This was quite literally the worst Brazilian steakhouse I've ever been to. We had a reservation for 7:45 PM on Valentine's Day. We got there and checked in right at 7:45 pm. We still had to wait 30 minutes. It was a Saturday night and Valentine's Day so it was busy and I get it. However, once we were sat, after nearly 2 hours, I only had about 6 pieces of meat. We didn't get offered half of the meat. Most of the meat we did get offered weren't even beef, mainly chicken, sausage, etc. Our cards were flipped to the green side the WHOLE time we were there, but servers were either skipping or just not even coming. Despite making eye contact. then, when we were offered certain meats, they would cut a slice for my s/o, but when it was my turn, the server would say "oh i have to get your cut from the back, I'll be right back" then never come back. This happened twice. By the 3rd time, i was clearly upset and that may have been the only reason the server actually came back that time. Our server also kept asking if we were just waiting on meat, in which we'd say yes just to still continue waiting. After THREE hours and still about 6 meats total, we requested the dessert menu - another 15 minutes just to get the menu to us. At this point, we ordered it and i asked to speak to the manager. I have never requested to speak to a manager at a restaurant before, that is how horrible this experience was. Again, had to wait for the manager to make his way to us. Once i explained to him my experience, his response in general was a very like "welp that sucks" attitude & didn't even seem really concerned. He offered to charge us as a "lite dinner" + drinks + dessert. Which I still dont even think is a fair resolution, because my dinner was their mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and 6 slices of meat. Even getting the check took time. God bless the host/hostess as they seem to be fighting for their life trying to get everyone seated. In the future, if there isn't availability, then they shouldnt be offering reservations they cannot honor. Will not be back and i definitely do not recommend the place. read more

My company and I came here for a reserved luncheon. We were also very tired from our sessions so we were excited to come. The food was decent. What stuck out with the lamb chops and the lamb shank . it was very tender. Our waitress and waiters were on point about who ordered what drink and what desserts. But for the employees that were going around with the meat was a kind of difficult. It was hard to get the lambs, but maybe they were just out of it so quickly because it was really good. Honestly, next time I would just get the lamb and the salad bar. Make sure to get small cuts of meat because there's been times when I asked for medium, but they will give me rare instead. So if they give you a cut you don't like, you can avoid food waste. I wish they gave us a list of what drinks that we could have. They had lemonade mixed with other fruits, but not Brazilian lemonade that was made with the rind. I don't think my coworkers knew there were an options besides basic soda and sparkling water. Mind you the lemonade mixture was pretty good. It's just sad they do not have the Brazilian lemonade with the rind. Maybe the tables were chaotic but the people next to me and myself weren't able to get our water cups refilled. The tables and chairs were even, stable, and steady . We had a lot of people so we had to have them all connected. There's free parking in the garage attached to the movie theater above the third floor . This is my go-to parking garage when I'm in this area. Compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, this place has some points to work on. There is potential. read more

My boyfriend and I visited Texas de Brazil to celebrate our anniversary. Parking was standard garage parking, and the ambiance inside was nice. He made a reservation through OpenTable and noted that it was our anniversary. When we arrived, the hostess acknowledged the occasion, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately that's where the good service ended. It took 15 minutes for our server to show up, and when he did, he apologized and took our drink orders. In my opinion, that's way too long. Especially since we were starving, just sitting there staring at the salad bar. The salad bar itself was nothing amazing, but it did the job. We had the Caesar salad and scalloped potatoes, both of which were great. When my drink finally came out, it was a huge disappointment. It was tiny (photo attached) and cost $14, which would be fine if it were strong, but it tasted like juice. I could barely detect any alcohol at all and I felt nothing afterwards. Then the meats started coming and it only got worse. The first cut was a sirloin, which was absolutely inedible. I asked for medium, but what I got was half fat, half tough tendon meat. I literally couldn't cut through it (photo attached). I kept getting different variations of sirloin through the night and every single one was tough and/or fatty, and impossible to eat. Then came the filet mignon which was GREY. It was chewable at least, so I ate it because I was starving. The Parmesan pork was next, and it was so dry it was sandy. The crust made it even worse. Surprisingly, the chicken and sausage that came together were actually juicy, flavorful, and easily the best meats of the night. The flank steak was okay but very tough, but at least edible. The beef rib had good flavor and was tender and moist but it was soooo salty it almost wasn't worth it. We had been to Texas de Brazil before for a birthday and I remembered they used to bring sides out automatically. 