They came to repair everything I needed in a timely manner. The team was really friendly and the process was smooth. I didn't have any problems at all. Very poor and unprofessional employees. I called three times and the receptionist sent me to voicemail. After I called back I spoke to another lady that transferred and hung up on me. I called back a third time only to not get answered and my call went to straight to holding. Seriously take your business somewhere else. Unclear, unprofessional will make sure people know how you treat people! Update: Read your lease carefully! These people attempted to come into our home without prior notification! We called the police because we thought someone was breaking in. We found out it was an employee of Texas Renters. They said they send over a notification through email that they where scheduled to come and inspect. We never received anything, not even a phone call that they where coming over! Also we moved in November Thanksgiving week and our condo had no heat, leaking faucets, dirty carpets, dirty tile floors, broken locks, cracks under the door, cracks in the ceiling, dirty air filters, and a broken dishwasher! The agent said everything was suppose to be fixed when we moved in. We didn't have heat almost a month and the guy that came to fix said the owner "didn't have time to be fixing small things like this" and "he was too busy fixing million dollar homes!". I wouldn't give this bunch of lay abouts one star, but I had to rate to post a review. I can't say as to how they treat the clients that entrust their homes to, but I can tell you about the horrible experience my husband and I had when trying to rent a home from them. While the agent, Suzanne, was quick to show us the house, after that, it was all down hill. We had numerous difficulties with the "easy" online application. We were then told we were not able to fax or drop off our applications, but instead had to scan and email several pages, along with credit card number ( the application fee for myself, my husband and our son was $145) we waited for over a week before getting an email from a different employee stating that we had been approved, but there was a slight increase in the deposit due to our pet. The email was specific that we had to email back stating that we were interested in paying the deposit, and we would be told the total amount of the deposit. We emailed that we were very interested and to let us know the amount so we could pay it as soon as possible. The email/phone call/text message/smoke signal never came. Nearly another week goes by. Finally, my husband got through to an assistant who told him the property was already leased. Almost two weeks ago. Another email was sent politely asking what the hell was going on, three more days pass before we get a phone call from the original agent, Suzanne, explaining that she has taken a few days off, but so sorry, they approved someone else. Someone Else? After a month of this? Seriously?!?!? Trying to call the agency is a Herculean task at best. You constantly get voice mail boxes belonging to no one in particular, the agent would never answer the cell number she gave us ( and we called during business hours, not off time) and the one and only time we got through to an actual person, my husband was put on hold every two minutes, being bounced to one dead end extension to the next. Over all a dreadful experience. And we have found that speaking with other agents, that they have heard nothing but complaints about Texas Renters. To sum it up, DO.NOT. use Texas Renters. read more

You want to charge 250 for steam cleaning carpets that were dirty when we moved in and I stated that on the initial walk through paperwork. NOT EVEN A STAR. Terrible maintenance or customer service is not a case when comparing the fundamentals... Just turn away if you want to protect yourself from SCAMS! I got my sublease after few days of paperwork and visiting the agency a few months ago. The process is you pay $45 application fee and bear all the bureaucracy then make your name replaced with the old tenant in a shared house. At that time (August-September 2016), 2 other people did same by replacing and paying $45 application fees. In November 2016 something came up and I wanted to replace my place with someone else, everybody in the property agreed and the new tenant applied of course by paying $45 application fee to compensate paperwork. We all know the procedure and the rules very well since 3 out of 4 have recently changed in the same lease period and with same conditions. However, Texas Renters came up demanding a-month rent worth 'release fee' this time. When I explained that there is no fee for this since we all have just experienced it, they have changed their argument to $99 fee. It must be a sort of 'air fee' or 'we are so clever fee' huh... I have always asked one simple question about the topic; where is this rule? show me that rule... Yes, you guessed right! there is no rule, no explanation, no reply! they said they cannot answer the questions (hope you have an idea about customer service and client oriented approach anymore). They openly BLACKMAIL us to pay extra $99 in addition to our $45 or we cannot get our rights! Pathetically, the same issue is solved 3 times at exact same condition in last 2 months...I cannot believe these things are happening in the 4th biggest city in the US :/ read more

