Should be called Texas Worst Heating & Air. Stay far far away from these guys. My home warrantee called them to fix my AC unit. I had been away for 6 months and had my system shut off completely. When I came back my AC did not work. They told my warrantee company that it was a dirty air filter and the system being on for 6 months that caused the problem. Not only do I have 5 1/2 months of utilities bill under 40 dollars a month to cover my freezer, ring cameras, well pump and my modem and router. AHS gave me a new company for a second opinion, called ACL heating and cooling, and the lady on the phone says the refuse to go to homes that Texas Best had went to previously because Texas Best will write up a a diag to its not covered under my warrantee because they don't make enough money to be "worth their while", and try to get custumers to install new systems instead of having the old system repaired. I am unsure if this company knows what they are doing because I can prove their diagnosis wrong. read more

Crooks .. absolute horrible service & support .. replaced a coil last summer that was shoddily installed, hatchet job & paid out of pocket $2,800 ... when same issue occurred this year I called again w/ Texas Best being assigned only to have them no show, then rescheduled for next day & missed the window allotted so I canceled. Had 2nd opinion from legitimate A/C company to find out they wouldn't take on the job because of the "liability " related to Installation that would not pass inspection plus serial numbers were erased from the replacement coils that are now not warrantable & would not pass inspection if I sold my rental !! Do not use this man/company. Look at his Better Business Bureau grade F. many report experiences similar to mine. He was sent by AHS warranty company. Looked at our unit for maybe 5 min. Told me there was a freon leak, said he would submit to the warranty company and come back and do the repair tomorrow. He didn't give me a quote or an estimate. Didn't hear from him for 2 days. Texted & said I was checking in, he says he's waiting on weather ( cloudy & in the 50s but ok) then the next morning I get a text saying, I sent you a invoice, if you pay asap, l'll come today. The tone was an ultimatum, l open my email and have a big laugh, this man thought I was born yesterday. 1,200 dollars upfront for work that hasn't been done & billed from his personal square and not the warranty company. * I've used the warrenty company many times & never had someone attempt to have me pay them under the table. He attempted to over charge me by 2 to 3 times average amount for the freon lied about the amount needed .Then when questioned about the amount and what happened with the warranty company he tacked on 700 dollars to the must do list and tried to tell me he "had too" Multiple 250 dollar items... for example, 250 dollars to replace 2 caps, which are available on Amazon, 22 caps for $14.99. I had a 8-9am appointment. Dwayne came and spent about 20 minutes and left saying it should work. I asked why he would leave without making sure i have heat. He said he had other jobs to go to but he'd come back... When I pressed for a time he said sometime before 5p. I called who he said was supervisor thinking i'd get someone that would show some concern. He said he said he was coming hours ago....Definitely not good business. When Dwayne finally came back here tells my like it's my fault that the setting was changed. If he had taken a moment to do his job when he got here this morning, being the expert he probably could have made this a great experience rather than a horrible one. It would have been a quick fix. Texas Best saved us from an AC nightmare - I cannot recommend them enough. We are using American home shield and if you've ever dealt with them, you know how terrible it can be. The first company we were assigned to was awful, but as soon as we were switched to Texas Best I was SO RELIEVED. They called me right away and were able to come out immediately. He was super courteous, explained everything, and was able to not only fix our AC but check it over thoroughly and answer any questions we had. Having a working AC unit in Texas is absolutely critical and I am SO thankful for this company. It's so important to have an AC company you can trust and rely on and I will absolutely use these guys again in the future. read more

This company was contracted by my home warranty contract to diagnose and repair my HVAC problem. They responded the same day that I submitted the request and diagnosed that it was my multi-zone damper controller and it needed replacement. They would need to order the part and get it fixed. This was on 1/12/2023 and almost a month later it still isn't fixed. I've called the business at least four times over the last month and spoke with Travis (owner) to get a status on the repair. He claimed that he would check on the status and get back with me. He has never called me back. I finally contacted the warranty company twice about his issue and they've spoken to him both times and he told them that he would contact me to set up and appointment to install the part. Now it is 2/8/2023 and I still haven't heard from them. The only reason why I gave them one star was due to their quick initial service call. I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone. The owner totally ignores you and never follows through with what he tells you. I've also filed a complaint with my home warranty company about there vetting of this company to perform work for them. We were given an upgrade offer to replace our AC units. After installation, the unit was making loud noise. It has been almost 4 months of calling almost daily to get AHS to contact the Texas Best forcing them to come out at the last time, they said it's not right, but we don't know what to do. AHS refused to send out a different contractor to evaluate the problem. They don't cover noise and don't stand behind poor performance by their contractor. Don't ever do an AC upgrade through them. Poor vendor choice by them and not taking care of us as a customer. When we renew, it won't be through. Texas Best heating and Air is the contractor Who seldom showed up or returned calls. read more

