I am so glad I didn't look at the prior reviews for TXO Bedford when I was diagnosed with breast cancer! My medical team at TXO is fantastic and it is obvious they all communicate because there has not been a time that I felt that anyone was out of sync. I love all of my doctors and the lab and infusion center are run quickly but professionally and they have treated me as a person and not just another body with cancer. If you go to Texas Breast Specialists within TXO, you will LOVE Shay! She remembered my name from day one and even recognized me immediately when I had lost all of my hair. Several reviews say that you cannot change doctors once you have worked with one. I am SO glad to say that was not the case here. I had seen Dr. Gill for a DVT several years back and we never really meshed well. My choice of doctors for breast cancer was never questioned. Perhaps it was because this was breast cancer-centric but I don't know. All I know is that it was seamless for me. Here is my timeline. You can see that things have progressed very efficiently, even as I have moved from one doctor's care to another. 06/12/2024 - diagnosis 06/20/2024 - met surgeon 06/28/2024 - lumpectomy * Time spent for body to heal from surgery * 07/23/2024 - met medical oncologist 07/25/2024 - met radiation oncologist 07/29/2024 - chemo began 10/08/2024 - last chemo 10/10/2024 - radiation follow-up & mapping 10/21/2024 - radiation start (was deferred due to an unrelated issue) 11/04/2024 - begin radiation 11/25/2024 - end radiation Hormone blocker medication will follow all of the above treatments My doctors, all of whom I highly recommend: Breast surgeon - Dr. Mary Brian (has since retired) Medical oncologist - Dr. Lea Krekow Radiation oncologist - Dr. Janice Tomberlin Finally, Dr. Krekow's nurse Krystal is one of the best and most personable nurses that I have ever worked with. Dr Patel is the most uncaring doctor I've ever seen! He told me about all the side effects, and I had every single one of them plus some from the Chemo.. He was like nooo! I dont think so. I've gone to see a few specialists and they all agreed to yes, it is! One even ran a test. He interrupts me when I try to talk everytime! He has totally ruined my whole body. Have to see so many specialists to try to slowly fix myself. I'm getting on disability for a little while to try to figure out how I can put myself back together from this!? I asked for him to please sign a letter for me so I can get on Snap? Already totally embarrassed,He says no!!! and then he says he will look over it. I called back the next day and spoke to his nurse, and she was just as rude.! I have friends that have cancer and they say I don't need to be going to the doctor! There's just so many things off about him and the way he destroyed my self-esteem! read more

RE: Dr. Sandeep Gill Dr. was always hesitant about how to treat the patient. Didn't explain ALL of the options available, including hospice which meant he would lose my husband as a patient. Instead, chemo was allowed and 1 round of it was devastating - never went back for the 2nd dose. Going on hospice sooner could have meant my husband wouldn't have suffered nearly as much as he did. Called Monday to schedule an appointment with Dr. Patel, after my mom's pcp called to say there is a referral put in with the Dr. I spoke to someone that said they see the referral and will put in an order with scheduling coordinator and I should hear something back in 24hrs. Nothing... on Wednesday, I call and they tell me they don't even see a referral at all... they placed me on hold and tried to call over to the scheduling coordinator 3 different times and this lasted for 20mins.... Was told they will send over a message urgent to give me a call back... nothing .... I call Thursday ... same thing, this place me on hold 2 times to call over with nothing... then she tried to reach a supervisor because of the situation and no phone calls back, this was at 2:30pm. Now it's Friday and still no calls from scheduling coordinator or supervisor and it is 12pm. I've given numerous attempts and my mom has lung cancer that hasn't spread yet and was told by the lung Dr this was a sensitive time matter and needed to be addressed as soon as possible as she needs radiation before it spreads. Dr Patel looked to have good ratings and was trying to go with him, however this is impossible. The lung Dr., also put in a referral to another oncologist in Fort Worth and they tried to schedule and call right away. This Dr has great rating as well. A very frustrating organization. The Dr. is ok, but they only offer the general stuff (chemo, surgery, radiation) that makes them money, not other stuff that works better. If you don't pay, or if your insurance is giving you a hard time, they will not serve you. Its not about the patient, its about the money. If you ask for your medical records you will not get them! I have filled out forms, visited their office and called them 4 times! NOTHING! Perhaps calling the medical board might help? I had a procedure that they said was paid in full.....then I got a huge bill. After the procedure, I could not walk....and the surgery screwed me up! I called asking for assistance and did not get a response. Go elsewhere if you can....they would rather pay for glossy commercials on TV that take care of patients. Commercials are not needed guys...Cancer is a growing industry. BUT you should consider taking care of patients and expanding what you can do for them other than your benefits from giving chemo! read more

I have generally been pleased with Dr. Rojas and Texas Oncology until today. During the pandemic, they understandably are not doing face to face visits, but their telehealth visits are not being conducted in a professional manner. They are only giving 3 hours windows where the doctor will call when she gets around to it with no consideration for my time or my schedule. And to make the situation worse, the condescending, arrogant manner that "Kaitlyn" handled my request for a specific telehealth appointment was unacceptable. Her "well your other medical providers may be giving you a specific appointment, but we aren't" statement made it very clear that Texas Oncology/Dr. Rojas places no value whatsoever on ensuring their client's needs are met. read more

