I've been twice and both times I had a good steak as far as chains are concerned. The sides are ok. The rolls come with this cinnamon butter that is very tasty! The last visit our server was very attentive and checked in on us probably every 5 minutes or so. She was great! Both visits we had to wait for a table. 1st visit it was probably 30 minutes of waiting. 2nd time maybe 5 minutes of waiting. A little noisy but that is pretty much expected at these kind of places. I'm here with the family for a birthday dinner. The waitress Shannon is very attentive and very quick. There are five adults and two kids and everything came out hot (or cold, the salads) and was very yummy. The steaks were cooked the way we asked and the $3. rib kickers were really good. Terrible customer service. Wait staff was indifferent, food was cold. Some staff (skinny blonde girl) at greeting counter was making negative & rude remarks about customers. We ordered entrees that were missing some of the advertised ingredients, not extras, but actual items as part of that entree. For a "chain" steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse delivers good steak and other entrees at reasonable prices. Dr. Who fans will think the place is built with TARDIS technology - it feels much larger on the inside than it looks from the outside. The free peanuts to munch if you need to wait for a table, which seems to be fairly often, are a nice touch. Once at table, the service has been consistently friendly and prompt. The manager comes around to make sure all is okay, nice to see an active interest in providing a nice dining experience. Good variety of items to choose from, with specials available (subject to change), but if you can catch one, a good deal becomes even better. Seems to stay fairly busy, which is indicative of good food and good value. Recommended. read more

We have had mixed results when dining at the Texas Roadhouse in Ithaca. We decided to order dinner as takeout (only curbside is available). I will say that its not clear where to checkin, tho there is a tent (no one was there). The young man came to our car asked for name on order and promptly returned with our order. He was friendly and polite. We were thrilled with our dinner. We both ordered the Dallas Filet 8oz, We ordered medium well and it was cooked to perfection. Mashed potatoes and mushrooms were our sides plus 6 yummy rolls and a piece of cheesecake. It was the best meal we've gotten at this restaurant. Where to begin- signed in at the front desk at 5:30pm for a party of 6. Was told the wait was 40-45 minutes and they would send a text. Waited out in our vehicles. After an hour went back in an was told 10 parties still in front of us and it's could be 40 minutes because these parties called in earlier around 3 pm. Returned to the vehicle and waited another 15 before returning inside to get an actual time frame. While waiting to speak to the desk another employee asked us to wait outside multiple times while we we in-line to determine the actual wait time. We requested to speak to a manager to get an because the employees gave us multiple time wait times. She refused to get a manager. Long story short- 2 hour wait time and once seated the food too 1 hour after ordering. 3 total hours -Our waitress was the only bright light of the experience. So when they started building this neon palace I asked myself "who at Texas Roadhouse thought this would be a good idea in Ithaca?" A town with more vegans per capital and a general distaste for excess of which Texas is actually proud of. As I can see from the reviews only 6 of the 39 reviews are people from the Ithaca area. Seems to be a destination for parents visiting college kids or something. Anyways, we brought our reusable to go bags and limebiked over* ready to climb over the bodies of the peanut allergic children stacked outside* and skip the tofu to dive into the full Texas experience. Overall Meh is the right word. We had problems with the free kids meal coupons we received from them at another event as the waitress started making up restrictions on using it that were certainly not on the fine print. Had to go to the manager to get the whole reading part squared away. Took forever but they did correctly allow us to use these things. Ordered our meal and it was totally average. The kids meal steak options were med-well and well. No giant chain is ever going to make my kids eat a steak above med-rare again. We also got a sirloin steak and a NY strip. They came out and were the exact same cut. I know the short loin and sirloin are very close on the cow, but they are different (as told by the price they charged). However we quizzed our waitress and she didn't know nor could tell them apart. Then a guy came up to see how our meal was and we asked him the same question. At least he was honest and said he didn't know and they looked the same to him, but no one was in a hurry to give us our $2 back. Finally got the bill and the charged us for a extra drink (even though it was supposed to come free with the kids meal). We have always enjoyed the food at the Elmira restaurant but tonight we tried the Ithaca restaurant. The food was delicious as expected but we ended up packing our meal to go and leaving because our table was beset with an excessive number of flies. It was like eating outside near garbage cans. The staff were well aware of the problem, I'm sure management was working on the situation but they should have closed the restaurant until they could fix this issue. I don't expect to eat a $40 meal surrounded by flies. I will give them another chance after they have been open a little longer but first impressions stick and tonight was an unpleasant dining experience. read more

