Had an amazing time. Thank you Texas Ranch Life!!! #MFRMFlightSchool2016

Just got back from a work retreat. Texas Ranch Life took care of us. Beautiful property and a 5 Star Chef! The homemade pies are amazing. Everything is fresh off the farm. The lodge is the home I stayed in and it was cozy and really cool. Had an amazing time. Thank you Texas Ranch Life!!! #MFRMFlightSchool2016

My husband, mother in law and I had a wonderful time here. Taunia and John are awesome! Super responsive, polite and friendly. They really made us feel at home. The ranch is beautiful and very peaceful. Safe and clean. Family friendly. Taunia made a great recommendation for dinner and live music. John was great when taking us horse back ridding. I will definitely come back.

    Beautiful!! So much fun

Such a wonderful combination of amazing views, compassionate owners, cute and quaint 200 year old homes and animals all around! Our company comes here every summer for team/ self building empowerment and I couldn't even dream up a better place to do this. There is a 5 star chef with delicious meals to warm every belly. I hope I get the opportunity to visit again.

Day Spa Patrons - 3 ladies We came just for massages and wraps and were rather rushed through signing in process then whisked down to a relaxation room. While finishing up the paperwork our therapist came to get us. No time to relax. No tour of the facilities, nor shown the changing room which also contained robes which we discovered way later. It was a cooler April morning and my spa room I was put in was cold. My therapist hands were cold as well. I asked right away if she could adjust the a/c and she said no. She did go get me another blanket. The message was very good but my feet were cold the whole time. I put my swim suit on and headed to the hot tub thinking this will be great. Hot tub was not even heated yet for the day - put was on. When I asked about it they said to go to the front desk. The lady scurried to turn it on. Also the Bathrooms needed toilet paper. There were No towels by the pool. No cushions on pool lounge chairs as shown in pictures. You would think when you first open up in the morning you would have everything ready and put out. A quick tour or instructions would be nice too. For the prices we paid the attention to detail so lacked. I asked where the showers where and was told none and that only certain services included a shower. So if you want to go to a really cool place and pay 5 star prices and the little details don't care to you, then this is your place. I'm so disappointed since I wanted to take a friend there when she came to visit. My take away is that their bread and butter are the overnight guests who sign up for the detox program. It's too bad since they could have a good amount of clientele who are just looking for a nice spa.

These were included and helped to busy up the day Detox program 1/5 The detox program they do is just not for me - it included a morning proprietary detox drink with vegan protein, tea, oil blended together. It was terrible and very difficult to get down. Lunch was a liquid as well and similar except with more green stuff in it - also tasted terrible and dinner was thankfully a delicious soup. The soup was a major highlight. I will absolutely be making some on my own at home as fall approaches. The reason I rate this so low is that for the cost of this retreat there should be an option for participants to have additional whole, organic raw fruits and vegetables as small meals instead of or alongside these drinks. Complete deprecation does not work for me and it's disappointing there isn't another option available to participants. The only way I enjoyed my time was by supplementing my eating with fruit and veg I brought in from a local grocery store. I shouldn't have to supplement a reatreat experience to enjoy it. Logistics 1/5 There was just an overall lack of logistical organization during the 5 days. As someone who has worked to do logistics for events I know this either makes or breaks an experience and in this case it broke it in a lot of ways. Everyone had to get their daily schedules from the front after our class and most days, despite this being told to us as what to do at check in, the front seemed surprised we all showed up (unprepared). Schedules were hand-written and on scrap paper and for me, despite email correspondence about my schedule pre arrival, incorrect. As a result I missed one of my services (they did provide a refund) but this was a huge gap in expectations v reality. The program also advertised buying additional oils to use in your daily drinks (cbd) but this wasn't in stock so again, a huge missed opportunity. COVID related - apparently in Montgomery county where the retreat is located masks are not required. There weren't a lot of people and a lot of opportunities to maintain 6 feet distance except in spa services (no one wore a mask). This was a bit alarming overall. I would have felt better if I'd have seen some kind of screening being done for everyone at check-in (temp checks at least) to give some sense of covid caution, but there was none of this. There was hand sanitizer in one shared common space but again, it just seems like more could have been done to give people a bit more piece of mind (temp checks since masks were not being worn). Overall, I got what I wanted and needed from the experience but only because I supplemented it with what I needed. Therefore I give it a 2.5/5. It was a great space to recharge and reconnect but manage your expectations around it being a "spa resort". If you've been to 4 or 5 star facilities where the service is impeccable this will fall short.

