Members here for some time and had an amazing wine tasting afternoon for us and our guests. It was an amazing time. The grounds are always beautiful and the vibe is always real fun here. We had a event at the Grand Patio location, and the service was absolutely pathetic. More than half the guests did not receive any of the passed appetizers, and the others just managed a piece or two. There were items missing in the dinner buffer, and the food was just passable. The sound system was an ancient piece, no option for mics and music to play together. Luckily, I had brought my own system along, so we had something which was usable. They also seemed to be reluctant to bring wine to the table during dinner!!! This was in spite of paying over $200 per guest. The most under-whelming experience at Testarossa!! The staff and customer service here is unmatched - Special kudos to Max and Maxwell for being so attentive and knowledgeable! Maxwell continues to go above and beyond every time I visit. I've been here multiple times and alway do both the wine tasting and Wine Bar. Tastings are free for members of the wine club. Its awesome atmosphere makes it a great place to hold casual meetings and catch ups. Most favs were definitely the Doctor's Vineyard and Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay! Testarossa gave us our dream wedding! The venue was magnificent, food was delicious and of course the wine was superb! The staff are very courteous and accommodating. I wish I asked for the names of our servers! I booked two reservations. One for a tasting and one for the food. Each tasting is $20 each for 4 wines, 5 if you're as lucky as we were! We tried 2 white wines and 3 reds. Personally, I LOVED the Chardonnay. Normally, Chardonnay wines taste too similar to me, but this one was quite different. It was easy to sip on and so refreshing. Perfect on a hot day. The tasting patio was well spread out and covered. They gave us a cute little spot - two padded benches next to the trees. I guess our server noticed that some flies were bothering us so he brought over this fly deterrent which we thought was very thoughtful of him! We bought 2 bottles of the Chardonnay. After our tasting, we went over to the bar/cafe area for our foods. They seated us at a fire pit area, but did not set up the fire since it was still daytime/very warm. The seats were comfy and the seated area was private and blocked off for our little group of 4. We asked if we could open one of our bottles and the server told us that she can grab us a chilled bottle instead! We weren't sure about which cheese/charcuterie board to order so she recommended the cheese board and to order a small side salami plate (which wasn't on the menu). Everything was perfect! She came by to check in on us every once in a while too. Again, I'm sad that I didn't ask for the servers' names. OVERALL a good experience. You park and walk up to a valet who directs you where to go. You wait and can test wine in one area. Then you can go to a different area to order food. Not a far drive up into the hills. Easy to see signs thank goodness. FOOD their food options aren't extensive. You're best going with a sampler type platter with their cheeses fruits nuts and meat cuts. Prices are on the higher end but I expected that much being at a nice winery up in the hill. STAFF were good. Only thing was there were FLIES everywhere! We asked for plate covers and it took too long to get them and the flies were eating the food. Gross. One of the girls in our group needed a phone charger and the server was so nice to let her use his. read more

Been a member here for a couple years. Lovely SLH based Pinot Noirs, at least that's what keeps me coming back. I have noticed the Pinots are better for aging (a few years after bottling) and not primed for consuming in their youth like they used to be. Anyway, good staff, atmosphere is relaxed. Wines are pretty solid and I'd recommend for any SLH fans out there as well. Best to call and reserve a spot. Easy drive and not as far as Sonoma. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. SO much so that we are actually members of this winery. The wine is always so good. Red and white. But they specialize in reds. I have yet to have a wine that I don't like. The winery itself is beautiful. There are outdoor picnic tables. A small restaurant. And multiple tasting cellars. It almost feels built into the hill. I write this review for our latest visit. It was rainy and pretty empty but everyone was so nice. We brought friends from out of town and they were treated just as nicely as we were. We even bought a bottle to enjoy in the cafe area. The cafe tables were under a temporary tent which was surprisingly warm. We moved to a table by the fire pit and it was the perfect setting to enjoy our time with friends. read more

