Ok, So I realized, my last review was 2020/2021, And we are back to standard restaurant operating procedures. I have to rate them high, as we consistently get a very good steak with all the fixin's for right around $50-$80 out the door including tip, apps, drinks and food for both of us. Now we have a couple standard orders: 16 oz Sirloin or Ft Worth Ribeye (no bone) with Mushrooms, Jack Cheese, Grilled Onions on the side.. with a Full House Salad (Salad Mix, Eggs, cheese, tomatoes, and crutons) - Blue Cheese on the side, and a cup of Chili. Now, at times we add Shrimp or ¼ slab of ribs for $6-10 but it is often another meal for Husband or I. We cut me a 4-6 oz portion of the steak, a bit of Salad & a couple spoonfuls of Chili and I have my Gastric Bypass Portion. Other Days especially when I'm meal prepping via the restaurant: Husband: a 10-12 oz Sirloin, Chili & Baked Potato (He usually eats it all at the restaurant) w Diet Coke, no ice (which is often overlooked by servers & they bring a cup of iced diet coke). And my: 6-8 oz Sirloin with House Salad all the fixings Blue Cheese onbtge side & a Sweet Potato w Butter. As I mentioned, I often add a Side Kicker of Shrimp (5 or 6 to the order) or a ¼ slab of Ribs - extra BBQ Sauce (Often 1- 2 more protein dishes for me) with Unsweet Iced Tea. Now let's talk about true yeast rolls! Tx Roadhouse has them hands down. Sometimes they are proofed to airy perfection other times they are delicious but a touch smaller. Ok, I am a bit bias for a light airy roll like my cousins & aunties from the south made at holidays... add that Real Honey Cinnamon Butter and dreamy! TIP: Now, I do feel Tx Roadhouse frequently over-cooks it's 6 oz & 8 oz Steaks, so if you want Med Rare, you may get Med. Their "Happy Hour Early Bird Special" is these smaller steaks, and I have sent them back once in a while but usually I just go on with my med steak, and eat it. If you are a bit picky about the cook of your steak, you may want to order the 10-12 oz and have leftovers or share like we do. TIP #2: Use their website, app, etc for "Call ahead seating" my usual wait at the restaurant is usually under 15-30 min. Their website is often spot on! Tip #3: If you want to eat at home, they have an awesome Family Meal options for reasonable pricing. Website states: Family Packs are TAKEOUT ONLY and cannot be ordered for dine-in. Steak temperatures cannot be customized. All steaks come cooked to medium (hot pink center) Options include a variety of Protein & 2 Sides. Flashback: Now, I know they still have cute bags of shells on peanuts & only allow one per table (or 2-3 people) - disappointing to a degree, and the throw your peanut shells on the floor is no longer the norm... they provide a bucket for your shells at the table). It may be cuz we are in Albuquerque, it may be because we are more aware of food allergies like peanuts, it may be a cost factor, it may just be a hold-over after Covid... but Waiting with kids, it was nice to fill their bellies a bit during the wait. read more

This place exceeded my expectations. I'd be happy to return, given some serious scheduling guardrails. I've only been to a Texas Roadhouse once before, when the franchise first opened in this city (probably 25 years ago). It was fine, blah with meh food and peanut shells being thrown on the floor. A relative wanted to return for a birthday, with a group of 8. At prime dining time. Ordinarily not something I'd buy into, but I went and it was just fine because of Texas Roadhouse's organization and systems. We called in advance (group larger than 6) and were told to just let the people up front know when the entire group arrived. My wife and I got there crackling early (as we are wont to do), well before anyone else. After inquiring and finding the friendly and sympathetic Texas Roadhouse folks absolutely would not seat us until the whole crowd had arrived, we initially sat/stood by the front doors - the slamming drove me away, first standing outside and then later to the perfectly comfortable and accommodating bar area. A beer sure made it easier to wait until everyone arrived. Man, and that bar staff was friendly and efficient. Pricing was as expected and - hey - I was sitting down with a beer and not on a bench with a door slamming next to me every ten seconds. Incidentally, Texas Roadhouse's atmosphere presents a little more on the "regular folks" side, and it shows in the (enormous) crowd who show up. Pricing seemed a bit better than the Longhorn Steakhouse chain, but - not that Longhorn is in any way snooty or even upscale - the TR ambiance was definitely a touch more downmarket. But who cares? These people were pros. When our crew arrived, they had us all seated within five minutes - wow. (Because it was a MADHOUSE of customers out front by that time.) And - boom - there's our server (cheers, Dana - thanks for taking such great care of us) and boom, there are our drinks and apps and bread and, just a tiny bit after that, our mains. The tables could have been bussed a bit more effectively before we sat (there were cloth napkins under our bench table from previous diners) and they were littered with table tents and cocktail menus and electronic game/payment points that I just moved to the wall between booths to give us