My leg from the knee down to my foot is still swollen and I am in pain and cannot walk far. My follow up appointment was scheduled for 1/13 but I called the office because 2 weeks before because I was in a lot of pain and the swelling was getting worse. I saw another surgeon and he tried to drain it but wasn't successful and told me to wait to see Dr Borick. Dr Borick said the surgery didn't work because I had bad arthritis in my knee that he knew was already there and that I need a knee replacement! After seeing my primary doctor and explaining the situation and her seeing the condition of my knee she said she wanted me to see someone else. I've been seeing Dr Rodriguez at Texas Orthopedics and the care there is far better! Dr Brick's bed side manner is non existent and he has a condescending way of talking to you. I told him that I am worse off before the surgery and I can't work and didn't even care. He explained the surgery may not work but didn't say I could possibly end up in worse condition. I sent an email to the administrators at OACT explaining my issues with Dr Borick and haven't heard from them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from OACT. Texas Orthopedics is a much better group of doctors.

Yet they were cautious about my distancing from other patients and kept me safe at all times. The receptionist, the Technical lady who took the x-rays, the PA who spoke with me and took a first look, Dr. Gallagher and the checkout lady were all so nice, yet efficient and professional. Second visit to discuss surgery was exactly as fine! From entering to leaving their office, I felt like a very special person, a king!!! Their work is excellent, including Dr. Gallagher's. The surgery went as he had explained. The recovery was as expected. Candidly, the first 2 weeks was a bit uneasy. But the two catheters into the upper and lower knee kept pain at bay for the first 5 days. Then the Prescriptions definitely helped me minimize pain for the next 4 weeks until I was out and about. I ran out of one of the meds and used the portal to reach Dr. Gallagher. He ordered those from my neighborhood pharmacy and my wife picked them up in couple of hours. In all my confidence in Dr. Gallagher and his team is extremely positive. You can trust their word and their work plus they'll make you feel great!

As I told them, they have earned their 5 stars! They are very, very nice, helpful, and professional. I waited for a little while in their nice office, but I didn't have to wait long. When I saw Dr. Burris, he had actually read my file (information submitted prior to visit)! He also had already looked at the x-Ray I got just prior to the appointment. He examined my knee thoroughly and listened to whatever I had to say. After that, Dr. Burris went through all treatment options with me after telling me that my knee problems were from severe arthritis; because I'm also concerned about costs, we discussed that as well. I chose the cortisone shots in my knee, and received one right away. No follow-up necessary until I need him again. It's rare that I can say this, but it was a very pleasant medical experience. I won't hesitate to rely on him again! Add 5 stars from me, too!

Office personnel need work, disinterested & not friendly. The dr. is overrated per my personal…read moreexperience. It took about 6 weeks to get in. While explaining to the dr. why I was there, he kept using the hand gesture that we understand to mean hurry up & finish talking. Dismissive & rude. I'd fallen off a low step stool & twisted my knee. Couldn't walk on that leg for 2 weeks. Constant weakness & pain for months. My podiatrist recommended this dr. so I had hoped to get a thoughtful diagnosis & treatment or plan. I was told I have arthritis, "maybe" some torn ligaments, & need a new knee, that I need to lose a lot of weight before I can safely have surgery, & after asking TWICE for a shot to alleviate the pain, I did get one but a week & a half later I called the office for a second shot where the pain actually radiated from (other side of knee), I was told NO, to wait for 4 weeks for the shot to work (WHAT???), & to have a shot every 3 months until I get the knee surgery. I told the office woman that the doctor could've told me this when I was in there...no reply. This dr uncommunicative, disinterested, in a 'hurry.' My knee hurts 9-10 on pain scale still & I will definitely be looking for a dr who not only treats (sort of) medical issues but also sees patients as sentient beings who deserve respect & feel real pain. Maybe 2 stars are too many./Update: I went to another orthopedic surgeon for a second & much more thorough opinion I trust. Turns out I have arthritis AND bursitis in both knees, will have physical therapy for a while, only need to lose less than half of what this dr said to have knee surgery, still needed, still in pain. The bursitis is hereditary & the cause of pain. A good doctor really is important. Oh, & the new doc listened to me first because he learned things needed to know, gave me a thorough exam.
