We are finding great places in Ithaca just walking by! We spotted brewing vats in the second floor windows. Revelry Yards brewpub is right next door to the new dumpling place. (Hence my half-photo.). We loved the beer garden bar with seating on the patio out back, surrounded by high-tops, but it was taken up be an event this day. We took seating out front, and there's an indoor bar and indoor tables, too. They have a nice food menu, and we had some whipped lightly-peppered feta with savory kalamata olives and pita. We were here for the microbrews. We shared a self-designed flight of four sours: The Electric Blue Lemonade has a nice bright blueberry flavor with tart lemon, but as expected, it was sweeter than we wanted this day. Fuzzy Logic is a nice mild peach and mild strawberry, refreshing and mild. We liked the apricot better because it was a nice balance of sweet and tart. Our favorite was the Melon Collie, watermelon and mint awakened by a tiny bit of salt. That was the most refreshing. They had around ten more crafts on tap. We liked this place and the tasty selection. Fun people-watching. The friendly service was a little slow, due to the event they were hosting, but really, we were happy to linger. read more

Came here on a Sunday night, in the summer so wasn't packed by any means. Yet somehow you would think our waitress was running late for something they way she just ran around. Very strange service. Our drinks were good, and the food - salmon and steak - was delicious. The tiramisu we got for dessert was actually the worst ever. I do not recommend. At one point though, our waitress came and reached over knocking my glass of water over spilling it everywhere. So ahead reached over to the bar, grabbed cocktail napkins said "enjoy" and walked away... so we cleaned up the mess. It was crazy. read more

Stopped in Revelry Yards for a drink before heading to dinner elsewhere. The inside was very clean and well decorated, good for a date night spot. We ordered a beer and a flight which was fun for trying their variety of IPAs, Pilsner's, and sours. All of the bartenders were very upbeat and friendly. We didn't order food but their pizzas, wings, and truffle fries looked delicious! Think this place deserves better reviews based on surrounding spots in Ithaca. read more

Nice little spot in Ithaca. It was recommended by a park ranger at Buttermilk Falls. We got a table outside right away, no waiting. The server was very friendly but was lacking to attention. They gave us a bottle of water but no glasses to pour it in. We got our drink and food orders in. The cocktails were nicely made but very weak, very weak for the price. The food came out fairly quickly, but still no glasses and no silverware either. Whoever brought us the food went inside and gruffed at someone who then brought us some glasses and silverware. My friends burger and truffle fries were delicious. My steak frites was, well the truffle fries were good. The steak was not charred like the menu said and it was very chewy and lacking seasoning. We got split checks and provided our cards for payment. They disappeared with them far too long, at least 15 minutes. I don't like my card out of sight for that long and why places don't have table side payment is beyond me. Overall a nice place with friendly staff, but service was lacking. Will never go back unfortunately. Cocktails were good, food was fine. Service was terrible. Me and two friends went mid day during the week it was by no means busy. We got sat, ordered our drinks, apps and meals at the same time. We got our drinks and apps within 20 mins and then we were never asked if we wanted refills, another cocktail just never checked on. There were flys everywhere inside. We received our food an hour after our apps, at the same time as a table who came in 30 mins after us and mind you we all got sandwiches. So, this place is so popular that people were being asked when they arrived if they made a reservation...at 2pm!! My husband & I were lucky enough to get there around 1:15, & just sat at the window by the bar since the bar had zero seats, but the ne t thing you know they were turning people away! Wow! Our service lacked, I think they were too busy at the bar to remember we were sitting there,so we only had 2 beers, the 2nd one took awhile to get, but, they made up for it with delicious food!! Their version of Brussels sprouts is not your typical fried kind, but vinegary,onion-y goodness, I couldnt stop eating it. We also did a cup of chicken soup, and pretzel crusted tenders. We loved loved loved these apps. The place was definitely crowded, saturday(fairy fest day at the commons) but im guessing its like this all the time. We had a really delicious dinner here. Excellent pizza! Server was friendly although he did seem to keep trying to talk us into ordering more food lol. There was a pipe overhead (air conditioning I assume) that was dripping on us/our table, but to be fair we didn't ask to be moved because it was only a minor annoyance. We told him an he responded saying sorry snd went away - never asked for making it better. Same either 2 other people in the group. Let me first say that the beer was delicious. However, let me follow by saying it took fifteen minutes to get drinks. We never received our appetizer. The surprise was that we received our entrees BEFORE the appetizer! I'm a rochesterian, and I travel to Ithaca often, but was so surprised to find such a disorganized state. If the kitchen is overwhelmed, do not sit more people. We were there nearly two hours waiting for a whipped feta dish as the app. Kt was a bit frustrating--I was taking my mom and her friend around the finger lakes and thought this would be a great space! I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was too concerning not to share. My husband and I ordered from Hook & Co Fish Fry (Revelry yard). I ordered the fried clams, and within hours I became violantly ill. I ended up spending the entire night in the ER and am still sick today. My husband also received a cheeseburger that was ordered medium but arrived raw in the center, I do have pictures. What disappointed me the most, however, was how my concerns were handled. When I called the restaurant, I began the conversation by explaining that I was not looking for a refund, free food, or any compensation. I simply wanted to let them know about my experience so they could investigate it and hopefully prevent it from happening to someone else. Unfortunately, the shift lead, Phil, repeatedly talked over me and would not let me fully explain what had happened. Instead of asking questions, expressing concern, or even asking if I was okay after I explained that I had spent the night in the ER, he immediately insisted it must have been something else I had eaten--even though I had not eaten anything else that day. He even asked whether I was ServSafe certified, as if that somehow determined whether I could report my experience. At no point did he apologize, ask what symptoms I experienced, ask when I became sick, or indicate that he would report the issue to management or the kitchen for review. Food issues can happen at any restaurant. What matters is how they are handled. A professional response would have been to listen, show empathy, gather information, and investigate the concern. Instead, I was dismissed before I could even finish explaining the situation. I sincerely hope the restaurant provides additional guest service training for its management staff and reviews its food safety procedures. I wasn't looking for compensation--I was simply trying to help prevent someone else from going through the same experience. read more

