We went to this pop-up a year ago and it was excellent so decided to book again this year. A year is a long time and this was a completely different experience. This year the drinks were blah, the food was mediocre, the vibe was non-existent, and the service was the bare minimal. I have been to other pop-ups this year and would recommend any of them over this include Rreal Taco down the street or Hamp & Harry's or even just picking up the Grinch Happy Meal at McDonald's. Pros: Parking onsite, Reservations (sort of), friendly host (best part of the experience) and server (but absent), nice decorations. Cons: Expensive, boring drinks, overcooked and poorly plated food, not a lively nor festive vibe, poor communication and customer service. Even though this is the only pop-up pre-charging for their event and it was significantly more than a year ago, we liked having a booked time and it was a great experience previously so we booked in early November, but within an hour of booking, we had to adjust the time via OpenTable to a couple hours later. Faster forward to two days before our booking. Confirmations comes in and we notice it is the old time. Called, left messages, send messages through multiple means. Zero response. Called the next day and finally reached the manager who said that the time we wanted wasn't available even though it was the day before so took a later option at 730. Arrive on time but they don't have a table. While waiting they seat us in another area and offer extras since they are late...but they bring chips and salsa 30 mins after 730 when we were supposed to be seat 10-15 mins after we arrive. No waters or anything. Bring complementary margaritas at 810 but only 4 and there are 6 of us. The waitress was dismissive and there was no one else in the bar when we got there. Finally seated at 830 even though they are timed reservations and said they were going to be asking people to wrap within 15 mins of 730. Food was so basic and slapped on the table. Drinks were not festive at all. Ran out of hot chocolate. No festive cups or anything. It was the most mediocre experience I have had. Skip it! read more

Wow, so many amazing things to say about this cute speakeasy behind Chido and Padres restaurant. You're gonna want to make a reservation because this is prime time for them. Even on a Monday they were super packed. The food service and drinks were just awesome not to mention the ambience. I personally loved my strawberry fields forever drink it was fruity and fresh and the mimosa was also beautiful with champagne, lemon and blueberry syrup. It made the perfect pair with the lovely charcuterie board that we had that had some toasted bread, chorizo, salami, Gouda, and pepper jack cheese to round it out with some delicious red grapes. I am obsessed with holiday themed bars! I had to try The Blind Elf. I have been to the Blind Pig Parlour for their capri themed bar, so I knew the decor and drinks were going to be amazing. Let's start with the experience as a whole! We decided to book a reservation. For the reservation we paid $75 a person, which includes two drinks, two appetizers, and included taxes and gratuity. I ultimately do not believe the experience was worth it. PARKING: There was plenty of parking on a Monday night, parking is free and it is at the restaurant the bar is located in. DRINKS AND INTERIOR: The decorations were beautiful! I loved the entire place. The drinks were yummy, but just be aware of what kind of things you like and don't be afraid to ask for suggestions! At first I ordered the mistletoe margarita, but it wasn't as sweet as I like my margaritas to be. My second drink was the jungle chai latter and it was my favorite! We shared everything we ordered food wise. We ordered the Parmesan Snow Fries, the Holiday Heat Sliders, the Mini Crescent Dogs and the Brie en Croute. My favorites were definitely the Sliders and the Brie. The sliders were spicy and I loved it and the Brie was a sweet touch to our meal! The fries and dogs were nothing to rave about, it was normal finger food. The presentation wasn't the best either, I believe for what I received I could've enjoyed something better for $75. Visited during the "Playa Pig" pop up and was completely blown away! I visited on Thursday and did not have a reservation but was seated immediately. I loved the intimate ambiance which was completed by the dim lighting and amazing playlist! My server was quick to attend to the table and gave great drink recommendations based on what flavor profile I was looking for. As far as cocktails I ordered the Spicy Paloma Spritz, El Castillo, and Cool as a Cuke. The Spicy Paloma was a unique take on your regular Paloma and the other drinks were great too. All of them were nicely balanced and not overpowering all. For food I ordered the Crab Tostadas and Christy Shrimp & Poblano Fritters. Both dishes were amazing! In no way is this meant to be a poor rating. Everything isn't for everyone and this just wasn't for me. I was invited here as part of a Galentines get together. In reality once I saw the menu I should have declined. Im not a fan of $15 drinks or small bites. This being said I spent $43 on one drink, a shot and the added service fee. I wouldn't have minded but $40 plus dollars and I didn't have the slightest buzz. We were sat in a room that semi-comfortably accommodated our party of eight. By time I'd arrived the other ladies had ordered drinks and food and no was pleased. I tried to order the beignet ($8) and as soon as I mentioned it, two of the ladies were like nooo you can try these. They tasted like old biscuits and none of the flavor or texture of standard beignets. Another lady offered me a lemon cookie. Laughable and not a drop of lemon flavor. You receive three nice sized cookies ($4) but what's the use if they taste bad. Sadly