Great ambiance, customer service, and wine! Coterie is a hidden gem located right in the heart of San Jose situated in a very cozy neighborhood. There's plenty of parking on the streets, but be mindful of the residential parking which requires permits to park at. Finally had the chance to drop by our neighborhood wine spot for their "Foodie Friday" event. There's, usually, a food truck that they have parked in front of their establishment. Had the absolute pleasure of meeting P and Kyle, and learned a bit of history behind their cellar; how they source their products, locally, and drive the grapes up from Paso Robles (I believe) and bottled at this very location. You have the option to grab a glass or purchase a bottle to enjoy in their seating areas (indoor or outdoor available). Should you find yourself unable to finish the bottle you purchased, they will re-cork it for you so you can bring it home. We laid our foundations before arriving, but really wished we hadn't because the food smelled soooo good! Looking forward to our next visit with them!

Wine was great, staff was nice, and it was fun to hear about how they actually bottle the wine themselves. We also got a snack plate that was delicious, and the seating area was very low key and relaxing.

We went here yesterday to celebrate our anniversary and had the best time! The atmosphere is super cozy with seating inside and outside, decor is beautiful and just all around inviting. It felt like being at home. Kyle who is the owner was absolutely amazing as well as Priya. They made us feel so welcome and we learned so much from them about the wines. Side note, I am super introverted so it's hard for me to feel comfortable outside of my house so finding a place where I felt completely relaxed and comfortable is huge. Also, Kyle is very compassionate...there was a gentleman that was lost and Kyle came out and talked to him and was so kind to him and helped him find his way back to where he was going. You don't see that often and it was very heartwarming. Wines are fabulous and we can't wait to come back!

What a hidden gem. We went in to look and I left a member. The owners are so nice and the membership is great. No pressure. They have free wine tasting for members on scheduled days. They also have a food truck every Friday that they pair the wine with the food that is being served. I am excited to try what else they have. You will see more pictures from me in the future at this place.

I've always seen this place & it's name come up as a local wine spot in San Jose, but never got a chance to check it out until recently. I attended a ladies social or smaller meet up group event here, and loved the overall feel and the wines weren't bad at all! Sometimes the nicer looking wineries or wine tasting rooms don't have the best wines. On the outside it's almost hard to find driving down the street and almost looks like those garage type businesses, but inside it's very warm inviting and we'll decorated. I was lucky to find parking but as it's most residential it's street parking or ride share may be recommended. The space itself is not super huge inside but does accommodate a generous amount of people and has tables inside and outside. Our server/hostess was Priyanka, and some that pour wine just pour without creating an experience for the guests, but Priyanka told us a lot of background story about the wines and even told us about some not on the tasting menu which was fantastic. Even going wine tasting a lot in East Bay Pleasanton/Livermore that type of service has gone down. The wines overall I liked some of the whites and reds, usually I prefer reds but their whites weren't terrible. The pours itself were light compared to other places but I was grateful as I had other events to attend. My only expectation was starting out with a bubbly or sparkling which I love at other wineries. They don't have one here, but I do look forward to coming back to try them again and purchase some bottles. I ordered the tasting and a snack tray, overall it was similar prices to East Bay snacks and wine around $45. I made a mistake of perhaps forgetting to ask for the meat and cheese tray items to be separated for my veg. friend. Or perhaps there should be a cheese only offering and one option with meat and cheese? They're a neighborhood winery with limited hours but did mention food trucks on certain days. A must to go, I would hope for extended hours on another Sunday but it's 1-5pm only. Cheers

Amazing experience! The winemaker was delightful and so attentive, providing great bits of history on the wines. Loved the option for the charcuterie plate to accompany the tasting - great for 1-2 people and there's an option to take home what you can't finish. Great to have a chance to spend time supporting an amazing local business and a winemaker who is truly passionate about the craft!

Wow what a nice place. Great ambiance light and airy. Serving area opens up into the front area facing trees. Amazing hostess, Sam was awesome. good prices and awesome wines. They have a great philosophy working with the vineyards in a more advisory role. The wines are truly classic. I joined their wine club which is a rare thing for me to do :-) Looking forward to the next pick up party

Hidden gem! Arrived to a charming, rustic (wood and metal) themed building and was immediately greeted by two friendly hosts. First impression was great. Very warm and inviting decor with seated or standing tables. Although much of the place has wood accents, it is modernized with the tasting menu displayed on a tv screen. We had the tasting which is $10/person and boasted a range of wines from Sauvignon Blanc to Syrah. No cab, but you really don't miss it especially on a warm day. If you like easy drinking wines, this is the place for you. They have their own "flair" to many of the varietals which I found pleasing. Two vastly different Pinot noirs that were both delightful. Will definitely be returning!