I saw a house and it said available to rent. I reached out and were told to apply. Which I did. Each adult that have to live in the house, they are required to register and run credit check. Charged $45 per adult. Worked with very very poor customer service name Clarissa. A few days later, emailed me saying they have offered the house to someone with better qualifications. Tell me how you feel when you hear that. Why didn't they told you first if the house is available before making you apply and charged you for credit check. So I replied back if she have other houses offered. Til this day, she never follow up. Worst customer service ever. Will never ever do business with these people. I even called and spoke with broken English person name Marie. Asked to speak with Clarissa. Told me to hold. Then she hung up on me. Waited like 5 minutes expecting a phone call back. Nothing. So I called back and she must have recognized my number and quickly apologized. Too little too late. Stay away. And they got away $180 for doing nothing but run credit check for 4 adults. read more

I am giving a 3 only because of Taj in the client relations group. She has been the only helpful person there. It took TexasRenters 5 times to get my lease correct and it was not on time. The property I am renting, I have been renting for 5 years, never an issue until TexasRenters took over managing about 2 years ago. Portal never works right have to always try again later. Call in and always have to leave a message for my rep. Just not customer oriented. Hopefully things will improve, as I love living where I do. read more

Probably the most dishonest, unprofessional company I have ever had the misfortune of doing business with. I have been a Realtor for nearly 20 years. My client submitted an application along with her $ 45 application fee almost a month ago, was approved and was told they were emailing her the lease and pet agreement for electronic signatures, mind you NOT sending it to the Realtor that in representing her for review. I did in fact review before she signed and found numerous blanks. Called and informed them that all blanks needed to be completed before signing. After several attempts to get a completed lease, one was signed and returned BUT not until Texasrenters.com insisted that the security deposit be paid or they would give the home to someone else. Security deposit paid, lease signed and returned, move in next week, all good. Right ? NOT. Phone call the day after security deposit was paid and lease was signed notifying us that she did not qualify under their terms and would not be getting the home. Client had already purchased new furniture, showed the home to her excited 11 year old. BAD BUSINESS. They charge an "administrative fee" for paper rent payments, electronic rent payments, credit card rent payments, REALLY ? Would give 0 stars if possible read more

