This place does NOT help with Mental Help, It causes mental problems. I wish I had looked here before I went there. My insurance paid over $2,900 for this mess, I will be contacting them also. I tried to schedule an appointment for three weeks before I finally was able to get one and it was about two weeks out. I explained that I needed the results of the testing for my scheduled doctor appoint and was assured that it would be taken care of by then. I showed up for my appointment with the doctor today and they had not sent the report, the doctors office called them and asked if they would send it over and they rudely said NO. So I had to reschedule with the doctor for another 10 days out and when I asked them if the report would be finished by then they were not sure. The office staff is surly and the person on the telephone can hardly be understood. I know English is not her primary language but I can't figure out what is. She usually speaks in gibberish. I appreciate the professional health worker I see for medication management. He a nice guy who is quite capable. I would advise him to trust his own instincts. My reservations are with the organization itself, with people who tried to insist that I see someone else for consultation after a small bout with anxiety. Trying to navigate the idiocracy of the bureaucracy to even get an appointment with these people has completely turned me off. I am sure they have some competent professionals there - but the screening, intake and scheduling process is an outright nightmare. First - they have you put all of your personal data into an online screening system. Fine. Then - said screening system closes before you have entered all data. System will not allow you access to your private data. The chat person is in another country and asks you the identical questions repeatedly over and over again. When asked to have a person call you, said person is in another country and impossible to hear or understand. Then said person doesn't understand you either. So said person sends you - FINALLY - to a receptionist on site. Where you get to answer all the same questions AGAIN. Then I am told - In order to have screening done for ADD/ADHD their 'policy' is to 'force' you to do an intake with one of 'their' doctors. I already have a referral from both my PCP as well as my own therapist for the diagnostic exam. When I said that was not only steering but illegal and unnecessary - they sent me to a manager who then said 'hello' and hung up on me. Yeah. Take a day off. Try to jump through the red tape. I attempted to make an appointment for my son. I had to provide both our social security numbers, insurance information and other information before they would do so. Then, they said the nearest appointment would be almost two weeks out. They are rude and condescending. Why did we go? Because it is do difficult to find someone to see minor children. The office is extremely difficult to find. We show up and see a line out the door. They play audio commercials for medications in the lobby. I have been a patient with Texas Behavioral since I was 16-17yrs old when I left the hospital in Bellaire. I am now 24 yrs old & never have I ever experienced an awful visit until today. I personally dislike virtual calls because it makes me feel like I'm being watched or recorded & so I feel uncomfortable & unsafe. As a paying patient that's seeking help & guidance at a place that's supposed to help others & get their lives back on track, I expected the employees to be more helpful & professional. Instead I got a frustrated front desk employee going back & forth with me & having so much attitude. Of course if someone is piling their BS on me, I'm going to get frustrated as well. I called 2 DAYS IN A ROW to confirm my appointment as an in office appointment & both times I got told it was a for sure in office appointment. When I get there my whole appointment was changed to virtual & I was super upset that no one contacted me 24hrs before to let me know that way I had the time to reschedule especially since I paid for my service in advanced!! This morning I took my friend to see her doctor and when she checked in, the receptionists were completely rude to her. I'm very disappointed in how they treated her. They were rude to her because they claim they called her to confirm her appointment but they never did. And when she was up there, they told her "now you have to suffer for not confirming." Sadly, she was treated this way for THEIR mistake. It turns out the office called a different number and they still wouldn't understand that it was their fault. They took super long to let her see her doctor on purpose for "not confirming the appointment." Unfortunately, my friend was already depressed. That's the main reason for her appointment. She really didn't need to be treated so rudely. Another thing they did was that they charged her an extra $25 and had to refund it back because the stupid lady changed her extra for not paying attention to how much her insurance actually covered. If my friend wouldn't have noticed the extra charge, the office would've made an extra $25 for no reason. I've been coming