the waitress admitted before the end of the evening they are her least favorite item. Someone ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp ($15) I think she got three maybe four. Three people ordered the mini crab cakes ($15) and I don't recall seeing them eat them but no one was complimentary of them. Finally towards the end of the evening we were brought one check and advised we couldn't do separate checks but they could accept multiple cards. Picture eight women trying to figure out their individual tabs. I'm sure we all overpaid as only one person had cash and the waitress bought her money back and explained that the seven cards we'd given her covered the tab. My girlfriend had a really cute and creative cocktail that came with a smoked Christmas tree branch on top and mine was the eggnog cocktail but it had absolutely no garnish and came in such a small portion, albeit very strong. I just expected more for this seasonal holiday cocktail. A garnish, cute Christmas cup...something. Anyways, we split the dates wrapped in bacon and it was decent in taste--very sugary and drenched in syrup. Tiny, little portion and it came out so fast that it was surely microwaved. It seems hard to review this one, since they do pop ups for holidays. We looked into going here for The Blind Elf experience, but decided not to when we found out the minimum per person was $70. With an extremely limited food menu, $70 per person on drinks alone just seemed like a lot, although it does weed out some of the instagram and tiktok stop in for photos crowd, so I completely get why they did it. The Blind Cupid event for Valentines day on the other hand did not have a minimum, but it does have a reservation fee if you miss your time slot ($25 a person) which I highly suggest getting a reservation or arriving as soon as they open. Since this place heavily weighs in on the holiday pop up, it seems like their menus both food and drink change frequently. most of their drinks are heavily catered towards the aesthetic, but I will let you know, the flavors really worked and I loved it. I found it super cool that they offered 2 warm cocktail options, I rarely see anything other than a hot toddy, but these ones were super good! The best drink we got was the "Say my Name" with passionfruit and drink strawberry dust, super freaking tasty. Again food was really limited but it was good, we expected light bites so just be prepared for that yourself. If you're only coming here for photos, keep in mind while the vibe is nice and it looks pretty inside, it is very small, dark, and there will be people around. There aren't photo opts other than the booths so small groups sitting more in the middle aren't going to get those shots they want. This review is based on the Halloween pop up concept that started last Friday night. First of all, they did an outstanding job decorating this place. You could tell they put a lot of effort into the decor, mechanical statues, and drink menu. What I didn't like was that they asked for a $25 per person credit card hold to keep your reservation, and I had only discovered this place the day before. So if I had to cancel for some reason the day of due to my flight arriving late, I would have lost all that money because they do not refund it. Also, the drinks are on the pricey side, and I didn't feel like there was enough alcohol content. So this place was actually pretty cool. When we got there, we went to the Mexican restaurant, and he said that they were closed. Why did this happen? When you go around to the back of the building, there was a door wrapped like a Christmas present (literally). You obviously cannot miss it! You walk in, there's a lot of Christmas decorations because of time that I went was a time they were doing the Christmas theme for the bar. And I was pretty cool, elves and lights and ornaments all over the place. It was the biggest bar, but it was spacious enough. I ended up sitting at the bar and the bartender took care of us in the drinks. I had a couple of old-fashions, as I do, and a shot before the night was over. The bartender was really friendly, he's been doing this for years. He's used a bigger venue so he liked the more intimate setting. I feel like this will be a good place for maybe a date night kind of situation perhaps. That's what it seems like at least. It had places to take pictures, like near Christmas decorations, and the tables were just far enough to have you not being somebody else's conversation because you're sitting on top of them. I guess the theme changes with the seasons, so in the middle of January, they're going to be rolling out the Valentine's Day theme. I guess they take their themes seriously and I think that's super dope. Would I go back? I sure would. The IG-worthy bar/speakeasy of your dreams! After dining at Chido & Padre's one afternoon only a few weeks after moving to ATL, I didn't want to end the day just yet and set my eyes on Yelp. It was so crazy that the app map was telling me that this epic bar was only 1 min walking distance away?? Weirddd. Because all I saw was a dark, seemingly desolate plaza beyond the lively Chido & Padres. Walking outside with my friend, we wandered around the lot looking like crazy people until we stumbled upon the black door. Upon opening that door, we were transported to the funkiest lil bar! During that season they were featuring the summer La Playa Pig menu/decor and, wow. The dedication to the theme and aesthetics are so legit here. Although it's not a huge place, there's just enough space for a nice group of folks to gather and enjoy a night out. The pop-up theme changes every few months and along with it, the menu changes. Although not a place where you can indulge in a filling meal, there are bites to nosh on for pairing with the speciality cocktails of the hour.
