I'm a resident of NYC who agreed to purchase this vehicle sight unseen based on the strong reassurance from Crystal Butler, a Texas Auto sales rep that this vehicle was a diamond in the rough. She contacted me numerous times to solidify the purchase, provided me personal videos to affirm that this was a sound vehicle. She stated that she herself drove the car and could attest that this was in immaculate condition and has passed the dealerships vigorous inspection process. After some discussion of price and some fees I unsuccessfully attempted to avoid such as the "key programming fee for $299" we settled on a tentative purchase price. Once we agreed to proceed forward, I was presented to Amy Rivera, their finance rep. She bargained the price of the vehicle, waived some fees but clarified that the "$299 key programming service was actually an anti-theft window etch fee that cannot be waived because it's a service they already paid for. Amy ran my credit, took my deposit, began my finance application, mailed me about a dozen documents etc...I set up transportation to have the vehicle picked up in Texas and brought to me, prepared all the documents and issued a $9500 down payment ck. To clarify the timeline of events, I received the video on a Thurs 2/18, mailed in ppwk and ck on Mon 2/22, with many texts and calls in between. THEN, I received a phone call from Mo the sales manager to deliver me some unfortunate news that the IMMACULATE 2019 Mustang with less than 19000 miles had experienced some mechanical issues when the Owner of Texas Auto was driving the vehicle over the course of the weekend, AFTER I placed a deposit on the car which on their website in the description was advertised as 18k mikes, as well as 18,583, then I was told it was actually 18,889 miles not to mention the miles the owner put on AFTER I submitted a deposit. Mo told me that he was sorry that he waited until today to notify me but because of the conditions in Texas it prohibited the Owner from advising his staff. Again, supposedly the owner had the vehicle in his possession, unable to communicate with his staff, yet Crystal just 2 days earlier recorded a video of the car running on their lot. Mo then advised me that he can have a rebuilt transmission placed in the car for me, naturally I was outraged that he was offering to place a rebuilt engine into a 2 yr old car I was assuming ownership of. When I expressed my outrage, he recanted and said he meant a brand-new transmission. This was simply a couple examples of their fabrications. The "key programming fee" which was then changed to a "anti-theft fee" was presented as a non-negotiable fee yet on the ppwk I filled out, it was listed as a voluntary charge. There were numerous errors I discovered in the total purchase cost, double charges, milage inconsistencies. Needless to say my discussion with Mo did not go well and was abruptly terminated. When I attempted to reach Amy, and Crystal, the reps that called me and vice versa countless times were no longer available to reach. Amy did respond in text and agreed to refund my deposit, and simply texted "I apologize" which till this point is a refund I haven't received. TEXAS AUTO DID A GREAT JOB OF LIVING UP TO THE USED CAR STEROTYPE. I was extremely fortunate that the transportation co. had yet departed, and that I was able to recover my ck and ppwk from Fed Ex. Stay Away!!!! Believe me, I lost a ton of time, patience, not to mention I divulged a lot of personal information because of this worthless interaction. There is a reason for all the bad reviews that plague this place and my wife and I had the displeasure of experiencing it first hand. Customer-focus is a concept unheard of at Texas Auto. We saw a vehicle on CarGurus at an advertised price and called in to check on availability. Once told it was available we went to check it out. Our first encounter was With Philip who wasted about 20 minutes going out of his way and prove my wife wrong about something she said about a car she saw. Then he proceeded to tell us that this advertised price is what they're selling this vehicle for and that there was no negotiation. Funny. If I didn't want a no-haggle zero negotiation experience, I would've went to Carmax. At least they respect their customers. Anyway, we told Philip that we couldn't that, thanked him, wished him a good day and left. Ten minutes later we get a call from Michael (one of the sales managers) "trying to understand if we came thinking that we're going to get a big discount." Really? When I told him that they wouldn't even listen to what our budget was he snapped, said "this is 2018, and when people advertise prices online, that's what they're selling it for!" - seriously? what kind of screwed up logic is that? He proceeded, "you know my number if you want to do business with us, call us back, thank you" and hung up before we could say anything. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I called them back and asked for another manager, and spoke to Adam this time around. Obviously they all attended the same training... Adam went to explain why this is a great deal and how they spent money on maintenance and oil changes... and nonchalantly dismissed everything we mentioned about the lack of professionalism displayed by his colleague. Here's a question - if you're not even willing to listen to your customers, why call them back a second time claiming you want their business, offer the same thing then end the conversation with you hanging up in your customer's face?! I guess it's a good thing we're in 2018 where we can call people out on their B.S. on social media. Long story short - avoid this place unless you want to ruin your day. read more

