I have been doing this for several years so we have been on quite a few guided fishing trips. This was THE BEST guided fishing trip we have been on so far!! Larry is a people person and he does everything he can to make sure you have an excellent time. A front had blown through the day before so the weather had the fishing messed up. Larry worked hard and took us to many different spots in an effort to make sure we caught the most fish possible. He is definitely the kind of guide who will work hard for his money when the situation calls for it. Larry provides all of the gear and bait you need. His boat is outfitted with side scan sonar and a nice stereo so you can enjoy some good country music while you fish. You only need to show up with some drinks and snacks plus any any other various stuff you might require like sunscreen or bug repellent. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. *Note: The location on the map that Yelp is giving is inaccurate. He is based out of Duck Cove Marina on Lake Tawakoni. From potting plants to goat yoga and even a train ride, there was plenty to do. The fest was geared more towards kids so if you're planning for a day of fun in the area, put it on your calendar. It's also dog friendly so if you want to bring a furry friend you're able to. We had a lot of fun although you can do just about everything in around 30 minutes. There's a few food trucks as well if you're looking for a bite to eat and there were free gift bags on the way out with snacks, which were nice. Found a hidden gem for the DFW area that I wanted to share with you…read more I was out at Lake Ray Hubbard looking for a fly fishing casting class. The class was out near the water going over some casting skills. Ran into Larry on my way to find this class. Found out from Larry that he had an extensive fishing background, even fly fishing. Larry at one point was the fishing manager at Bass Pro Shop and in his early years had done lots of fly fishing up in the Rockies. Victory Fishing Events has different event on a number of different lakes on different days of the week. Normally the events have a two person team on a boat. On this Saturday they had roughly 24 boats out with having a two persons team. Now mind you, you have to supply your own boat, but what a fun way to join in! I always love finding hidden gems and folks that are truly into following their heart! I highly suggest to follow their website, for these events can change over time and locations!