space. Our servers and bussers cleared away dishes, glasses and tableware in a flash when they had served their purpose, bringing more drinks and plates and bread in another flash. All with a big, genuine friendliness. Wow. Great experience, on the service end - especially when you noted how many other tables were receiving the same great service. It was LOUD with the music and the crowd, but perfectly engineered to allow conversation within our booth even with all the noise and chaos going on around us. Now let's talk about the food: I tend to only get steak in nonchain places, but this time I went ahead and got a cut-that-morning 16-oz Texas Roadhouse ribeye - and it was just fine. Larger than advertised, for sure. Cooked perhaps a little lighter than the medium-rare I'd requested (but better under than over, eh?) but tender (preliminary sous vide prior to sear? - that would be my bet) and tasty, served with two perfectly fine sides (with quite a variety of sides from which to choose). I'm a big eater, and I was contentedly full. And it was (in this day and age) remarkably inexpensive. In fact, the entire table's drinks and beverages (we grabbed the check) totaled a whole lot less than expected. Payment was easy with the electronic tabletop paypoint that I retrieved from the wall at the top of the booth after eating, and we were happy to tip heavier than asked for the great service we'd experienced. Boxes were brought quickly and smilingly for those who didn't finish the reasonably impressive portions they'd been served. Now (for grumpy, crowd-hating retirees like myself who have wives who take home half their meal in a box: I benefited in being able to try the steak kebabs over rice, which were tender and tasty), be aware there's an Early Bird menu. I'd totally get the one-pound ribeye again. Okay: the food was tastier and lower priced than expected. (I'm not saying it's a great steak, but it was a solidly _good_ one; I didn't regret one bite of anything I ate at Texas Roadhouse.) Bev pricing was as expected, maybe a little on the low side. The room is loud chaos due to the popularity of the place. It was pretty clean, but a crowd makes a mess (same holds for the restroom), so they were fighting as best as they could. Service was fantastic, uniformly - to an extent that is remarkable for a chain place. I have been to Texas Roadhouse many times over the years and the best thing about them is their consistency. They are always busy, the atmosphere is always lively, the service is always good and the food seems to always be average. This place is great if you're looking for a steak at a reasonable price, but the last few times if been there my steak has just been average. To give them credit, they nail the medium rare temp almost every time and that kitchen is a well oiled machine, but my steak of choice is a Ribeye and their Ribeye's seem a lot tougher than the choice cut Ribeye's I buy at the store. My family loves coming here, so we will be back, but maybe next time I'll try a filet. read more

The portions were generous, and overall, the food was good. The mac & cheese could use more depth of flavor, but it wasn't bad. She was very apologetic and sent me a voucher to make up for the meal that I was not happy with. I have to say that the staff at Texas, especially the one at Pan American, have always strived to make their patrons happy. I've always enjoyed going there because of the wonderful service i always get. I haven't found any restaurant that gives better service than Texas, that's why I keep going back. Just returned to Texas Roadhouse I've been there several times starting back when they had peanut shells on the floor and while I can't remember that far back for the last several years I've had a consistent experience at Texas Roadhouse The food has been five out of five The service is 5 out of 5 however the atmosphere is -10points. The noise is so bad in the restaurant that I'm seriously considering eating in my car. Honestly I'm not even really upset that they told us we should have a table in about 15 minutes when it was a whole hour wait the issue is just noise. An average restaurant experience is usually around 70 to 80 decibels. Hearing damage begins at around 85 decibels and I am certain that it's well over 90 decibels in the restaurant first they have annoying country music cranked up to 11, annoying songs when it's somebody's birthday and of course everyone is yelling in the restaurant because even with yelling you cannot be heard over the music. Honestly I'm shocked I went back as I complained years ago and instead of getting better it was the worst yet. read more