This is the worst dealership I've ever been to, first off the customer service is horrible, they have cars out on the lot that's not fully serviced or checked. So please be mindful and check everything out on the car before you drive off the lot. They sold me a car with not 1, not 2, not 3, but with all 4 bad tires on it plus it needed a alinement real bad. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anybody! Not even my worst enemies!!! Think again before you go to this dealership! There's wayyyyyy better options out there so just don't settle for a POS dealership like this. Never again will I step foot or buy a car from there. Found a car on the USAA car buying website; went to see the car and they quoted a price $2,000 higher than on the USAA site; pointed this out and at first they told me they did not work with USAA, but after bringing in the "the manager" they finally said they did work with USAA and would honor the price. I wasn't sold but gave a $500 deposit to hold while I continued to look. Found a car 2 years newer and $3000 cheaper 2 days later, so called and cancelled this deal. It has been over 3 weeks, I have called several times to get my deposit back, but each time they say they will check into it and get right back to me - never happens. It is now going to force me to call the credit card company and dispute this charge - I cannot in good conscience recommend this dealer at all. read more

What a horrible experience ! Buyer BEWARE ! I purchased a 550 Mercedes Benz and it was completely misrepresented. And of course once they had my money, the salesperson, David was no longer interested in helping. The vehicle was shipped to Virginia so I trusted the Texas Auto salesperson to completely describe the vehicle. Upon unloading the vehicle from the transport, I see a big " star " in the windshield. The salesperson claimed that he didnt know anything about it however the service manager stated that it had been repaired. Next, I drive the vehicle just over a mile and the coolant light comes on. I raise the hood and coolant is spraying all over the engine. Fortunately, I was a block from home so was not stranded. Now that the vehicle is in my driveway... I can give it a look over... The manual and spare key that the Salesperson said was present was not. During the purchase process, I WAS FORCED to buy a key warranty for $399. When I refused, I was told that it was mandatory. That should have raised a Red flag but I was caught up in the excitement of getting a new ( to me ) vehicle. And although I hav asked for a copy of the Key Warranty that I purchased, I still do not have it. The next day, I notice evidence of damage to the right front. The vehicle had sustained some amount of front end impact and was obvious but not disclosed. Upon driving the vehicle, I hear a "clunking" noise from the front end. At this point, I feel sick to my stomach and realize that I have been ripped off. After my complaint to Texas Auto, the Service manager Erik began communication an did pay to have the coolant leak repaired. He also agreed to pay for ( only ) 1/2 of the windshield replacement and a portion of the repair to the front end noise ( a bad strut ). There were also two very obvious, rotten air duct hoses that Erik agreed to pay for. To date, he has only paid 1/2 of the windshield cost and the coolant leak repair. I am stuck with the entire invoice for the Strut, air ducts and cleaning of the engine compartment from the coolant spray. Not to mention, I have had to rent a vehile while this one was in the shop for days having these repairs made. Lastly and perhaps more disturbing... I was provided 60 day temporary tags while they were to send me permanent tags. ( Yes, that was an additional fee too ) My tempory tags expire in 5 days and I still do not have the permanent tags. I have reached out to the service manager, Erik and the General Manager Todd. As of this writing, no response. I have purchased sight uunseen before and have always been satisfied. Not this time. I would strongly recommend checking out the vehicle in person or hire a third party inspector. I would not trust a salesperson again. It is rather unbeleiveable that management isnt stepping up to right this wrong. read more

On Friday, October 13th, 2017 I called and made an appointment with Kevin Norris. He was eager to listen to what we were looking for and offered to show us all of his Jeep Wranglers in stock. I was looking for a low mileage Jeep Wrangler with little frills at NADA retail pricing for financing purposes. He was friendly, courteous and offered us water and invited us inside to cool down since it was a hot Texas afternoon. We told about our bad experience with another dealership he tried to address our needs and make assure we would not have that experience at his dealership. We found a Wrangler that was close to our price and we tried working with Kevin. The pricing we were looking for was the official NADA Retail pricing that was also offered by the other dealerships in the area. Once again we were looking for fair pricing. Kevin had to get his manager involved for that amount of a concession. Michael Martin stepped in. He spent less than what seemed 3 minutes with us. Michael interrupted me several times and tried to say that the pricing on the model we were looking for was too low. We showed him our research on NADA values on the retail price and we offered more than NADA but lower than their price. We even showed him what he received on a trade and or auction. And that they would still make money on the deal. That is a win -win for their dealership and for me. Kevin understood what I was looking for and tried to work with the resources he had at the time. As soon as I told him I was pre approved for 4% with my credit union he stopped listening. He proceeded to show me other models that were not even at that location that had much higher mileage. Michael only saw the price sensitivity and showed me other models that were close to the price. He never asked the right questions. What are the most important things you are needing in your purchase? If we can provide a solution for those needs are you ready to make the deal today? He never even offered a counter offer. Who does not even offer a counter offer?As a business owner I know I sometimes have to work with clients, negotiate the deal to make it happen. He started acting as if I was wasting his time. Avoiding the issues I was bringing up, avoiding eye contact. He handed me a Carfax report and said this is what we can do on a vehicle that is not even on the lot and is at auction and walked out of the office. How unprofessional is that? He gives a bad reputation to honest sales people who really do care about their craft. I would avoid working with Michael Martin as much as possible. This is no fault due to Kevin or their dealership or their inventory. I purchase the exact Silver 4 Door Wrangler I wanted and needed for my family and lifestyle from another dealership that wasn't even a Jeep/Dodge Certified Dealer. They Sold GMC and Chevy... Michael truly owes Kevin an apology on this one. I feel bad for Kevin because if we could have just negotiated a little more we could have bought the same jeep from him instead. read more