20 minutes into eating, I realized we still didn't have them. We flagged down our server and he admitted he forgot. He asked if we wanted any specific meats while we waited, and we requested beef rib. It took another 20 minutes to get the sides, and another 10 minutes after that for the beef rib to show up.. The cinnamon bananas were great. They were perfectly cooked, sweet, and syrupy. But the mashed potatoes were absolutely disgusting. They tasted like boxed potatoes made with faucet water. Both the taste and texture were appalling!! The worst I've had in my whole life. To top it all off, our server barely refilled our water the entire night. We got one refill right before we got the check. The service was really really slow and lazy. He was nice enough but when the restaurant is damn near empty you would think he could at least fill our waters on time. Between the long waits, the tough meats, the horrible mashed potatoes, and the weak drinks, this was absolutely not worth the high price tag. My last experience here wasn't the best and I hate to say that about places, especially when I raved about them before. We reserved for a large group of people, which they knew about in advance. Get a drink order for just water...maybe after 3 other people in the table point it out they'll get you a drink. People in our table would be randomly ignored for no reason or half the table at any given chance would be ignored as the servers would ask one person if they wanted the food they were serving and if they said no, they ran away faster than the Flash. If you said yes, they maybe sometimes asked the person next to you and took off. I was frustrated and just wanted food, but the service was so slow, that it felt like you wasted a lot of money for no reason and were still hungry. I went to buy a dessert, cause how can that go wrong? They took so long getting it all out, that we were the last people to leave the restaurant cause of their service. Everything took long, the food the check, everything. Look, it's 2024, inflation is killing us. If I'm going to spend money I want to feel like I am not wasting it. I felt I wasted it here. Even the dessert was meh. It's definitely not a place to take a group, even with a reservation in advance. While the service, ambiance, and salad bar were impressive--perhaps even better than Chama Gaucha--the quality of the meat left much to be desired, especially given the price point. The picanha, a staple of Brazilian steakhouses, was disappointingly dry. The sirloin was passable but far from memorable, and the filet mignon wrapped in bacon was underwhelming. The BBQ pork ribs, unfortunately, were unacceptable, lacking flavor and showcasing a noticeable compromise in quality. Overall, it felt as though lower-grade meats were served hot to mask their shortcomings. For a churrascaria, the meat is the centerpiece, and on this front, Texas de Brazil fell short. While the extras were excellent, they couldn't make up for the lackluster star of the show. I give Texas de Brazil three stars--solid in atmosphere and service, but the meat needs to live up to its billing. read more

We came here for Christmas dinner and loved it! We were able to book a same day reservation for an early 4:30pm dinner, and were seated within minutes of arriving at the restaurant. Man, this place has gone downhill considerably since I've last been here. I don't know what it is, but service and attentiveness from staff is completely just... off. I came here with a group of friends because we've had positive experiences in the past. This time, not so much. Our primary waiter was either completely inattentive, forgetful, or covering way too many tables. He'd disappear for long periods at a time, not bring out requested beverages, etc. The gauchos were similar. They completely ignored the little red and green cards which are such a staple of these restaurants. When they brought out a cut of meat, they'd offer it to 2-3 people at the table and promptly run off while ignoring the other 4-5 people seated, even if those people were waiting for those cuts of meat. I thought they just couldn't hear me, but it eventually became obvious that none of the gauchos spoke English, because they didn't seem capable of saying anything more than what cut of meat they were serving. When we asked for the cuts of meat we wanted, we were completely ignored. When the checks came, we found out that we were overcharged. The waiter took the checks back and took another 20 minutes or so to get it squared away. Again, not sure if it was intentional or not. Most of the meats were seasoned well and cooked well, but some were definitely overcooked For medium rare. Also, only about 1/2 of the meats came to our table, although if you have a good waiter, you can request the waiter to have the servers bring by the meats you want. The salad bar was a bit smaller than I expected. I wish there were more hot dish options. I also find it very strange that there is not a meat menu to show you what types of meats are going around. For my birthday this year, my friends and I found ourselves at Texas de Brazil. It was an easy choice as they were very easy to make reservations for such a large party. The restaurant is located in the ever so popular City Centre. Parking is a hassle but doable. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and chic. We noticed a very young and stylish crowd there as well. They waited to seat us until most of my party arrived. Upon seating, our waiter introduced himself to us. Poor guy was nice, but very timid and soft spoken. Most of my party did not hear the instructions before he just left our table. Customer service is definitely not their strong point here. As the gauchos brought meat around, they would serve half the table and then vanish. It was quite bizarre. The deal breaker for me was how little care they took when cutting meat tableside. I was looking quite dapper, but by the end of the night, I looked down at my light colored pants and realized that the gauchos dripped meat juices all over them. This ruined my mood as we still wanted to go out afterwards. I tried to spot clean it but it just made it worse. Hopefully management sees this and passes it along for them to be careful as everyone in the place was dressed nice and I am sure they did not want stains on their clothes either. That being said, I thought the food was quite good. They have alot to offer on their menu, but only brought certain cuts around. My friend had to specifically ask for many items which they would bring out once requested. I have been to many of the Brazilian steakhouses in town and we have never had to ask for so many items. Their beef dishes were very well seasoned and delicious. Whatever I did try, I liked alot. I wish they had more sauces to offer for the meats. The sides and hot dishes were solid. The salad bar was smaller than most, but it got the job done. They brought out a birthday cake to end the meal, but did charge for that which was also odd as most high end places comp that. I made reservations for my dad's birthday as a party of 8, but there was no birthday card or note indicating that it's his birthday which makes you feel like, why celebrate here if they don't care that you choose to celebrate here? We asked for a complimentary dessert for his birthday, but they said they would have to charge us for it. Our server mentioned they changed their policy and no longer comp birthday desserts. I find this ridiculous and told him that for a $600 tab, including a 20% tip, not comping a dessert is absurd. I decided to come here for dinner on a whim and was disappointed by my experience. Upon arriving, the host asked us if we had a reservation, which I did not. They asked for my name and number and entered it into the system which gave me a text that I was put on the waitlist but there was not a wait. The restaurant was barely 20% full and they sat us right away. So I just don't understand why they did that and the host's attitude was very unwelcoming. After we got to our table, we went to the salad bar which had a nice selection. I wish they had some bread or crostinis for the selection of cheeses and smoked salmon. I enjoyed the lobster bisque but wish it was hotter. I tried at least 70% of the meat options. My favorite was the ribeye which had a nice peppery crust. I requested medium rare and was given the rarest piece possible, which was unsettling but thankfully the gaucho cut me a more suitable slice. At one point, they came up to us with flank steak I believe which we both said yes to. I received a normal portion while my date got 3x the amount without requesting more which was a waste since he didn't want that much and it was very chewy and not tasty. Another issue is that the gauchos would still come up to us even when we had our cards on red. It felt like we were offered the same 2-3 meats repeatedly and not getting the full selection. Overall the food was okay but not outstanding. Half of the "hot" food was lukewarm at best. We also were sat next to a family with a screaming toddler throughout the whole dinner which kills the vibe. To me, this is not the type of restaurant to bring young children to. I will not be coming back. I rather spend my money on food I know I will enjoy. If you want to dine at this type of place, I'd recommend Fogo de Chao although I haven't been there in a while so I cannot attest to the dining experience. read more