Went to Testarossa again to celebrate my birthday with friends on a hot day. The flowers outside were beautiful! Great wine. Had some charcuterie plates. The salmon platter was excellent!! Staff was sweet and very accommodating. My friend was suffering with the hot weather, and staff brought us an ice bucket, relocated us to a cooler table outside, and finally relocated us to a table inside where the temps were 20 degrees cooler. I work for a very well established local non-profit and we had our annual fundraising event at Testarossa in late May. From beginning to end, Brianna, Tony, Camille, and the rest of the staff were outstanding and went "above and beyond" with every request. We had some requests that pushed at the venue's capacity, and Brianna and Tony found a way to accommodate us with a smile. Every attendee I spoke with mentioned that this was one of their favorite venues they've ever attended. Food, wine, venue, ambience, customer service, cost, a/v, parking, all outstanding. I had a great experience at this winery when I threw my husband his surprise birthday. We rented the Cellar 1 room that is an old cave that can host up to 30 people and was unbelievably beautiful. The staff was incredibly kind and available for any questions. What ever email I sent at what ever time, I had answers within 24 hours. And then, the party was spectacular, the wine kept filling the glasses, the atmosphere was relaxing, the food was paced in a very natural way to the group and none was made uncomfortable or was expected to leave before we naturally started leaving the room. My boyfriend surprised me with a wine tasting for our anniversary last month, we knew nothing about wine and this place absolutely enthralled us. We signed up for the wine club and have been back almost every week since for some more wine tasting, evening bringing along friends. The wine club membership is 100% worth it even if my boyfriend and I just go once a week. The people working are always so kind and knowledgeable, I can't speak to wine bar 107 or any other part of Testarossa but the tasting room is like a second home at this point! I will say the only slightly negative experience I've had is one person in the tasting room commented on how fast I drank my Wine, but it wasn't a huge issue. Last night we took our daughter to Testarossa to celebrate her 21st birthday. Alfredo was AMAZING as our server. He gave us outstanding service and helped make her birthday extra special. As a result of his excellent service and a couple of really great glasses of red, we signed on as members. As usual, the food platters were delicious and abundant, and though I always enjoy Testarossa, this evening exceeded our expectations. Also: it was raining when our appointment was scheduled. We were prepared for the tents and heaters outdoors, but they set up tables inside, and the ambiance was warm and elegant. Although I love the ambiance of this winery I still find it difficult to love the staff. We were bringing in out of town guests to wine taste here and about 45 minutes away from our 1:30 tasting reservation we received a call to confirm our reservation. We asked at that time if we could be moved to a 2 hour food/wine tasting instead and they informed us nothing was available until 3 pm. So we kept our 1:30 - 45 minute tasting and grabbed a bite to eat on our way up to Testarossa. Upon arrival, we found the place was only 10% full and they had plenty of space to accommodate us in the food/tasting area. Seems to be a lack of communication within the facility. Emily and Alec are the best! They are both so kind and passionate about both wine and their jobs. This was our second time here and honestly as someone who loves wine and has been to numerous wineries this is one of my favorites. Ambiance is amazing- you literally walk in and feel like you're in Italy. It doesn't matter how busy they are, the workers always treat you like you're the only one there! They have free cold water stations everywhere and a beautiful outdoor seating area. Testarossa Chardonnay has become my absolute favorite and I usually hate white wines! Every time I have friends visiting from out of town I tell them to stop by here and they quickly fall in love. I will always recommend this place and can't wait to come back! read more

I hate writing bad reviews but we felt we were being profiled, so I felt compelled to write about our visit there this past Saturday. Our group of 8 girls were celebrating a bachelorette party. We were seated in a tented area for our tasting where we felt like our tastings were rushed. It went by so quickly, we asked if we could buy a few bottles so we can extend our stay. Kristen, who was helping us, had already tried to sell us their membership program but we nicely declined. She said we couldn't buy bottles unless we were members. We asked if we could drink elsewhere and she said the bar was full. It just so happened, I had come back from the bar area where I used the restroom and didn't recall it being too full so I walked over there and asked and they said they can setup a table for us right away. Well that was disappointing! Half of our group went to the bar to secure the table and the rest stayed to pay, but when Kristen saw that some of the girls were leaving, she quickly ran after them demanding that we pay. How embarrassing. Of course we were going to pay! Half of us stayed to make sure the bill was paid! We ended up with a table with a fire pit at the bar area where we stayed for another hour and got two bottles of wine. I wish we started there since the tasting experience was a total disaster. Kristen made everyone felt so uncomfortable and unwelcomed. She probably thought we were young and had no money?? It was ridiculous. We're all near our 40's, married and have kids. It's not like we were being loud or disrespectful, so profiling us was absolutely unnecessary. Shame on you Testarossa! read more

