Service was painfully slow (I waited 35 minutes for a simple burger) and when it finally arrived, it wasn't even what I ordered. I specifically ordered the barbecue burger with onions, cheddar, BBQ sauce, and bacon. What I got was an overcooked burger with American cheese and a single piece of bacon on a dry deli bun. Not even close to what was advertised or requested. Between the uncomfortable atmosphere, the long wait, and the incorrect food, this place completely missed the mark. The food here is actually really good. This was my second time going and I'll definitely go back again for the food. The way staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful with other aspects too as they really get to talk to you when they get to know you. The overall fuel of the restaurant is cozy lighting is a bit dark, but it's not bad. The only negative thing I have to say about the restaurant is the ladies room is incredibly small. The door is literally right in front of your face as you're using the restroom and it's very hard to maneuver the sink to the toilet. If you have to use the restroom and you're a lady, I would recommend either holding it and going someplace else or venturing in and trying the very tiny restroom area. read more

Stopped by for a Thursday lunch we found The Cobble Stone to be cozy and comfortable. The Spinach Mozzarella Quiche & Salad (with cantaloupe) really hit the spot. Plenty of spinach in this dish. We found the Cobble Stone since we were traveling thru the area and it is one of the best restaurants that I have been to in a very long time. There is so much thought put into the menu and the food doesn't disappoint. Every part of it was delicious. Even the kids ate everything on their plates and some from ours. The staff was A+ as well. You could tell there were a bunch of regular patrons in the resturant which clearly is a good sign. Also the vibe is hometown which I love. Friday night 7:30, had a good amount of tables but wasn't that busy. I Had a table of 4. It took thirty five (35) minutes to get our drink orders in (even though the waitress saw us as soon as we sat and told us she'd be with us in a moment). 2 tables that sat after us had their food before we had our drinks. When drinks finally came (after we flagged down a bus boy to check on it, because our waitress was talking to a table), my Guinness was completely flat and borderline warm. When she took our order, 2 garden salads and a soup took an extra 20 minutes. Entrees came out with wrong sides (table behind us had the same problem), and our 2 orders of fish & chips were bland and fell apart. Ordered a 2nd round of beers (2 oktober fest this time) and my dad received a miller lite and I an IPA. No point in asking for new ones cause that would've taken another 20 minutes. Saw the waitress 2 times the entire night. Then when the bill came out it was 200 bucks for 4 people, in a place that smelt like mold when you walked in. Will never be coming back. Before the other night, I had not been to Cobble Stone in years - probably not since 2014 when Baby Yelper Jason wrote his initial review. I don't work too far from here, so when my parents called me at work asking if I wanted to join them for dinner, I jumped at the opportunity to rediscover this place. I used to frequent Cobble Stone back in the day when my brother was a student at SUNY Purchase - from what I can gather it's a hangout for the college crowd but also a spot for locals. The aesthetic is old school pub - it's really no frills with a mostly wooden interior and a casual aesthetic. The staff here usually perform all tasks - waiting, bussing, and hosting. After we were seated, we were given physical menus but I noticed QR codes on the tables as well. There were also instructions on how to connect to the in-house wifi which I was pleasantly surprised to see. I remember one of my gripes with Cobble Stone was that cell service was non-existent, but I assume they needed to install wifi so that patrons can connect and view the online menu. Speaking of the menu, they have a wide selection - classic dishes, sandwiches, salads, and apps were all present. Solid offerings - nothing too out of the ordinary but enough to make it interesting. I started with the French Onion which was tasty - big onion flavor and just the right amount of cheese on top. I was feeling a wrap, so I went with the shrimp poboy. It was quite good - lots of shrimp with lettuce, cabbage, aioli, and bacon that provided good contrast. The fries it came with were nothing outstanding but good nonetheless. Overall, I enjoyed my rediscovery of Cobble Stone. The upgraded technology, combined with the solid food offerings and causal interior makes it an ideal go-to spot in Purchase. read more

Now for MY review- the establishment has been around since 1933 according to their sign. It is so clean, warm and cozy with their cobblestone walls behind the bar. Restaurant was hopping. It was 1:15 pm. The small bar had a handful of locals calling each other by name. All were eating, which tells ya the food is great if the locals eat there. Bartender was quick, attentive and friendly. I ordered the Dorchester sandwich. I would definitely order it again !! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because it was a little pricey. In reality they have the location for it as there isn't too much competition in the immediate vicinity. All in all it's a great place that I would like to frequent as well as always hitting up on my way to and from Westchester Airport. So, the one thing they really have going for them is location. There isn't much in the way of anything, let alone places to eat in the area. Parking is plentiful, go behind the restaurant if the main area is filled. Also, easy access in and out. The look and feel is very much what I would expect for a place with the name Cobble Stone. Staff is awesome!! Very attentive, keep drinks full and answer menu questions. Food, this is where things aren't quite as good as I would have liked. The southern egg rolls sounded amazing, but were just ok at best. Dipping in the custom sauce they are served with makes them slightly better. The burger was ok. Same as the egg rolls, the menu made it sound amazing. It was exceptionally large, but was just really lacking considering all the spices and extras served with it. Been here twice. Bad service. Will not come back again. First time, just for drinks. There were 5 of us at the bar, and after we finished our first round we sat with empty glasses for 5-10 minutes as the bartender sat on his phone. The second time, came in with a group of 6 where the same man from the first time was our server. He was not attentive towards our table at all. Rarely came around to our table and forgot parts of our orders. It is disappointing because the place had a great atmosphere but the staff (might just be this specific server) makes it feel like they do not care you're there. We stopped in here on our way to the airport and the food was great. Especially, the French Onion soup and the Reuben sandwich. If you get a salad, definitely order the Dijon vinaigrette. This experience is 4 yrs old, but here it is..The other day I was there with my family before 6pm and the service was terrible. One hostess was extremely rude not to us but other customers. Very loud and nasty, made a rude comment saying Christmas is coming referring to a older costumers drinks. My food was not even hot, on the cool side. Update alert! New chef at Cobble Stone has added BBQ and ribs to the menu with several other small upgrades, including organic burger option (and stuffed burger!). It looks like some of the attention that has been so carefully bestowed on the Creek will now be trained on the Cobble Stone. Still among the best draft beers around and the place to go for a real bar and grill, but I have tried some of the upscale menu items lately, and I am impressed with the freshness and variety. Fantastic meal! We had the nachos with southwest chicken - very delicious and filling! I wish that the cheese would have been sprinkled by layers instead of all on top. Not the worst thing, but strategically would mean a great deal when eating. I had the shrimp po boy wrap - amazing! Great flavor combination of shrimp, avocado and Sriracha. Good service and I loved that lottery sales were available at the bar! The only reason for one less star was because of seating. Our table was located pretty much within a doorway... which staff and patrons actively walked through. It would make sense for the establishment to relocate this seating because it really was not welcoming or comfortable to sit at due to the level of foot traffic going through there (waiters, bar patrons, and folks going to the bathroom).