Buyer beware!!! This place is absolute garbage when it comes to anything other than selling you a vehicle. I purchased a Porsche from this location in July 2020. Great sales rep however the vehicle had many issues. First the car that was advertised online having Premium floor mats that I was told by the rep this is a common practice to take pictures then will return mats back to original car which mean you would not receive this item upon purchase. That is clearly false advertising. Second after less than 20 miles driving off the lot the vehicle check engine light came on saying oil need replacing. Paid out of pocket $200 for oil change less than a week after purchasing vehicle. Also 2 days after purchase Texas auto calls me and lets me know that they did not do a inspection on the vehicle before or after the vehicles purchase and that I would be responsible to provide this to them in order to obtain my license plate. After providing them with the inspection I called in a few times to check the status of my license plate getting connected with with a girl in charge of mailing plates ( who slurred her speech which made me assume she was on drugs) to be told they have no idea when my plates would be in and no update can be given. On September 23 I hired a lawyer to obtain my plates. September 24 got a call saying my plates would be shipped to me. Unless you want to purchase a vehicle, do all the work the dealership should be doing, and most likely have to hire a lawyer to get any results I would stay far far away from this place. read more

We were able to negotiate a fair price and the salesman was very polite. They were able to beat an already great rate from Chase by 0.5%. Can't ask for much more from a car dealership. read more

Me and my husband bought a car from them on the 9th of June it's now sitting in our yard broke down after driving it home from Texas to Mississippi. Tony the dealership guy said they did all maintenance and made sure everything is set to go. Mind u this is a 16,000$ car that we are now putting money into before our first payment. We called talk to the manager but of course there's nothing they can do because they knew exactly what they were doing and that was to RIP us off. This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with and I will make sure that this gets around. We didn't want our money back just for u to fix what u obviously didn't fix. Recently purchased a H3 Hummer from this dealership and the experience was horrible. First they ran a post dated check a week before they were told to and it drained my account and I had no money for about a week until the issue was resolved. Then they delivered the vehicle dead and it would not turn on. The transporter said he told them and they said to take it as is. Now I received a letter that I've been reported to a credit agency because we stopped payment on the post dated check that they ran early. Just stay away would be my only advice. The staff treats you like crap once the deal is made also. See for yourself. read more

Philip (Salesman) was courteous, nice and friendly. The people were nice. Unfortunately, they were not upfront about the car they sold me. Either they cleaned the carpets and closed the car up while still wet or the car leaks really bad (which it isn't that because it has rained since purchase). Four days after purchase, I went out and there was moisture on the car on every window that looked like dew. However, when I turned on the the windshield wipers it wasn't on the outside, it was on the inside. The next day, the car reeked of mildew smell and I began to notice what looked like mildew. A day later and the seal around the sunroof came up and it is completely rusted out. I like the car, I just wish they had been honest about what was wrong with her. I would not recommend buying a car from here as I don't believe they are upfront about the condition of the cars they sell. Just be aware, ask every question IMAGINABLE! Was it in a flood? Was it in a wreck? Did they clean the carpet? Did they do a full inside detail? What condition was the car when it came in? Feel the carpets (under the mats!), look under the seats, fold down every seat, open the sunroof and check the seals (literally be sure they are still attached to the car!), check the door seals, as well (of course) as check all the fluid levels and colors. Ask if you can take it to another shop to get it looked over. GET IT IN WRITING that it was never flooded or wrecked. Even if they are selling it "AS IS", ask those questions.