here for my ADHD for 2 years and I used to see Dr. Haq before she started hiring NPs to do her work for her. My NP was Farland and she was super nice and now I have to see a new NP because I guess Farland left.. so that was upsetting. Scheduling: I've never had an issue with scheduling but if you miss your appointment they do charge a $35. It used to be $50. Employees: It's always a hit or a miss with their front desk secretaries. Sometimes they are attentive and others they are not. I've gotten rude ones and incompetent ones but I recently came back here after a year of not coming because I recently received new insurance. My name is Dustin Deans, I'm a Iraq War Combat Veteran and have had a wonderful experience with Texas Behavioral Health until I talked to Dr. Karen Hughels today. Dr. Karen Hughels group had me taking Dextroamp-Amphet for (Adult ADHD) and (Ambien (Zolpidem) for sleep (Two Controlled substances). I was told I need to pick only one after being prescribed both at the same time. I understood and agreed to speak to Dr. Karen Hughels on video conference on Sep. 31 2021 at 2:00pm to find a solution for sleep aid medication. Dr. Karen Hughels Aggression, Arrogance, Total Lack of Empathy and Staggering Incompetents was Clear when I could not complete a sentence without her immediately interrupting. I agreed that taking two controlled substances was a bad idea and I just wanted something that would help me sleep. After being told (and I quote ) (if I really do have ADHD???) that I need to take an assessment in person for ADHD (after being prescribed ADHD medication by her staff and completing 2 assessments and diagnosis for Adult ADHD) and a sleep Assessment (after the VA Hospital Had me taking Trazodone for over a Decade). I went to CVS this evening after work to pick up my prescription for the sleep aid that Dr. Karen Hughels sent and the pharmacists informed me that it was simply blood pressure medication and had no sleep aid whatsoever. My interaction with Dr. Karen Hughels was truly Disturbing. The Fact that Dr. Karen Hughels Gross Negligence or Staggering Incompetents exists in the Field of Mental Health is Unacceptable! read more

Now I've been terminated for no reason at all but missing an appointment due to my last minute work schedule. Leaving me with no doctor and no meds and having withdrawal. I'm still in shock about how poorly I've been treated by the staff at the Pearland facility recently. I've been going to this clinic for over a year, and the last two visits have been completely degrading. Last month, they called me the day before my appointment (that I took off of work for) and said all doctors were out for an "emergency". In my most recent visit, the NP spent all but 5 minutes to tell me the system was down and would send my rx once it was running... didn't even acknowledge that I was trying to get help dealing with an extremely stressful transition. Rushed me out and failed to communicate why they are (I'm assuming) discontinuing treatment. As a nursing student, I'm appalled by the way this facility negatively represents healthcare at large and exacerbates the stigma associated with mental health. The patients seeking help from this clinic already suffer from underlying mental health and behavioral disorders, so it blows my mind that they would hang up on a patient multiple times who is just trying to understand and get answers. They profile patients and use caller ID to avoid calls. I have never given the staff any trouble, and this is unacceptable and unprofessional. I think I at least deserve a simple answer or explanation, and I'm upset with myself for entrusting this toxic place. read more

I wasted a year and a half on meds that didn't make me feel any better and most times added on extra symptoms that the physiatrist claimed is fine. It wasn't fine. I felt like a failure and like something was wrong with me for trying all these pills that didn't work. I told her of a pill I use to take prescribed by another physiatrist and she wouldn't prescribe them because they could be "addicting". I kept with her suggestions and the pills only knocked me out to the point I could barely open my eyes majority of the day/night. Her solution was to put me to sleep. Working a full time job and going to school this only made me feel worse as my life was just wasting away. I have severe depression, anxiety and PTSD. I have tried to commit suicide in the past. I have been hospitalized more times then I can count. The physiatrist there, Mrs. Sheyla Randle, should have her license revoked! People like her are why depressed people like me give up. I didn't though. I went to another physiatrist. Showed all the pills prescribed to me by Mrs Randle. He prescribed the pill I've been on for about a month now, he listened to me! I take one pill instead of 4 like Sheyla prescribed! I still have energy to live my life, not feel like I'm in a coma all day! Do not waste your time or money at this place! They don't care for you to get better. They only care about the money they get! They are awful on booking appointments as well but that isn't a big deal compared to the fact that they don't care about your life! read more

