So, this place is so popular that people were being asked when they arrived if they made a reservation...at 2pm!! My husband & I were lucky enough to get there around 1:15, & just sat at the window by the bar since the bar had zero seats, but the ne t thing you know they were turning people away! Wow! Our service lacked, I think they were too busy at the bar to remember we were sitting there,so we only had 2 beers, the 2nd one took awhile to get, but, they made up for it with delicious food!! Their version of Brussels sprouts is not your typical fried kind, but vinegary,onion-y goodness, I couldnt stop eating it. We also did a cup of chicken soup, and pretzel crusted tenders. I was in Ithaca for a work trip and like to stay near the Commons and explore different restaurants. Revelry Yards looked nice and wasn't very busy on a Tuesday night. I sat at the bar and was welcomed immediately. The bartender was great, she brought me water while I looked at the drink/dinner menu. I had one of the best salads I've ever had; toasted pecan salad with salmon. If I could, I go back again tonight. The bar area is large and there are high tops as well as booths available. read more

This is my number one go to restaurant in the city of Ithaca NY right now. The drinks and the sips are top notch. I've never been disappointed in over two years now. Bonus is that the kitchen is open later than almost any other local eatery. 10 pm. Inside Bar is friendly. There is also an outdoor space in the back with another outdoor bar for warmer months with a pizza oven. Worst service you can find. Our waitress must have forgot we existed because we got 0 drink refills, we had to actually get up and find her 3 times to ask for the bill and to-go containers until for finally went and asked for them at the bar. While the setting itself was fairly nice, the food was not good, orders were incorrect, and the gluten free meal for one of our family members was cross contaminated causing a severe reaction. Me and my friend split the hot honey fried chicken, mac and cheese, and the brie/chicken sandwich. Nothing particularly stood out, and I am unsure if I will return (I have heard good things about their steak frittes though). The mac and cheese needed more cheese. No "how is everything, can I get you another round, how about desert, anyone need salt/pepper/ketchup? Fortunately the hostess graciously provided the ketchup when I visited her. 3. Did I say the Waiter lol. Perhaps a weekday experience when less busy would change my mind but there are far too many other restaurants to visit while in Ithaca . A large group of us came on a busy Friday night so we sat at the bar. I got the fish and chips and a beer. The fish was one huge fish, and it was so good. The fish itself was great, and well battered, maybe a little too much but I didn't mind. Fries and tartar sauce were good, and cabbage slaw was decent. I would definitely recommend it. Food took a long time, and everyone got their food at different times: half of our party was almost done by the time we got our food. The bartender was friendly and checked in on us often though. Hostess, however, just said "no" to our faces when we said our party number. She only sat us down when we said we don't mind sitting at the bar. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A: I work in restaurants. B: I never complain. So when I say this was one of the worst dining experiences of my life - please believe me. Let's start with the terrible service. I sat and it took 15 minutes for the waitress to come greet me, another 10 for the glass of wine. The food itself took another 20 minutes on top of that (as in 30 minutes after I ordered it). The appetizer never came until it finally came with the main course, instead of before as I asked. The same incredible wait period happened at the end when she twice asked if I was ready for the check, and I said yes both times, because all I wanted to do was leave, and yet again 10 minute wait times between each asking if I wanted the check. It wasn't even busy. Though she might have been the only server on the floor, I couldn't tell, that that would help explain it I guess. But even so she never checked on me once when I got the meal or I would have told her how bad it all was. So now, the food - the burrata was not burrata, it was just burned cheese on a piece of pepper, tasted like wet string cheese. The burger was supposed to be medium rare came out super well done. As overdonen as the burger was the fries were underdone, and had no crisp to them. if the waitress had come to check on me I'm not sure I would have sent it all back thougj because at this point I just wanted to be done with it, and I couldn't endure another 30 minute wait. In total the waitress spent 30 seconds at my table, I spent an hour and a half regretting my choice of place. Don't repeat my mistake. read more

Really more like 2.5 stars, but it was a move-in night for the local colleges and the place was swamped, so I'll cut them some slack. The food was decent, but it took a ridiculous amount of time for it to come, even the cocktails we ordered right away. Ambience was fine - we were seated outside, but were behind the central bar, and the vibe from the bar was pretty frantic and stressed. Other than that the beer garden area seemed nice enough. One other thing - the seats at our high-top table were super-uncomfortable, almost like there were missing a piece. When your food takes 30+ minutes to arrive, you really notice that. Service was barely passable - our waitress never checked in after we ordered, didn't acknowledge the wait, and had to be pestered to bring our check. Oh well. We'll be back in Ithaca a bunch of times over the next 4 years while our kids are in college, so I was hoping to find a place where we could be regulars. Sadly, this ain't it. read more

I haven't had dinner here, but I have had brunch. To put it simply, it's okay... but there's definitely plenty of room for improvement. While my friends and I were seated quickly upon arrival, for example, our server wasn't necessarily attentive and it took us quite a bit of time to get the check at the end of the meal. Additionally, while we had been provided a bottle of water for the table at the start of our meal, we easily distributed the entire bottle at the start of our meal and were never even asked if we wanted more. On a somewhat muggy morning, this would have been appreciated. In terms of food, it was hit-or-miss. One of my friends had ordered a lobster roll and onion rings, for example, and both looked delicious. I had ordered the mushroom crêpes (Sauteed spinach and mushrooms, whipped feta, diced tomato, sunny side egg), but without the egg. When my plate came to the table though, it just looked... incredibly lackluster. The crêpes were quite small, and didn't have nearly the kind of browned/cooked look that you'd usually expect from a crêpe. I'm not sure what kind of pan or griddle they may use for the crêpes, but they were a disappointment. And while I enjoy ingredients like sauteed spinach, there seemed to be a disproportionate amount of spinach to the mushrooms. More mushrooms, please! It is called a "mushroom crêpe", after all. This seemed pretty on par with my drink as well; specifically, it sounded like a great idea, but the execution was lackluster. In terms of overall ambiance, I can't really speak much to that because we all sat outside. We were thankfully covered by a tree, so when it started to sprinkle then we weren't really too concerned... though we would have been more so if we had probably been 30 minutes later (the rain was heavier), especially given how long it took to get our server's attention for the check. There were some other folks dining outside though - and their tables without cover - so I hope they were able to get sorted easily enough. TL;DR A bit of a lackluster brunch experience. Friends chose this restaurant because they offered outside seating and they could bring their dog. It's nice to have this option available, of course. But would I opt to visit this location if not for such conveniences? Probably not. read more