Worst Brazilian steakhouse to go too. Service was hot ass garbage. Server would only fill up half the table water and then walk away. The meat runner would only ask half the table if we needed anything and catch an attitude by slamming the plate and skewer to try to get our attention even after we said we were good on certain meats. Can't tell if you the meats was good or not barely got anything before got tired of waiting. Asked 4-5 people to bring well done meat for a pregnant woman none came out for a good 35-40 mins. First glass of water good. Suggestions: hired more staff if your current staff can't handle the volume, cut server sections down so they can focus on service instead of trying to flip tables, turn up the brightness so they can visibly see the empty glass on the table read more

The food and ambiance were perfectly reasonable for a churrascaria. The waitress didn't come by our table a lot, it the machete men with meat were plentiful. I guess I'd rather have more steak and less cheese bread, so no harm done there that the latter was never replaced. I think I like the salad bar and meat better than Fogo. But I'm never coming back because the shopping mall had an open gate for a very inconvenient urine-soaked parking garage, absolutely no signs regarding paying for parking, and then had the gall to issue me a parking ticket. The salad bar is great, and there's plenty of options along with several options for different types of soup, and veggies. But as for the meat, it is extremely limited to just three different types of steak and two chicken. The Brazilian bread that everyone looks forward to eating, was rockhard when I asked the waitress to to get us fresh bread she brought back a new bunch and let us know that this was as warm as she could find, which, unfortunately, that was also cold, and hard as well. Our waitress was, nice, and checked on his continuously. The service that we received was good. It was also something that I was worried about as I saw other reviews didn't enjoy the service. That's not one of my complaints. Our service was great. The reason for the three stars is strictly because of the limited amount of meat, our cold, mashed potatoes, And our cold hard Brazilian bread. I don't think that this will be one of the Brazilian steakhouses that I returned to, I will agree with some of the other reviews that there are better Brazilian steakhouses to choose from. I did read in another review about whether the tip should be in cash or card. Our waitress did also ask us the same question and that is because if you pay the tip in cash, it goes strictly to the waitress or waiter, if you pay in card, they have to split it with the employees in the back, which I did think was odd for the waitress to mention to us. I've been to other Texas de Brazil locations but I would warn anyone about this Houston location because the manager, Robson, is unscrupulous and lacks integrity, SO unprofessional. We are still astounded by how he treated us. We chose to celebrate our February birthdays at Texas de Brazil instead of Fogo De Chao because my friend had just been there this week. One friend had gift cards and another friend had a $20 coupon, but we were told that we could not use them together. The manager explained that the system would not allow them to process a coupon and "white" gift card together, but that to make up for it, we could use one or the other and he would give us a complimentary dessert. We proceeded to enjoy our dinner and drinks, our server Yulieth was top notch! She was attentive, friendly, and professional. Excellent service! The food was also very good, especially the lobster bisque! The meet was delicious, a little more rare than expected, but still tasty. When she brought out our check at the end of the evening, my friend noted that the dessert was indeed comped, but we were charged for four dinners instead of three. Yulieth apologized and brought the ticket back to the manager to adjust. When she returned, she was dismayed to tell us that because we used the coupon instead of the gift cards the manager decided to charge us for the dessert! We were confused and asked her to call the manager to our table. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the way he handled the dessert and he tried to explain that it was because we didn't use the gift cards--which made no sense. We reminded him that he told us we could use either option and that he offered a the complimentary dessert, we didn't ask for it. He was insistent that we must pay for the dessert so we expressed our deep disappointment at his unprofessional treatment, paid our bill and left. On our way out it hit us that the extra dinner was probably not a mistake, we believe he was trying to overcharge us on purpose and his treatment left us feeling insulted and disgruntled. read more