American home shield sent Texas best heating and air and let me tell they are not the best. Not even close. Reason we called was because out ac unit was not shutting off. Typically if we would set or thermostat to 75 degrees it would reach 75 degrees at shut off. That was not happening. The technician from Texas best heating and air literally sprayed the outside of our AC unit outside with a water hose. After that, our air conditioner was very loud. His excuse was it was just too hot outside for it to shut off. And he didn't know why the air conditioner was loud. But he did admit it was a lot louder than it was before he sprayed it. He didnt fix anything. We called the owner Travis of Texas best heating and air. He told us he would come in a few days. He never did come. Next American home shield said they would send Travis the owner to come. Travis failed come out 3 times in a row ! Texas best heating and air never reported to american home shield.... It is now a month later, and american home shield chose to send us a new vendor who are called Veteran heating & air conditioning. They actually took time to look at the air conditioner unit in the inside They cleaned this panel that had a lot of dust and grime. Also, they went outside, and they used a special rod to clean the AC unit from the inside out. It pushed the dirt, sand and debri from the inside out. Which is what Texas heating and air should have done. Not just used our hose to spray it. Veteran air conditioning took about 30minutes to see if their was a chamge anx there was,which was much cooler and tempature dropping. Bottom line, don't waste your time on Texa best heating and air owned by Travis. Do yourself a favor and call Veteran heating & air conditioning . They are the good guys and actually care about their customers !!!! read more

Our American Home Shield (AHS) assigned us this contractor after we were without A/C for 3 days (temps in the high 90's). The company scheduled a service call the next day. Landon called to confirm the time, but then stated he couldn't come because he needed a ladder. The next day, Matt was assigned to come out between 9-3. I received a text that he was enroute at 1:00 pm. This came and went. I called and texted Matt who stated "I'm enroute". Then, I called at 4:00 pm because he still hadn't shown up and he said, "I'm on my way, I'm a few streets over". Then, he never showed. After this, he never answered my phone calls or text. I complained to AHS who said the owner Travis would "call me right away to resolve". But, I never received a call. At this point, I've asked for AHS to reassign me to a reliable, honest contractor. read more

I called and spoke with Travis on Thursday morning 5-4-23 and told him my AC was freezing up. He suggested a few things and told me if it continued to freeze up call him and he would stop by our place on his way home. I call him back because it froze up again and he said to turn it off and he would try and get by that evening or first thing Friday morning, He asked me to text him the address and I did. By 7 pm we didn't hear anything from him so I texted his cell and asked if we could turn unit back on since house was getting warm since we figured he wasn't going to make it by. I show he read the text but he never responded. I still thought maybe he would show up first thing Friday 5-5-23 and take a look or at least text or call and let me know he couldn't make it. That never happened. Luckily I got on FB and asked for recommendations and had another AC company come out and figure out what was wrong. Very disappointing to take a day off work to deal with something and wait for someone to show up and they never do and don't have the courtesy to let you know they aren't going to make it. I understand things happen but the lack of communication after all that will make me steer clear. read more

Home Warranty company assigned them to us, that was the first mistake. Travis came out and diagnosed our A/C a-coil being bad. He also said we were missing 2 caps but not to worry, he collected them and had a bucketful at his home and would just bring 2 over and put them on free of charge (never heard or saw him after making that statement). Again we have a warranty on our home but Texas Best said we would have to pay them $795. WHAT??????? Why am I paying for a home warranty then? Texas Best said they were going to contact the warranty company to see if the a-coil was still under warranty, well it was but they still wanted $795 from us. We ended up calling our warranty company back and paying another $75 to close out dispatch ticket with Texas Best and open a new one with another company who came out and fixed it and we had an out of pocket cost of $175. Bottom line, if your warranty company assigns you Texas Best, pump the brakes and ask for someone else. I think Texas Best was going to double dip. (my opinion). Because we are elderly and living on a fixed income Texas Best was taking advantage of that (Again my opinion) but we were smart enough to cancel them completely and get another company. By far the worst service I have had using AHS. Being without air for 2 and a half weeks because outside unit went down, there was no concern to get us on schedule for another 4 days. When "technician" Travis finally showed up late for the scheduled window of time on Friday, he showed up with his 4 wheeler on trailer ready for the weekend obviously. Told me "oh this won't take long!" and It sure didn't. Told me it would just take our smoldering house a while to cool off and of course it never did. Shortly after that, the wife and I noticed the ceiling starting to leak in several places. Tried calling the company to come back out because of the non-repair and now the damage that was occurring. Of course no answer, travis now out four wheeling for Father's Day weekend while I am spending it in the heat with a leaking ceiling. They also would not answer emergency calls from AHS. I had already asked AHS to assign someone else because all signs of poor service were there but unfortunately they had already sent the part to them. When finally able to get them back out he made repairs and told me "I was rushing and accidentally pinched a line that caused the issue of not cooling and backing up the line causing the ceiling unit (which was never the issue) to freeze up causing the leaks and damage to my ceiling. He apologized and began to take pictures of all of the damage to the ceiling. I asked him who would be responsible for the damage and he said that he would have to cover the repairs. Did not hear from them after he said he needed to report to AHS. When I called the office of course you know he speaks through the secretary to say that he is not responsible for the damage that occurred. When recommended, demand someone else.