Yesterday was my 59th birthday. I am a cancer patient and, as such, did not make a confirmed reservation for tasting or the wine bar as I do not know whether I will feel well enough to attend an event. I had many suggestions for wineries to visit, but I chose Testarossa because I love Italian architecture, and I was intrigued by the family history of this winery. Unfortunately, my experience was horrendous. The Testarossa tried to play up the snobby upper-class attitude from the tasting room to the members' patio to the host at the wine bar. Rather than promoting a winery of class and history, they glorified commercialism. They topped it with nothing short of an amusement park factory mentality focused on making money versus an authentic and memorable experience. To say their customer service was lacking and unclassy is an understatement. I have been to the spectrum of wineries and lovely vineyards throughout the world, from mom-and-pop precious and intimate settings to castles to places that you would feel underdressed were you not in a shirt and tie, but none have been anything short of wonderful. Sadly, Testarossa Winery was the worst winery I have ever experienced. It was sad because their history is glorious, and it truly has so much potential for authenticity. My husband and I enjoyed our time here. They allow dogs which is great because we had our pup with us. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. The location is quiet, pretty and has a great atmosphere. Diane was amazing! She was super informative and taught us so many things about Testarossa and wine in general. Since this was a spontaneous trip to the winery over the long weekend, and we didn't have a reservation, the staff were helpful in making us one which was an hour later! Testarossa was one of wineries recommended to me by some Yelp friends. We went into the wine tasting room. I asked if the Yelp $5.00 wine bar check in could be used. The guy (his name began with an "A") said the Yelp check in could only be used in the wine bar. He told us the wine bar was closed that day. The guy could've made an exception in that case. Anyway, we were shown two wine tasting menus. The $10 menu consisted of regular wines that you can purchase in wine stores. The $20 menu was for premium wine tasting. (I can remember the days when wine tasting was free :-) We chose the premium menu for tasting. All the wines were enjoyable to taste. After we finished tasting, we looked around at the cool winery souvenirs for sale. I decided to purchase Lala's Cherry and Lavender Jam. We went back over to the same guy to make our purchase. We waited for him to pour for another person. It seemed like he did't want to assist us anymore. (I even tipped the guy 20% earlier). Anyway, a female waived us over (who was also pouring wines) and nicely assisted us with our purchase. I wish I had gotten her name. Later that evening, I tried the jam on crackers. It was sooo delicious! My rating is 3 Stars. I'm taking off two stars since the male could've made an exception to take the $5.00 Yelp checkin (since the wine bar was closed) and failed to assist us with our purchase. read more

We've had 3 corporate tastings & dinners here and the team is really great to work with. They have a lovely setup & servers - makes our night seamless. Chicken & Salmon buffet is great. The only thing I'll note is usually we dine in the cave and this time it was on the patio. In the cave the servers come around with wine but this time we had to go back up to the bar to grab more drinks. Not a deal breaker, but the wine service is a really nice touch and keeps everyone engaged at the table. Also, there was one heater that were sparking and one that just wasn't really working... again, not a big deal but just FYI to the property managers to check into it. I came here on a Sunday afternoon for the Artisan Wine & Cheese Experience. At the beginning of the tour, we were poured glasses of chardonnay to drink as we watched a short and informative video of the history of Testarossa Winery. So cool to learn the founders were Santa Clara alumni. Go Broncos! Bob was our guide and he showed us around the various cellars and workrooms. He happily poured us refills of the wine as we made our way around the property. We were then taken to a private tasting room where we tried five additional wines with pairings of farm-fresh cheeses and dried fruit. All of the wines I tried were delicious and smooth, and relatively low in tannins, which made them super easy to drink. My favorite by far was the 2016 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir, which smelled like a fresh bouquet of flowers. Yum! Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Testarossa. Wonderful, friendly, and fun place! Celebrated my 30th birthday here this past weekend with friends and we had such a blast! The people were so attentive and personable. The wine is incredible.... I especially liked the Pinot Noir. I'm usually not a big Chardonnay fan, but I actually enjoyed them here. The charcuterie boards are great, but I wish they had more food because we would've stayed longer if they did! Met friends for wine tasting over the holidays and it was wonderful. We happened to pick a date that it was raining but the whole tasting area was enclosed by tents which was perfect. I did feel rushed because as soon as two of us sat down they brought over the first tasting and two members of our party hadn't arrived yet. Before we were half way done with the tasting they brought out the next one so all of us were drinking a lot faster than we wanted to. The wines are hit and miss. There are definitely ones that were better than the others. I would go back just to sit at the wine bar and take my time if they had the particular wine available. The tasting We did the standard tasting which included two chardonnay wines and two Pinot noir wines. Their employees were very accommodating, and let us roam around between tastings. I personally stuck to the white wines- the 2017 Santa Rita hill Chardonnay and the 2017 fogstone vineyard Chardonnay. I wasn't particularly impressed with any of the white wines they had. I did not purchase a bottle to take home, which is a first for me. The atmosphere The place is located on