We've always enjoyed going to Harbor Bay Marina during the summer, but today's experience was really disappointing. A few weeks ago, we arrived to launch our boat, and there was no one in the office to collect the launch fee. Rather than leaving without paying, we left a $20 bill with a note. The launch fee is $12, and when we called the next day, we were told we had an $8 credit. Today, we returned, paid our launch fee, and asked to use our $8 credit. Unfortunately, the lady manager was incredibly rude--not only to us, but also to the employee working in the office. The tone, attitude, and overall way the situation was handled were completely unnecessary. We always try to do the right thing, and that's exactly what we did by paying even when no one was there. It's disappointing to be treated with such disrespect after making the effort to be honest. I hope Harbor Bay Marina takes customer service more seriously because no customer--or employee--deserves to be treated that way. read more

It a nice little spot for fishing, but we didn't catch any fish. We tried all kinds of bait except live minnow. A guy passing by said he used live minnow the other day, and that's what they like, so maybe we'll try that soon. They do sell bait and minnow here. It was $3.49 for a dozen live minnow and $6.49 for a bag of frozen shad. $8 per person. $1 per additional rod. Bathrooms are pretty clean. The fishing barge is located at the end of the pier. Enter through the main store. There's an inside fishing area in the barge with a rectangular hole where you drop your line in. I didn't go there because there are people in there smoking up a storm. We fished outside at the end of the barge facing the lake. Be careful if you choose this spot because you can get your line snagged very easily, especially on the right side. 3 stars for paying $8 and no fish and also for losing 3 lures from snags. read more

Pros - Fishing Spots - Relaxation - Prices - Clean Bathrooms Cons - Spiders This place is definitely a favorite, I'm part of a fishing family and was raised that way. When I tell you I'm no stranger to this place believe me I'm not. I've come here since Bill Clinton was president, and its like this place has been frozen in time the exact same way I remember it. It only cost $8 to enter and fish as much as you would like until 6 am the next morning and $1 per additional poles. I've caught just about anything you can think of here, and if you have nothing to do all day this is the best spot. There is plenty of shade and its connected to a convenient store that has all the bait, snacks, and equipment you would need. The people at the front are very nice as well, no issues, and their prices are pretty fair for the fishing items, food might cost a little bit more though. One of the more impressive things is the cleanliness of their bathrooms. There's nothing better than having a place with clean bathrooms, someone here is doing a great job, keep it up!!! The ONLY negative and a deal breaker for some, are the spiders that live around this place. Fishing attracts bugs, and bug attract spiders, if you have arachnophobia, this probably isn't the place for you. Some are big, some are little, some are hairy, and some are bald, one of them even pulled a knife on me and asked for my wallet. The spiders here can be pretty daunting but none the less, they just want to catch a meal like you. Aside from that this place is legit, I recommend it!!! read more

Harbor Bay Marina - Fishing Near Me - Rockwall, Texas

My husband and I attempted to use this boat ramp today to launch our boat for the first time together this Spring. There was a young lady sitting underneath an umbrella at the entrance to the boat ramp. My husband walked up to her and asked if this is where he pays. She answered "No." He then asks "Do you know where I need to go pay at then?" She replied "Over there, and you need to move your boat." My husband replied "Thanks for your help." And walked back to our truck to let me know he was walking inside to pay. He walked inside to pay and as he walked up to the counter the attendant inside said "We don't need your business here. You need to leave. Since you decided to cuss at a 15yr old, you're not welcome here." My husband replied "I never cussed at anyone." And walked out. We have used this boat ramp before without any problems. I am an educator in the school district and we have lived in Rockwall for 30 years. I can say with confidence we will never use this ramp again. read more

I remember use to come here here when I was younger decided to bring my Wife here to do some Nite time fishing.The store is nice just wish they had more variety on things and the Restrooms were clean the only thing is the dock needs some repair read more

Nice place been coming here forever. Fishing is ok sometimes good place to relax and enjoy time outdoors. Bring your bug spray though and watch out for spiders. As long as you are there before they close you can stay all night. read more

This place rocks....mind you its a little trashy due to the people who go there..some people have no pride or self respect ...but thats another story... This is a great place to fish... Caught more than enough of my share of fish here...very fun. And if you get hungry there is food in the marina store..more snacks than you can shake a fishing pole at....Ill be back. The owners were really nice they allowed us to view the inside and outdoor fishing facility before paying and I'm so glad they did. The inside faculty had spider webs everywhere and cans and trash were in the water outside and inside. There was one old man there on a Saturday fishing. I assume owners grandpa. It smelled awful and their was trash in the water. We left and went to a free public park to fish for free, we didn't catch anything but it was clean and family oriented and we had a blast. I do not recommend Harbor Bay Marina until they clean this place up. They charge $8pp plus $1 per fishing pole definitely should be free for what their offering. read more

We keep our boat here and have been pretty happy with it. The shop is open pretty late and it's always nice and calm over here!

I strongly discourage everyone from conducting business with Harbor Bay Marina, especially related to renting a boat slip. We were misled time and again regarding price. In addition, we were told our hoist - which we purchased from Harbor Bay - would fit in one slip. Shortly thereafter, and following our purchase, we were told it would not fit and that we would have to move to another spot with substantially higher rent. The management was a revolving door of incompetence, misleading us multiple times. Also, no documentation was provided, though we requested repeatedly and were persistent to document their promises. Overall, terrible experience filled with disorganization and bad customer service. The owner has this reputation, so I encourage all to steer clear if you want a pleasant renting experience. I suggest Chandler's Landing for those living in Rockwall. read more
