very tasty. Actually we could have stopped there and been satisfied. However we ordered the Fish and Chips, and a salad with grilled chicken. They were both good enough for us to want to visit again. Finally, the service was great as we thought would be! We'll be back this summer. read more

I'll stick to my Alpharetta location as I had been going the past 5 years but this one is closer and has only been opened a month. I expected it to be just like Alpharetta and it was not. I go to Taffer's Tavern every year to celebrate my birthday and each year has been better than the last at Alpharetta I apologize to them for not coming and giving downtown Taffer's Tavern a try. Although the food is fine. I did not feel like it was my birthday and I don't need a song and dance, but a simple dessert or birthday drink would have been nice. Will not visit again. Service was okay, in the end wish we'd had a different waiter/waitress but it is what it is. I hope no one has an experience like we had. After we left we went to a local outdoor eatery with lots of shops a DJ and a bar. That helped me celebrate my birthday more than anything. read more
