I spent about a month shopping for a new truck, and my experience with Mac Haik Dodge is something I think other buyers should know about. I originally stopped at Mac Haik Dodge, but they didn't have the truck I was looking for. Salesman Alexander Cabrera asked me to give him the opportunity to beat any deal I found before making a purchase elsewhere. I gave him my word that I would. I eventually found a truck at another dealership for a very competitive price. As promised, I contacted Alexander before moving forward. He told me they had just received a truck that matched what I was looking for, so I went to see it on June 30, 2026. The payment they presented was higher than I wanted, and I explained to Alexander, the sales manager Shon, the finance manager, and another manager that I wanted to compare financing through my credit union before making a decision. Unfortunately, it was around 5:00 p.m., and my credit union was already closed. Everyone understood that I wanted one business day to review my financing options. The next morning, I spoke with my credit union and found out I could receive a lower interest rate, GAP coverage for less, and a better extended warranty at a lower price if I financed through them. It made much more financial sense. I contacted Alexander and simply asked him to prepare a purchase order for my credit union. Instead, I was given a significantly higher selling price than what we had discussed the previous evening. When I asked what happened to the original price, I was told they could no longer honor it. During that conversation, Alexander also told me I was trying to buy something I couldn't afford and essentially said that because I didn't purchase it the night before, I had missed my opportunity. I found those comments unprofessional and unnecessary, especially after I had honored my word by giving him the opportunity to earn my business before buying elsewhere. I also reached out to Shon, the sales manager, by both voicemail and text to discuss what had happened, but I never received a response. My takeaway is this: if you want to use your own financing or simply take time to compare your options before making a major purchase, don't expect the same level of customer service. I understand dealerships have the right to change pricing, but changing the deal overnight because I wanted to use my credit union and make an informed financial decision left a very bad impression. I normally don't write negative reviews, but Alexander specifically asked me to give him the opportunity to earn my business. I did exactly that. Unfortunately, once I decided to do my homework instead of rushing into financing through the dealership, the experience changed completely. My advice to anyone shopping here is simple: get everything in writing, compare financing before you visit if possible, and don't let anyone pressure you into making a financial decision you're not completely comfortable with. read more

I requested information on a vehicle 2 days ago that was advertised on their website and got an immediate response from a nice lady named Diana. I scheduled a time with her for today to travel to Houston and look at the vehicle. Almost immediately I started getting texts from a salesman named Alex Cabrera who texted me 3 times to confirm our appointment. When we arrived at the dealership he was with another customer so another salesman showed us the vehicle. When Alex was free, he joined us along with the other salesman. The normal discussion and negotiations took place, and while Alex made another trip to give my proposal to his manager, a different salesman brought a younger couple over to look at the vehicle we were negotiating on, and got the keys to the vehicle and started the car for 'his customers'! They went back to the other salesman's cubicle. Alex stayed in his manager's office for a good while and then returned to give me their final 'deal'! We told him we would talk it over while we travelled our 2 hour drive back home. I noticed the other couple was still there with the other salesman when we were leaving. After my wife and I agreed on our offer, we called Alex back, about 20 minutes after leaving, and he told us the vehicle was sold to the other couple! It became obvious to me that they were dealing with the other couple behind closed doors and behind our backs! Once at the dealership, you ask for Capital One Rep, they are not there but you are being helped by a sales person. You do the test drive on the car of your choice. They then ask if you are okay with going through an estimate check without running your credit. This will determine how much your payments will be before you do anything formally. They NEVER mention anything about your so called pre-approval from Capital One. You bring it up and they so very nicely dance around it with bullshit words to throw you off the track. I want to preface this review with the fact that I buy new cars frequently, 12 in the last 10 years, and I have purchased two vehicles from Mac Haik Dodge previously. Those two purchases, a 2016 Dodge Durango and a 2020 Jeep were both easy and I had no issues at all. I wasn't in the market for a new vehicle when I stopped by Mac Haik Dodge on Wednesday. I was there to pick up a$113.00 oil filter for my 2020 dodge Ram Eco-diesel (that is a separate topic for another day). Anyway, while there I asked for a trade in value for my truck. It was a fair offer and got me thinking about buying a new truck. I couldn't stay Wednesday afternoon to look at any vehicles, but I told the salesman I would be in touch. On Thursday morning, I found two trucks, I was interested in and texted the salesman for pictures of the two trucks. The photos on Mac Haik's web page were stock. In short order the salesman returned my text with photos of one of the trucks, a red one. I am not a big fan of red, but the truck was decent. The online ad (see attached) stated the sale price on the truck was $65,225.00 and the MSRP was $69,275.00. So, I texted the sales guy and asked them if I could get the truck for $68K out the door (tax, tag and title included), which I thought was a fair offer. The salesman would not initially respond with a price but was trying to get me to come to the dealership. I don't have time to waste at a dealership, so I usually make a deal before I get there. Finally, about 6 hours later the salesman texted me back with his out the door price.....$82,326.00!!! I was flabbergasted. How do you get 82K from a 65K sales price?!?! Sales tax on 65K is about $4k, which puts it at 69K. Add tax and title were looking at 70K'ish. NOT 82K!!! When I asked the salesman about it he stated that they added 10K because of the market for it. And, He stated they had a deposit on it for 82K. Sounds fishy to me. If the market was so hot for this truck than why did they have to discount the price on their website in the first place? My opinion is they thought they had a sucker and was trying to maximize the profit at my expense, so they just marked it up because I showed interest in it. And, if they did actually have a deposit at that price then they did in fact find someone to take advantage of, in my opinion. There are plenty of similar or better equipped around Houston with better pricing. I find it highly unlikely that someone would pay an extra 10K for a truck with so few options. This was not a limited or Laramie and was barely equipped. In my opinion this is an unscrupulous and shady business practice. If Mac Haik Dodge wants to operate by misleading advertising, price gouging, or otherwise taking advantage of customers that show interest in their vehicles than they can count themselves as having one less customer. I shall not return to Mak Haik Dodge. read more

I wish I could have given 0 stars #MacHaik. I purchased a '23 Diesel Jeep Wrangler Sahara the last week in March. Unbeknownst to me, my vehicle had not been through the final inspection/set-up procedure when the dealership plugs in the fob/pod and goes thru the systems. I drove off the lot with a tire that was not properly inflated, my onboard computer software not updated, a battery that was only at 17%, my DEF had not been filled the rest of the way, LoJack that was not connected and my WiFi not connected. I brought the vehicle back two more times to see if I could get help with the LoJack.... So there was ample opportunity for the dealership to go through the final systems check, however they did not. *LoJack still does not work- Their answer was call the 800 and I did several times with no response. *Blew-out my new tire and had to replace it because it was improperly inflated. *Took my Jeep to #BayTown... who were amazing, to get the battery properly charged and the onboard computer fixed and updated. *Still do not have WiFi. *Had to purchase DEF within the first 3000 miles. I did reach out to the sales manager who was down right nasty with me and said that they were not going to compensate me for any of my costs or time and it was not their problem. In fact he is the one that told me the dealership did not care if I left a bad review. Clearly they do not care about their clients/customers. #Baytown did everything they could to help me but they could not do the final set-up and help with the WiFi or the LoJack (Different LoJack Company) because I had not purchased my Jeep from them. I lost time and money because #MacHaik did not do their job and no one cared enough to do anything about it when I brought it to their attention.
