Second visit to discuss surgery was exactly as fine! From entering to leaving their office, I felt like a very special person, a king!!! Their work is excellent, including Dr. Gallagher's. The surgery went as he had explained. The recovery was as expected. Candidly, the first 2 weeks was a bit uneasy. But the two catheters into the upper and lower knee kept pain at bay for the first 5 days. Then the Prescriptions definitely helped me minimize pain for the next 4 weeks until I was out and about. I ran out of one of the meds and used the portal to reach Dr. Gallagher. He ordered those from my neighborhood pharmacy and my wife picked them up in couple of hours. I had positive experiences both times. The orthopedic surgeon I had at the Cedar Park location both those times has since retired. This time I was truly disappointed. I was referred to a trauma orthopedic surgeon after a motor vehicle accident in which I broke my ankle, amongst other injuries. The plain x-rays taken in ER didn't show much. In particular on the outer aspect of my left ankle the swelling was Unbelievable. Probably a good 4 inches to 6 inches sticking out from the outer aspect of my ankle. It was so bad it was difficult to get my foot out of area of the car after the crash. I was placed in a boot and given a referral to Texas Orthopedics in Round Rock to follow up. I made the appt. to the Round Rock location approximately five days after the accident with the orthopedic trauma specialist. I arrived and was taken in. The PA that saw me spent no time with me. I had no follow up x-ray. I was advised to continue wearing the boot and return in six weeks. I had never had such a bad injury before. I guess I was looking for a little reassurance that my ankle would heal ....eventually.

Why no other doctor thought of that before, I have no idea. I suffered through the injections, creams, socks, inserts with other doctors without any relief. I had the peroneal tenodesis surgery and was walking without pain within 2 weeks of surgery! Doctor Shock is an amazing doctor and just a very friendly and welcoming guy -- I feel like I've known him for years! :) I highly recommend him for any foot pain that you may be enduring now -- you can be completely confident that he will fix you right up!

I underwent bunion surgery on my right foot, along with correction of another toe. Unfortunately, the final outcome has been very disappointing. Following surgery, my big toe healed with a significant gap between it and my second toe, creating an unnatural appearance that has never improved. In addition, the toe that was corrected with a pin never healed properly and now "floats" rather than resting naturally on the ground. Despite prolonged taping and following the postoperative instructions provided, these issues never resolved. I became so dissatisfied with the outcome that I ultimately chose not to return for additional treatment. I understand that no surgery comes with guarantees, but I feel my concerns and the long term appearance and function of my foot were not adequately addressed. Years later, I remain unhappy with the results and regret having had the procedure performed. Based on my personal experience and outcome, I cannot recommend this surgeon.