Great hotel experience and amazing staff!…read more My friends were originally planning to have their wedding at the A&M botanical gardens but then it started pouring rain that morning. The staff at the Stella was so kind and allowed us to use their speakeasy bar for the ceremony and it couldn't have been more perfect! Dawn was an incredible help and coordinated everything that morning. She also made sure people didn't walk in during the ceremony. Pam was just a blessing helping do everything at the last minute like setting up the Bluetooth music, pinning the boutonnière on the groom and even fixing peoples hair unprompted. She knew exactly what we needed even when we didn't. Truly exceptional! We also stayed at the hotel and had a problem-free time. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was good. They also have a beautiful waterfront to sit or play in front of. Highly recommend The Stella!

Rooms are spacious and large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is large although I found the shower a bit odd as there is no floor spacing with the shower area as there is no separation from the drain. So if you shower, have the curtain up and hope that the water doesn't accumulate. The exercise room is pretty big with complimentary towels and water bottles although the exercise machines are right in front of the windows so the sun may shine on you as you're trying to attack the treadmill. The pool area is spacious with plenty of lounge seats. There's also cornhole in the massive yard next to the lobby; a nice touch. Parking is complimentary with valet parking available. There's a few shops/restaurants nearby that you can dine at if you don't want to venture further out in the Bryan/College Station area. I'd be open to staying here again as this was one of the more impressive Marriott properties I've encountered.

We enjoyed a day at the water park. It's not too big and not too small. My kids are older so they enjoyed the lazy river and swimming. We had drinks and got food for the kids. The drinks (smoothies and adult drinks) are great but the food was not great. We ate a local restaurant most nights because the dinner options at the resort did not sound appetizing. One the second day we ordered breakfast at Harrison's and the were very slow and hectic. I recommend the buffet which they are prepared for and the best cost. We took our kids golfing for the first time. We booked a late tee time to avoid the crowds. We enjoyed the course and carts to ourselves. We received excellent service during our entire visit. Our rooms were okay but nothing special and no special view (we paid for rooms with a view). One room faced the woods and one room faced the water park. The website showed a lake and fountain as the view. We had tons of bugs and wasps nest on the balcony so we could not sit outside. I would definitely get different room locations next time. It was a fun and relaxing family vacation that we would do again.

Service is friendly and pool restaurant good. The country club is in walking distance if you want golf or tennis. There are several pools. For families, the pool is THE activity and truly, the only activity. The woodlands lake is a 5 min drive so the trolly and pedal boats entertained us! It was fun. The breakfast was delicious. What was a disappointment: - total of 1 lifeguard for the entire pool area, which included three pools and a lazy river with a wave area. There is "swim at your own risk" signage, but that is NOT a family friendly environment. - there is a 1x/ day arts and crafts that you have to pay extra to do. - the other staff-led activities were bingo, movie by the pool, and karaoke. The staff was not energetic, smiling, or enthusiastic with the exception of the activities manager who led the water melon eating contest. - it rained for one of the afternoons so we all went into the conference center for games. Wow was that disappointing. The staff was sitting around at a table, no music, no explanation of the table games, not interacting with the guests. When asked they said "you can play whichever game you want, it's self service." My husband and I used our phones to at least put on music, we facilitated a game of tag, and several families had to escalate to the manager to setup the karaoke and popcorn machine because the staff in the room was literally sitting around sticking to a rigid schedule and telling us they can't set anything up until a certain time. Of course the manager said that is absolutely not true. - the staff didn't know how to work the projector for karaoke so the kids just used a laptop that the staff member had sitting on her lap. Minimal interaction etc. The events team staff (minus the supervisor) was really subpar. Easily made for a 2 rating for sure. If you want a true family getaway, the JW Marriott in San Antonio is far superior. Photo with my son and one of the disengaged staff members. I'll also say that, again, for this luxury price, the staff need branded sweaters not oversized personal apparel.