This is my number one go to restaurant in the city of Ithaca NY right now. The drinks and the sips are top notch. I've never been disappointed in over two years now. Bonus is that the kitchen is open later than almost any other local eatery. 10 pm. Inside Bar is friendly. There is also an outdoor space in the back with another outdoor bar for warmer months with a pizza oven. This space also connects mid block to the bike bar next door ( another great location that often has live music events. Thumbs up !!! read more

No pizza, but they had lots of fire wood. NO pizza their draw item? Patio is in an alley. No really an alley with sewer man holes in it! Have you ever had cold Crab Cake Slidders? Me and my friend split the hot honey fried chicken, mac and cheese, and the brie/chicken sandwich. Nothing particularly stood out, and I am unsure if I will return (I have heard good things about their steak frittes though). The mac and cheese needed more cheese. It just tasted like buttered noodles. Salad was average. The chicken sandwich was fine... a smidge on the dry side. The chicken was also okay. I liked the sauce, but texturally these had a weird textural combination with parts being too soggy and other parts being too hard. read more

I sat at the bar and was welcomed immediately. The bartender was great, she brought me water while I looked at the drink/dinner menu. I had one of the best salads I've ever had; toasted pecan salad with salmon. If I could, I go back again tonight. The bar area is large and there are high tops as well as booths available. read more

A large group of us came on a busy Friday night so we sat at the bar. I got the fish and chips and a beer. The fish was one huge fish, and it was so good. The fish itself was great, and well battered, maybe a little too much but I didn't mind. Fries and tartar sauce were good, and cabbage slaw was decent. I would definitely recommend it. Food took a long time, and everyone got their food at different times: half of our party was almost done by the time we got our food. The bartender was friendly and checked in on us often though. Hostess, however, just said "no" to our faces when we said our party number. She only sat us down when we said we don't mind sitting at the bar. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Part of 4 adults reservation for 7:15 pm We were promptly seated. This turned out to be the highlight of our dinner. Other Positives: The food. 1 Turkey caprese salad, 2 Turkey avacado bacon sandwiches, 1 Bacon cheeseburger. All fresh and very tasty. The negatives: 1.From food order to delivery , one hour elapsed. Yes they were busy but this was beyond failure considering the simple food we ordered. we should have walked out in hindsight. 2. The Waiter - we saw him twice before he left our tab. Once for drink order, next for food order. never saw him again until I had hostess find him for our bill. No "how is everything, can I get you another round, how about desert, anyone need salt/pepper/ketchup? Fortunately the hostess graciously provided the ketchup when I visited her. 3. Did I say the Waiter lol. Perhaps a weekday experience when less busy would change my mind but there are far too many other restaurants to visit while in Ithaca .