the top of a hill in Los Gatos. They had one main tasting room, with a cool cave-like hallway leading to it. They decorated it quite nicely outside, with multiple tables and chairs for groups to sit and talk. Otherwise the rest of the place is dedicated to hosting events. They have a large event room inside and covered seating with heat lamps outside. If an event isn't going on, you could venture over to the fire pits they have in the event area, looked very cozy and we saw quite a few people drinking their purchased bottles of wine by the fire. The location This is where this place shines. It's only about 20 minutes from San Jose, one of the closest wineries you can go to from South Bay. The price $27 for a tasting in total with tax and tip, a bit on the higher side. Most places we go to in Napa are still at $10 or $15, so this seemed a bit expensive for a tasting of only 4 wines. Your tasting fee can go towards the purchase of any wine, but the prices on the wines were $41-$87. read more

Absolutely amazing! This place was just wonderful. I'm visiting the area and this place was a recommendation of a friend and it seriously did not disappoint. We did a tasting for 2 white wines and 2 reds. All of them were amazing. We also went to the wine bar and had a charcuterie board with some Pinot Rosé. So delicious! This place is an amazing place to have a dinner, birthday, or event at. The winery is physically gorgeous and the wine is even better. The membership offered is very enticing. Located in Los gatos off of college and university drive. Ample of parking available from a front parking lot to an additional lot, also free, yasss! Venue: once you park you will see a shed to the right of the parking lot. You will check in here if you have reservations or purchase your wine tastings here. We arrived around 12:30 pm (Sunday 6/2) and the girls were lovely. Super informative and very helpful with recommendations. We decided to do the wine tour with wine sampling's for $30. Otherwise, you can walk up to the wine tasting room and get your tasting on, on your own terms (no judgement, you wino ):) Tour 5/5: our tour guide Kirsty was so informative and you could tell she really enjoyed her job. She was passionate and so informative. We learned so much from our tour and we were able to experience four wine tastings (two Chardonnay and two Pinot). She was very sweet and thought it was a beautiful day and had us sample a rose before the tour and it was delicious. If I didn't live in Orange County I would have definitely became a member. I thought their member pricing was reasonable and worth it if you live close by. A great way to entertain friends! Once our tour was complete we headed to winebar 107 where they have wines and charcuterie boards for purchase. We got a cremerie board for $27 which our server Jarret was so sweet to suggest we could split half cheese and half meat instead. It was a wonderful recommendation for us first timers. We also got the "feeling snacky" board for $15 that includes potato chips, nuts and olives. Both boards went great with our Chardonnay! Overall, the venue was up kept and absolutely beautiful. Had an absolute blast here yesterday with my friends! We decided to visit Testarossa because Los Gatos is near San Jose and we didn't want to travel to Napa to wine taste. First of all, the winery is very easy to find - just a little past Downtown Los Gatos. There's always plenty of parking and the place is well kept. Mind you, they are open 7 days a week! Upon arrival, we stood at the bar and asked for the Cuvee tasting which was only $10. It came with a rose, chardonnay, pinot noir, and a blend. It was delicious! I really enjoyed the rose. If you purchase any of the bottles, they will comp the $10 tasting! What a great deal! We then took a seat at the Wine Bar and ordered a cheese plate and another bottle of rose. The cheese plate was, I believe, $26. The bottle of rose was $25 inside the tasting room and $22 in the wine bar. Not sure why the price difference, but it was still affordable. Loved the service here and the bar tenders knew their stuff! Definitely coming back here with my husband if we ever decide to go wine tasting! Testarossa Winery is a beautiful South Bay winery located near downtown Los Gatos that's definitely worth the visit. The winery was easy to find and parking was plentiful, at least on a Sunday afternoon when I came for the Artisan Wine and Cheese Experience. I thought I was supposed to check in with the concierge, and I was quite frustrated initially because the concierge never came and all of the other winery staff were running around and seemed really busy. I eventually flagged down a staff member and was directed to the correct place (entrance of the cave, which is located next to the restrooms). The Artisan Wine and Cheese Experience includes an informative short film at the beginning and a tour around the different cellars and other notable features. The tour is limited to 10-12 people per time slot, so the entire experience is quite engaging and intimate. You'll receive a glass of wine at the start of the tour, and then receive an additional five glasses along with cheeses at the end. Pay close attention to the guide when it comes to the cheese explanations otherwise you'll find yourself gnawing on wax from the cheese rind that's not supposed to be edible. Another thing I really loved about the Wine and Cheese experience is that you're seated at a long table in a closed room at the end for the wine tastings. Without all the noise and bustle like at the general tasting room, I was really able to focus on my wine and cheese and enjoy my time at Testarossa. read more
