Really annoying delays when we would talk. We kept talking over each other. Difficult to understand, & they didn't see to have any compassion. Just another phone call. I called St David's & talked to a real local person, who empathized with me. Night & day difference & the choice was clear. I had a couple tests scheduled at the outpatient imaging center. The day of my testing, everyone I interacted with was smiling, upbeat, & so friendly. They seemed to go out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Big shout out to Ashley who helped me with my Hida scan.

i've gone to this urgent care over the years. the wait time varies but is often long…read more I appreciate being able to email them my health history and medication list, as both are long & complex. I think my doing that may be why the Dr who saw me took me seriously, (i saw he had printed out my health history and had highlighted things in it) and spent more time with me than others have. I was super anxious, wayyyyg overtired, and experiencing very intense restless leg (and other parts of my body) syndrome with many forceful spasms, all my muscles in my body were tightly clenched and i couldn't get them to relax and I was also in a lot of pain (this was due to a recent medication change, and my having a bad reaction to it), which I told them. So, at first I was disappointed because Dr. Joe told me that they couldn't give me muscle relaxers bc they would amplify the effects of the drug i was on that I was badly reacting to, so I felt like crying because i didn't know what to do, how to get help. Dr. Joe recommended I go back to my original dosage of the medication, and took the time to show me stretches i could do, and recommended that I take pedialyte or coconut water, and use arnica cream. i followed his advice, got the arnica tablets for leg cramps (i took 6) and the arnica cream for arthritic relief, which i rubbed all over myself. i drank coconut water and went back to my usual dosage of the medication, and did stretches and doing these things worked; got a full 8 hrs of sleep and only had a few leg spasms the whole night! my muscles feel relaxed now, and I am super grateful for that. I appreciate Dr. Joe listening and taking me seriously and recommending all he did, bc i am now back to my normal level of poor health, which is so much less bad than it was before Dr. Joe's help. Was referred to a GI doctor for my stomach issues only, even though I complained about a fever I've had for 3 days. I came in around 9pm so it seemed like they wanted to go home as fast as possible. Also no hand soap in the waiting room bathroom? Not even a soap dispenser in sight. Save the time and go to a different urgent care EDIT: Found out I had severe dehydration and a nasty virus that needed attention from the ER. Wish I would have received better care.

Laurelin Mullins has patiently-patiently-patiently coached me on weight loss, diabetes, septic infections, sleep apnea, and more. I am never rushed, and she carefully listens to all my lame excuses.......AND she actually--somehow--gets me to listen to her recommendations!!! .... I always leave the clinic encouraged, holding a detailed treatment plan that is so easy to follow that even my thick, male, Cro-Magnon brain can understand it ..... The staff are equally skilled and responsive: they remind me of lab visits via telephone, email and text. They even promptly answer crazy questions...... the clinic also has a portal that I can type issues directly to Laurelin and get a quick personal response. My daughter (15) and I both saw them for primary care. I left after I went in twice for a sinus infection and they refused me antibiotics, which I had not taken in more than a decade. I went to an ENT after that. He was SHOCKED that they didn't prescribe me meds. I ended up on them for much longer than I would have liked for a very common infection. Here was the kicker for me: My daughter liked their nurse practitioner Laurelin Mullins, so I continued taking her there. My daughter has ADHD, for which she was treated at Balcones Woods Family Medicine before it changed hands. On April 1, 2019, her high school sent a form over to confirm my kid's ADHD (so she could get accommodations), the practice did nothing for two weeks. I called and they found the form after much searching. Then NP Mullins refused to sign the form because she hasn't been treated for ADHD since they were taken over by Seton. She didn't attempt to help at all (for example, I have a neuropsych's report etc. that I would have provided to assist; they could have looked at old records, etc.). Regardless of the fact that she was treated at that clinic, they didn't sign the forms. This means my daughter is still waiting for her accommodations at school. The practice should not treat children who need accommodations this way. Even the high school was surprised and they do this all the time. They aren't nearly as caring with patients as they used to be. We won't be going back.

Now to the issue that I find unacceptable: the lab tech is crammed into a room the size of a modest walk in closet, and is by herself. If I had known what the setup was like, I would've avoided this clinic. I was looking for an alternative to BSW Round Rock clinic, but This is not it for me.

The nursing staff were all very kind & compassionate, even though I was beyond anxious. Thanks to the nursing staff I was made as comfortable as possible during my stay. After my surgery I was awakened, given time to come around, then informed on aftercare, & sent home to recover. I was happy with my experience, despite having a several hour delay because my surgeon was running late that day.

This review's rating is solely about the billing practices at St David's. The only truly negative, and frankly completely unacceptable, part of my experience has been the St. David's billing department. It is atrocious. I would rate it 0/5 stars and strongly advise anyone to avoid St. David's unless they have absolutely no alternative solely for the billing experience and absolute nightmare that results after your procedure. This is despite the completely excellent surgical staff, nurses, etc., plus my amazing OB/GYN and his team. For the level of care and expertise of the staff, again, EXCELLENT. We were required to pay $900 upfront, yet we have since received at least three additional bills--each one different, each one increasing the total cost to almost double the original amount. The billing team also is very sketchy about requiring this $900 upfront - they claim they won't intake you AT ALL unless you pay for your surgery ahead of time. The bills don't even look like they're from the same organization: different paper, different formatting, and even different account numbers. When we call the surgical center to verify whether these bills are legitimate, the billing staff can't provide answers. They can't explain the charges, they hesitate to provide itemized statements, and they seem completely unaware of why multiple bills are being issued. It is infuriating and exhausting, especially for someone recovering from a fertility-related procedure. Our healthcare system is broken, and St. David's billing department exemplifies that failure. Considering my surgery went exactly as planned, there is absolutely no reason we should have received anything beyond the original bill. This process has been a nightmare, and no patient should have to deal with this.