Texas Roadhouse is such a delicious delicacy. I had it for the first time about a year ago and it's truly life changing. The hot bread, the ribs, the steak... fabulous. I went yesterday right when they opened- service was quick and super attentive, food was fresh and hot, I got sent home with a box of bread and cinnamon butter. What can be better?!? I don't know if it's the butter with cinnamon or the rolls themselves, but really these things are sooooo addictive, I forget I've ordered food much of the time. I'm partial to the chicken strips and the chicken breast entrees. However, this time I went for a salad with the chicken strips-- had to get some veggies in! The salad was great, the greens were very fresh and tasty. The place was packed, so we did the call ahead add us to the waitlist thing and so glad we did it meant we got in with very little wait. It's weird to not have peanut shells all over the floor anymore, but probably less likely to slip and fall! If you've never been to one before it's rather saloon-like in the ambiance but in a fun way. The service was great and our food came out very quickly despite the crowd. Our combo appetizer was good but the chicken was tiny and not hot like we asked for. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and our loaded baked potatoes were great! Serving size at Texas Roadhouse had always been generous (great that they offer complementary bread, too!) and I always left the restaurant with some leftover! I had a steak (with 2 sides) and thought the food tasted good and was very reasonably priced (for a great tasting steak + 2 sides of choice!). The portion is huge and I think almost everyone I saw took something home (because if you get a steak, you likely won't be able to finish everything). I liked that the restaurant always seemed popular among diners, staff were friendly and service had always been good (if you are able to grab a table/seat). Pro tip: if you are there on your own or with another party, check out a bar, which seemed to me like less wait time than regular dining area. read more

First and foremost, this is not a reflection on the server. She was very nice, helpful and attentive. We did not cut her tip, because of the kitchen's and restaurant's epic failures. We, intentionally, chose to go here for the prime rib. It was a special occasion and I wanted to make sure my dad had his favorite prime rib dish. We tried other locations, but there were no tables available to reserve in advance or did not have prime rib on their menu. We scoured all restaurants. It was either here or Outback. This location is very ill equipped for larger than 6 people. We were all jammed in a booth with a chair at the end of the table. After ordering, 3 of us who ordered prime rib were told later there was no prime rib. Extreme disappointment to start out with after all of the work we did to find someplace that had prime rib for my dad. Ribeyes were the replacement. Three out of 7 meals arrived, 3-4 minutes goes by before another meal is delivered and then the other 3 meals were another 7-9 minutes. The person who ordered grilled chicken salad asked for hard boiled eggs on the side, which there was, but also spread all throughout the salad. Defeated the purpose of asking for eggs on the side. Unfortunately, this meal did need to be completely replaced. One person ordered a NY strip--medium/well. Three others chose ribeyes in lieu of prime rib and were to be cooked medium rare. The NY strip was rare, one ribeye was still mooing and another was well done. At this point, there was no way we wanted to send steaks back fearing what could happen. Two steaks were taken home to be properly cooked at a later time. The carrots were very under cooked, we were missing sides (received later), the music is too loud inside and outside and the very under cooked ribeye had more fat than meat. Service was great. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. Ordered Chicken Critter Dinner and it was disappointing to see the plate upon arriving. The pieces were small and very dry. On our previous visit the salad was disgusting. The lettuce was brown and huge pieces that were too large to eat. There was ZERO freshness to it at all. Very bad quality for Texas Roadhouse. The manager was requested and we advised her and she stated that she would inform the person in charge of salads. They should never serve a salad with lettuce in that condition. Another bad aspect of this particular restaurant was the music. Wow! The music was so loud that it hurt your ears and you most could not hold a conversation with the person across from you. It's my Birthday!!! Where else do you go for a fun yummy dinner??? Texas Roadhouse of course!! We wanted the Willie Nelson booth but it was already occupied so we were seated next to it. I was so anxious for a Cosmo martini Birthday cocktail and BRY & BRIE made sure it was made right for me. But, even better was my Prime Rib cooked to perfection! I think TxRh has the best Prime Rib in Abq. My friend had the Dallas Filet Mignon - also perfection with amazing mushrooms. I enjoyed the Line-dancing where the staff steps up to give customers a good time - and you can jump in and join them. A fun casual environment with lots to see and hear of good country tunes in the background. Then after we'd eaten the staff came over and put a huge red spongy Cowboy hat on my and announced it was my ## Birthday! Yee hah!!! I think of all my times at TxRh this was the best! Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite chains! I'm obsessed with their rolls and butter! It's usually pretty chaotic so make sure to get on the waitlist online. The last time I went, the floors were filthy (I straight up had a potato skin and a dirty napkin under my feet). Food: Excellent. This chain of restaurants is consistent regardless of location. Service: Excellent. Wait time for a table is usually 15 minutes if I call ahead to be in the waitlist. Our primary server was efficient and personable, as were all of the other staff. Management: Ususally, it's the wait staff that needs training but, at this location, it was management that needs help. All restaurants have an occasional error, and tonight it was my turn. My wife's steak and sides were exactly as ordered, but my steak was well done instead of medium rare. Disppointing, but not a disaster. The person delivering my meal apologized and took it away. Then, I waited. And waited. And waited. My replacement meal arrived as my wife finished her meal. The waiter told me the manager had offered to take my meal off the check. OK. When the bill came, I was toild that the manager had changed his mind. Only after the waiter saw my anger could he convince the manager to make good on his offer. I have never been there before today, and I can see what all the fuss is about. I came with 8 friends for an early dinner. A few heads up if you are coming as a group... 1. No reservations ahead of time... waitlist is available. 2. Half your group must be present in order to be seated. 3. The server must put the entire group's order into the kitchen together, so if you have a late arrival they will hold up your order processing 4. Mostly they have booths for 4 or 6 -- this is not really a good place for groups. With that out of the way let me say that ... - the food menu is extensive and adaptive based on the large number of side items available. - the prices are good --- and in fact, from 3-5 pm there are meals priced at $10.99 and these are full meals with sides. - the food is fresh and well cooked to order - no slouchers here - all the servers hustle and so does the kitchen staff and managment. Kudos to the entire team for working so hard to please so many hungry folk. **My only comment to the management is turn the volume down on the music a tad bit:: the acoustics are not good and it's tiresome to try to converse over loud music** read more

Signed up for Yelp just to leave this review. This restaurant's music is extremely loud, from inside the entryway to any table. We asked our server if it could be turned down--we were having to lean across the table to have a conversation--and when he returned, he said that his manager had said that it was as low as it would go. (I appreciate him checking and acting apologetic about it, but a sound system with no lower volumes available than "server can hardly hear my order" is absurd.) The volume suddenly spiked right after our orders were taken, and our server appeared soon after to let us know that there was going to be a line dance and that the volume would be turned back down after. I appreciate him keeping us in the loop, but the supposed lowest sound setting should have been plenty loud for a line dance (which involved clapping, too--not that more noise was needed). The rolls are tasty, but why does the butter that comes with them need to contain so much sugar? (or at least offer a plain-butter option instead of defaulting to sugared for all tables!) Our meals were delicious, though--that and our server being so attentive and apologetic about the music made this review two stars instead of one. But still, if I ever eat at a TX Roadhouse again, it will be take out. Also, whoever designed their wait time estimation system needs to recalibrate it. We nearly left when we were told our wait time would be between 55 minutes and 65 minutes, but then we were seated after about 20 minutes (though the places to wait in the restaurant were inadequate for the crowds). read more

Texas Roadhouse is definitely a place you must try at least once. The bread rolls are definitely everyone's favorite! My toddler who is extremely picky loves the bread rolls and can eat an entire basket in a setting. Now you must call or go online to reserve your table since it gets very crowded and waiting time can be 20-40 minutes depending on the day. We waited 20 plus minutes to get called inside to wait an additional 10 minutes for a table. Once seated we knew right away what we wanted and thus we ordered appetizers and our meal right away. This place is loud so fyi is you plan for something romantic or a more calmer place. For those that love country type of style and music then this is your place! I love the country style type of vibe which is similar to my home. The food os cooked to perfection and well seasoned. There is definitely something in the menu for each family member in regards to their diets. Our server stayed on top of our drinks and constantly checking on us. From what I could tell the folks really enjoyed working there. Restrooms were cleaned but they should add more stalls with the amount of customers in the restaurant. The parking lot situation, and the location (more so that it's behind a frontage road, not connected to the lot by the academy light, etc. or maybe it was but didn't seem like it) just gets -1 star. The steak, sure good for a chain restaurant but tasted leathery and metallic to me so another -1 star. Horrible customer service. 30-40 minutes for a table for 6.. we waited well over an hour and still no table. When asked how much longer they didn't know. Meanwhile 3-5 other parties of 6-7 that arrived well after were called. Never again read more
