Texas Harvest Pie company has moved from an in person store front to primarily online where you can place a pick-up order on their website. The owner was friendly and shared that she brings her pie slices/pies to local community events in the keller area. I attended the local keller art walk and the owner was there with plenty of pie slices to choose from. I opted for the apple crumble pie slice which was delicious, especially the crust. As with most things, the prices for pie slices have increased to $6 a slice. This was a nice treat to have on a hot fall day. read more

The first party we ordered a dozen of the Mexican chocolate cream pies. For the second party, we ordered a dozen blueberry Texas pies. At both events, we had people asking where they were made. Wow, where to start!!! It all started when Ingot my husband a coconut cream pie for his birthday. His favorite all time pie, and this one was right on the mark!!! Not his mom's pie, but darn close. That pie led to 5 mini-pies for Easter. We opted for this so we could try some of our favorites and decide what to order full size the next time, well they were all so delicious, it's hard to decide. Hubby and I tried out the baked goods from the Texas Harvest Pie Company last week. We ordered 1/2 dozen coconut cupcakes and 5 Lil' Texas Pies -- lemon meringue, coconut cream, key lime, banana cream, and chocolate cream. They were heavenly -- that's the best way I can describe them! Each and every one of them was yummy from the first bite to the last! I hated to see one end and couldn't wait to start eating the next one! Could I pick a favorite - no! But, I can tell you my hubby is hard to please and he said the coconut cream was the best he's ever eaten! And, he never offered me one bite of his key lime or banana cream???? I didn't offer up any bites of my lemon meringue either! I know we will be ordering again soon, but I also know it's going to be hard to limit our selections to something manageable! Oh where do I start. I called on the day before Father's Day and asked if I could get a peach pie and they said yes. When I went to pick it up, it literally came out of the oven. I stopped by on my lunch break because I was in need of something sweet. I picked up a chocolate cupcake and two lemon cookies. My chocolate cupcake was really dry and crumbly so I didn't eat it. The icing was fudgey and sweet. It was thick and yummy. The icing was so good but I couldn't eat it all without the cake. Then I had two lemon cookies that were shortbread style. We came here around 3-ish and were the only patrons seated. There was a steady stream of people coming in for a slice of pie to take home though! I will now forever be a fan of Texas Harvest and the very kind people that run it! I wanted to get my Dad a pie for Father's Day. However, live in a different state, and my parents have been strictly staying home due to Covid, so I had to make sure the delivery process would be smooth. The owner reassured me that they can deliver and that it would be no problem. They had lots of different fruit options and options for the topping (lattice, heart, or even a Texas shape!!) so I chose blackberry. The day of Father's Day, it was getting to be 7pm (after they closed) and I was worried they had lost my order. I was so sad about letting down my Dad and I left them what was an admittedly testy voicemail. The owner immediately called me back and explained that they were waiting until they closed up shop for the day so they could take the pie straight out of the oven and deliver it perfectly hot and fresh. I was touched by their thoughtfulness and felt so bad for doubting them! My Dad absolutely loved his pie and kept texting me every time he had a new piece. On a recent visit we had a couple slices of pie. Apple and Key Lime. I'll admit that apple isn't my favorite but there were really not many other options besides buttermilk. This pie was just ok. Not terrible but I felt it was missing something. The key lime was pretty dang good. I did however get an off tasting bite at the end. The crust seemed to absorb that refrigerator taste. Other than that it was pretty solid. As for the service ... that was 5 star. The owner I presume but she was very kind and attentive. I'd noticed this place at the corner of 377 and Taylor St with the Texas Harvest Pie Company sign out front a number of times driving by. Earlier this week, I stopped in to check it out. Texas Harvest Pie Company is a bakery and a cafe. It's in a tiny house which they share with another business - Cocoa Confections Chocolate House. I got there noonish one day earlier this week and the place was busy with lunch for mostly an older crowd and 'ladies who do lunch'. The cafe area looked like it had maybe 8 small tables that seat 2 people each. Mainly I went in to check out the pies. I was expecting more of a bakery with a large case of goodies to choose from when I walked in, however they had a limited selection when I arrived. I would be willing to bet they would have had more on hand to choose from if I had arrived earlier in the day. At any rate, the person I spoke with at the counter said that if you want a whole pie, you can order it the day before, or in most cases call in the morning and it would be ready later in the afternoon. Sounds reasonable if you're planning ahead. In addition to pies, the bakery makes cobblers, cookies, bars, brownies, and tassies. But I did not leave empty handed. In the case, were a buttermilk pie and a pecan pie available by the slice. I bought two slices of the buttermilk pie that I shared with the Hubs and I have got to tell ya, it was damn good. Excellent! Great crust and the filling was so yummy. I'm new to buttermilk pies but will honestly say I am a convert. Sooo good. Anyway, this place is also a cafe. I believe they are open Tuesday thru Saturday for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast they serve things like muffins, pastries, and quiche. And for lunch, they have soups, salads, sandwiches, and (I think) quiche. It looks like a nice little spot for lunch, even if it's an older crowd (umm, like me?!). And they have coffee and tea. They don't have a web site yet, but the person I was speaking with said it's 'in the works'. I did pick up a flyer with their bakery menu, so I'll help them out a bit. We stopped at this place for lunch. All of the food is made from locally grown ingredients. One would expect that to be expensive. But, one adult and two kids were a little over $20. The quiche was fantastic. The soup of the day (tomato basil) was also fantastic. I could not leave there without trying the pie. Unfortunately (or fortunately) we got there late in the day, so the single slice of pie selection was slim. So, we bought a whole apple pie (another $18) and took it home. It was FANTASTIC. As far as the environment goes, it is an old home that has been remodeled into a restaurant. It has a "down-home" feel to it. It is small and you have to order at the counter.