WORLD RENOWNED! 5.0…read more Living in the Bay Area, we're fortunate to have Ridge Winery right in our own "backyard." Ridge's winemakers craft some of the most exceptional wines by blending a variety of grapes into the finished product...the wine in your glass. Everywhere we dine, both on land and at sea, the Ridge name is well known and highly respected for producing outstanding wines. From the base of the mountain, the 15-minute drive up Montebello Road is a winding route to the winery. Some of the turns have a very tight radius, and you'll be sharing the road with cyclists as well as oncoming traffic, so drive with extra caution. Before your visit, be sure to reserve a tasting on their website. Tastings are available for a fee for non-members. We belong to the Trio Membership, which includes ATP, Z List, and Monte Bello Collector. Ridge also offers private release events for members, along with additional benefits depending on the membership level (see their membership page for details). These events often feature exclusive tastings and wine releases accompanied by hors d'oeuvre stations arranged throughout the property. On non-event days, our tastings are complimentary, and we're allowed to bring up to two guests. Small bites, including cheeses, crackers, pâté, and salami, are available for purchase. When the weather is just right (not too hot or too cold) the winery opens several seating areas, including the covered barn, the shaded patio adjoining the barn, and multiple patio spaces at varying elevations throughout the property. Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be walking along short but hilly paved pathways. One word of caution: you'll notice posted signs warning, "Beware of Rattlesnakes." Fortunately, we've yet to encounter one. The winery itself is absolutely beautiful, with impeccably manicured grounds. Meandering pathways lead you through the barn, out to the patios, and up to the top of the hill, where you're rewarded with breathtaking views of the valley. You know you're perched high above Silicon Valley when you look down and spot two iconic landmarks: Apple's Ring Building, better known as "The Spaceship," and Moffett Field's Hangar One. At an elevation of 2,300 feet, these massive structures appear surprisingly small. The winery's crème de la crème is the Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon. Not only does this wine age beautifully, but it has also appreciated significantly in value over the years. We currently have a 2009 bottle that will need to be opened soon. I recommend following the guidance printed on the back label, which suggests the ideal number of years to cellar the wine before opening. During our last tasting, I especially enjoyed the 2024 Paso Robles Zinfandel, which has a recommended drinking window of about seven years. It was already drinking beautifully, but I'm looking forward to tasting it again in 2031 and comparing how it has evolved. A visit to Ridge Winery always makes for a wonderful afternoon: a scenic, twisty drive, thoughtfully guided wine tastings, spectacular views, and, of course, a few bottles to bring home and enjoy later. This review isn't intended to analyze the subtleties and tasting notes of each wine. Rather, it's an invitation to experience Ridge for yourself, learn about its wines through a guided tasting, and discover your own favorites. Compare, explore, and elevate your palate.

Beautiful winery with stunning views of the Santa Cruz Mountains and a lovely overall atmosphere…read more We had an 11:00 AM tasting reservation. Based on years of visiting wineries, we typically arrive about 10 minutes early to allow time for parking, check-in, and getting settled. We arrived at 10:50 AM, only to find the gates closed. There were about five other parties waiting outside the gate as well, which was a bit surprising. The gates were opened right at 11:00 AM. If the team is not ready to welcome guests before the scheduled start time, it would be better not to offer an 11:00 AM reservation slot. This was a first for us and could be improved with better guest communication. Once inside, we were seated promptly, and our tasting host was very pleasant and knowledgeable. However, she stepped away for about 15 minutes, and the transition to the next tasting was delayed until we had to ask for assistance. A smoother handoff between team members would have made the experience feel more seamless. We also purchased a bottle of wine and were surprised that single-bottle wine carriers were not available. Having a simple wine bag or carrier option would be a nice touch, especially for guests who are purchasing to take home. Overall, the winery has a wonderful setting, beautiful surroundings, and a great vibe. With a few improvements to guest arrival coordination, service flow, and small hospitality details, it could be an exceptional experience.

The outdoor tasting area is surrounded by vines and has a lovely view of the Almaden Reservoir. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a tasting and the picnic we brought. The tasting consisted of 4 wines, though you could pay $5 more and taste the port as well. The pours weren't stingy and did give you enough to really enjoy each wine. More knowledge was shared about the bottles than the actual wines themselves, but we did have a menu we could follow along with. We tasted 2 whites, a rosé, and one red while we were there. I noticed all the syrah grapes while walking into the property, so I did ask for a taste of that since they had it open and was given a small splash. I enjoyed most of the wines we had, but thought they were a little pricey for whites/rosé. They're reservation only and you do have to prepay when making the reservation. Though tastings are $25, with tax and the already included tip, our tasting for 3 came out to $100. It seemed like there was a $5/pp included gratuity, which I thought was odd having to pay for in advance. One tasting is waived with a 3 bottle purchase. Not sure if I would come back for a tasting, but would definitely come back to picnic with a bottle of wine! The view is truly fantastic!