In one word, unreliable. I've had my appointment cancelled 4x in a row due to Dr.Tan being out of the office. As I was on my way to the doctor this morning I had a tire blow out. I was informed of the $30 cancellation fee, which is fine typically. Considering they have my cancelled my appointment multiple times in a row, for me to cancel on my way to the doctor due to literally being unable to get there and them wanting to charge me is ridiculous. Literally the worst office staff I've ever had to deal with. The receptionists lie and say they will find out about the issue you are calling for and never call back. Then I find out later the person they said they were going to talk to weren't even in the office the whole day. The staff and the doctors at this place are running a SCAM!! Beware! Don't go here! Since my insurance changed for 2018, the doctor I was seeing last year was out-of-network with new insurance. So I looked up a new psychiatrist and made an appointment with them and the earliest appointment they had was a month later. I made sure they were in-network with my insurance and I would just have to pay the co-pay office visit. As a new patient, I had to be there 15 minutes before my scheduled time to fill out the paperwork. I got there 30 minutes early. Gave them my insurance card and they gave me the paperwork to fill out. When I handed over the paperwork to them, the receptionist tells me, as per my insurance, I would have to pay them $200 for the visit. I said have to pay just the copay of $20 to see the specialist and nothing more. They wouldn't agree. I call up my insurance and my insurance tells me since this is a behavioral office the copay is actually $0. I don't have to pay them anything. So I asked the insurance agent to speak with them and explain it to them that I am not suppose to pay anything. So these people speak with the insurance and then handed me back to phone. The insurance agent explained to me that instead of charging me for a office visit these doctor wants to charge me as a service and that's why I would have to pay $200. This was ridiculous. She said the manager told her they don't have a code to run to charge me as a office visit! I asked the receptionist so what would it be for me to see the doctor today. She says she will find out from the manager. So I sat and waited in the office. I waited for about half and hour and she still didn't get back to me. So I go to the window to ask her what did they decide. She tells me to reschedule an appointment as I missed the scheduled appointment! How ridiculous does this sound! I waited a month to see them. Just beware! Dr. Salah Qureshi and Dr. Fasiha Haq are nothing but running a scam at this place. I forgot the name of the third doctor there. read more

My doctor's at Texas Behavioral Health, have spent many years studying their field they are both very highly educated ! They messed up and didn't give me a refill on my prozac before next appointment. Been trying to get permission for a refill for over 48 hours now. Called office myself and had walgreens do it. I would give them zero stars but I cannot. Lets start with the fact that the office is always so hot that everyone waiting is pouring sweat and miserable, even in the winter. Then, you go back to meet with the PA because apparently the real doctors don't have time for you. Without spending a sufficient time with you, they put you on meds without providing any definition of your diagnosis. THEN, they call you twice to confirm your appt, which in my opinion, if I made the appt, that IS the confirmation. So, you take the day off of work and your child misses a whole day of school because the psychiatrist only works until noon, just to drive an hour one way to be told that they cancelled your appt since you didnt call back to confirm. SAD! I've been with Dr. Qureshi since 2014. He is a phenomenal doctor when seeing patients. (Rarely these days) He is amazing with geriatric patients!! Texas Behavioral Health practice has the potential to be an amazing organization, helping so many with mental health issues. I developed a strong relationship with several wonderful providers, only for them to leave within a few months. It has begun to feel as if patients have become a number and there's no time for personalized care. The pressure the providers are under to see patients is palpable. You can literally feel the stress/drama as you walk into the waiting room! I have personally witnessed 6 of their qualified staff leave since July of 2017. It's sad to watch! The treatment patients sometimes receive on the phone is very rude and frustrating. Also, it's not unusual to encounter patients who are visibly upset in the waiting room. As others have noted, office staff can be rude, and often don't have the knowledge or time to answer basic questions. Please TBH, invest time and care in your staff and providers. It will have a positive impact on your patients too! I would love to see this practice turnaround! TBH has been a lifesaver for me in the past. I truly hope changes are made. It can be a wonderful resource for so many who truly need their help! read more