This place is a sensory overload. I walk past this place almost every day and I can hear country music blaring from across the street. You don't need music playing OUTSIDE your restaurant. The music inside is a bit loud but they seem to adjust it according to the size of the crowd inside? It died down significantly when we were there and when it did the volume was turned down a lot. But I think the most cringe-worthy part of the experience was how every 10 minutes someone had a birthday and they encouraged the whole place to shout "YEE HAW!" The food wasn't bad for a chain restaurant. If you want a mind blowing steak, go elsewhere... obviously. I just wanted the ambience of a Texas themed restaurant since I do miss the obnoxious pride that state has for itself. I went for a meal at Texas Roadhouse for the first time , never being to Texas Roadhouse I didn't know what they had to offer but assumed it was similar to a outback or other chain steakhouses. I was very impressed upon entering to see the "Butchers" behind the case cutting steaks fresh and displaying their product in the front refrigerated case to allow customers to choose there own steak. Along with buckets of shelled salted peanuts like you get at the baseball games everywhere I don't know what else you could ask for. I went in a small party just with two other people and the service was very fast getting are orders taken in food out in around 15-20 minutes or so, They also checked in relatively often in between square dancing to the jukebox, and birthday yee hawing. I Would definitely go back and have no complaints worth mentioning thanks Texas Roadhouse for a great night and not just another night out for dinner. read more

I am a complete fanatic for a good chain restaurant and I love a good value meal. I have been to Texas Roadhouse in Ithaca twice now, and I couldn't have more praise for this establishment. Firstly, they do a killer birthday celebration and truly make you feel like royalty. Next, I went there with a friend today, and it was her first time there. She casually mentioned this in passing to our waitress, and we were almost immediately treated with an appetizer sampler so that we could familiarize ourselves with the menu. True hospitality! The service is quite professional and everyone is so nice and happy to help. Their bread is out of this world. The steak is as decent as you would expect, their drinks are spectacular, and the rattlesnake bites are not to be missed. The dessert menu is a little skimpy, but the bottomless peanuts truly enhance the full experience. Would recommend for special occasions, weeknight dinner, or even Saturday lunch. I frequent this restaurant as I'm a huge fan of the smothered chicken. We've had both good and horrible experiences at this place, which is to be expected. Not every day is going to go perfectly. Most instances, we are quickly (or semi quickly) seated, we get our drinks and plenty of bread and butter. The food is always tasty and decently priced. The place is loud, which is typical for TRH, but sometimes I do avoid it in favor of something more quiet. The place is almost always packed so I would highly suggest call ahead seating! read more

Ithaca Ny has a new Texas Road House. It has an amazing menu,and the food is great for the price. They also have some amazing wait staff. Myself and my husband love it there. I'm a big fan of the Elmira roadhouse and was so exited to find out they finally opened one here at Ithaca. We went there right after they opened but their food was disappointing. All the steaks we ordered were overcooked and everything else was very very salty. Even the breads didn't live up to the roadhouse standards. I guess the chef here have a very steep learning curve. We'll still give it a try in the future and hopefully we won't get disappointed again. read more

I ate at this Texas Roadhouse in Ithaca n it was not very good service,brought us our drinks n left n took some time to take our order,then our salads took forever to get,then when they arrived so did our steaks n on top of that they wasnt cooked as ordered !! They did bring me another steak n potato but then it wasnt right either !! I enjoy most all Texas Roadhouses meals but this one just didnt do it for my cousin n her friend n i !!!
