Chili cheese dog!!!
Diana K.

Can't go wrong with Texas Chili. I grew up eating at Hubba's which I believe to be the original restaurant, or at least the inspiration for Texas Chili. The food is downright good. No question about it. Should you eat it on a regular basis...prob not, but definitely ok to please the greasy craving you light have or late night eats after a night of drinking. The chili is really what makes everything taste so good. You can literally put it on anything and everything. The recipe does taste slightly different than what I remember, but still amazing. Be careful...it does have kick to it. Nothing out of control but will get ya if you're not expecting the spice or don't have a tolerance for heat. I don't live in PC anymore, but always make it a point to stop in and grab some chili for the road. The restaurant itself is clean and has a lot more space than Hubba's did. Only issue is parking can be a bit tricky, but not impossible. Glad to see this Port Chester staple is still around!

You ever find a place that just always hits the spot whenever you go? You don't eat it all the time but when you're in the area you treat yourself. That's what this place is for me. Decor: nothing fancy. Small, clean spot with some countertop seating and table seating. Might be 4-5 tables each with 4 chairs. You won't be shoulder to shoulder with someone else but you might not want to host an event there. And there's almost always a soccer game playing. Service: about what you would expect from a spot like this. A man or woman behind the counter, all smiles, has a little bit of an accent. Food coming out like quickfire. Food: I'm gonna be honest...this food isn't the most health conscious. It's spicy. It's greasy. Some of it is fried. With all that said...I DONT CARE! I wouldn't advise nose diving into their menu. Take it slow. The Chilli is spicy so you might want to get it on the side for the first time to test your limits. Otherwise, Chilli cheese dogs, chicken platter, cheeseburger wedge, and French fries are all legit! That's pretty much all I have to say. Until next time...

This is a place that should go down in history. The fare is listed photographically on the wall, but go right for the Texas Burger with a side of chili fries. This is the best burger in Westchester and at 2.50 you can order two and not break the bank. Great for pre or post show snacking at the Capital Theater. Cash only.

Prices are great. Even the owner recommends the chili. Will always stop here for breakfast when I'm in PC

The food comes out fast, it's cheap, and it tastes great. They're also open until 5AM. What more can you ask for?

Curly fries, chili, cheese and a cheese steak California (lettuce, tomato, mayo). Their breakfasts are pretty yummy too.

We had unsweetened iced teas, and the kids' seltzer came in a kid-sized cup. After ordering, we were served cornbread sticks, which were really good and a hit with my son. Elwood also brought crayons and paper for him, which was a thoughtful touch. We started with the gator nuggets and frickles. The gator nuggets were our favorite appetizer. The frickles were good, but the batter was fairly thick, which made the pickle flavor a little subtle. For my entrée, I had the fried chicken with collard greens and mac and cheese. The chicken was nicely crispy and came with four pieces, though it was a little overcooked for my taste. The collard greens were on the sweet side, and the mac and cheese could have used a bit more flavor. The highlight of our visit was the service. Elwood was friendly, attentive, and struck the perfect balance of checking in without being overbearing. Overall, the food was a bit mixed for us, but the excellent service, family-friendly touches, and pleasant outdoor seating made for an enjoyable experience. We'll be back to try some of the other menu items.

The soup was delicious and isn't on the regular menu but instead a special item. We tried the Cuban sandwich and the Steak sandwich both with the sweet potato fries. The sandwiches and fries were delicious. The star of the show was the beer battered pickles. OMG...so good. This place is found in a cute little neighborhood. The bar looked like it was full of regulars. The staff were very friendly. This hidden gem is a must try!

We went heavy on appetizers; shishito peppers (not for the faint of heart), Pastrami egg rolls (everyone's fave), Crispy artichokes and Hummus (awesome pita! Mom's favorite). The Shrimp & Lobster Mac and cheese was a standout. Loved by all. Chicken Shawarma was fine. Pot of Mussels was very good (not the "moules" you'd find in Brussels, but they stand on their own merits.) Lovely evening.

Ordered: Crispy artichokes ($15)- these were fried and tasty with a creamy yogurt sauce. Nothing crazy or exotic flavor wise, but enjoyable. Polenta bites ($12)- I really enjoyed these! They were a little salty, a little smoky (bacon) and a little sweet (honey). I will say that I strongly recommend Village Social either update their menu or change the toppings, as these polenta bites were topped with crispy bacon but the menu did not indicate this. Vegetarians in our group didn't realize this dish wasn't vegetarian. Chicken Milanese ($28)- the portion was very generous! It came with a large chicken breast and I requested to change the salad on top to Caesar. I appreciated their willingness to modify the order. All in all, I'd recommend checking out Village Social the next time you're looking for a dinner spot in the area.

We arrived and didn't know we could sit anywhere, I guess they noticed and with a friendly attitude let us know. The patrons, specially at the bar, were having a great time. Grateful for the fantastic weather we're able to sit outside and we had a great time as well. The server was a doll, taking care of the inside and outside. The food was delicious, we all agreed that the chicken quesadilla was one of the best we've ever had. My friends had a burger and fish and chips, we shared a home made brownie à la mode. I recommend Kelly's hand down. Cheers

Its been around since the mid 70's. Not too long ago I ran a half marathon up in Rye along with a friend of mine running in her 100th half. She had a post race celebration party here which was catered and on their back patio. Nicely done, the food was tasty and the beer nice and cold. It's a true locals spot that those in the neighborhood patronize as while there I saw a bunch of them getting their day drinking on during early afternoon. It's an old school working mans bar with a bit of a worn look but in a good way.