The entry doors are very tall, the restroom doors are very tall, ceilings are very tall, the deep red paint gives it a feeling of intensity, the potted flower arrangements are very large, the beams have big bolts exposed to give character, and the wine cellar is floor to ceiling. The waitstaff who bring the meat to your table (not sure of their official title) wear themed attire with almost a medieval look. Everyone is very friendly and the service prompt. A basket of bread knots start your dining and they are pretty good, but I had an overwhelming conscious effort to not eat more than one piece so I could have more of the other items without getting full. You can start your experience with as many trips to the "salad" bar as you please. I've never seen a salad bar like this one. It was more of a Mediterranean charcuterie board bar with items like sliced deli meat, olives, cheese, cold shrimp, cold green beans, romaine lettuce for a salad and a few dressings such as Caesar and Ranch. On the buffet counter, they have lobster bisque and rice. I usually love salad bars. I wasn't over the moon for this one. When you are ready for the meat portion, the waitstaff will give you an empty plate and a card to place on the table indicating meat servers to come by with their proteins. The lamb was not as good as I expected, the sausage was delicious, the fajita was good and the filet minion was good. The waitstaff also bring a side of mashed potatoes and fried bananas to the table. It seems the meal was all over the place with items that don't typically pair together. I was full pretty fast, even though I didn't eat a whole lot. It's a slow process of getting the food to the table verses having an order with everything in front of you all at once, so your slow eating tends to fill you up faster. Again, not a big fan of the experience, but I am glad I know what it is like now. For what you get during the dining time period, I do not feel it is worth the money. read more

Despite the nice ambiance, our experience at this Brazilian all-you-can-eat steakhouse was disappointing. The service was terrible--we had just one round of meats, and the food runner never returned to our table. We ended up waiting around for 30 minutes, just staring at each other, before asking our server to bring more food. Even then, it took another 20 minutes for it to arrive. I've lost appetite. The total bill came to $336, which was not worth it at all given the poor service and food quality. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Anytime we crave steak Texas De Brazil is one of our go to spots. The location is best reached by a parking spot on the street if you can find one otherwise park in the garage for a short walk. You start your meal off with the salad and soup bar. You will find your traditional salad there along with surprisingly a charcuterie selection with olives. The lobster bisque and potato augratin soup are done very well. When you are ready to carnivorize flip your round card green and you will be blessed with all of the meats coming at you via a gaucho. They will carve for you and all you do is use your tong to grasp your catch. I find the Picahna and Bacon wrapped filets to be my favorites. They will also come around with leg of lamb, sausages, parmesan chicken and pork. We absolutely love this place as our only issue was with the service to begin with as in trying to figure out who our server is supposed to be. Once that was taken care of everything was great after that. They even gave my daughter a nice complimentary cinammon cheesecake for her birthday. Will always return! read more

All Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascarias, are characterized by the salad bar and meat. I can say that Texas de Brazil has a good offering, but absolutely subpar service. First, the meat reviews: Herb-Marinated Pork Loin - Never brought out Picanha (Top sirloin) - salty, tender, but the garlic version is more flavorful. My piece was a little dry, even with fat on it. 4/5 Brazilian Sausage - Skipped, didn't try it but it got a 4/5 from my table. Leg of Lamb - Never brought out Chicken Breast Wrapped in Bacon - Great for chicken. Not too dry, bacon was a good touch. 3.5/5 Lamb Chops - Arguably more grainy and with an interesting lemon kick that differentiates it from the Lamb Picanha. Also more gamey. 4/5 Filet Mignon Wrapped in Bacon - tender, just right with the offset of the salty bacon. 5/5 Parmesan-Crusted Pork Loin - Skipped Garlic Picanha - Tender, light garlic, light salt. 5/5 probably the best of the meats here. Spicy Picanha - Not spicy at all. Tender, bit bland. 4/5 Beef Ribs - Never brought out Barbecued Pork Ribs - Skipped Parmesan Drumettes - Never brought out Filet Mignon - Bad gradient of cooking, outside was medium rare, inside was very rare. Filet mignon bacon wrapped was better. 3/5 Flank Steak Bottom Sirloin - Salty, rich, fatty. Second piece was too dry. 3/5 Petite Filet - Never brought out Lamb Picanha - Tender, lamb earthiness, hope to get a fattier portion so that it's not dry. 4/5 Service was truly awful, 2/5. Most of the meats above were never brought to us and I had to specifically request a cut, and then wait 20+ minutes for someone to come around. Sometimes, they'd offer to my neighbor and not us! The buttons don't seem to mean anything. Furthermore, in one and a half hours, my water cup remained empty for over an hour. It took two different waiters to finally get one refill. Lastly, the bar messed up a cocktail we ordered very badly. There are far better Brazilian steakhouses in Houston. Would not recommend. read more
