Her name is Sai (sp?) and she greeted us with a smile that was so uplifting! She came by several times with the many offered amenities and just made our trip a pleasure. I would honestly rather take Vonlane than fly! Can't wait for our next Vonlane adventure! Also kudos to the driver who left on time and made sure we had a safe trip!

Update on Vonlane…read more When the news of an arctic front was coming to the hill country in TX last week, my wife and I were in Houston for work. We had intended to fly back that Wednesday but when the weather turned bad, we had to get back to the hill country. We cancelled our Wednesday flight and booked on Vonlane that day, Monday. They were conveniently picking up passengers at the Galleria at the Hyatt on Sage Rd. The ride was great - my wife was able to work on her laptop until her battery ran low, by then pretty close to San Antonio. The reason for this review is not about the ride. Their coaches are first class so the ride is always great. In our haste to get out and get to the hill country, I forgot my leather hat where I sat. I realized that I forgot my hat while in an Uber car so I called Vonlane customer service. I told them about leaving my hat in the coach where I sat. The person I talked to was very responsive and she was going to check on it. The next day, I was told that they did find my hat and with the ice storm and everything, I could not reclaim my hat until today, Sunday! I was told that today would be a good day to pick it up so I did! The Vonlane coach was there, knocked on the door and told the person that answered that I was there to reclaim my hat. They said they had it and brought it to me! Of course, I gave a tip to the crew because I was glad to get a favorite hat back! Overall, the customer service of Vonlane went above and beyond what I thought it would be. I never thought I'd see my hat again but when they handed it to me today, it was wrapped in plastic with my name, phone number and other data to identify who I was. What a service! Thank you Vonlane!

On March 3, 2026, I boarded Greyhound Bus Route US1160 traveling from San Antonio to Austin. The boarding process itself was relatively straightforward, but a serious issue arose after my trip when I realized approximately one hour after arrival that my suitcase had been left in the secured undercarriage compartment of the bus. Because the undercarriage luggage compartment is locked and controlled exclusively by Greyhound personnel, the bag remained in the company's custody while the bus continued to its final stop in Dallas. I immediately submitted a lost property report while the bus was still in transit and was told the investigation would take approximately 7 business days. It has now been about a month without recovery of the suitcase or a clear explanation regarding what inspection procedures were conducted once the bus reached its final destination. The suitcase contained electronics, clothing, and personal items, including limited-availability apparel that cannot easily be replaced. Additionally, during the claims process I requested a reasonable communication accommodation due to a disability that affects my ability to process complex written communication in high-stress situations. I requested phone communication to ensure effective participation in resolving the issue, but communication continued primarily through email, making the process significantly more difficult. When asking questions regarding Emotional Support Animal (ESA) policies, responses at times felt dismissive when simply seeking clarification. Given that many travelers rely on Greyhound as an affordable transportation option, clearer procedures and more consistent customer support would greatly improve the experience. I hope Greyhound improves: * lost property handling procedures * communication transparency * accessibility-related communication practices * customer support responsiveness I am sharing this experience so other travelers can be informed and so improvements can be made to help prevent similar issues in the future. Documentation of the timeline and claim communications is available.

It only took us 5 hours and 25 minutes to get from the pickup point in SA to the drop off point in Dallas. Since COVID times, rider attendance is down, so they don't seem to be using the double decker buses with the tables facing each other. It was a standard Greyhound type bus contracted out of Kerrville, but we were able to sleep and watch Netflix on their free WiFi, and take advantage of their power plugs. Both 110V standard plugs for laptops, as well as USB charging ports. The bus even had a restroom for the 5 hour trip, and the bus was clean and in good shape. Tickets from San Antonio to Dallas are only $32.54 - one way (including taxes, fees, etc.). You just can't beat that with a stick! Keep in mind that they will make a stop in Austin to drop people off and board additional passengers. The driver announced that it would be a 10 minute stop, but it was closer to 30 minutes. Regardless, we still made it to DFW ahead of schedule. Pickup and drop off spots: San Antonio - just a big old parking lot. No indoor waiting area, so don't show up too early. Austin- it looks like they have an indoor facility but it was closed by the time we got there. Dallas - drop off - located at Fuel City, which is a popular food and party place on late Saturday nights. I hope I don't have to use this service again any time soon, but it's good to know it's there if you need it! I would use it again if necessary. Good value!

A clean motor coach 3. An on-time driver 4. A driver that knows where the hell he is going Of my experience with Star Shuttle, it's A+ on all four things. It starts with Juan Ibarra, who was our driver for 2 weeks as we toured San Antonio, Austin, and The Hill County of Texas. He was superb. First of all, he was just NICE. Good conversationalist, pleasant, helped people off with a hand (when needed), was always in a good mood. Actually chimed in with some interesting facts along the way. Second of all, he knows the area like the back of his hand. We had to get through San Antonio's morning rush-hour traffic. Instead of losing an hour like everyone else, he took us on short cuts that took less than half the time. Third of all, ALWAYS on time. I will always have this image in my head of his Star Shuttle motor coach just pulllllllling up to the sidewalk in from of the Bullock Museum just as we are coming out. Fourth, he's a good driver. He negotiated the streets of San Antonio and our multiple stops. Our hotel in Austin (the Hyatt Place at Austin airport) wasn't built with motor coaches in mind. With a max degree of difficulty, he got us in to the hotel front. And then, there's the coach. Comfortable, flexible, clean, and lovely views. The sound system and technology hook-up (HDMI, etc.) was great. A bathroom, but nobody really used it with all the stops we had. Absolutely top-flight experience. Juan was amazing. Give that dude a RAISE!!!!!
