When we first walked in and saw the seating area where we normally sit and wait, is now closed off and turned into a "to-go" kitchen, we knew we were in trouble. This steakhouse is lined out the door on a slow day and now they've taken away all of the overflow seating? We happened to visit on a Monday night and without the additional seating that is now a kitchen, it turned into a, dance between patrons and staff continuously moving out of the way of one another because there's just no freaking place to wait! Now came the fiasco of the ordering process. It was my granddaughters 24th birthday and there were six of us. My son ordered a lime daiquiri only to have the waitress come back and say they didn't have any lime so he ordered watermelon which he ended up not liking. Suffice to say everyone of us had something wrong with our meals. We had to keep flagging down the waitress to remind her of side dishes that she kept forgetting to deliver. My beef tips were fatty and full of gristle. I had to discreetly spit out almost all of it in napkins. The mashed potatoes all the way around the table were cold. My son's sirloin steak was lukewarm. The shrimp was ordered by two people which they said was so buttery they couldn't even eat it. If she said no worries one more time I think my head was going to explode because at this point, we were very worried. Half of what we ordered was forgotten. Mostly everything that we had ordered was cold and they couldn't evendeliver a lime daiquiri? Horrible experience celebrating my granddaughters birthday, thank you. Last night, a friend and I met up for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Our waiter Danny took very good care of us. I'm giving this Texas Roadhouse a good review for the simple reason that I received great service. I had order a margarita on the rocks, a Ribeye steak (cooked medium) with a house salad with green beans for my side dishes. When the food arrived, I was asked to cut into it. My friend, the waiter, and I noticed it was overcooked. So the waiter sent it back. A few minutes later, I received another ribeye steak. Again, the steak was overcooked however, because I was feeling hungry, and because I felt bad having to send it back again, I decided to keep it and told everyone it was fine. Danny must have noticed something was wrong and decided to send over the manager. I Cannot remember her name but she was a very nice young professional lady. She wanted to know if I was happy with my steak. Again, I felt bad and didn't want to be that guest who wasn't satisfied. So I kept my overcooked steak. Danny came back and was very kind, kept telling me he could send back the steak as many times needed to help me get what I came here for. Super sweet of him to do this! Danny, this shoutout is for you! Thank you for being a great waiter! Your professionalism, attention to detail, & positive attitude is what makes a good restaurant a GREAT restaurant. The one thing that can make a restaurant great is their ability to respond to the situation in a professional manner. Well, Texas Roadhouse does a great job at that! Went for dinner yesterday and ordered filet, bbq chicken, and kids hotdog. Typical great service but rolls weren't fully raised, ranch was thick a goop, and fries salty. It was my first time here and I can say, I'd probably never come back to the Modesto location. As we got seated, I saw other parties getting seated with fresh rolls of bread and I definitely didn't get seated with any, I had to ask my server for it. When we got our food, it was not piping hot or anywhere near like it came off the stove, my food was really warm, so was the loaded potato. I expected the cheese to be melted into the potato.. also the mac and cheese looked and tasted like Kraft's Mac and cheese, that was served warm as well. It was like they served us someone else's order that was just sitting under the heat lamp. I couldn't even get a picture to show proof because my food was not picture worthy. Although it was fairly packed, we were seated almost immediately. We always pass by and there are people waiting in line for this place. Now I remember why we only went once a few years back, and never visited again. We ordered potato skins as the appetizers, and then a big New York steak with a baked potato. We also had a side of ribs. I left the entire steak except for four bites. Part of the baked potato we picked out. After eating the potato skins I felt bloated. I told my brother not to ever go there because when you leave there it feels like you ate a bag of salt rocks. These types of restaurants are so unhealthy, you should call your doctor and make an appointment on your way home. I felt like I gained 5 pounds of salt after leaving here. I would not recommend. I am seeing quite the unfortunate trend of not visiting the restrooms of these places that I visit. Uuuuggggghh!!! I am just frustrated with myself..lol! So the only reason I was unable to give this place 5 stars was because I had not checked out their bathrooms. So hubby and I had to go to Modesto. Shopping for a new car. We decided since I've had this place bookmarked that we would have dinner here. It was a Saturday....a rainy one at that and this placed was PACKED! Thank goodness I had enough foresight to go online and reserve our spot via their website. It allowed us the drive time, time to find parking and sat in our car instead of standing in a cramped waiting area. Once we checked in at the time that the confirmation email advised us to, we waited maybe another 5 minutes. It allowed us time to drool over the well lit steak encasing they have in the entryway..not to mention drool over the rolls and butter that were awaiting their delicious demise. Hubby and I