We contacted Texas Renters when we transferred to Houston in May 2015. We were informed that they did everything on line, including if you wanted to see a house they would send you a code to get into the house. This worked fine for us, seeing our scheduldes were very busy at this time. We found a house that we liked, it was only going to be a short term rental because we did not know how long until I got transferred out of the area. After dealing with the realtor and her contacting the owner about not having a laundry room and that we had dogs she called me back the same day and said the owner was going to build a laundry room and the dogs were fine. We were going to be required to pay a pet deposit and a monthly pet fee, ok with us. We were going to be moving in June 1, 2015, but things got dragged out on getting the move in dates set up. They said that we missed our appointment, but we were told DO NOT CALL the office someone will call you and set up the time and date to come to the office. Nobody called and we did not go, so they canceled the lease and listed the house back on the market. I called the realtor and she said that was a mistake, but now the house was $750.00 a month and not $700.00 as we agreed to. So we needed a place so we just accepted it, not that it was right but again we needed to check out of the hotel. So when they called to come to the office, I was told the amount that I needed and took it to the office, to find out that I needed money orders "NOT CASH", so I had to leave and go to Wal-Mart and get money orders. I came back and was going to sign the lease but then they told me I needed the pet rent of $25.00 also in a money order, I was so mad, I walked out and told them to keep the house, I was tired or running around like a yoyo to make them happy. After walking out of the office pissed off, the realtor called me and asked if there was anything she could do to change my mind. She ended up coming to meet me at Wal-Mart and I got another money order and signed my papers in the parking lot. So we moved in July 3, the laundry room was not completed, this was going to be completed in June, house had not been cleaned. We took pictures to make sure that we covered ourself. After moving in we contacted Texas Renters about the Laundry room over and over, they finaly got the room done in October 2015. We have been dealing with the house flooding from the back door and they also just got that fixed in November. We have been seeing water stains in the ceiling and noticed mold and when asked about it, it was only painted over and tried to be covered up. We have not heaters in the house, so we had to go buy electric heaters, we also had to purchase A/C unit because the only one they have is not big enough to cool the house. The electric in half of the house goes off and you use the Microwave and fan at the same time and they have done nothing about that. You can never get a hold of anyone if you call the office, you only get a voicemail. Remey in the office has to be one of the most unprofessional employees that I have ever dealt with. She treated me like I was dirt and would not do anything to help on the day of signing of the leases. She is why I walked out of the office and was not going to rent from them. So now 5 months into our lease, 3 months into having our 3 dogs here, I get a call telling me that we need to get rid of the dogs because we are in violation of our lease. They have added $1,000.00 to my bill for "unauthorized Pet Fee" and a $330.00 Late fee for not paying the pet fee. Again they knew about our dogs and this is one reason we rented from them, but now I am thinking this was the biggest mistake that we could have made. The realtor Gina, was about the only one that was professional from the beginning, but not I am not able to reach her. So if you are thinking about renting from them, make sure you check everything out, I would not want anyone to have to go thru the same thing. I am sure this is going to cost me alot of legal fee's, but it is worth it for my dogs. I just tried to pay our January rent early, like we do every month, but the system will not let me make a payment with out the extra pet fee's and late fee's. So I guess this is there way to start an evection, is I am sure they are going to say that I did not pay January rent. SO beware and again, check it out for yourself, this has been our experience with them and yours maybe difference. read more

If I could give a negative 100 stars I would. I agree with others Texas Renters is the most unprofessional company around. I told them I was moving back into my property on 06/13/16. They assured me their repairs would be finished on 06/12/16. They were to remove some built in shelving, installed by the tenant. I had an epoxy company scheduled to do my garage floor at 10:00 on 06/13/16. I had to pay a waiting fee while they took the shelving apart and out of the garage. I had to pay the movers a cancellation fee because I couldn't move in plus extra storage rent. I paid a contractor to correct everything they were supposed to do and things they screwed up including drilling extra holes in the bathroom tile when putting up the curved shower rod. Estaphanie argued with me that the work had been fisnished. The inspector came by again on Tuesday, took pictures, sent them to Estephani (Ms. Incompetent) telling her the repairs had not been finished. The tenants not only replaced the back door, which had a pet door and the new one doesn't,but they moved it 2 inches out toward the patio. And it was not flush, there's a gap on the side with the lock. Texas Renters refuses to pay for my contractor having to do the repairs that were on their work order but weren't done. My advice is to avoid this company at all costs!!! They do not answer the phone or return calls. And on the rare occasion that I did speak to Ms. Incompetent she was very unprofessional and rude. Again, beware this is not a professional company!!! read more

