Not all bad, but not all good. We started off with the chicken dumpling soup. Not very hot and not much flavor. I would not recommend. The texas chicken wings are boneless and fine. The chilli is also fine and has a little heat and kick to it. The beef tips are ok, but a little on the dry side.The steak sandwich is not too bad. We had sweet tea that I enjoyed. My first time eating at Texas Corral. The interior feels like a true western corral. You can view them making the sweet bread in the front of the store and there are barrels of peanuts-you can drop the shells on the ground. I ordered a sirloin steak with sweet potatoes and soup. Idk if its the management that is making the servers hate their lives but why on earth would you wait 2 hours to start an online order. And then why would you made zero attempts at any apology. I called on the phone and sat on hold for 35 minutes and never even spoke to a person. When i went in person to ask if my order was ready(politely) the FOH Mary told me there were no orders. The entire restaurant was empty by the way. Then she looked at the tablet behind her and said OH! Just come back in 30 minutes. .... After i had waited 2 hours.......... I ordered the lunch menu Chicken Fingers and my husband ordered the Southern Fried Catfish meal. The chicken fingers were horrid and had a disgusting texture in my mouth. I wanted to gag. I asked the waitress if these were ready made out of a bag kind from the freezer? She admitted they were. I told her they are just pressed fatty chicken pieces and it tasted gelatinous (gummy) and mushy and that I was terribly disappointed they didn't use real chicken. I told her the waffle fries were over fried, greasy and had probably 3xs the amount of salt needed, plus some weird mystery item. The waitress asked if I wanted a new order. Umm, yes. It was done much better. The waitress was okay, but not overly apologetic or enthusiastic that she had to do more work. My husband's fish was the only redeeming quality about the whole experience, since it was decent, as well as the guy(s) who brought out our food. They were great with he right attitude. We visited Indiana Dunes and stopped for dinner. Very charming restaurant. Very clean and decorated according to its name. The staff was very courteous and punctual. Our waiter was very personable and checked on us frequently. It wasn't very busy when we arrived. Customers started to arrive (think they heard we there, lol). I had the Southwest Salad and I certainly enjoyed. The soup was chicken dumpling and was very good. My husband ordered the T-bone and Brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were deep fried which we'd never seen before. He enjoyed them and steak was good but too well done for medium rare. Granddaughter ordered ribeye and baked potato. The potato was huge so that was snack before bed. The rib eye was perfectly cooked but on the down side, it had so much gristle not much was edible. I have never had a ribeye steak with so much gristle. So I would not recommend the ribeye. It was not a quality piece of meat. You read the restaurant name and assume great steaks. We decided to go here for dinner after reading some reviews that said this place was just like Texas Roadhouse. However, I was extremely disappointed. It's kind of like the dollar store version of TRH. We only waited for about 15 minutes for a table. The girl who was seating people was stomping and throwing a fit every time another group needed to be seated. She kept throwing her head down onto the counter when the other girl told her there was another group ready. Our waitress had clearly been in the industry for a long time because she was very seasoned and confident. I think her name was Jojo(?). She did kind of seem to run away before we could get our full sentence out but it was fine. She was very nice and I think she had quite a few tables. The low rating is mostly for the food. We ordered the Texas Flower, which was good, if not a little bland. We both got sirloins (medium) and steak fries. The steaks were awful. Both of them were rare and a really tough and stringy texture. Neither of us finished them. The manager did take one off of our bill which was very nice. Several tables nearby had the fajitas, which smelled amazing. So if I were to ever go back, I'd try those. But I'd recommend skipping the sirloin. read more

Returned after nearly six months, following an unhappy experience on Veterans Day. I can hardly describe how awful our server was. Completely clueless, unprofessional, and inappropriate. The remarks he made were, frankly, shocking. Meanwhile his mother was at a booth dining, holding court, acting as though she owned the place with her two sons hanging all over like toddlers. It was bizarre. The girl who brought our drinks and the food runners were fine, and the food was fine, as good as you'd expect. Not fine dining, but certainly good for the price point. I didn't bother to speak with the manager on duty, as our server had informed us he is his father. Talk about family circus! I did, however, place a call to corporate this morning. Been to this particular location twice now in about 5 weeks due to work trip. First time everything was perfect (minus the chip out of my beer glass). The next time the food was not so great. I order the same thing Texas Strip. I asked for it medium cooked and it came out more medium rare (not a huge deal) but then it was also charred on the outside. It can be a hit or miss sometimes. Most experiences have been good and very enjoyable but obviously sometimes it's not the same. I mean this can go for any place to be honest. There's no issues with staff because they work very well even if they are understaffed but sometimes they change foods whether it be permanently or just like a one time thing. You'd almost swear they're the same company and just a regional name difference. When you're seated, the hostess walks you to your table with the warm rolls and cinnamon butter. Google told us there would be a 45 minute - 1 hour wait. Upon entering, our party of 2 only had to wait about 5 minutes. Nice! Our server did the bare minimum but nothing above and beyond. I had the bourbon glaze salmon and the boyfriend had a steak. We both enjoyed our food. I wasn't the biggest fan of having a glob of both sour cream AND butter in my mashed potatoes...a little too much for my liking. One or the other would have been fine. The waitress was friendly and helped me find a salad with no meat or egg on it. The bagged peanuts are nice but a container to put the empty shells would of been nice. My friend had the chicken and dumplings soup but he said it wasn't anything to ride home about. My friend said it was very bland so he put salt and pepper on it to see if it would help some what. Wow getting the food is extremely slow. Man all I had was a salad with no meat. My friend was waiting on the fried chicken. My friend had the fried chicken with gravy. He said the chicken was huge. It came with mashed potatoes on the bottom then two very large pieces of fried chicken with no bones and a lot of white gravy. My friend said it was delicious. I don't eat meat so I didn't sample it. I had a salad. It was suppose to be mixed greens but it was mostly iceberg lettuce with a lot of Avocado (which was a plus), small amount of red cabbage, shredded cheese, diced carrots, I asked for tomatoes but don't see any. The blue cheese dressing wasn't great. I've tasted a lot better. There really isn't a lot for me when I eat out. The country fried chicken was HUGE "Texas size" and delicious too. The house white gravy was amazing. We have been to Texas Road House, Texas Outlaw and now Texas Corral. Was disappointed that they do not carry any brisket. So we had to just go with the country fried chicken. read more

Right from the moment we walked it the service was great. We were seated right away and the drinks arrived promptly. We had the onion flower for an appatiser, it was so good. Pulled pork sandwich was delicious but the bun could have been better than a hamburger bun. The quesadillas were exceptional according to my wife. I was very early for another doctors appt up the road so I decided to give this TC a spin . It was slow and not crowded at 1pm on a Thursday, which I liked. I ordered the calamari app and the bacon cheddar burger n fries . The calamari was , hands down , probably the best I had in a while , the burger was really good too . Nicely cooked and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The bartender was delightful and took my lame banter with a smile , all I know is she likes cold 50 percent off club sandwiches that she doesn't get to eat , she also doesn't like when the other bartenders hide the blue curacao. There were enough dishes being broke back in the kitchen I thought they might be having a big Texan Greek wedding .