were seated in a 2 seater booth. We were asked if we'd ever been there before and the waiter graciously took our drink order and suggested some of the yummy margaritas. Since hubby and I turned this venture into an impromptu date night we indulged. I had what they called a Jamaican Cowboy and hubby had a strawberry margarita with a kicker (because a manly man orders a strawberry margarita with a kicker or they are liable to get their man card revoked...lol). Although there is a pail of peanuts and we ordered the Cactus Bloom (onion bloom) for starters we both decided we wanted the Bone-In Ribeye. We ordered our medium well and as you can see from the photo it came perfectly cooked. For my sides I ordered fresh steamed veggies and their green beans. Their green beans are cooked with smoked bacon and was delicious. My husband ordered corn and fresh steamed veggies for his. I was taken aback with my will power. Being that I had never been here I HAD to try their rolls and butter. I had 1/2 of one roll with the butter and OHEMGEEEEEEEEE! The butter melted upon impact of that light...airy yeast pillow of heaven. So good! There was so much food leftover our kids attacked it when we got home. This place is in a little shopping center so there was ample parking spaces. The entry way can get a little cramped during their peak times. Price was decent I think our steak dinner was $30 each and the drinks were like $5 each. I think the icing on the cake was when the servers all got into a line down the middle of the restaurant...turned up the music and started line dancing. Even the bartender was dancing behind the bar. That was fun. Very family oriented place. Everyone was nice. Definitely a nice place to go for a steak dinner worth all your hard earned money! read more

Spotted the tall sign from the road as we were headed to a different restaurant on our way to Las Vegas. Since we don't have Texas Roadhouse in our Seattle area we were happy to stop here in Modesto, CA instead. We were not disappointed! Our server, Stefanie, was amazing!! Friendly, helpful, and guided us to the best choices after she knew our likes. The trio of filets topped with mushrooms were delicious!! Our side salads were large enough to be a meal all by itself. Stefanie brought us to-go containers to take our rib order leftovers to our hotel room. All in all, it was a great experience and we'll try to stop by again on our way home in a couple of weeks. Update: we stopped in again on our way back home. Stefanie was the acting manager and couldn't serve our table. But she put us with her friend Gabrielle who was also fabulous!! After a long wait (we checked in online, drove 20 minutes to get there, checked in again, and still waited another 20 minutes) we finally got seated. The waiter was great. Nothing below is a negative reflection on him. He gets 5-stars. But..... After the appetizer, we waited. Got refills on drinks, more bread and butter, more refills.... And we waited some more. We watched the table next to us finish their meal, pay, another party came, ordered, and got their food, and we waited. After over an hour I asked to speak to manager who was nice and apologetic and that's when the food finally came. The manager said she would comp our appetizer and dessert by way of an apology. Cool, no problem. The food was mediocre at best. My son's NY strip was mostly fat and it was rare to medium rare although he ordered it medium. My filet was not good. No sear on it, and yet somehow very overcooked. Then we ordered dessert (there were 6 of us) and the waiter came back to say the manger was now comping only 4 of them. I didn't fight it - I just wanted to leave. So we got the desserts to go and paid the bill. The appetizer was charged at $0.00 as promised but the desserts she supposedly "comped" were each $9.99 and then a discount of $36 was applied. Yeah, it's only a $4 difference but she reneged on what she promised, twice. At that point I knew she didn't care and I didn't either. So I went home and sent a feedback email via their website. That was over three days ago and they haven't bothered to respond. This place has mediocre food and terrible service. When the best part of the steakhouse dinner is the bread and butter, it's time to find a new steakhouse. read more

I went with the 14oz ribeye with a cesar salad and the steak fries. A watered down old fashion and cactus blossom to start. I ordered my ribeye medium as I prefer choice steaks to be cooked a little more than if it was prime, it came out rare when I asked for medium but that's okay as it was too salty anyways. (to be fair the waiter asked if everything was okay and I said yes as I didn't want to wait to send it back) The steak was saltier than how I felt leaving. I didn't want to send it back as I did not feel like waiting any longer but holy crap, it tasted like the chef dropped the container of salt onto the steak. Of course we received complementary butter buns, freshly made in the restaurant with their known cinnamon spread Ordered tater skins aka "potato skins" loaded with cheddar cheese and bacon bits, side of sour cream. These skins were huge While waiting for our appetizer to come we did get our drinks and more butter buns with their cinnamon butter spread. Sooo good! My son got the blue crush, hubs got the Arnold palmer which consists of half tea and half lemonade. I got the hurricane margarita which was also to the T. Although they have way more in the drink dept to choose from. Its whatever floats your boat Our food arrives, the ribs fell off the bone, texture was good. U can peel the ribs off with just a fork. I was basically refused service because these people are cops or something. If they are, yall don't pay them enough.