They took my $50 application fee, I turned in ALL documents & now the lady Ailynn is no longer with the company? What? She was great. They do not return phone calls or emails. I then spoke with Marcelo yesterday & he was supposed to call me back. I emailed this morning & left messages & then they had the nerve to send the phone straight to voicemail on every call. The receptionist is totally clueless as to anything that goes on there. She's no help at all. They also increased the price of the house after I submitted an application & paid the fee. The website states that the application process turnaround time is 2 days after submitting all documents. It's been a week & they won't respond to my realtor or myself. Then Marcelo told me he had my emails & info but couldn't find my application? Everything is electronic. I will RUN from any property that has their name on it in the future. If I was a home owner I would NOT leave it up to this company to rent out my house and handle my affairs. First of all they are RUDE!!! I can't ever get anyone to call me back when I leave a message. Then I had an issue at my house and it took the man 5 min to fix then they want to charge me a $75 fee for stuff that wasn't even done!! The sad part is you have no choice but to pay it because they included it into my rent payment. Then if you want pay using your debit/credit card they charge you an extra $45 processing fee which is ridiculous!!!!! Nightmare of a company to deal with. I found a lovely rental home on HAR that had been posted for sometime so I contacted my Realtor to view the home. The house was very clean and at a great price for the area. So we decided to go for it. You can only apply online with a $45.00 fee for each applicant over 18. First my husband applied the it went threw and got two automatic emails. Then I put in my application and received a error message. I contacted the company could not get a hold of anyone. A hour later I tried again at work. Same error message then I tried on another computer same message. I took a screen shot and email the person who handles online applications explaining the problem also I received 18 automatic emails from this company about my application.On day three I get a automatic email saying that they processed my husband app. but are still waiting on my application... Really!!! I have been trying to talk to a live person for 3 days now. My realtor and I called for 5 days left voicemail and emails only to get a hold of the person at the front desk who was a queen at diverting calls. Lots of promises of returned phone calls that never happen. Only saying that the online system does have problem time to time then saying that "" they have a lot of applications for this property for the last few weeks, but thank you for emailing a screen shot of the error message"" Really are they just collecting a bunch of application fees before taking it off the market. This company is painfully hard to get in contact with a live person. I would hate to be a renter a have problem. The only response I got from this company was via automatic email. Talk about Bad service. I would not waste time and money on any property listed by this company. read more

Being honest when I first moved into the rental property it was a nightmare. There was sewage all over the back yard and the septic tank was not functioning. I called the day I got the keys (on a Friday and they are closed on the weekends) and informed them about the situation. I was never called back and I kept calling Monday the manager Estephanie was always out or away from her desk. Finally after talking to Paula on Tuesday she informed me that it was my responsibility to fix per the owner of Sam of Texas Renters. Finally the manager Estephanie got on the phone and said that since it was a issue prior to moving in that it will be taken care of. I felt as if no one was on the same page regarding what was going on with their properties. That was until Emmanual came into the picture. Everything else that needed to be fixed has been fixed in a timely manner and he has been in contact with me every day even multiple times at day letting me know the status. He is extremely professional, courteous, and gets the job done. If you need something taken care of he is the one to go to. read more

I have been renting from them for two years and have found that they will not respond, the phone line is always busy, and they always have an excuse. The quickest way to get things done is to contact the owner directly for repairs, or in my case most often the air conditioner company that covers the warranty. So up until this week I have minded my own business and they have left me alone. Then I received an email saying the owner was planning on selling the property and an appraiser needed to come look at damages tomorrow... But not to worry because they would not allow the property to be sold to someone that would not honor my lease. So I took the next afternoon off work to be there for the inspection. The next day, the appointment time rolls around, and no one shows up, I attempted to call and after 45 minutes of busy signals I am able to get through. I get the sorry excuse from Anna, "I called and left a message this morning." My phone never rang, and it is not possible to leave me a message so I know that is not true. So I reschedule for the next day at 2 PM. At 2:20 they call me to tell me they are running late, I informed them that I had class at 4, and I would be leaving at 3:30 and if they were not able to complete the inspection by then that we needed to reschedule. I was the assured that they would be able to make it by 2:40 and it would only take, "about twenty minutes." At 3:10 they still have not arrived and they call me again to say they are about five minutes away. By 3:30 I have had enough, I called the TexasRenters office (and by some miracle got through on the first try) and informed them that I could not wait any longer and they would have to come back another day. At this point my babysitter was still home with my four kids. Two hours later I get back home and find out that Carla arrived, "around 4 o'clock," and inspected the home without my knowledge or presence by intimidating her way in through my baby sitter. So thank you for this unbelievably frustrating, complete invasion of my privacy, and violation of my trust. read more