I appreciate all the staff at Texas Oncology , in Bedford, TX. Dr. Lea Krekow, Chrystle, and in the infusion lab: Karen, Patsy, Larry and Leah. Always supportive , encouraging, helpful, optimistic and kind. It is a comfort to have a trusted location close to my home. They are knowledgeable and they have joined my fight against this cancer. They make me feel a part of my treatment team. I am thankful and the results of the chemotherapy and monoclonal antibodies have been incredible; my tumor has gone from 7 cm to 2 cm in only 7 treatments. It is a comfortable place with massage-heated recliners; with snacks and drinks, pillows, heated blankets, tv, magazines and lots of open space with many windows. read more

Everyone at the facility is very nice. Very Clean and professional. Dr. Gill is the worst doctor on any kind I have every had the experience to see. We were treated with very little respect and zero compassion by him after having gone through lung cancer surgery. He walks out of the room for very long periods of time and keeps the patient waiting. He doesn't excuse himself or offer any explanation when he returns. Doesn't say thank you, doesn't shake hands, nothing. With all that's Holy, we will not go back to him again. read more

Well, I was finally assigned a new dr after my last review and although her reviews aren't great I went in with a positive attitude and was pleasantly surprised. However, in my first appointment, she asked me to get an MRI to check something out and it's been 2 weeks since the MRI and I've not heard a word. I've called twice and left messages, still nothing! I know they received the results after 2 days! Customer service is AWFUL! Come on, you can be better than this! read more

Need to give this location and Texas Oncology zero stars!! If a patient feels a doctor is not a "good fit" you are unable to change doctors within the group. They may allow it with the new doctor's approval, but more than likely that won't happen. The doctor I did see, Dr Rojas, ignored my concerns of being tired and achy. She finally tested my iron after about one year of complaining, but I was never told it was low until next appointment, six months later. (I should have been contacted and told this information as soon as Dr Rojas got the rest results!!) Plus no suggestion on how to improve iron levels. Since I felt ignored and rushed by Dr Rojas, I decided to see a different oncologist, not working or associated with Texas Oncology. The new oncologist suggested iron pills and when that didn't help, I was put on a iron drip. She also recommended a colonoscopy since low iron could be from internal bleeding. Long story short, a cancerous polyp was removed and no surgery was needed, luckily. I was told if waited any longer would have been a different situation. Thankfully the second oncologist was thorough. A CT scan that was done at Texas Oncology-Bedford was a nightmare and communication was horrible. Was told the incorrect time for my appointment and when I questioned it, the woman doing the scan was unprofessional and defensive!! Texas Oncology lacks compassion and is extremely unprofessional!! read more

If Texas oncology gives you devastating news go get a second opinion. My mother was miss diagnosed by them and told she had 6 months or so to live and there was nothing they could do for her. Two years ago she had breast cancer went through treatment and was declared cancer free. We all know breast cancer usually comes back so it's a time/waiting game. In Jan they found a brain tumor and two spots in her lungs. After having surgery to remove the brain tumor they said she brain tumor was not caused from the breast cancer and it was from an unknown source. So they do yet another pet scan 3 months after the first because they did not get a good image on the first. My problem is her why wait three months to say we messed up the first time. Since they could not find the source they said you have 6 months sorry but nothing we can do. I encouraged her to keep fighting so down to MD Anderson she goes. They do all the test over again have to request multiple times for samples from the original cancer and the brain cancer because the samples that where sent where to small to determine if the two where related. Low and behold they where the same. They also did a biopsy of the lungs, Texas oncology refused said it was not possible they where to deep. But yet somehow MD Anderson was able to do it and where flabbergasted that Texas oncology did not do this. So now they know the source and the tumors are small and we have a treatment plan. So if your reading this and Texas oncology gave you bad news don't give up go to MD Anderson they are much more sympathetic and go that extra mile like taking a lung sample to help you fight. I was there with my mom when tx oncology told her the bad news there was no sympathy in the man's voice. I have lost all trust with this organization. I will refer every one that I run into that gets cancer to MD Anderson and tell them to avoid Texas oncology like the plague. read more

Dr. Vikas Aurora and his staff, really I should say team are genuinely some of the nicest professionals I have ever met. I met Dr. Aurora six years ago when I was directed to and admitted to the hospital under orders from my general practitioner and my wife. Maybe, it was luck of the draw, that I met Dr. Aurora but after 48 hours in the hospital he walked in my room, introduced himself and explained the hospital had asked him to visit me and take over as a diagnosis was alluding them. I was released 4 days later and I have been under Dr. Aurora's care ever since. I believe each time I meet with him the news he shares with me is better and better. I would be remiss if I did not mention Heather his nurse that stays in touch with me between meetings - truly a wonderful young lady. I can't decide if I like the H.E. B. or Grapevine location better. Both locations have great people that I enjoy visiting and meeting with. read more

I went to see my Oncologist in January Dr Anna Rojas. My previous Dr I had back in 2001 when I had my first Breast Cancer. Retired after I had my Second Breast Cancer in 2017 when I had a double Mastectomy. In 2019 I was placed with Anna Rojas and she was seeing me every 6 months. In January of 2020 I had a regular check up. She felt my Breast lighter. She said I don't feel you need a Ultrasound. It had been sore under my left Breast. But I didn't say anything to her. Two weeks later I was pressing the area where it was sore. I press under my Left Breast and found a big knot. I contact ed My surgeon Dr Mary Brian. She felt it right a way. I had surgery right a way. They thought they got all the Cancer. The Pathology report came back and said my Breast was full of Cancer and had to be removed. Who knows how long it had been their. I was able to which away from Dr Rojas to another Dr. because she miss it. Once you have been seen my her they want let you change.
